The Human Sin Nature and the Need for a Savior

As we looked at yesterday, Christianity believes that man has a sin nature. We are born in a state where we are depraved. That does not mean that we do things as bad as we could. But it does mean that because we are in a state where we have a sin nature, we violate God's law, we need a Savior.

Christ's Unique Work in Salvation

And what makes Christianity unique is that the Savior is provided by God Himself. You end up seeing that God Himself became a man, Jesus Christ, to die as a payment of sin. It is only within Christianity that we have a Savior who does all of the work.

Salvation by Grace Alone Through Faith Alone in Christ Alone

This is one of the things that makes Christianity unique. It is that God does 100 of the work and humans do not add anything. Any effort, any works that is added to salvation becomes a works based salvation.

Christianity believes that men are saved through God alone, by what God did. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. This is where we differ from other false religions. It is that God does 100 of the work, therefore God gets 100 of the credit.
