- I'm convinced that the greatest need of the day is the proclamation of the God of the Bible as He really is, not some image made by man.

- We call that idolatry. God as He really is, and the Gospel as it really is.

- And so I wrote the book, The Five Solas, with that in view. How do we take what the

- Bible says regarding the Gospel and make it so plain we can't miss it? I believe the

- Protestant Reformers got the Gospel right. And in The Five Solas, that starts with the understanding that Scripture alone is the foundation.

- Only Scripture rises to the level of being inspired so that it can bind the conscience.

- And from there, the basic message of the Bible is that God saves us by what He does alone, by God's grace alone, received through faith alone, in Christ alone, all to the glory of God alone.

- There are many good books on the subject out there, and I've handed a number of them to people, but because they've been maybe 200, 300 pages, they're not always read.

- And so I set about writing something that would be intentionally brief, that can be read in just about an hour or so, regarding what that Gospel is.

- Not only the necessity of the Bible, but the sufficiency of it. Not only the necessity of grace, but the sufficiency of grace.

- Not simply the necessity of Christ. We need Christ. But Christ being the all -sufficient

- Savior. So I went about that task, and I believe the Lord has helped me to produce something that can be read easily.

- It's accessible. I can hand it to anyone I know. And pastors are picking up the book and giving it to their visitors.

- And I'm just excited about the concept of getting this book into people's hands, because it's the

- Gospel in written form. It's full of the Bible. This message needs to go out loud and clear.

- And I hope it can be a blessing in your life, as you understand the Gospel more clearly, and then can communicate that Gospel to others.
