Bearing Testimony Versus the Word of God

I'll bear my testimony. The Book of Mormon is a false gospel, and so is Joseph Smith. We can't get anywhere by bearing our testimonies. We have to go to the Word of God. Joseph taught you that you can become a god one day.

God says there's no gods before and none after. You guys go door-to-door preaching a gospel of works and faith, which is condemned by God in the Scriptures. Your prophet gave false prophecies and contradicted the Scriptures.

We care for you guys, that's why we're here. Have you ever seen one of our tracks? It compares the Bible with the Book of Mormon.

You know, when you're talking to them, you must tell them that you love them.

First of all, you love them.

That's what I just did.

Before you talk about a false prophet, because they love Joseph Smith. You just tell them you love them.

Yeah, we love them, and we've got to let them know that Joseph's a false prophet. He gave false prophecies. He led you after other gods. And the reason I'm being so direct with you guys is you guys are on your mission every day going door-to-door, preaching about what Joseph taught, that he was a prophet of God.

Deuteronomy’s Test of a False Prophet

But did you ever test Joseph according to God's test of a prophet?

And how is that?

Deuteronomy 13, 1 -4 says that if someone comes and has signs and wonders, but they lead you after other gods, they're a false prophet. So even if it looks good, but they lead you after other gods. In other words, they contradict what God has already said.

That's how you know they're a false prophet. Joseph gave us a new vision of God as a man who became a god one day. And you guys can become gods too. That's a different god. And so that's why we're here talking to you.

Prayer, Personal Conviction, and Competing Truth Claims

Well, you know, I respect you and what you're doing because you have beliefs. But nothing you can say can change my belief that I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.

I don't believe that I can change your heart. But have you tested Joseph according to God's test?

I pray to know because that's how we find truth.

Well, Muslims have prayed about Islam. Are they wrong?

Who knows?

They believe Jesus is not the son of God.

I just know it myself through prayer that I've found it.
