The Living Water — Bill McLeod

Canada, bringing a message, a Roman verse, or verses in John 7, 37 -39, about rulers of the living. I'd like us to read, first of all, from Isaiah 44. A couple of verses there. Verse 1, we'll read down to verse 4.

The Promise of Living Water and the Spirit

Yet now hear, O Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen. Thus says the Lord, That made thee, and formed thee from womb, which will help you. Fear not, O Jacob, my servant,. And thou, Jeshua, whom I have chosen.

For I will pour water upon him who is thirsty, And floods upon the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit upon your seed, And my blessing upon your offspring. And they shall spring up as among the grass, As willows upon the watercourses.

And here God is promising two things, That if we are thirsty, he'll pour water on us. And he's also promising that he'll pour his Spirit on our children. And people sometimes say to me, yeah, that's true, these boys killed my kids, but they haven't responded.

But you know, so it goes on to say, and they, that's the children, they shall spring up. The watercourses, who keeps them, make up their mind by the grace of God, you're going to get them back. Those kids, those poor boys, they loved each other.

Persevering in Faith for the Next Generation

Their mother was gone. After a long while, one day dad said, your mother's coming back, but you don't have to listen to her religious talk. And she was a great cook, you know, so she came along. She told us many years later, the first thing she did when we got home was, My four boys and my husband, and I believe for this letter came for his 36 when he was converted, And they promised each other they'd never ever become Christians.

So it took a little longer for God to get in, you know, and he went into ministry finally too. And my dad got saved in 75. But she never gave up. No matter what's happening, trust God in you. Otherwise we can have an evil heart of unbelief, and that's what it is.

God calls it, and he just promises. And from there, tabernacles shall not be taken down. And because they are young to us, a piece of them will gather before us, and others shall go, and it shall pass away by.

It's a prophecy of Christ, of course. There are no ships for a child. I will put you right now, I will put my spirit on your scene, And my blessing on your offspring, you shall spring up. And she's heartened.

She's got what only God showed her. She took a pillar, stood beside him, and finally he was aware of the fact that it was there. And who is, you know, she's hunched under a normal water from the well.

And she said, well, you're not going to run off in the water, are you? You're going to get yourself in the water. And he said, probably. He even said, I don't have that much on me. She took him in her arm, and said, oh, I happen to be inside.

But if you're new in that old town, She said, well, it's inside. He said, get in, because the work of God. He said, and I'm the first one to come out here to glorify. From Christ, the promise is yours.

In the meantime, the pastor woke me quite a while before and quite a while later, And she said, 18 people of Christ have sat down here. And he said, she said, I don't know. She said, you know, a monk came and checked it out today.

Moses, the Rock, and the Picture of Christ

She took something, she didn't take something for granted. She took some promises for herself, and I'm sure that's what happened. Then we have a little bit of history, a number of moral changes. Stand on the rock before you.

And I want you to smoke the rock, enough water. God was standing on the cross. And the second time, God said, speak to the rock. He had been smoking it. But then it's come to God. And he spoke to the rock.

He didn't speak. He should have spoken. Unbelievable. He smoked the rock twice. He tried to. He saw the picture that God was trying to give us of Christ's son. And he had to pay a price for that. Interestingly, though, on the night of Transfiguration, under that cloud of ashes, to forgive her.

Forgiveness, Love, and the Sealed Fountain

And I say, if I ask you for all past to be our own, love the only one, death to none. And God did, you know. As a matter of fact, he took a church later on. He had a congregation, a new church, a new congregation.

Many years later, spotless. A spring shut up. A fountain sealed. Sometimes we're like that. But nobody can see it in the garden. I mean, well, I don't know. We don't really know. I led him to Christ later on.

And he married another gal from my church in Saskatoon. Sometimes we're like that, you know. I've been trying to find out how to be saved. He never had a clue. Something happened. Tell me how to be saved.

We're not far from this place. We often got together. Come up, and then we sat down. You know, some of us are like that. We're frozen at the mouth. I don't think so. It's politics, you know. It comes to the cross, you know.

It's dominant, really. What if we talk about Christ? I've been to all the people there. And, um, I sing, like, Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine. I don't think I love him. I never talk about him.

Confession, Backsliding, and Returning to Christ

Two chairs, and then out there, and girls came and prayed to the lady, and men came and prayed to the guy. And they went back to the seat, and another guy jumped up and said, I know I can teach you, too, he said.

And I think the same. He said, I sing this song, like, Jesus, I love thee. I never talk about him. I don't think I love him. He was a fellow that backslid him for 12 years. You know the thing about him?

Suddenly his wife, she got up and stood him. He had backslidden him. Don't have any reproach in the name of God. But she said, God has shown me the right to burn him. Sometimes he criticized and all this kind of thing.

And God has shown him the right to blame. So he knelt down, and he prayed at the top of his lungs for about five minutes, you know. Do you know what's cool? When you're preaching from Africa, listen, what do you think?

Christ, I finally see you. Sometimes you're happy with that. At least, maybe not happy. But you're satisfied. It says, the rebalancing that comes when you're there is all good. It would seem, I wasn't talking to a man that used to jerk me.

To a man who can return from Nicodemus. If you obey God, you're blessed. And if you disobey God, you'll have to preach. You can't live in a sweet morsel. In the church you don't preach. If there's mental, she's got a mental problem.

Hypocrisy, Accountability, and Spiritual Leadership

They've taken her psychiatrist. She's got a mental problem. This is all a bunch of lies in this book. That's what told the congregation. The reason she didn't attend the church was because she knew he was a total hypocrite.

In fact, she needed him. And God got her. The congregation, but I can't be a pastor for him. I'm with him. And they really got the thing straightened out. And the last thing they heard was he was pastoring another large church in the southern states.

But you know the kind of things... And you know what they told me? He told me. He said, There are many of our Christian men somewhere else. See, he's living in the... They asked him who gets saved that time.

Well, he said, I don't understand it. You try. You know how you get to the poker? You try. You're finished right now. Speak to him, of course. You know, once you know God is going to save you, you have to tell him something.

Spiritual Warfare and Authority Over Satanic Powers

He was about three stairs up from the floor. So we know that. This is a quotation from Isaiah 14. So, for instance, Scorpions, which is a Bible, they're symbols of satanic powers. I give unto you power to trade in serpents.

And he told me, he said, You know, I know it. So you know it's power. There's a God. Show me, dear God. What sins are there? Unbelief, fear. Well, it will show you. Then he went and said, I don't want to hear about your wife.

Why don't you go and meet her at two o 'clock in the afternoon? There are many, many men with God. And so, when I got to his home, hey, it was two o 'clock in the afternoon. And there was something in the air.

And I didn't know what it was. He said, He said, His wife and I said, I'm going to ask these kids to forgive him. A Bible book? Good question. How many of you know there were a pioneer man who told a story about a three-inch horse on a rail.

He promised to do some work as a Roman Christian. To do with people without a crucifix. So you want to say it's the flesh and that you can't do anything but yourself to people four or five hundred times over the years because you're afraid to say anything.
