Gottes Verheißung an Israel

Wir lesen ein Wort aus dem Buche Jeremiah, Kapitel 29, Jeremiah 29, die Verse 11 bis 14. Denn ich weiß wohl, was ich für Gedanken über euch habe, spricht der Herr. Gedanken des Friedens und nicht des Leides, dass ich euch gebe, das Ende des ihr wartet.

Und ihr werdet mich anrufen und hingehen und mich bitten, und ich will euch erhören. Ihr werdet mich suchen und finden, denn wenn ihr mich von ganzem Herzen suchen werdet, so will ich mich von euch finden lassen, spricht der Herr, und will eure Gefangenschaft wenden und euch sammeln aus allen Völkern und von allen Orten, wohin ich euch verstoßen habe, spricht der Herr, und will euch wieder an diesen Ort bringen, von wo ich euch habe wegführen lassen.

Ihr wisst, wer das angeht. Das ist das Volk Gottes, das auserwählte Volk Israel, das jetzt wieder zurückkommt, das der Herr wieder sammelt in seinem Lande. Und wir dürfen zusehen, wie alte Verheißungen sich erfüllen.

Das ist herrlich. Am Dienstag hatten wir einen Gottesdienst in Talwil, da hat Bruder Art uns richtig so klar gemacht, was unsere, also der Heidenchristen, Verantwortung gegenüber Israel ist, was wir eigentlich Israel mitteilen sollten.

Wir sind ihnen ja Schuldner, weil wir wegen ihrem Ungehorsam eingefropft sind in den Ölbau. Und nun dachte ich nachher darüber nach, was wir da tun könnten, um die Juden auch für Jesus zu gewinnen. Wir haben hier auch Juden in der Schweiz, nicht wenige.

Und sie sind ziemlich abgeschlossen für sich. Und sie wollen nicht, dass man sie belästigt, natürlich mit dem Evangelium. Aber das ist ja keine Belästigung, das ist ja ein Vorricht. Wenn sie auch gläubig würden, dann dürften sie auch ein klares Ziel haben vor Augen.

Sie wüssten genau, was Heil ist. Und da kam mir eine Schwester in den Sinn. Bruder Klaus Büblich-Hüsen hat mir ihre Adresse gegeben in Deutschland. Ich hatte sie letztes Jahr besucht mit meiner Frau.

Und wir hatten da eine ganz interessante Begegnung. Diese Frau ist auf den Gedanken gekommen, wie man den Juden das Evangelium bringen könnte. Und sie hatte einen Mann, der war in der Kirche tätig. Irgendetwas hat eine Funktion in der Landeskirche.

Und wegen seinem positiven Glaubensbekenntnis verlor er diese Stelle eines Tages. Und wurde arbeitslos. Und das zog sich längere Zeit hin. Und sie hörte, dass in Basel bei der VETA, also der Freien Evangelischen Theologischen Akademie, ein Hebräischkurs durchgeführt würde.

Und so entschloss sie sich, weil der Mann ja den Haushalt machen konnte und zu den Kindern sehen, dass sie nach Basel gehen und Hebräisch lernen würde. Und sie bestand den Kurs erfolgreich. Ich weiß nicht mehr, ging es drei Monate oder sechs Monate.

Jedenfalls eine längere Zeit. Sie wohnte bei anderen Gläubigen. Und nachher kehrte sie nach Hause. Und was machte sie? Sie fing an, Briefe zu schreiben an Juden in Israel. Sie ließ sich ein Telefonbuch kommen aus Israel, von Jerusalem und verschiedenen Gegenden, und suchte da Adressen heraus.

Sie war erfinderisch. Man sagt doch, die Liebe ist erfinderisch, nicht wahr? Und so schrieb sie an verschiedene Leute und sandte ihnen in Hebräisch Literatur und erklärte sie mit ihren Hebräischkenntnissen, was sie eigentlich beabsichtigte.

Und siehe da, der Herr war mit ihr. Sie bekam positive Antworten und Fragen, wie sich das verhalte mit dieser und jener Bibelstelle und mit dieser Prophetie. Und sie konnte ihnen in Hebräisch Auskunft geben.

Und es kamen schon eine ganze Reihe Juden zum Glauben in Israel. Da dachte ich, ja, eigentlich könnte man das ja hier auch machen, oder? Vielleicht sind wir auch so findig. Vielleicht lieben wir die Juden auch so, dass wir ihnen...

Sie sprechen ja hier Deutsch. Wir brauchen ja gar nicht Hebräisch zu lernen. Können wir Ihnen doch auch so viel Literatur schicken, die dann nachher Ihnen zu Herzen spricht. Wichtig ist, dass man es auf einer privaten Basis tut, nicht organisiert, so mit einem Titel, wie wir da haben, der internationale Missionsgemeinschaft.

Das wäre ein rotes Tuch. Nur das nicht. Da muss man vorsichtig sein. Mit den Juden muss man persönlich Kontakt aufnehmen. Vielleicht haben die einen oder anderen gute Gedanken. Der Herr hört Gebete, wenn uns das eine Last ist.

Er kann uns eigentlich etwas zeigen, was den Kontakt knüpft zu den Juden. Und wer weiß, vielleicht haben wir einmal hier in Zürich oder anderswo eine messianische Gemeinde von gläubig gewordenen Juden.

Das Reich Gottes und Gottes Führung zu Israel

Das wäre doch wunderbar, nicht? Also, nicht wahr, das Reich Gottes wird ja auf Erden gebaut. Hier ist das Reich Gottes auf Erden und das bereitet uns vor auf das himmlische Reich. Das Himmelreich, das ist nicht hier auf Erden, aber das Reich Gottes ist in uns.

Und wenn wir den Herrn in uns haben, dann wird er uns auch führen und leiten. Wir hören seine Stimme, wir sind seine Schafe, er ist der gute Hirte und er leitet uns, um seines Namens willen, auch zu den Juden, seinen Auserwählten, seinen geliebten Kindern, denen er immer noch die Arme entgegen streckt.

Er wollte sie ja schon sammeln in Jerusalem, als er auf Erden war. Und sie hörten ihn nicht, sie wollten ihn nicht. Aber jetzt werden sie in der Klemme immer mehr offen, auch in Israel. Die Gemeinden dort wachsen, sie nehmen zu.

Und wenn Bruder Art nach Israel kommt, dann findet er offene Türen. Früher haben sie so gemacht, aber heute hören sie gerne das Wort Gottes. Und wir sollen nicht vergessen, auch was jetzt in der Welt geschieht, bereitet die Juden zu, auch innerlich.

Und das müssen wir wahrnehmen. Als Christen haben wir eine Verantwortung und wir sind ihre Schuldner. Wir möchten diese Schuld abtragen. Wir haben nicht nur ein Holocaust gemacht, wir haben auch andere Dinge gemacht.

Und es hat auch immer wieder solche Christen gegeben, die haben Juden beschützt und hineingenommen, um vor den Verfolgten gerettet. Und das sollen wir in der Zukunft auch tun. Und wir wollen gleich anfangen und lernen das.

Das ist von nebenbei eine Bemerkung, die ich jetzt noch einflichten wollte. Ich habe den Namen dieser Schwester absichtlich nicht gesagt, damit es nicht eine Pilgerfahrt dorthin gibt. Wir können das ja hier auch machen.

Der Herr zeigt uns das schon. Ich möchte noch beten. Himmlischer Vater, wir danken dir, dass du dein Volk nicht verworfen hast. Du liebst es und du führst es, auch durch die Nacht. Auch in größter Gefahr bist du bei ihnen, so wie du bei uns bist.

Und du möchtest sie wieder zurückführen. Sie sind ins Land gekommen, aber sie müssen auch zu dir kommen, im Lande selbst. Und du bist dort und du bist hier, du bist überall. Wir danken dir, dass wir ihnen auch dein Heil verkünden dürfen.

Du öffnest den Weg, Herr. Wir bitten dich, zeige uns deine Wege. Und wir danken dir, dass du auch heute Nachmittag jetzt bei uns bist. Du wirst einen Knecht salven und ihn mit dem Wort ausrüsten, dass es für uns wichtig ist, dass wir auch weiter deinen Willen tun und deinen Auftrag ausführen an deinem geliebten Volk.

Amen. Ich möchte noch einige Mitteilungen durchgeben, bevor Bruder Art mit uns spricht. Wir haben dort auf dem Tisch zwei Listen aufgelegt für solche Leute, die gerne eine Kassette hätten. Wir haben mit großer Mühe diesen Apparat hier zur Arbeit zwingen können.

Ich habe gedacht, das sei ein Apparat, den könnte man hier ohne weiteres bedienen, aber ist etwas komplizierter als meine alte Kiste, die ich zu Hause gelassen habe. Und ich hoffe, die Kassetten wären gut.

Sie werden euch zugesandt dann, wenn ihr euch eintragt, dort auf der Liste. Manchmal ist es gut, wenn man diese Vorträge noch einmal hört und genau überdenken kann. Und dann wird man viel mehr noch bereichert.

Also vergesst es nicht, euch einzutragen, wenn ihr das wollt. Dann hat es auch noch einige Gratisliteratur dort. Wir haben noch einige englische Zionsfreunde. Das ist das Blatt mit den Zeugnissen von den Rabbinern, die gläubig geworden sind.

Aber es ist leider nur in Englisch. Ich habe keine deutschen mehr. Die werden wieder einmal nachgesandt, wenn sie gedruckt sind. Dann darf ich noch mitteilen, dass wir immer am zweiten Montag jeden Monats eine Israel-Gebetsstunde haben, wo wir hauptsächlich über Anliegen gegen Israel beten.

Das ist an der Kramerstraße 7, nicht weit von hier. Und am 8 Uhr abends, das ist also am nächsten Montag, haben wir da so eine Zusammenkunft. Wir sind da herzlich eingeladen. Wer irgendeine Last für Israel hat und darüber beten will, der ist bei uns herzlich willkommen.

Auch noch sagen möchte ich, dass wir morgen nochmals eine Versammlung haben mit Arthur Katz. Das heißt nicht wir, es ist eine Gemeinde in Aarau. Leider kann ich die Adresse nicht sagen, aber ich habe eine Telefonnummer.

Wer sich interessiert, der kann von mir eine Telefonnummer haben und sich erkundigen dort. Da wird er um 8 Uhr nochmals dienen. Und wir freuen, dass sein Dienst mehr und mehr gefragt wird in der Schweiz.

Wer etwas geben will, der wird gesegnet sein. Und nun möchte ich das Wort unserem Bruder geben. Bitte, Bruder, Sie sind willkommen bei uns als Minister. Das Treffen ist für Sie.

Hallo, Gäste. Es ist gut, Sie wiederzusehen. Einige zum ersten Mal. Nun, wir haben die Gnade Gottes nötig, um das Thema Gottes zu überbringen. Und dafür hat Paulus ja ständig gesäufzt, dass er genügend Gnade hätte, um sich ausdrücken zu können.

Ein apostolischer Blick auf Gottes Geheimnis

Ja, wie sehr müssen wir säufzen, um die Gnade zu haben, das in Erfüllung zu bringen, was Gott angedeutet hat. So, wenn der Herr heute Nachmittag bei uns ist, dann sollte dieser Nachmittag uns wirklich teuer kommen.

In dem Sinne, was von uns hier verlangt wird, wenn wir das Folgende nun hören. Möge Gott doch von uns diese so harmlose Neugier nehmen, was Israel anbelangt. Die ganze Neue, was uns hier zu einer gewissen Neugier treibt.

Dass wir so viele Gefühle mitbringen, wenn wir an Israel denken. This will never do. Aber das wird nicht zum Ziele bringen.

Only an apostolic mindset.

Nur eine apostolische Gemütsverfassung.

Can lay hold of this mystery.

Kann wirklich mit diesem Geheimnis umgehen.

And recognize the sacrifice required for its fulfillment.

Und auch dann sofort das Opfer vor Augen haben, was notwendig ist, um alles von Gott her in Erfüllung gehen zu lassen.

It's a fulfillment that the Lord could have brought by himself sovereignly.

Das ist ja eine Erfüllung, die der Herr ohne weiteres in seiner eigenen souveränen Weise hätte herbeiführen können.

But he is pleased to employ an essentially gentile church.

Aber ihm hat es gefallen, im Grunde genommen die Gemeinde Jesu aus den Heiden dazu zu gebrauchen. Why? Warum?

So that my Jewish people will require an eternity to thank you.

So, dass mein jüdisches Volk in alle Ewigkeit hinein eine Gelegenheit hat, euch zu danken.

For giving yourself so sacrificially for their redemption.

Dass ihr euch so opferbereit hingegeben habt, damit sie erlöst würden.

From whom they could never have expected it.

Ja, von euch hätten sie das auch gar nicht erwarten können.

Seeing that there has been such an historic enmity between Gentiles and Jews.

Wo es doch historisch gesehen solch eine ungeheure Feindschaft zwischen Heiden und Juden gegeben hat.

Can you see the genius of God in this?

Könnt ihr die Genialität Gottes in diesem Ganzen erkennen?

Oh, the depths of the riches, both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God.

Oh, welche Tiefe des Reichtums und der Weisheit und der Erkenntnis Gottes.

So this is a vast statement. The genius of God, the mystery of God in what he has desired.

So ist das eine umfangreiche Ausführung über die Genialität Gottes, was er auf dem Herzen trägt.

Of such a kind that even our sentiment might interfere with the apprehension of it.

Und das Ganze ist so weitgehend, dass vielleicht unsere ganzen Gefühls, Emotionen und so weiter, ein Hinderungsgrund sein könnten, damit das Ganze zustande kommt.

So I want to add my own prayer for this speaking this afternoon. That it would be something more than an informative word. A word that will perform a work in them that believe.

Es soll ein Wort sein, das ein Werk hervorbringt bei denen, die da glauben.

And that it will be a contribution, a step toward the fulfillment itself.

Und dass es einem Beitrag sein soll, dass alles in Erfüllung gehen kann.

All the more because we are so unassuming and unimpressive.

Umso mehr, weil wir das gar nicht so erwarten oder gar nicht so beeindruckend sind, es auszuführen. Der Sprecher wie die Zuhörerschaft zusammengesehen. Die lebenslustigeren Christen, ja, die sind zur Zeit vielleicht unterwegs mit dem Fahrrad oder auf dem Boot zum Segeln.

Aber ihr, die Älteren, seid gekommen. Und Gott wird desto mehr durch euch verherrlicht werden.

Because he delights in employing that which is weak and foolish.

Denn ihm gefällt es, das einzusetzen, was da schwach ist, ja, manchmal töricht.

This is my sole qualification to be his servant.

Das ist meine einzige Qualifikation, sein Diener zu sein. Hallelujah. So Lord, we're pleased. So freuen wir uns, Herr. That you have such a preference. Dass du solch einen Vorzug hast. What kind of a God are you?

Welcher Art Gott bist du eigentlich?

That chooses the thing that is weak and foolish.

Der sich das erwählt hat, was da schwach und vor der Welt töricht ist.

To confound that which is wise and strong in itself.

Um das zunichte zu machen, was sich klug düngt in sich selbst.

Little wonder that your Jewish people cannot recognize you.

Kein Wunder, dass dein jüdisches Volk dich nicht erkennen kann.

For they very much esteem strength and wisdom.

Denn sie schätzen ja in sehr hohem Maße Weisheit.

But thank you for the mercy that empties them.

Aber danke für die Barmherzigkeit, die sie dessen entleert.

And will bring them to the necessary weakness.

Und sie zu der notwendigen Schwäche führt.

They will desire your strength.

Wo sie dann das Verlangen nach deiner Kraft haben. Even for their redemption. Ja, nach deiner Erlösung haben.

And your eternal purposes through them.

Und nach deinen ewigen Zielen und Zwecken durch sie. Employ this speaking. So benutze dieses Reden.

I don't know how to begin it or how to end it.

Ich weiß nicht, wie ich beginnen oder enden soll.

So we call upon you as the great Alpha and Omega.

So rufen wir dich, den großen Alpha und Omega, an.

Whose honor is so involved in this mystery.

Dessen Ehre ja letzten Endes bei diesem Geheimnis auf dem Spiel steht.

So come now and establish it yourself.

So komme nun und richte du selber das auf.

We thank you and give you the praise in Jesus' holy name.

Wir danken dir und geben dir Preis in Jesu heiligen Namen. And God's people said. Und Gottes Volk sagt. Amen.

Gottes theokratische Regierung und das kommende Reich

So, I know that the burden of the Lord for today is the issue of his divine government. And the word government is not even attractive for me. It sounds so bureaucratic. The shuffling of papers. Such a weariness to the flesh.

And so it must be at the earthly level. But from the heavenly it's quite another thing. His government is righteousness. And peace. Not just the mere elimination of strife and discord. But the whole manner of a heavenly living.

That is invested with the shalom of God. Do you desire that? Do you expect it in a substantial way? Or are you democratic, all too democratic? I was amused at the excitement even on the part of Christians for the coming down of the wall from East Germany.

Or the collapse of the communist systems in the eastern nations. And we shared with Czechoslovakia and other of these nations the excitement in taking democratic steps. As if this were the end of all things.

The best of all that could be desired.

But it's only been a short time and already the disillusionment is setting in.

We need something much more. The rule of God himself. In the earth and among the nations. That they might beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. And study war no more. Probably one of the greatest tragedies of the Christian faith is the harmless way in which we speak of the kingdom of God.

It is always rather ambiguous. It has a kind of an airy sense but never points to anything quite specific. But the scriptures are very explicit about this kingdom. The theocratic rule of God. Not the democratic rule of men.

And we should daily be breathing, thy kingdom come, thy kingdom come, thy kingdom come. So what has this to do with Israel? And Israel's restoration? Everything. For the issue of Israel's return is the issue of the coming of the king.

The issue of the Lord in coming as king. And the establishing of his kingdom. On their holy hill. On the throne of David. Forever. Do you believe that? Literally. A very real system of government.

On a particular throne. Of David.

That fulfills the covenant promises of God to that people. And answers the legitimate question of the disciples of Jesus. Is it time now to establish the kingdom of Israel? For the kingdom of Israel is the kingdom of God.

But it's the kingdom for all nations. Whose locus and capital is in Jerusalem. The literal city. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and out of Jerusalem the word of the Lord. To all nations. Are you with me so far?

How do the nations feel about that? Yeah. How delighted are they in the anticipation of God's theocratic rule? Frankly, they're not too excited. Because they enriched themselves in unrighteousness. And have profited by their rule.

In self-seeking ways. And love their privilege. And want it to continue. And I'm speaking now not only about earthly rulers. But the true rulers of this world. The gods of this age. The principalities and the powers of the air.

The invisible realm of demonic rulership. As expressed through a fallen angeology. A fallen network of angels.

In rebellion against God.

But still holding governmental office in the heavenlies. And turning it to their own advantage. That men should worship them as the gods of this world. And to turn away the attention of men from him who is God.

Am I speaking mysteries? Have I lost you? Do you know of the presence of these powers of the air?

Do you know of the presence of these powers of the air?

We even say, there's something in the air. Just crossing from one national border into another. The whole atmosphere has changed. There's something in the air. And that something is the invisible realm of demonic spirit.

That have brooded uninterruptedly over those places. To influence and sway the conduct of those nations. And they want to maintain their rule. And will resist in every way this kingdom that will come.

And have already resisted. Almost to the point of the annihilation of the Jewish people. What's the connection? Simply this. Jesus said, you will not see me again until you will say, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

His coming is altogether related to their coming. To repentance and return. Acts 3 .21 says that he is actually contained in the heavens. Pent up. Waiting for the restoration of all things spoken by the prophets since the world began.

And what have these prophets spoken uniformly?

The restoration of Israel in the last days. The return to their land.

Through the mercies of God. The acknowledgement of Jesus as Lord. And the establishing of a kingdom through them. In promise to their fathers. That will be established upon the throne of David literally.

The powers of the air know this better than the church. How then shall they avert the threat to their vested and unchallenged rule? By annihilating that people through whom the rule comes. Therefore I can tell you with complete confidence.

That the Nazi time was only a foreshadowing of something much greater.

A final and severe persecution of the Jewish nation throughout all the earth. To the point of annihilation.

And the greater number of them will not survive it. But out of that persecution God will bring a remnant. That the redeemed of the Lord shall return to Zion. And mourning and sighing shall flee away. And everlasting joy shall be upon their heads.

Die Verantwortung der Kirche gegenüber Israel

This is God's last days scenario. And the anti-Semitic hatred is accelerating in every nation even as I speak. And so where will be the church at this time?

In the final extremity of Israel in the last days.

God's very provision for the preservation of this remnant. By the extension of your mercy that they might obtain mercy. When the issue of mercy for them may be the issue of life or death. And when the extending of mercy might be at the risk of your own life.

You should tie me up and carry me out of this room. Are these things to speak to an intelligent and polite audience? Such a fearful and apocalyptic scenario? When everything seems so peaceful today? And this is the best of all possible worlds?

And really brother Art we don't really need God's theocratic kingdom.

If it is God's theocratic kingdom. And if it is God's theocratic kingdom. And if it is God's theocratic kingdom.

Can't we just improve what we have? Progressively? This is our secret heart. We want amelioration not glory. And so the Lord remains pent up in the heavens waiting. For the church is the key to Israel's redemption.

And Israel's redemption is the key to the kingdom. And the kingdom is the key to health and prosperity. For the nations. Millennial sanity. The peace that is not the result of political compromise. When we say peace, peace but there is no peace.

But the peace that is with righteousness.

And so in the book of Haggai. The last prophet before Zechariah. Chapter two.

Verse six. Thus says the Lord of hosts. Once more in a little while I'm going to shake the heavens and the earth. The sea also and the dry land. And I will shake all the nations. And they will come with the wealth of all nations.

And I will fill this house with glory says the Lord. That he established the bounds of the nations. According to the number of the sons of Israel. That somehow the whole issue of world government. The rule of God over the nations.

Is altogether proportionate to the sons of Israel. And that's why Jerusalem is not only to be their capital. But the capital of God in the world. For he has established the nations. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.

To glorify him. When they come under his lordship and authority. And the rule that goes forth out of Zion. And what shall happen to the nations that refuse that design. They suffer curse. If they will not come up to Jerusalem.

And celebrate the feast of tabernacles. By an actual physical act of submission.

In the acknowledgement of the rule of God from Israel.

God will deprive them of rain. And in the absence of rain is the plagues. That's what it says in Zechariah chapter 14.

Verse 16. And 17.

Verse 19. This will be the punishment of Egypt. And of all nations. Who do not go up to celebrate the feast of tabernacles. Can you understand why the heathen rage. The kings and the rulers seeking a vain thing.

They want to break off the connection with God and with his anointed. But he holds them in derision. He laughs them to scorn. He will set his king on his holy hill Zion. And give him the nations for his inheritance.

Israels Wiederherstellung und die Herrschaft des Messias

This needs to come into our consciousness.

Into our understanding. Into our millennial expectation.

For which Israel's restoration is the key. That when he will again be their king. And his prince David will rule over them. And establish his sanctuary and his dwelling place in their Zion. Then also will he be king over all the earth.

We won't see nations starving to death. While the Swiss have their coffee in their cafes and their torta.

And the other customary luxury. While the Swiss have their coffee in their cafes and their torta.

Completely indifferent to the suffering that is elsewhere in the world. And helpless to affect it. For of the righteousness and of his peace there shall be no end. And the trees will clap their hands.

The hills will skip as rams. Nature itself will respond to the beneficent rule of God. The mental asylums will be emptied. And abortion will be unknown. Righteousness. A new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Thy kingdom come. And how it will be opposed by the powers of hell. Who hate Israel unto death. Because they know that this is the people. Through whose restoration he comes. And what will you do in that day?

You know what the German church did. It collapsed. It could not identify with this hated people. For fear that it would suffer their fate. This will really be the test for us. Of whether or not he is Lord.

Lord of our substance, our security, our homes. We had best begin now. To bring everything under his rule. For the way in which we shall respond to this people in that last day. Determines our eternal destiny.

Whose elders will now be earnestly sought after and consulted about the decisions of our life. They are not accustomed to this. They don't even desire it. It puts them under a new responsibility. To be able to seek for and find the mind of the Lord for others.

To confirm or to nullify. This is a real obligation. That can only be performed in the spirit. By men who have done nothing more than open and close windows and move chairs. It requires the church to be church.

For only as true church can it fulfill God's purposes toward Israel. Israel. What is less than that can fulfill our purpose. Nice meetings, biblical preaching. But it doesn't fulfill his. So even Israel in her unbelief.

Is a factor toward the church. That compels it to be church. Even against her own reluctance and unwillingness. All the depths of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. Who has been his counselor?

It's not only an Israel that needs us. It's a church that needs them. To be the incentive to be what we need to be. Or suffer an eternal embarrassment. Do you want such a church? This would be nothing less than a kind of revolution.

It requires us really to be saints. Really to seek the Lord. And to pray for those who are in places of responsibility and leadership. And to be authentically joined to such a body. Which is more than the issue of attending.

So lacking in power. In authenticity. So constituting no threat to the powers of darkness that brood overhead. May our love for Israel. Our jealousy for your coming and your kingdom. Prompt us and stir us.
