- 00:07
- Judges 14, Then Samson went down to Timnah and saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the
- 00:15
- Philistines. So he came back up and told his father and mother, I saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the
- 00:22
- Philistines. So now take her for me as a wife. But his father and his mother said to him,
- 00:28
- Is there no woman among the daughters of your relatives or among all our people, that you go to take a wife from the uncircumcised
- 00:35
- Philistines? But Samson said to his father, Take her for me, for she is right in my eyes.
- 00:42
- However his father and mother did not know that it was of Yahweh, for he was seeking an occasion against the
- 00:48
- Philistines. Now at that time the Philistines were ruling over Israel. Then Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and they came as far as the vineyards of Timnah.
- 00:59
- And behold, a young lion came roaring toward him. And the spirit of Yahweh came upon him mightily, so that he tore it as one tears a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand.
- 01:10
- But he did not tell his father or mother what he had done. So he went down and spoke to the woman, and she was right in the eyes of Samson.
- 01:18
- Then he returned later to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion, and behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the body of the lion.
- 01:28
- So he scraped the honey into his hands and went on, eating as he went. Then he went to his father and mother, and he gave some to them, and they ate it.
- 01:37
- But he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the body of the lion. Then his father went down to the woman, and Samson made a feast there, for the young men customarily did this.
- 01:48
- Now it happened that when they saw him, they took thirty companions to be with him. Then Samson said to them,
- 01:54
- Let me now propound a riddle to you. If you will indeed tell it to me within the seven days of the feast and find it out, then
- 02:02
- I will give you thirty linen wraps and thirty changes of clothes. But if you are unable to tell me, then you shall give me thirty linen wraps and thirty changes of clothes.
- 02:14
- And they said to him, Propound your riddle, that we may hear it. So he said to them, Out of the eater came something to eat, and out of the strong came something sweet.
- 02:24
- But they could not tell the riddle in three days. Then it happened on the fourth day that they said to Samson's wife,
- 02:31
- Entice your husband so that he will tell us the riddle, or we will burn you and your father's house with fire.
- 02:37
- Have you invited us to impoverish us? Is this not so? So Samson's wife wept before him and said,
- 02:44
- You only hate me, and you do not love me. You have propounded a riddle to the sons of my people and have not told it to me.
- 02:51
- And he said to her, Behold, I have not told it to my father or mother, so should
- 02:56
- I tell you. However, she wept before him seven days while their feast lasted.
- 03:02
- And on the seventh day he told her, because she pressed him so hard. She then told the riddle to the sons of her people.
- 03:09
- So the men of the city said to him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey, and what is stronger than a lion?
- 03:17
- And he said to them, If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have found out my riddle.
- 03:23
- Then the spirit of Yahweh came upon him mightily, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck down thirty of them and took their spoil and gave the changes of clothes to those who did the riddle.
- 03:34
- Then the spirit of Yahweh came upon him mightily, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck down thirty of them and took their spoil and gave the changes of clothes to those who told the riddle.
- 03:44
- And his anger burned, and he went up to his father's house. But Samson's wife was given to his companion, who had been his friend.
- 03:56
- Acts 18 After these things he departed Athens and went to Corinth. And he found a
- 04:02
- Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, and his wife Priscilla, who recently came from Italy, because Claudius had commanded all the
- 04:09
- Jews to depart from Rome. He came to them, and because he was of the same trade, he was staying with them and they were working, for by trade they were tent makers.
- 04:19
- And he was reasoning in the synagogue every Sabbath and trying to persuade both Jews and Greeks. But when
- 04:25
- Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly bearing witness to the
- 04:33
- Jews that Jesus is the Christ. But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them,
- 04:40
- Your blood be on your own heads. I am clean. From now on I will go to the
- 04:45
- Gentiles. Then he left there and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a god -fearer, whose house was next to the synagogue.
- 04:54
- And Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his household, and many of the
- 05:00
- Corinthians, when they heard, were believing and being baptized. And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision,
- 05:07
- Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no man will lay a hand on you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city.
- 05:18
- And he stayed there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. But while Galio was proconsul of Achaia, the
- 05:27
- Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat, saying, This man persuades men to worship
- 05:34
- God contrary to the law. But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Galio said to the
- 05:40
- Jews, If it were a wrongdoing or vicious crime, O Jews, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you.
- 05:47
- But if there are questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves. I am not willing to be a judge of these matters.
- 05:55
- And he drove them away from the judgment seat. And they all took hold of Sosthenes, a leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of the judgment seat.
- 06:04
- But Galio was not concerned about any of these things. And Paul, having remained many days longer, took leave of the brothers and put out to sea for Syria, and with him were
- 06:15
- Priscilla and Aquila. In Synchria he had his hair cut, for he was keeping a vow.
- 06:21
- And they arrived at Ephesus, and he left them there. Now he himself entered the synagogue and reasoned with the
- 06:27
- Jews. When they asked him to stay for a longer time, he did not consent. But taking leave of them and saying,
- 06:34
- I will return to you again if God wills, he set sail from Ephesus. And when he had landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and went down to Antioch.
- 06:44
- And having spent some time there, he left and passed successively through the Galatian region and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.
- 06:52
- Now a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, arrived at Ephesus, and he was mighty in the scriptures.
- 07:00
- This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John.
- 07:11
- And he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.
- 07:21
- And when he wanted to go across to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him.
- 07:27
- And when he had arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace. For he powerfully refuted the
- 07:34
- Jews in public, demonstrating by the scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. Jeremiah 27
- 07:45
- In the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
- 07:53
- Thus says Yahweh to me, Make for yourself bonds and the bars of a yoke, and put them on your neck.
- 07:59
- And you shall send word to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the sons of Ammon, to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sinai, by the hand of messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah, king of Judah.
- 08:12
- And you shall command them to go to their masters, saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the
- 08:17
- God of Israel. Thus you shall say to your masters, I have made the earth, the men, and the animals which are on the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I will give it to the one who is right in my eyes.
- 08:32
- So now, I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, my servant, and I have given him even the wild beasts of the field to serve him.
- 08:42
- All the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his grandson, until the time of his own land comes.
- 08:48
- Then many nations and great kings will make him their servant. And it will be that the nation or the kingdom which will not serve him,
- 08:56
- Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, declares
- 09:07
- Yahweh, until I have brought it to an end by his hand. But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers, your soothsayers, or your sorcerers who speak to you, saying,
- 09:19
- You will not serve the king of Babylon. For they prophesy a lie to you in order to remove you far from your land, and I will banish you, and you will perish.
- 09:29
- But the nation which will bring its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will leave it on its land, declares
- 09:36
- Yahweh. They will serve it and inhabit it. I spoke words like all these to Zedekiah, king of Judah, saying,
- 09:44
- Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live. Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, famine, and pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken to that nation which will not serve the king of Babylon?
- 09:59
- So do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, You will not serve the king of Babylon.
- 10:05
- For they prophesy a lie to you, for I have not sent them, declares Yahweh. But they prophesy a lie in my name, in order that I may banish you, and that you may perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.
- 10:19
- Then I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus says Yahweh. Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying,
- 10:28
- Behold, the vessels of the house of Yahweh will now shortly be returned from Babylon, for they are prophesying a lie to you.
- 10:36
- Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why should this city become a waste place?
- 10:43
- But if they are prophets, and the word of Yahweh is with them, let them now intercede with Yahweh of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of Yahweh, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, may not go to Babylon.
- 10:57
- For thus says Yahweh of hosts concerning the pillars, concerning the sea, concerning the stands, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, which
- 11:07
- Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, did not take when he carried away into exile Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem.
- 11:19
- Indeed, thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, they will be brought to Babylon, and they will be there until the day
- 11:32
- I visit them, declares Yahweh. Then I will bring them up and return them to this place.
- 11:41
- Mark 13. And as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him,
- 11:47
- Teacher, behold what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings. And Jesus said to him,
- 11:53
- Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left upon another which will not be torn down.
- 12:00
- And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew were questioning him privately.
- 12:08
- Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?
- 12:13
- And Jesus began to say to them, See to it that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, saying,
- 12:20
- I am he, and will mislead many. And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed.
- 12:27
- Those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
- 12:35
- There will be earthquakes in various places. There will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pains.
- 12:43
- But see to yourselves, for they will deliver you to the courts, and you will be beaten in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake as a witness to them.
- 12:53
- And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations. And when they lead you away, delivering you up, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given to you in that hour.
- 13:05
- For it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit. And brother will betray brother to death, and a father is child.
- 13:12
- And children will rise up against parents, and have them put to death. And you will be hated by all because of my name.
- 13:19
- But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be, let the reader understand.
- 13:29
- Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. And the one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house.
- 13:38
- And the one who is in the field must not turn back to get his garment. But woe to those who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days.
- 13:46
- But pray that it may not happen in winter. For those days will be a time of tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which
- 13:55
- God created until now, and never will. And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved.
- 14:02
- But for the sake of the elect whom He chose, He shortened the days. And then if anyone says to you,
- 14:08
- Behold, here is the Christ, or, Behold, He is there, do not believe him. For false
- 14:14
- Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
- 14:21
- But as for you, see, I have told you everything in advance. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light.
- 14:32
- And the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the
- 14:38
- Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together
- 14:45
- His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven. Now learn the parable from the fig tree.
- 14:53
- When its branch has already become tender and put forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.
- 14:59
- Even so, you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
- 15:06
- Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
- 15:12
- Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven nor the sun, but the
- 15:21
- Father alone. See to it. Keep on the alert, for you do not know when the appointed time will come.
- 15:28
- It is like a man away on a journey, who, leaving his house and giving authority to his slaves, each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay awake.
- 15:39
- Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning, lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping.
