Now, I'll just take a minute to answer a question that's been written and put in the box about Daniel 9 and verse 27. So if you just turn to that verse, please, Daniel 9 and verse 27. And the question is particularly to do with or requesting elucidation as to what the flood in that verse is about.
I said verse 27. I apologize. Verse 26 is the verse concerned and Daniel 9 and 26. And after three score and two weeks after that period of time shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
And the end thereof shall be with the flood. And unto the end of the war, desolations are determined. The identification then of the flood, the Hebrew word used there is Shetef. It's a word not used very often in the Old Testament scriptures.
I won't embarrass you by asking you to turn to the book of Nahum chapter one and verse eight. You can do that in your own time. But in Nahum chapter one and verse eight, you'll have the same word used, translated the same way, flood.
And it's very clearly there a metaphor for the outpouring of divine wrath, judgment, sudden, absolute, total judgment, a flood. And so if we were to paraphrase what we've got here in verse 26, the flood is referring to the prince that shall come.
So the Romans, the people of the prince that shall come are going to destroy, we're going to destroy the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70. Of the prince himself, the prince, whose end thereof might be a better reading.
Let's just read the verse in that way. After three score and two weeks, shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, whose end thereof shall be with a flood.
That's the prince that shall come. His end will be with a flood, a torrent of divine judgment. But the continuing war, that anti-Semitism that we spoke about is going to continue right the way through until the end of the times of the Gentiles.
It's going to go right the way through until the Lord comes to establish his kingdom. I hope that's clear. The flood is a metaphor for the outpouring of divine judgment. It applies specifically to the prince that shall come.
And his end will be with that outpouring, that torrent of divine judgment, just as happened to Pharaoh, for example, in the past. I hope that suffices. Thank you, Sandy. Now, I also have a question to answer,.
But I'll incorporate it into the actual reading today. Someone has asked, can you please give us a simple breakdown of the future? And then they have added, without interruption. I don't know if that means without interruption from my brethren or without interruption in the timeline, but we'll do the best we can as time goes on.
Looking at the book of Revelation, chapter number 20, and as you're turning to it, I think I speak on behalf of my fellow speakers here to extend a very sincere thank you to the assembly for their invitation to be with you.
And I think I speak on behalf of all the visitors when I say a very sincere thank you for the very warm welcome, the hospitality that has been shown to us, and the care for all of our needs. A small assembly putting on a very, very large conference deserves a very, very significant note of thanks and appreciation.
So be commended for what you have done. A lot of sacrifice, a lot of work has gone into this weekend, and it has not gone unnoticed, but especially not unnoticed by the Lord. So we are appreciative of all of that.
So we're going to be reading. I will take my cue from my fellow brethren and divide the two hours into two different subjects. If you're looking first of all at chapter number 20, which is specifically the millennial period beginning to end, and then in chapter 21 in the second hour, looking at the eternal state.
So chapter 20 for the present, and beginning at verse number one. Now you'll notice how often he says, I saw. There actually are 10 I saws from chapter 19 through to chapter 21. A number of them punctuate chapter number 20.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain was in his hand. He laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
Now please note how often a thousand years is enunciated. And cast him into the bottomless pit, into the abyss, shut him up, set a seal upon him. He should deceive the nations no more or no longer, till the thousand years should be fulfilled.
And after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, they that sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them. And I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads or in their hands.
And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. And the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection.
On such the second death hath no power. But they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired or finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, the number of them which is as the sand of the sea.
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about. And the beloved city and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Now we have a very, very sober, solemn scene that ends this chapter, that brings to a conclusion that thousand years. And I saw a great white throne, him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away, and it was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things which are written in the books according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them. And they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Now we know that God will add his blessing to the public reading of his word. We are all here today, and we are counter-culture.
The society around us is divided. There are the humanists and secularists. And in their view, history has no meaning. In fact, one of their great proponents, I think it was Stephen Hawking, said, I don't know why the universe goes to the trouble of existing.
It has no meaning, no destination. To the Eastern mind, history is circular, repetitive. So you get reincarnation. It has no direction, no resolution. We are here looking at the fact that God has a purpose for history.
God has a destination to which he has been moving before ever the world began. And he's been working out his purposes in time, and he will consummate it in what we are looking at in these chapters before us in the Bible reading today.
Chapter 20, the millennial reign of Christ, and chapter number 21, the eternal state. Keep in mind, as someone has said, God has told us yesterday about tomorrow, so we will know how to live today. Please get that.
If we leave these Bible readings just with the fact that brethren disagreed about certain things, and there was discussion and differences of opinion, we will lose the value of prophecy. God told us yesterday in the past about what is going to happen tomorrow, so it will make us know how to live today.
And so this reading and the readings that have preceded should have a practical effect upon our lives. And I hope that we'll leave this Bible reading, not because I'm opening it, but because of the subject matter.
We will end on the great theme of the centrality of Christ for all eternity. And if he is central to God for all eternity, I think it goes without saying, he should be central to each of us right now.
So that is the goal to which we are moving, and we trust that God will give us help there. Now, I had in my mind, because I can be a bit devious at times, the thought of reading all of the scriptures in the Old Testament that relate to the millennium, and that would have kept us busy the entire hour, and there would be no discussion, no difference of opinion, and we move on to chapter 21 when we're done.
Because the Word of God, your Bible is filled with teaching and truth about the millennial reign of Christ. Not just the Old Testament. You might be surprised, the New Testament contains a tremendous amount of teaching relative to the millennial reign of Christ.
The Gospels, the Epistle to the Hebrews, here in Revelation, it's all here. You go back to the Old Testament, you have a feast that typified it, the Feast of Tabernacles. You had a reign, the reign of Solomon, that gives us a little forelimb of what that is going to be like.
When every man was dwelling at ease under his vine and under his fig tree, and Israel was at peace, and their borders were expanding. And then we have the longing in the Psalms for God to come in. The cry, was it 19 times over?
How long, O Lord? How long is a long for God to vindicate, for God to come in righteousness and judge the earth? And I would think that that is also the cry of many of us. How long, O Lord? Not just for the rapture.
How long is evil going to go unpunished? How long is righteousness going to be scorned and snubbed by humanity? How long until Christ gets his rightful place and is owned as he ought to be owned? So you get the Psalms and the cry and the longing of the hearts of the Psalmist.
You come to the prophets and you have the unfolding of truth, whether we go to Isaiah 2, 11, 35, 61, 64, and where our brethren were in the book of Daniel. And some of the figures, you have those three men in the furnace, don't you?
Accompanied by the Son of God, protected and preserved in the furnace in the book of Daniel. So you have pictures throughout the Old Testament, as well as prophecies. And so the Old Testament is filled with teaching about the millennial reign of Christ.
Now, we've only read a chapter, and in that chapter there's only a very few verses that deal with the actual reign of Christ. But our brethren are going to flesh that out and give us other teaching relative to it that comes from other parts of the Word of God.
But for the sake of time, we're just looking at this chapter and concentrating on it and going down it together. So the first three verses, so we follow it in an orderly fashion. The first three verses tell us of the removal of Satan.
The removal of Satan. Then when we come to verses 4 to 6, we have the reign of Christ. Then we'll look at the reasons. We have to look at the reasons. Why has God dictated that there will be a millennial kingdom?
What's its purpose? The reasons for the millennium. The regeneration of the earth, or the renovation of the earth, however you wish to express it. The earth is going to be regenerated, renewed. It's interesting that, and maybe our brethren will comment on this, Romans chapter 8.
Sin came in by a man. Creation was placed in bondage because of a man. Now the whole creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God that it can be released from the bondage into which it was placed.
Be interesting to look at that and consider why God has so ordained it as such. We'll look as well at the rebellion which occurs at the end and note something about the significance of after 1 ,000 years of idyllic paradise on earth.
When Satan is released, he's able to find individuals who will readily, willingly choose him and sin over every blessing that God could pour upon a regenerated earth. The final test, I think our brother Sona mentioned that each dispensation is a new test of humanity, of man.
And once again, man chose himself to be a failure under the very best of conditions, choosing anything other than God. And finally then, as we'll see, the righteous judgment of God and the great white throne at the conclusion.
Now, just quickly an idea of a timeline. I hope I'm answering the question that was asked. The next great event in God's timeline, I'm not referring to our brother Coulson who handled the 70 weeks so well acceptably, so we're just going to look at the very next event is the coming of the Lord Jesus.
Could occur at any moment. An any moment rapture, an imminent rapture. The word of God is very clear about that. Then after that, and there may be, there likely will be a gap of time, an interval of time, there will be the arising of the man of sin, the signing of a covenant with the nation of Israel, promising them safety and security, peace and safety.
In the middle of that week, possibly because of a victory over invading enemies, he will cause the oblation, the sacrifices to cease and ask that all, demand that all worship be centered in him. That's the middle of the week.
Then we have what is called the period of great tribulation, Jacob's trouble, the last three and a half weeks. That will end with the manifestation of the Son of God, the Son of Man. It is possibly what we have, those who love his appearing, the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our brother read in 2 Thessalonians chapter 1, who, the brightness of his coming, the manifestation, all of that, that will bring to an end, coming in at the judgment that will come upon the beast and false prophet.
Then we come to where we are reading in chapter number 20. Prior to the onset of the millennium, we have the final, I'll use the word installment and use it very carefully, the final installment of the first resurrection.
We have been raised at the rapture. Now, I know there are difference of opinion. I would take it that Old Testament saints will be raptured, will be raised prior to the millennium, along with those who have been martyred and they will enjoy resurrection and new life.
Those who have been saved, those who have been sealed and have come through the period of great tribulation and the Gentile nations that have been saved will go into the millennium. They will go in with natural bodies.
They will not have glorified bodies. They will not have part in the first resurrection because they never die. Okay, so because they have natural bodies, they will have natural offspring and those natural offspring will be just like your children and mine and you and I, they will need to be saved.
And it is from those children, we're looking at a thousand years, so we're looking at a huge population explosion. It's during those thousand years that people will grow up and we'll look at as we come to it where they will feign obedience, submission to the Lord Jesus.
But as they go through those thousand years when suddenly Satan is available and he goes out to deceive the people on the four corners of the earth, and that could be literal and there may be a reason why it's literal, there's a great company that follow him.
And we've read of that here, they will encompass the beloved city and there's no battle, just they're destroyed in a moment of time again. And we then have the final judgment we have here and we'll talk about why this is necessary, the great white throne of judgment, and then we are brought into an eternal state.
And I'm skipping a few things because we'll deal with that in the second reading together, but just a broad sweep. Now having said that, I am disturbed because a number of young Christians have mentioned to me just confusion.
You see men who, able men who study their Bibles and they have difference of opinion. And so what do we do? And if they disagree, then how do we know what's right? Please be assured, every one of the men here are absolutely on the same page when it comes to God's timeline for his son.
Our differences are details, are minor things. Please do not leave, do not leave these Bible readings with the idea these men have differed. So maybe the men we hear on radio or radio, sorry that's dating myself, the men we listen to on YouTube and the men that we hear on YouTube and other media, maybe they're right too.
Please do not leave with that thought in your mind. We are absolutely in agreement about the major points we have discussed already. So please, and I hope that in our reading today we'll be able to emphasize for you, our unity, well there are going to be some differences, especially in the second reading, but they are differences that scholars have spilled ink over, that's also dating myself, have filled pages on the internet over, okay?
Scrolls, okay? The papyrus. Anyway, but you'll understand what I'm saying. We want you to leave with the appreciation that we are in absolute agreement relative to God's purposes for his son, for the future, and his people.
As we mentioned, I think our brother Colson introduced it for us, his purposes for the Gentiles, his purposes for Israel, his purposes for the church, his purposes for Christ. We are in absolute agreement about all of that.
So please, hopefully, leave with that assurance in your mind. Now with that before us, I've taken quite a bit of time. We're going to begin in chapter number 20, try to do it in a very, I would say, orderly way, and yet at the same time hopefully be able to give you some material to develop on your own.
Bible reading should stimulate your own interest in studying the portion when you go home. It's not going to answer all your questions, but it should stimulate interest and encourage you to delve into it in greater detail yourselves.
Now with that, unless any have a general comment to make, we'll begin at verse number one and consider together chapter number 20. So in the first three verses we have the angel, we have the adversary, and we have the abyss.
Now we're not told who this angel is. There may be some speculation, but give a thought. No, doesn't tell us. Doesn't tell us. So it's just an angel. Interesting that all it takes is one angel. Just takes one angel to imprison Satan for a thousand years.
Can we get some help on these names and the significance of them, why they're all brought together here? Four different titles or names used for Satan, the adversary, the dragon, the serpent. What do they all indicate?
Why these different names? Well, they all indicate opposition to the purpose of God in various ways, whether what he does, what he says, who he is. So the serpent would take us way back.
To Genesis, wouldn't it? That's right. And remind us. It's his whole career so far, isn't it? It's his whole career.
And God is about to undo everything that Satan has done. It reminds us the serpent did this, my son is going to do this. Going to undo it all. Now that is Hebrews chapter 2, and we'll look at.
That hopefully as we have an opportunity to. He's the old serpent here. Yes. So it's showing that he's a lot of experience in his subtlety. Yeah. You know, and the dragon, I take it, he'd be fierce, a fierce adversary.
But that against whom particularly? The dragon is introduced against which people? Israel.
Israel. So the dragon is Israel here, okay? He's against Israel. The old serpent would be against all.
Mankind. Yes. In his subtlety. Satan would be particularly against the people of God, the adversary.
The accuser. The accuser of the brethren. So we're brought to, these names are not just a nice way of kind of, like we do when you had to write a thousand page essay at school. You look at the thesaurus for synonyms or words that will fill in.
No. These are specific titles that are giving us to see God is about to deal with what has been the problem for humanity ever since the Garden of Eden. And he is going to deal with him in all of his evil, in all of his subtlety and deception.
The devil is the false accuser. So he's the author of false news.
I do wonder whether the dragon comes first, because it's not otherwise chronological, is it? No. You know, if this is his career, we'd expect it to start with a serpent. But the fact that he's the dragon, and that's how he appears, a great red dragon in chapter 12.
Do we, could we possibly suppose that the devil who is himself an angel and therefore a spirit being, that he in chapter 12 assumed a tangible presence, a physical presence as the great red dragon, and hence as a physical being, he can be chained.
There's no point taking a chain to a spirit, really, is there? That's only conjecture. But I think that happened in Genesis 6. Spirit beings took on a corporeal being. That's not to be sidetracked, it's just to give an example.
And hence now the devil possibly has done the same thing in chapter 12. He certainly did it in Genesis 3. He did also. With the serpent, yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So he's physically chained and put in the abyss.
Is this one like proof text that this must be future? That he's bound?
Okay, that's very good because you'll hear people who do not believe in a future for Israel and a future millennium will say, this happened at Calvary. Now the problem is if it happened at Calvary, then when Satan is loosed, you have an undoing of Calvary, which is totally, I don't want to say wrong, it's just blasphemous.
You have no undoing of the work of Christ at Calvary. Now, please understand what we just said, what our brother introduced. If the binding and the casting of Satan into the abyss occurred at Calvary, as many Amillennius will try to teach, then the loosing of Satan must be the undoing of the work of Calvary.
And it cannot be, obviously.
Is this abyss a physical place?
I would take it this is a physical location. Yes. Don't forget, we are in a three-dimensional world. And there's lots of things we're going to be looking at that are outside of our box. And it may well be, it is a physical location.
Perhaps one we're not able to locate, but it is a physical location. What had you thought? I'm sorry.
I thought it indicates the thought of falling away continually from God. So if it's a physical place, the place where God dwells, and he's put into a place where he's going to be continually falling away, bottomless pit.
Okay.
Okay, good. There are specific locations such as Tartarus that we read of. Another, I don't want to introduce that. The swine, you remember the gospels that were sent to the deep, which would be the same thought here.
There are demons that emerge out of the bottomless pit during the period of the tribulation, they're loosed. Would you take it that this is a specific location for, that is reserved for a specific purpose, different than Hades or a compartment of Hades?
How would you see that?
I would just say this is a separate compartment, a separate place. And it's great purposes to, he might deceive the nations no longer. So it'll be a thousand years during which Satan will not be able to influence the thinking and actions of men.
So it's like a holding chamber. A holding, yeah, a prison, a holding chamber, if you will. Okay, before we go on, anyone, any comments on verses one to three before we proceed? Because this is coming out to the major portion that we want to look at.
So again, just to emphasize the reason the devil is bound is to prove what you were saying in your opening, the heart of man. That doesn't need the, that's the reason, right? Right. Okay. Well, yes.
The chief reason I would say is that now men will be, okay, I'm jumping ahead a bit. Think about what the millennium will be like. Every excuse that men have ever used to refuse the gospel will be removed.
Okay. Satan is the cause. Satan's not around. What about the heathen that never heard? The earth is going to be filled with the knowledge of the Lord. No one ever came back to tell us, there'll be a lot come back to tell us.
How do we know the word of God is true? Well, God has fulfilled his word right in front of your eyes. It's all because of social injustice, all because of poverty, all that's going to be gone. There will be not one excuse that men use today to reject Christ.
That will be a viable excuse during the millennium. And yet when it's done without any excuse, men say, we don't care. We want Satan instead of Christ.
So go ahead. Would you want to speak? No, no. Okay. First three then that he should deceive the nations no more. So that just, that just is emphasizing for Babylon has fallen. That was a result of deception.
Those that went in for that and Satan had his man as the figurehead of it all. He's going to deceive the nations no more because the beast has been taken, right? Removed.
Without getting too sidetracked, the prince of this world. When did that begin?
When is that going to end? Well, I think when Adam surrendered the dominion that God had put into his hands, when he surrendered it into the hands of the devil in chapter three. And from that point on, the whole world has lain in the hands of the wicked one.
Okay. So the statement till the thousand years should be fulfilled is far more than chronological. It's purpose. Oh, yes. Yeah.
Very good. Okay. Can we come to verses four to six now and look together at the reign of Christ? And we have to consider lots of things here. Who are these reigning with them? Who are the citizens of this kingdom, first of all?
And what is the character of this kingdom? We'll look at that and get some help on some of these different points. So we're told here about those he saw thrones, they that sat upon them. You recall our brother mentioned to us in one of his ministry, one of his Bible readings yesterday about the promise or the statement to the Corinthian assembly about judging angels, administration.
The Lord Jesus was at the church at Thyatira that they would rule with him with a rod of iron. So at least we have the intimation that amongst those who are going to be reigning with Christ in a heavenly administration, the church, that would be you and would be me.
Okay. That's one. Who else? Let's get some help here.
Do you see the apostles? You shall sit on 12 thrones. Do you see that here? Judging the 12 tribes of Israel? Certainly. Okay. There's the elect ones of Matthew 24 and there's the sheep of Matthew 25. Okay.
What about Old Testament saints? Yes, I take it that they have been resurrected. My view is that they will have a place in the heavenly city. Okay.
I think that's Hebrews chapter 12. Hebrews chapter 12 introduces us to the heavenly city, Zion. And we are told there about those who are part of its inhabitants. Those who are on the role, the census role.
The church of the firstborn ones written in heaven. Spirits of men made... Spirits of men... Just men. Just men made perfect. Okay. The mobile company of angels and festive array and so on. So we have that picture for us here.
So we have these who are reigning with Christ over the earth. The church, Old Testament saints, the martyred, and so on. Anyone else to add to that list?
Where would you go specifically to... We have the judgment seat of Christ for reward for us. But Old Testament saints, just curious where you would go. I know we have pictures with David's mighty men and so on.
But the parables, for example, of the faithfulness and the talents and the... Yeah. Yeah.
Holy cities and so forth. Right. Yeah. I would make the suggestion for consideration only that perhaps this is all earthly in chapter 20. Okay. It's the earthly administration maybe. Because in the next chapter, we then go to the holy city.
We look at the heavenly administration. But that's not to take anything away from what's been said. It's maybe just possibly limited to the earthly administration. Okay.
And to support our brother, William's mention about Old Testament saints being raised. We don't have time. Daniel chapter 12. Yes. Stand in thy lot at the end of the days. Go thy way, Daniel. So Daniel chapter 12 would give us the timeline for the resurrection of Old Testament saints.
And then link with that what our brother Frank has brought up. Then they will be rewarded according to their faithfulness to the Lord Jesus.
Daniel 12, that thou shalt stand in my lot. I don't necessarily read into that. That's the point of resurrection. I take it that at that point, he's already been raised. But he will have his place allocated, his role allocated to him.
And he will enter that at the end of those days. Okay. Many shall rise.
Some do everlasting judgment. Some do... Speaks about resurrection in that chapter. It does. Yeah. So the changes in the millennial earth. Our brethren hopefully will come in on this. There will be topographical changes.
There will be agricultural changes. There will be socioeconomic changes. There will be moral changes. There will be governmental changes. There'll be spiritual changes. Talk about renovation. Talk about a regeneration.
There will be changes at every single level of human life. So give us some help with some of these changes. What about topographical? What's going to happen to the, what we call the earth? Even, well, let's just center on the holy land as they call it.
Well, we know that when the Lord touch his feet, touch the Mount of Olives, it will divide. But I think probably a key passage. Which is essential to understand is Isaiah 65. In that chapter, we read, behold, I create a new heavens and a new earth.
Which is definitely to be distinguished between that chapter and Revelation 21. So the new heavens and the new earth of Isaiah 65 are at the beginning of the millennium. And it's interesting to note that the word used there, I create a new heavens, a new earth.
That word for new has been used in chapter 61, I think it is. And there it's translated repair. So at the beginning, bear in mind, earth is wrecked when the Lord returns to it. It's going to need an act of recreation, a creatorial act, to immediately repair a shattered earth and prepare it for the millennium.
When you repair something that's precious and broken, you seek to bring it back as close to its original state as possible. And my suggestion would be that when the Lord repairs the heaven and the earth, they will go back to what they were before the Noahic flood.
That there will be one landmass, surrounded by water, and that will be the setting of the millennial earth. That would be my suggestion.
And to expand on that a little bit, let's appreciate that, is there will be one language as well in all the earth, right? Isaiah, is it four, is it that tells us about one language that all the people then will be able to work together?
And we're agreed that's Malayalam, aren't we, brother? And the food is Indian, that's right. The food is Indian, definitely. Welsh, I heard it was Welsh. I thought we'd all speak English. It's Malayalam because it takes eternity to learn it.
But that's probably the same as Welsh.
So Zephaniah 3, I think it's verse 9, there will be a pure language. That all be able to worship the Lord. I was thinking of light.
Light will be increased too as well. That could possibly add to the overabundance of reaping and so on.
So there'll be tremendous topographical changes on earth, likely caused by those earthquakes, tremendous earthquakes at the end of the tribulation. Every mountain and hill shall be brought low. The crooked made straight, the rough places plain.
Isaiah 40. And so on, yeah. Barren places will be made fruitful. The desert will blossom like the rose and so on. So there will be climatic changes too, won't there? And Jerusalem will become a port city.
Yes. So will all this be global?
I think changes will be global. Yes, the changes will be.
But will it be... Some, I think, have the idea that, you know, there's just going to be like a global paradise. But Zechariah 14 says that... Unless they... Unless kings come up and keep the feast at Jerusalem, there'll be pestilence and there'll be famine.
And then we have to think to ourselves, where's this outer darkness? Yes. So I think outer darkness is physical. I wonder whether in the millennial earth, the focal point will be Zion. It will be the eminence.
This is Psalm 48. And the light from an open heaven, the light of the heavenly Jerusalem, will be shining down upon earth. You imagine a torch. Now, I'm in the wrong place to use this illustration. Because I would say a torch shining on a football.
I'm talking about a football. Okay. A football's... Round. Spherical. It isn't egg-shaped or whatever it is. It's spherical. Okay. So a real football, a biblical football. Soccer ball. Yeah, a soccer ball.
Thank you very much. That's in the Greek. So you have a... You shine a torch on a football. You have a circle of light. Beyond that, outer darkness. And men in the millennium who hate the reign of Christ but can't do anything about it because of that rod of iron.
John says men love darkness rather than light. There'll be a migration of unrepentant sinners into the darkness. And that's where the great unnumbered armies come from at the end when Satan's released from the abyss and he finds this innumerable company ready to rebel.
I think there are wicked unrepentant sinners who have migrated from the light out into the darkness and probably like those in Egypt at the time of the plagues. They'll be in a darkness that could be felt.
And to add to their frustration, the Bible says they'll be weeping, they'll be gnashing of teeth. Not in pain but in frustration because there's a man ruling and reigning and they can't do anything about it.
And to add to their torment, they can't see the hand in front of their face but they can see those who are in the light as the Egyptians could see Israel. They could see those who are enjoying the light and it's only their own intransigence that stops them from stepping from darkness into light.
That's... sorry to take your time.
I was going to say, it's very interesting. You don't read of the name Jerusalem for the earthly center. No. It's the beloved city? It's the beloved city of Zion. Okay. Now, significantly, the difference between Jerusalem and Zion.
Could you help us there? You mentioned it yesterday and I just want to... I think it's a good point to bring up. Zion is mentioned I think 37 times in the Psalms. The city of... it's linked with joy, linked with blessing, linked with...
You know, it's really looking forward to this millennial day. Beautiful for situation. Beautiful situation. The joy of all the earth, Zion. So give us some help as to Zion in contrast to Jerusalem.
Yes, I think Zion is really the place that is the... It will not only be a city, it will be a temple. It will be a temple city. It's not a city with a temple in it. It's a city that is a temple. It's the center of earth's administration.
It's the center of earth's worship. That's what Babylon was a counterfeit of. Yes. That's why God judged it as severely as he did. So it's interesting that way back at the beginning when pride was arising in the heart of Lucifer in Isaiah chapter 14, one of his ambitions was, I will ascend into the sides of the north.
And whatever that expression means, you only read it once more in your Bible. Psalm 48, Zion. Beautiful for situation in the sides of the north. So therefore in Isaiah 14, right at the beginning, the kingdom is from the foundation of the world.
Satan said, I'll be on that throne.
And that's what he's looking for. And actually the first mention of Zion in the Psalms, Psalm number two, yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. So Zion is God dealing in grace with the nation in view of the glory that is yet ahead.
A place where God is worshiped, but Satan sought that worship, right? Yes.
So as far as life expectancy and other changes,.
Are we at that point? Okay, tell us about that from Isaiah 65.
So it says that a person who dies at a hundred will be considered a child. So it also tells us there'll be death during this time. So that means this is not now, I was going to save this for later,.
But let me bring it in now. There is a book that is very popular among believers. Purporting to tell us all about heaven. And I don't want to take away from some of the lovely things that are in it, but he makes the tragic mistake of linking Isaiah 65 with revelation 21 and saying that they're the same.
And they're not. Just because they're each called new heavens and new earth. As our brother mentioned in Isaiah 65, there's death. There's the curse. He takes from that all the animals. He talks about animals being in heaven.
How nice it'll be to have your pets in heaven. Maybe there will be pets in heaven, but I won't take it from Isaiah 65. Okay. Isaiah 65 is millennial with death and with a curse. Revelation 21, the curse is gone.
There's no, it's just totally different.
Good health will be normal in Isaiah 35. Now the eyes of the blind shall be open. The years of the death shall be on stop. Then shall the lame man leap as in heart and the tongue of the dumb shall sing.
The Lord Jesus gave evidences of his messiahship while he was here on earth, but those conditions really belong to the millennium.
Very good. So that those who are genuine believers in the Lord Jesus will live through the millennium. You would agree with that, William? Absolutely. They will live to be a thousand years of age and they will then go in.
Well, eventually their bodies will be changed and they'll be part of the new heavens and new earth eternally. Is that a supposition that they'll live for the thousand years? That is a supposition because it says the sinner will die.
Yes. Yeah. And also there's no, they would have to be part of the first resurrection.
Yeah. I'm thinking about those who, for example, in Isaiah 66, when the nation's recovered and there are those brought in from other nations, they're brought in on stretchers and litters. There's sick people.
There's old people who survive the tribulation come into the millennium. Do we suppose that they will be healed and live for another thousand years? I had thought so. Okay. And with respect, I'm not being cheeky now.
You thought so.
Is there a scripture that would teach us that? Well, evidently there'll be a regeneration, right? There'll be a miraculous regeneration.
There'll be none sick. Doesn't say there'll be no, no, no one sick.
Well, that's what I'm asking. Is there a scripture that says these people who have gone in sick and weary and old into the millennium, will they be rejuvenated? Will they live for a thousand years, old and weary?
It's a genuine question. I don't know of a scripture that says there won't be death.
The life of my people shall be as the life of a tree. And some trees...
So it's talking about longevity. Longevity, yep. Wouldn't the fact, though, that blessed is he that hath part in the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection.
If they die, when are they going to be resurrected then? Oh, we'll come on to that, won't we?
I am kind of preloading the gun. I'm just, I'm interested.
Don't fight. Okay, so we're looking at some of the changes, that longevity has been mentioned, the topographical changes, agricultural changes. What are we told in the word of God about the agriculture of the millennium?
Isaiah 35 again, for in the wilderness shall waters break out, streams in the desert. Wilderness and the sultry place shall be glad for them. The desert shall rejoice and blossom as a rose. It shall blossom abundantly.
But then there's another scripture about... Sower will overtake... Yes, that's it. So crop schools... Being a farmer will be great. What's that? Being a farmer will be great. Being a farmer will be great.
You'll finally be able to make ends meet.
So... They'll still complain. You know, the nature's still there, brother. Yeah, there'll still be fallen nature. So there'll be agricultural changes. I'm not in any way diminishing our responsibility as stewards of the earth to be conscious of our responsibility.
But all the issues of climate change, all the issues of how we're going to feed the starving multitudes, they'll all be things of the past. Yes. Everything will be taken care of in this new renovated earth.
Every problem solved by the one who is the administrator. Wonderful thing about the Lord Jesus, when he reigns, he will need no cabinet to advise him. Absolutely. His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Prince of Peace.
There will be peace all over the earth. No more wars.
Peace will reign or dwell in the millennium. Peace will reign. When we get to the eternal day, we'll see a big difference. The idea that peace reigns means that he will enforce peace. Yes. With a rod of iron.
Yes, absolutely. No rebellion will be allowed. No open rebellion will be allowed. So that he will rule with a rod of iron. And he will need no cabinet. He will need no army. He will need no administration.
I mean, we will be administering with him, but you don't understand what I'm saying. He is the one who is wisdom itself and will be able to handle everything on his own.
It's interesting that the United Nations has Isaiah 2 right in front of it. But this sums up what we've been talking about. Verse 4,. And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nations shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. O house of Jacob, come ye and let us walk in the light of the Lord.
You Midwesterners who don't know there's a city called New York. On the UN building, that inscription is present. Donated, believe it or not, or provided by what was then the Soviet Union. The irony of it, okay?
Yeah, the irony of that. Okay, Daniel, you were going to say something? I was going to say just in Hebrews 2, that it's not merely that's the Lord Jesus, but this is the last Adam, right? The second man.
Yes. This is the reason why the creation is like this. This is the fulfillment of... Okay, this is one of... Our brother has very helpfully brought us.
To one of the reasons for the millennium. Hebrews 2, you have to go back to it, look at it in detail yourself. God intended for a man to rule and have dominion on the earth. Psalm 2, Hebrews 2. Possibly, and this is conjecture, forgive me for being...
Possibly Satan thought that should be mine. That should not be Adam, that should be mine. So I am going to ruin God's plan. And so he caused Adam to lose dominion. Satan sat back and thought, I've done it.
I've ruined God's plan. God said, there's a second Adam. There's a last Adam coming. And so you come down to Hebrews 2, we see not yet all things that are in subjection to him, but we do see Jesus. He's crowned with glory and honor.
And you come down that chapter, he is going to reverse. He took as much as the children of our takers of flesh and blood, he likewise took part of the same that through death he might destroy or render powerless him that had the power of death, that is the devil.
He has undone, undone everything that Satan brought into the world. And he will reign as a man. And I would take it, now I know there'll be flack on this, bringing many sons to glory is not to heaven.
It's the millennial glory. I agree.
Could we have a moment of silence? Do you know, I think we might be in the millennium already.
There's peace, peace on earth. Verse five, verse five there is very pertinent. Unto which of the angels hath he put in subjection the world to come whereof we speak? It's not going to be in an angelic hand.
It's going to be in a man's hand.
Yes, yes. And the reversion from angelic authority to the hands of Christ is in Revelation four and five. That's what those two chapters are all about. How does that transfer of power back into the hands of a man?
I was just going to say on that in Genesis one, it says that God blessed them and told them to have dominion. Yes. So it's not just the man. So Christ will be with his bride having dominion over this millennium.
Very good.
Just before you move on, there's one scripture that I think is one of the nicest about the millennium. Can I read it? Yep. Zechariah chapter eight and verse five about Zion. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
That still brings tears to my eyes because our kids are being abused dreadfully today in what they're being taught, in the way they're having their childhood snatched from them. Brethren, sisters, pray for the moms and dads.
Pray for the kids. God hedged them about because there's a deliberate move in this wicked age to pervert the minds of these children. What a wonderful feature. The streets will be full of boys and girls playing.
Micah four, another beautiful thought. They shall sit every man under his vine and fig tree and none shall make them afraid. None shall make them afraid.
You'll tie a donkey to a choice vine in those days. You can tie it to the choice vine because the vines are plentiful, but the nature of the donkey's changed as well. It's not going to wreck it.
I was only going to say that we had talked about Adam and God's intention for a man, but I think it's important for us to understand that this is not a stopgap measure. This is not something that God intended for Adam.
It was always God's intention to bring in his son to have this dominion. It is his place ultimately.
If we had time, it would be lovely to look at the credentials of the Lord Jesus to reign. Look at Psalm 24, creatorial, moral, and military, if you will, or however you want to view it. Psalm 24 is not the Lord entering into heaven.
It's the Lord Jesus entering into the city after his conquest to claim it, to claim the crown. Lovely to think. He went through the gates once and the drunkards sang about him. He's going to go through the gates again to the course of the people of God.
Amen. Lovely to think of. Yes. Yeah. Okay, time is going quickly. Anything else? I mean, I hate to say anything else about this millennial kingdom. There's so much. Anything we want to add about the millennial kingdom?
What about the temple and the priests and so on? It's praise.
Okay. Our brother has brought us to Ezekiel 40 to 48. Yes. Which is a huge issue to cover, but there will be a restored. Brother has mentioned a rebuilt temple. The Lord Jesus will likely orchestrate it and bring it about creatorially.
There will be a priesthood raised up and there will be a prince who sits upon the throne representing the Lord. I take it to be David, literally.
This has to stop, brother. One of us is wrong, obviously. Is David reincarnated in a natural body, able to have sons?
That is a difficulty.
But I would take it as David. And he offers sin offerings for his offspring? For his offspring. See, okay. Well, I would take it that it's a man called David of the lineage of David in a natural body with a fallen nature and so on.
Okay, fine. What we would refer to as a vice regent.
Yes, a vice regent. Some young Christians may wonder, why will there be offerings in the millennial period? I thought the work of Christ was sufficient. I thought there's no more sacrifices for sin. The Lord Jesus in his death did away with all of the ceremonial sacrifice.
Why sacrifices in the millennium? Are they going to be anticipatory or are they going to be instructive? Yeah, instructive. Commemorative and instructive. Commemorative and instructive. Just as our brother this morning took us to the peace offering to learn something of God's ways and God's provision for us, they will then look at those offerings and from those offerings, they will learn what Christ did for them and they will learn what God has in store for them.
So they will be commemorative and they will be instructive in the millennial period.
And so people will travel to Jerusalem to learn of the Lord, right?
Ten men shall take hold of the skirts of him that is a Jew. Yes. Let us go with you. And our brother mentioned the nations have to come up yearly or else there will be no rain on their crops and so on.
So this is a great time, tremendous time for the world, but it has an end. Now, and I say that carefully. The angel said to Mary, he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
So when I say it's going to come to an end, I don't mean the kingdom of the Lord Jesus is coming to an end. I mean, this idyllic time, this thousand year reign will have an end. And that's where we want to come to now.
This final rebellion against God and against his Christ. So what verse do you want us in now, Sandy? So we're at verse seven, verse seven to seven to nine. So I guess someone has to answer for us.
Well, we haven't had the first resurrection yet, have we? Oh, well, that's first five in my Bible. Okay. Do we have that? Did I? No, no, I'm rushing. I'm sorry. Okay. Trying to cover everything. No. Well, just explain to us, dear brother, please, why this is called the first resurrection when obviously a resurrection has already taken place at the rapture.
Why is it called the first resurrection? I've referred to it. It's the resurrection to life. And it occurs in installments. We're just, okay, I can see we're finally.
Is it falling apart? Oh, well, the millennium had to end. Well, we're not going through the tribulation, please.
I would take it that it's called the first resurrection because it is linked with a resurrection to life. Oh, the believers of this dispensation, the Old Testament leaders, the martyred saints, and then the second resurrection.
Those who do not have part in it are raised to judgment. But you have a different idea.
No, I don't think we're on the same page. It's just that it's a genuine question because some of these dear believers will be looking at this and saying, well, why is it called the first resurrection when it's not in time?
But of course, what revelation is doing, what the book is doing, it's tying up. It's making an end of prophecy, isn't it? That's one of the things that we read in Daniel yesterday. So it's tying up all the loose ends of prophecy.
And the prophetic scriptures only knew of two resurrections. The two resurrections it knew of were qualitative. There was a resurrection of the just and a resurrection of the unjust. What wasn't revealed in the Old Testament was that there would be a time period between them.
So, Lord, if thou has been here, my brother had not died. These dear folks believed in a general resurrection, didn't they? So the qualitative difference, first and second, we're now seeing that there's a time difference as well of a thousand years.
But these are the two resurrections of which prophecy has spoken. The resurrection associated with the rapture was a secret in scripture as the rapture itself. So it's not talking about chronology as such.
It's just taking up the two resurrections that the prophetic scripture knows about. And it's saying this is the first of them. And by the way, there's a thousand years between them now. That's helpful.
Every man in his own order, Christ the firstfruits. There's resurrection. Afterward, they there are Christ that is coming. And that will bring the first resurrection to a conclusion.
So the first resurrection includes the resurrection of Christ as well. Would you say or some teach? No, I was confused. It like that, Brother Frank. I'm just, you know, because some teach that it starts with Christ.
Then the New Testament saints, Old Testament saints.
And yeah, we're talking now about things which were known in the prophetic scriptures, right? There were two resurrections which are there in the book of Daniel as well. One of the just one of the unjust.
So all we knew at that time, a qualitative difference. But now this scripture tying it all up is saying, by the way, there's also a time difference between them as well. There's a first and a second.
Yes. Okay, we do have to move for the sake of time. Some may wonder we have Gog and Magog brought in here. I thought they were taken care of back in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Thousand years before. What's that?
No, no, no. Three and a half years before. No, you're right. This is at the end of the thousand years. So thousand three. A thousand three and a half years. Thank you. Maybe it's not the same Gog and Magog.
Okay, so why are they called Gog and Magog? This is not the Gog and Magog that attack Israel. Either prior to the tribulation or in the middle of the tribulation, depending on your view. Why are they called Gog and Magog here?
Some would suggest that they're more sort of like military titles. Okay. Like a general and his armies, you know, that it's not specific personalities. I think what it's pointing out is that the rebellion is already arising amongst these innumerable people.
They've got a leader. They've got a coordinated rebellion on the build up. And all it needs now is the release of Satan to trigger it. Some of the galvanizing.
If the millennial earth looks like how you described it, then Gog and Magog would be at the out, like the outer. That's right. Four corners.
Periphery. Which would tie in with the outer darkness idea. Right, yeah.
So Ezekiel 38 was mentioned where you've Gog, the prince. Yes. So there's the military leader. And then Magog, the peoples. That's the peoples of the peoples. Yes. So history in that sense, repeating itself, be a leader and a throng with them.
Yes. Making an advance on the holy city. Yes, yeah.
Well, what would support that is just writing the verse, right? The four quarters of the earth, the nations, Gog and Magog. Yeah.
And it ends summarily by the Lord's judgment of them. We read here, the devil to deceive them was cast. Well, first of all, verse nine. They went up to the breadth of the earth, encompassed the camp, and fire comes down from God out of heaven and devours them.
So they are summarily dismissed in a moment of time. No battle, really. And the devil that deceived them is cast into the lake of fire where the beast and false prophet are.
Not where, are. You've described quite rightly the millennium as a time almost approaching paradise conditions. But we must remember that for an unregenerate sinner born in the millennium, it is the worst time in the whole of human history for a sinner to live.
Very good. Because at the moment they migrate to the cities. They can, you know, this is man's day. It seems that God doesn't care and all kinds of sin and wickedness pervade the earth. But the Lord in his omniscience, he's a man, but he is, he's still got every divine attribute.
The Lord in his omniscience will know anywhere in his administration where there is disorder and the rod of iron will come down. So I think that's one of the things that will drive these unrepentant sinners into the after darkness because they can't find a moment to express their sinful nature without the rod of iron comes down.
It will be a perfect administration of righteousness.
Let me go back to one, not to delay you, but will death be the only punitive response in the kingdom, in the millennial kingdom? Because I often hear that, we read that, that death will be, will there be other aspects of punitive judgment to get these people, for example, some will be cast into outer darkness?
I'm just asking that. There won't only be one extreme answer, punishment. He will reign in righteousness. What he does will be right.
No, I'm not questioning that. I'm questioning the type of judgment that will be meted out.
One thing I don't think there will be is imprisonment. Imprisonment always carries a pejorative sense in scripture, you know, that it's the popular form of punishment in all countries, really, but it was never God's intention.
And so horrible, though it might seem to us, when you go back to the ways in which Israel had to live, especially when they were in the wilderness, if a man proved himself to be incorrigibly or seriously unfit to dwell in society, he was just, his life was taken.
So I don't think we should sneer at the idea that death might be the only ultimate sanction.
There were also those that were put outside the camp.
There were, yes, yeah.
Do we, do we learn here,. I don't want to hold you back either, Sandy, but do we learn here the, like if, as you've described it, everyone who goes into this kingdom are believers, then this army are believers' children.
Mm-hmm.
They are the offspring, yes. They were born during this thousand-year period of time.
So for us today in evangelism, sometimes believers' children are 75 of the way there in our minds. I mean, we can think, oh, you know, they've got most of it, but here they form an army for the devil at the end of the age.
So I think it helps us to see the human heart that is anti-God.
Yeah, very good. Our, yeah, our brother, just for the sake of the recording, our brother has mentioned that, it says here, the devil did deceive them. They were not forced. They were not coerced. They were deceived by Satan and chose to follow him.
Thank you.
So Satan being released, loosed from the bottomless pit, just simply to fulfill God's purpose of deceiving these nations so that they make their advance and they're summarily judged?
No, I would take it it's really to expose the human heart, number one. Yes. Sure. To deal finally with Satan. Had you something else in mind? No, no, no, that's good. We should have mentioned this, and one of the great purposes of the millennium is to show God's faithfulness to his covenants.
His covenant with Noah is relative to the land, the earth. His covenant with Abraham is relative to the lineage, as well as the land of Israel. His covenant with David is relative to the legacy of the throne, someone to sit upon the throne.
It's going to fulfill all of that. And could I just tell you, I think it's vital because there's so much, turn to Jeremiah. I just hope we'll have time, and I think this is important, so you'll bear with me.
Jeremiah 31. Now, early in the chapter, God goes into the new covenant. But now, if you'd break into verse number 35 of Jeremiah 31, Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light for day, ordinances of the moon and stars for light by night, which divides the sea, and so on.
Verse 36, If these ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before me forever. So if you can stop day and night, if you can get rid of the stars and the moon, God says, That's when my covenant with Israel will be broken.
Chapter 33, verse number 20.
Thus saith the Lord, You can break my covenant of the day, my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day nor light in their seas, and that also my covenant be broken with David my servant.
So again, God says, day and night are a testimony to the fact that I will be faithful to my covenant with David. So God's covenants are not whimsical promises that were made that are going to be broken because God decides he has a better plan.
He has rooted. He has to take our brother. He has nailed his colors to the mast. I will fulfill my covenants with Israel, my covenant with David, and the millennium is going to show that that has come to pass.
Now, I know that's very hurried. We have to come to this final scene, the very solemn scene, and we should really address it with all the due respect that it deserves from us. The righteous judgment of God, the throne and its occupants, and its occupants, the book and its omissions, the doom and its oblivion.
In a court of law, now, I hope this is helpful and it's helpful to me. In a court of law, it's in two phases. First of all, guilt or innocence is pronounced. You're guilty. Then, many times, the individual is remanded to prison or jail.
They're brought back in a period of time, and now the sentence is passed. The sentence of guilt has been passed because of unbelief, right? John 3, but sentence hasn't yet been passed. Guilt, yes, the verdict, but this is the sentencing now that is going to occur, and they're going to be made to face the evidence as to why they're being sentenced as they are.
Now, that's helpful because some of you parents, you may be wondering, what about a little child who dies? They're not guilty of unbelief, and as horrible as it is to think of, at least there's one good thing that comes out of the abortion.
All of those unborn fetuses, all those lives that have been snuffed out will be part of the redeemed in heaven, covered by the blood of Christ because they're not guilty of unbelief. Unbelief is what causes the verdict of guilt to be passed.
This is where the sentencing is given, and men are made to face the sin that marked them in life. Now, I know this is very sober and solemn, but maybe just some help before we...
So, though unbelief is a sin, yet the men are judged out of those things which are written in the book according to their works. Right. So, that's gone into as well, not just the sin of unbelief, I think we need to make that clear.
Oh, no, you hear what I'm saying, they're judged according to their works here, but the verdict was passed of their guilt.
With a view to a degree of punishment? I would take it, yes. The Lord Jesus taught that, didn't he? Oh, yes. Yeah. Yes. Would you be entirely opposed to the idea that there will be those who stand at the great white throne who will not go into the lake of fire?
I would not go along with that, but I'm willing to listen. You mean the witnesses?
No. I'm thinking of the Lord's words in Matthew chapter 12, when the Jews demanded a sign from him. He said to them, a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign. There'll no sign be given to it save the sign of the prophet Jonah.
For as Jonah was three days, three nights in the belly of the fish, so shall the son of man be three days, three nights in the heart of the earth. And then he goes on to say that the men of Nineveh will rise with this generation, this wicked and adulterous generation.
The men of Nineveh will rise with them and shall condemn them because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. Then he speaks about the queen of Sheba and she will rise with this generation. So that to me ties in with the fact that God has a program for the church.
There's a resurrection associated with the church of the rapture. For Israel, there's a resurrection, the first one that we've just been talking about. Then the rest of the dead are raised. Now, the men of Nineveh, they weren't raised, obviously, as part of the church.
Neither were they raised because they weren't in covenant relationship with God at the beginning of the millennium. They weren't promised millennial blessing. But the Lord said they will rise with this generation.
Well, when will the wicked and adulterous generation be raised? They'll be raised to stand before the great white throne. And the men of Nineveh will stand there as well. And they'll be judged out of the books.
And they will be recorded in the books. There was a day when Jonah, some sort of apparition he was, no doubt, but there was a day when Jonah walked into the city. He said, yet 40 days and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
And they repented in sackcloth and ashes. So the men of Nineveh, in my view, will be standing at the great white throne. They'll be judged out of the books. And the final verse says, whoever's name was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
That would at least infer that there are some whose names are found written. And if they don't belong to the church, and they don't belong to God's covenant dealings with Israel, it makes sense that they're raised at the final resurrection and go into eternal blessing.
Is that too off the wall?
Well, it's a bit off the wall. But I just want to clarify this, that we all both agree. All the unsaved will go into the lake of fire. Yes. Oh, yes. Yeah. So there's no confusion there. No confusion there.
We're just saying whether or not these are raised now, the Gentiles are raised now. Okay.
Aren't there Gentile believers during the tribulation? Yes, absolutely. They're not part of the church. They're not part of Israel. Any Gentile martyrs during the tribulation then? When do they get raised?
Gentile martyrs in the tribulation? They'll be raised at the first resurrection.
And yet they're Gentiles, and they're not part of the church. No, but they're proselytes.
They're proselytes. They're Gentiles who come under the umbrella of Israel's covenant blessings.
But weren't they Ninevites? Weren't the Ninevites also, in a sense, proselytes?
No, no, not at all, I don't think.
Well, they repented, and they believed God, it says. Okay.
Well, go to the thing that we do know. The thing that we do know is that the men of Nineveh will rise with this adulterous and wicked generation.
When will that be? Well, I thought just rise would be to stand with them rather than rise as a witness. Okay, we've aired that. Let's leave that.
Also, just one final thing, though. You've also got to say, you've also got to establish that no one righteous ever dies in the millennium, and that's why I asked if there was a scripture for it, and I don't think there is.
