A Nation Raised Up Through Revival and Godly Heritage

Oh, Lord God of heaven, I come unto you now in the name of thy dear son Jesus, whose blood was shed on Calvary for the remission of sins. Look, O Lord, upon this nation of ours, of whom you have so favored in former times, a nation you have raised up above other nations to be a beacon of light for thee, where you planted this land with a godly heritage, with our founding fathers, and watered it time and time again with showers of heaven-sent revival and spiritual awakening.

National Apostasy and the Rejection of God

You grew this nation, Lord, and prospered her to be the envy of other nations on the earth, but your word declares where much is given, much is required, and we have let you down, where there once was a fear of God in the land and a reverence for your Sabbath and a respect for your holy word, the Bible.

Now there is only indifference and contempt for thee. We as a nation have turned our backs to you and have forsaken the living God of the Bible and have gone a-whoring after other gods, after gods of greed and sex and violence and perversion.

Moral Decay and the Removal of Prayer from Public Life

Our multiplied sins flood the land like an open sewer of stench and rottenness. We have banned you from our educational system. When I was a little boy, I remember how I stood up in class in public school and prayed by participating in public prayer that was led by the teacher, but now praying to you in public schools is forbidden here.

We legislated you out of our judicial system by legalizing sin and outlawing your word. We have replaced you in our churches with entertainment and laughter, and therefore we are in a famine in the land today, a famine for hearing the word of the Lord.

There are few prophets in the land today who have a holy boldness, who preach against sin and who defend your name. Rather, we have a multitude of pastors who fear men more than God and who refuse to mention sin or warn about the danger of damnation in a devil's hell and being held accountable at a future judgment that awaits all mankind.

Pleading for Mercy Instead of Destruction

We, as a nation, deserve judgment from an offended and holy sovereign, but I pray, great God, that in your wrath, you remember mercy. In your wrath, remember mercy. I pray that instead of sending destruction to us, you send a revival to us.

A Prayer for Spiritual Awakening and a Renewed Church

O Lord, realign this nation back to thee. Send showers of spiritual awakening upon this lost generation of young people today who don't believe in you and who are deceived and addicted to money and sex and alcohol and drugs and who live their lives in perversion and debauchery.

Open your closed heaven, Lord, I pray, and shower us with plentiful effusions of grace in revival. Revive your church, O Lord, which has lost her authority and influence upon society. Come, great King, and reestablish your prominence in our lives and your preeminence in our sanctuaries.

I pray these things in the strong name of Jesus. Amen.
