Dear brothers and sisters, friends, Welcome to the April 16th, 2017 Christmas Christmas Sermon. Today is the anniversary of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today's Sermon is recorded in John 11, 17 -44.
The topic of this Sermon is the following story. On the day of the Sermon on Friday, we only talked about the story of Lazarus. You may have noticed that the Sermon on that day did not completely end.
At that time, Lazarus was already buried in the tomb. You may ask, is this the real Lazarus? Is this the real Lazarus that fell from the sky? Actually, I want you to realize that our lives are like Lazarus in the tomb.
Just like John 11, 17 -37. This is a tomb. The dead are buried. Lazarus is in the tomb. The living are sad and weep. We are like being in such a situation. When Jesus came into our lives, He wanted to tell us that the dead will be resurrected.
We may believe in such a mystical doctrine, but Jesus not only wants us to believe in such a doctrine, but also wants us to believe in Him, in Himself. Jesus said, I am resurrection, I am life. Although we know that the mystical doctrine is about the resurrection of the dead, we are like Matthew and Mary.
They blamed Jesus for coming too late. Their little brother could not be saved. So, they are sad, they are in pain, they are crying. We not only need to ask, where is the problem? The answer is, the problem is on us.
We do not fully believe that Jesus is resurrection, is life. Today, we will look at the unfinished story of Lazarus. The ending of this story is very surprising. Every minute, every second, there is a world that you are in.
Death should be the end. It is the end of a person's life. Death is the end of a person's life. We do not have any expectations, but Jesus pointed out the end of life here, and made a big unexpected change.
Today, we will look at the story of Jesus, the end of a person's life. How did these three people say, Jesus is resurrection, Jesus is life. First, we need to ask, who is Jesus? In the 17th chapter, when Jesus came to the tent, outside the city of Jerusalem, Lazarus had been dead for four days.
The body was about to be cremated. The body had been placed in the tomb. These three people were sad, they were in pain. Martha heard that Jesus was coming, so she went out to see him. She knew, she believed.
If Jesus had come earlier, his brother would not have died. Jesus said to her, Lazarus is resurrection. Martha believed in resurrection. But Jesus wanted her to believe. She had to believe, not only in the doctrines of theology.
Jesus wanted Martha to believe, he was the Lord of resurrection, he was the Lord of life. The resurrection of life is to overcome death. This is not a common thing. Jesus said that the resurrection of life is now, in this day.
And he believed that Jesus was the Lord of resurrection, the Lord of life. He believed that Jesus was the Lord of death. Death is like the giant Goliath, which humiliated us, mocked us, frightened us, and scared us.
The great warrior, David, went forward and defeated the giant Goliath for us. Jesus came to the tomb, not for the resurrection of the doctrine of theology, but for himself. He told those who believed in him, even if they died, like Lazarus, or the people around you, or even yourself, this is something that will happen one day.
Jesus told these people to be resurrected. The 25th chapter of the book of Revelation. There is nothing that is natural or unnatural, not even the energy of life, that can be prepared for us. But only that one, who came from heaven and declared that he was the Lord of resurrection, the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ, told us to put this faith on him, and not on the world that will happen in the future.
In other words, we believe in resurrection, because we believe that this resurrection also has life, which is Jesus Christ. In the 26th chapter, Jesus then said to Martha, Those who believe in me, will never die.
The life that Jesus gave us, is not a physical life, like a beating heart, a breathing lung, a beating brain, etc. Instead, the life that Jesus gave us, is the only begotten Son of God. Jesus asked Martha, Do you believe?
Martha realized that Jesus is the Lord of resurrection and life. What about you? Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? On the other hand, the next development of the story is Maria. She knows what kind of person Jesus is.
We can say that Jesus is what kind of God. When Martha came back, she whispered to her sister, Maria, Jesus is here, she asked you to go. When Maria heard this, she hurried to Jesus. Those who followed Maria, thought that she was going to the well, but what they didn't know was that they were going to the Lord of resurrection and life.
When Maria came to Jesus' feet, she cried. Those who accompanied her, the elders, also cried. Seeing this scene, Jesus was moved, and very sad. What Jesus saw was the pain and suffering and what he saw was Martha tied to the well because of her death.
Jesus cried. This is verse 35. We can see Jesus' love, his compassion, his heart. He is not a person who restrains his emotions. He is not a materialist. He is not a life believer. He only sits on the ground.
He does not care about our pain. No, that is not Jesus. Jesus is our Savior. He does not try to escape this world. He is with us in this world. In this world, what we have experienced, Jesus has also experienced.
He can understand our suffering. He is our Savior. He is our Savior. Thirdly, at this time, Jesus had to tell someone who this person was. He was Lazarus. This is the next development of the story. In verse 38, Jesus was very angry and came to the well.
In front of the well, there was a hole. There was a big stone in the hole. What did Jesus say at this time? To whom did he say this? Jesus said to the Jews who came to the mountain, Open the stone. This is in verse 39.
Open the door that is always closed. Similarly, if you believe Jesus, in our lives, there will be no more shackles of sin and death. Jesus said, Move away. This is the next story that shocked many people.
Not long ago, just said I believe. But now, his belief has been verified again. He said to Jesus, Lord, he has been dead for four days. It is wrong. At this time, we in today's news, Lazarus has been dead for four days.
Jesus said again, Lazarus has been dead for four days. It is not a matter of destruction. The great will of God is the ability of man and the intelligent world. It is impossible to satisfy or help his brother to rise again.
The next story shocked many people. On the 40th day, Jesus said to Martha, Didn't I tell you that as long as you believe, you will see the glory of God? This sentence may be what Jesus said this time.
The first time was when he met Lazarus and heard the news Jesus said, this illness will not die, but for the glory of God. The next story is about seeing the glory of God. How did God pass through birth, old age, sickness, and death to achieve glory?
It is a story that Jesus said to Martha. The story that Martha told was not an end for Jesus. Now, on the 41st and 42nd day, Jesus began to speak to his father. On the 41st day, he looked up to the sky and said, Father, I thank you because you have confirmed my prayer.
Jesus had prayed for Lazarus to God. At this time, he thanked God for confirming his prayer to the Father. He was in communion with the Father. He said, I know that you often confirm my prayer. Jesus continued, I say this because I want the people around to believe that you have sent me.
What was Jesus' purpose? He wanted them to see the glory of God. The next was shocking. It was surprising. He told Martha again, and told us that he was the Lord who brought life back. On the 43rd day, Jesus called out to Lazarus in the tomb, Lazarus, come out!
Jesus is the Lord who brought life back. He called the dead to come out. He called the dead to come out to give him his life. On the 44th day, he said, the dead came out. This means that Lazarus had died.
Now, he came out. His hands and feet were wrapped in cloth. His face was also wrapped in cloth. This proves that he was buried. Jesus then said to the people, untie him and let him go. In other words, even if Lazarus was no longer bound by death, he was resurrected.
Brothers and sisters, friends, when Jesus came to the tomb, he declared that he was the Lord who brought life back. We must believe in him, and not just believe in the resurrection of the beast. Jesus saw that we were bound by sin and death.
He took pity on us and wept for our sadness. He was with God. He told us to believe that he was the Son of God. He told us to believe that he was the Son of God. This was for the glory of God. This story is not over yet.
We must wait for him to come again. Brothers and sisters, friends, Jesus has come. He told us that he was the Lord who brought life back. He told us to believe in him. He came for the glory of God. Moreover, he thought that it was over.
