WWUTT 2690 Q&A Falling Asleep in Church, Praying with Unbelievers, the New Narnia Trailer

Is it okay to fall asleep in church? Prayer is good, of course, but are there certain people we should not pray with? And what's up with the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia movie? The answer's when we understand the text.

This is When We Understand The Text, a daily Bible commentary to help encourage your time in the Word. Tell all your friends about our ministry at www .wutt .com. Here once again is Pastor Gabe. Thank you, Becky.

You're welcome.

And hello, everybody. Hello. Let's start off with Psalm 101. I feel like I was in this, or I may have read this one on the program fairly recently, but it's the one that I was reading today, so you get to hear it again anyway.

It's a good one. I will sing of steadfast love and justice. To you, O Lord, I will make music. I will ponder the way that is blameless. O, when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house.

I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away. It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall be far from me. I will know nothing of evil. I feel like I need to somehow etch on my phone or put it on my wallpaper on my phone or something like that.

I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. Right? I'm already pretty careful with what I look at online, but I can get into that pattern of just watching dumb videos over and over again.

It just becomes an incredible waste of time. Yeah.

My social media, one in particular, really actually has honed into what I enjoy, which is renovating the house and scholarship information and just tidbits here and there. And it's like, I could watch that.

But then I realized that once I walk away, I didn't absorb half of it. And I'm like, was it really that important to study it that long? Right. So, I mean, they're good fun while they last, but only for the moment.

The moment that you're surfing,.

Doing scrolling and doing, yeah. Yeah, I don't understand algorithms sometimes. I do have a couple of my social media accounts have a good algorithm. So, I'll get the content that I wanna see. But there's another one where I've saved a bunch of like woodworking stuff, but I never see woodworking stuff come up in my algorithm.

Yeah, the ironic thing about the one that I really enjoy watching is that all the ones that I subscribe to and follow,.

I don't see their clips at all. Yeah, that's just bizarre.

It's like, here, we're just using this for information to give you more stuff like it.

Psalm 101 and Guarding What We Set Before Our Eyes

Yeah, but basically with this Psalm, our focus is on God. We ponder the way of the Lord, that way which is blameless and not setting before our eyes anything that is worthless. It's a good discipline, good thing to check our hearts on daily, probably the way that you're waking up and starting your day.

What are you first setting your eyes on? What are you first meditating on?

I have a quick question for clarification. It says, I hate the work of those who fall away. What is that? Like he hates those that fall away or he hates like the work that they do, like don't pay attention, like I'm confused.

Because you know, there's a lot of people who, what do you call that? Where you don't go to somewhere. What's that called? It has a name. You know what I mean? Like the name for something. You avoid that place no matter what.

Okay. Like when. Like the plague. No, like Target was one of them where everybody. Oh, boycott. Boycott. Yeah, okay. That's what I was looking for. So is it talking about boycotting their work or is it talking about, he just doesn't appreciate their work?

Scripture is not gentle with those who fall away from God. Right. Like we tend to have this attitude of whenever somebody's saying, I'm doubting my faith, I think I'm falling away from the Lord and I'm leaving my church and all this.

We tend to treat that with kid gloves. Yes, very much. We're like, oh, I'm so sorry.

Like let me comfort you. Try to baby them, yes. And like move you along this way. Right. You know.

But people who fall away from God are wicked. Yes. They're called wicked in scripture. And so David here, this is a Psalm of David, is talking about his loyalty and commitment to God of always knowing God's way.

Those who fall away have gone away from the Lord. I don't ever wanna go in that direction. I don't ever wanna fall away from the living God. I mean, judgment is where that ends up. Okay. You're gonna perish.

You are gonna perish along with the wicked. David does not want to be in league with the wicked. Right, okay. It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart will be far from me. So those who fall away are perverted.

Okay. Their hearts are perverted, they're corrupt. So that's not the way that I want to know. I will know nothing of evil. I am going to ponder the way of integrity.

Okay, I just wanted to clarify that because I'm kind of, I was stuck on that part. Okay.

So thank you. Yes, and it is right for us to hate that way, right? We don't want to go in the direction of those things that would draw us away from God. So hate that stuff. And that's the apostle Paul in Romans chapter 12 also saying, hold fast to that which is good and abhor that which is evil.

Right. So same sort of thing that David's doing here. Abhor is such a strong word. That's a strong word. Yeah, it sounds like it's even stronger than hate. Yeah. Abhor that which is evil. So we would love things that please God and go after that way.

Pondering the way that is blameless before God. Well, folks, this is the Friday edition of When We Understand the Text. It's posted a little bit later on Friday, but we got it in. So sorry. Yeah, things have been real busy.

We did not, excuse me. We did not have a Friday episode last week. So this really is that episode that would have aired Friday last week. And then it just, I've talked about this before. If I get behind, it's so difficult to catch back up.

Snowballs. So just wait until the next week and I'll jump back on and hit the pattern again. Yeah. And God willing, I'll be back on with New Testament study Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Ezekiel on Thursday, and then a Q &A on Friday.

Now, before we get to our questions here, we take questions from the listeners, send them to whenweunderstandthetext at gmail .com or go to wwutt .com and click on that voicemail tab, record a voicemail to us through your phone or your computer.

I don't have any voicemails this week. This is all email. But before getting to this, a few weeks back, I had mentioned that we had been given a matching gift at our church. Yes. A $20 ,000 matching gift.

Yeah. And this was to go toward future building projects and things like that. We don't have a building of our own. We're currently meeting at a middle school auditorium. We're a long way from being able to purchase a building or build one.

Right. But someone has, I mean, you gotta start somewhere. So someone has donated to us a $20 ,000 matching gift. Praise the Lord. If we match that dollar for dollar, that 20 ,000 turns into 40 ,000. We have had listeners that have donated to that.

And we appreciate you so much. And it has been very generous. And we thank you for that. Thank you for doing that. If you go to providencecasagrand .com, and Casagrand spelled grande, so Casagrande. With an E at the end.

If you don't pronounce it the white way, providencecasagrand .com and click on the giving button that's there in the menu. And then you can send a donation. Of course, we're nonprofit, so it's tax deductible.

And designate where you want that donation to go. You can say what, you can say it's gonna go to WWTT. You can put in the donation button that this is for the building project. Yes. There's a place where you can fill in what you want the money to go toward.

If it goes to what, by the way, it's still tax deductible, it comes to the church. And then it's usually for what related things? I don't know. It's just kind of an honor system. I've always set this up as kind of an honor system.

You're just trusting that we're gonna be responsible with whatever you are donating to us.

If you need equipment replaced or. Well, that's happened. It has. Or if there's like a conference or something like that, you know, it kind of helps cushion.

What is not really attending conferences anymore? Not really, no. The conferences that I go to are conferences I need to go to for the church. But yeah, we haven't been doing tables at conferences or things like that.

So the money hasn't been going to that, but we do appreciate you thinking of us. We encourage you to give to your church first, but if there's something that you wanna donate to us, a building project would benefit when we understand the text because our studio would be there.

But you can, again, you can donate by going to providencecasagrande .com, click on the giving tab. And we thank you for praying for us, donating, telling somebody else about the ministry. It's all wonderful.

By the way, speaking of the ministry, the what videos on YouTube are currently trending 100 ,000 more views per month than average. That's a lot. It's doing really, really well. This has the potential of becoming the biggest year that we've ever had doing videos on YouTube.

So we're thankful for you watching and sharing the videos with others. This podcast came about after the videos. So we started with the videos. People were asking more questions. We wanted to do longer discussions.

So we started the podcast. And now we've been doing this podcast for over 11 years. I was just thinking about this today. So when we started the podcast, we were in Kansas five years, four or five years after we started the podcast.

So from 2015 to 2020 was when we left Kansas. So we've now been doing the podcast longer outside of the state of Kansas. Oh man, you're right. Then we were doing it in the state of Kansas.

Yeah, that's crazy.

Coming up on three years in Arizona. By the end of October, we will have been here for three years. And then that will be longer than we were in Texas. Yeah. That's crazy. But wherever we've been, always love the people that we've met.

We think very highly of every church that the Lord has called us to. And we thank you for listening as well. We still have listeners. And joining us through that. That's right. Still have listeners that are from each one of those churches, Kansas, Texas, and now Arizona.

Well, let's go ahead and get to some questions here. We're gonna do a short spurt on the question. So this will be 30 or 40 minutes. And then for the last portion of the program, I'm going to play the video that I did doing a review of the new Chronicles of Narnia trailer, The Magician's Nephew, which is being directed by a liberal feminist named Greta Gerwig.

So what kinds of messages were we able to pick up from the first trailer that came out? Just the trailer. Just this week. So I've got a review of that. That'll be the last portion of this episode. First question comes from Brian.

Responding to a Churchgoer Who Sleeps During the Sermon

Hi, Pastor Gabe. I don't often see my in-laws, but when I do and they attend church with my family, I often notice my father-in-law sleeping during the sermon. He would cite Acts 20 as justification for why it is acceptable to sleep during a sermon.

So that's what I did recently on the podcast. Acts 20, the story of Eutychus falling asleep. Okay, falling asleep during a sermon. He argues that since Eutychus in Acts 20 fell asleep while Paul was preaching and fell out of a window, the scripture recognizes that sermons can be long and boring and it's understandable for someone to doze off while listening.

Yeah, but Paul preached all day.

Yeah, there is a difference.

So I think you can give Eutychus a little leeway there. That doesn't give you an excuse to fall asleep during a 45-minute sermon. Anyway, going on. Although he professes faith, he claims that after hearing sermons for over 40-plus years, he generally knows where the preacher is going with a text, so he opts to sleep instead.

I know you joked with this text that a preacher shouldn't preach so long that somebody falls asleep. However, how would you respond to this form of joke-slash-interpretation that it is acceptable to sleep during a sermon?

And how should I respond to him, especially given that he is my father-in-law? Well, as the Apostle Paul said to Timothy, correct an older man as you would a father. Yes. So how would you speak to your father?

With gentleness. And so therefore, when you correct him, you need to speak with gentleness and respect as well to your father-in-law. So how do you correct him here? Well, listening in worship is a form of worship.

Yes. When you're listening to the sermon, you are worshiping God. You are listening to the word of God. You are listening to a preacher that is helping to shepherd your soul in the direction of living in such a way that applies the words that you have heard so that your entire life may be a life of worship.

Romans 12, one and two, in view of God's mercies, present your bodies as living sacrifices unto the Lord, holy and acceptable to him. And this is your spiritual act of worship. So with your body in church, you need to sit and listen with your ears, committing them to the Lord as an act of worship.

Right.

And I would say a little bit of peer pressure, maybe even like have you and your wife and mother-in-law, I assume is there as well. But I mean, that's just implying, but just have a conversation as you're heading home about what the sermon was like, the highlights.

Talking about the sermon.

Yeah. And see if he's able to continue that discussion about the sermon.

As much as he thinks And be like, hey, what'd you think of it?

As much as he thinks he knows where it's going, can he actually hold a conversation about the sermon? Right.

And maybe put them on a spot a little bit, but give them some grace of not like hardcore, I'm gonna stare you down until you answer this question. But like, just kind of make it more of this is important, this is worth talking about later, this is worth listening to.

And do make it a big deal, because it is a big deal. Right. You know, and so

If you were having a conversation with somebody and they fell asleep in the middle of your conversation, I mean, how would you take that?

I don't know. It depends on the situation, honestly, because

Well, when we're talking in bed at the end of the day, that's different. And I fell asleep, yeah. Yeah, sure. Usually you're the one falling asleep in the conversation, it's not me. Yep, yep. Although I have, I've done it before.

It's just usually in the roles Usually it's me. It's you, that's right.

Yes, yes. So like I said, I can't really, you know, say one way or another. If somebody works nights, if somebody's like not been sleeping, if they have a newborn, I mean, there are circumstances where it's, it cannot be helped.

But if he's knowingly doing it, just allowing himself to doze off, that's different. Yeah.

Now I do tend to be gracious and forgiving of people that may fall asleep during my sermon. I mean, I've spotted it. Yeah. I've been preaching now for 16 years. Well, longer than that, but as a pastor for 16 years.

So yes, I've seen people falling asleep during sermons before. It doesn't matter how lively I am, it will still happen. Right. I love the illustration that Mike Riccardi will give. If you've ever attended classes where Mike Riccardi is teaching preachers on preaching, there will be a point in his talk where he will just stop and it'll just be dead quiet.

That's not awkward. And he'll say, see sometimes putting a pause in your sermon will wake someone up too. Yes. It's not just getting louder will wake them up. It's like somebody is used to the constant motion of voice that when the voice isn't there anymore,.

Suddenly they snap too. Kind of like in a car ride, when you stop, everybody wakes up like, oh, we're here. Yeah, are we here? Right.

It was the motion that had everybody dozing off. So a preacher might put a pause in there and then just the long pause could end up waking everybody up. But anyway, like I said, I'll be gracious with people who may fall asleep because they could have gotten off shift, which has happened before.

I've had guys that'll walk in and say, I've just worked all night. I'm here at church, but I'm really tired. So I'm like, hey, understand, love that you're here.

And then The older you get, you don't sleep as well.

Then there's that too. You might have the elderly that it's just really, and that was my grandmother. Yes. My Meemaw, who was my dad's mom, she just, oh yeah, fell asleep in the middle of anything. You could be talking to her, you could be at a baseball game and she would fall asleep.

That actually happened, in fact. During a Braves game, she just fell asleep in the middle of the Braves game. So it could be something like that. So I tend to be gracious and forgiving, but as much as you can, as much as it depends on you, you need to prepare yourself for worship.

So get to bed at a decent hour the night before. Wake up, have yourself prepped, ready to go, get your cup of coffee, whatever you got to do, but you are ready for worship. And part of worship means you are staying awake for the service.

You're singing when the songs are being sung, you are praying when somebody is leading in prayer, you are listening when somebody is preaching to you the word of God. But this is part of our responsibility in worship.

In school, they taught us, in college rather, they taught us that as a trick for a teacher is to hand out mints. And whenever you are studying or you're listening or you're in class, you have the mint.

And then whenever you get to the test, you put the mint back in and then you can recall things. It's kind of like a, you know, whenever you smell cookies, you think of home kind of thing. It just kind of triggers the memory.

Makes sense. Okay, so it's the same thing. Maybe it might help to like hand him a mint because it will keep you awake a little bit longer to have a sweet and have something in your mouth, you know, kind of keeping you occupied so you don't choke.

That helps me when I drive.

Yeah. I put something in my mouth while I'm driving, yeah.

Right, and also the mint flavor also kind of wakes up your senses. It does. So maybe you can give him a little, you know. Give him a mint. Encouragement. There you go.

Hand him an encouragement. But when you were saying that, I was looking around for a piece of plastic here so that like various times, at various times during the sermon, you will hear Yes. As somebody is opening their mint.

And they always put them in the loudest wrappers ever. Yeah, right. Ever.

Oh, goodness. Anyway, so maybe we've given you some tricks there that you can use and some counsel on how you can talk to him about it. But yeah, I'm in agreement with you that he does need to prepare himself for worship a little bit better.

Yeah.

Not falling asleep during the sermon. If you're on a bench, you can kind of, you know, like move a little bit. Bounce him away.

Hey, everybody jumped to this end of the bench, like on three. Let's see what happens here. We had a bench. It was when I first started at the church that I pastored in Kansas. It was before we got rid of the pews and went to chairs, which was like after two years of being there.

Pretty close to two years. It was really fast. A little over a year. But one of those pews, I remember, like the center leg was longer than the legs on the end. Yeah, I remember that one. So you could like teeter-totter it.

You had to make sure somebody was sitting on either end of it or else it was gonna wiggle. Thunk, thunk. Every time you sit and stand. Somebody would stand up, you'd hear the other end go, thunk. Yeah.

I remember that pew. It ended up in, oh, where did it go? Haiti. It went to Haiti somewhere. Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot about that. So a church down in Haiti ended up with a teeter-totter pew. This next question comes from Brian.

Praying Alongside People of Other Faiths

Dear Pastor Gabe and Becky, thank you for your faithfulness and ministry. Be encouraged to know that the ripples of your influence continue to expand within my family, church, and school. I teach in an area where many of the public schools have a predominantly Catholic student population.

Often at sporting events and even in class, kids will pray together. Catholics, Protestants, agnostics, and an occasional Jehovah's Witness or Mormon. My question is, are there any circumstances where a Christian can pray with people of other faiths?

I think that it is unbiblical ecumenism and at the very least gives tacit approval of other religions or am I being too rigid? Blessings for you and your family and your church. Well, I have led public prayer many times.

And I know that I've got people praying around me that are not of the same faith persuasion that I am. There's going to be Mormons, there's going to be Catholics, there's going to be Jehovah's Witness.

Well, unlikely Jehovah's Witnesses. They tend to be a lot more separatist. So in a public school situation, I can understand why there would be Jehovah's Witnesses there, but seldom am I ever at any kind of public event where there are also Jehovah's Witnesses there.

They tend to be quite distinct from everybody else. But with those public prayer services, when I pray, I'll tend to put the gospel in there. Somewhere in my prayer, I'm going to get elements of the gospel in my prayer.

Now, when it comes to partnering in prayer, I will only agree to that if it is a Protestant prayer service. So I know that as a public gathering, there's going to be people there of other faiths and persuasions, but the pastors who are together and praying were only Protestant.

If there is a Mormon that is among those pastors that are going to be leading prayer, I will decline. I won't be a part of it. I won't even attend, let alone be up with the pastors and praying, because it has delved into a level of ecumenism that I can't partner with.

So I don't attend, I just consider it pagan. It's a pagan gathering. If you've got a Mormon leader who is praying to their false Christ, then this is not in the name of the true Christ, so I'm not there.

I'm not there and participating in that. But if you've got a prayer gathering that is a number of different Protestant preachers, even if there are going to be some Protestant pastors in there that I think are very wrong in their understanding of what scripture says about certain things, I still know that our statements of faith are alike enough that we can pray together and we are praying to the same God.

So I've done that with other Protestant preachers. But if it is, again, if it is an event that includes just straight up heretics, I will not participate because I don't want it to appear as if I'm giving tacit approval to it.

I don't think that your involvement in something like that is giving approval to it. It's just, what does that communicate? Does it communicate to somebody else that you're saying, yeah, I'm good with Roman Catholics.

I'm good with Mormons. I'm good with Jehovah's Witnesses. Is that what somebody else would perceive your presence as being, approving of that? So again, I don't think your attendance there automatically gives approval to it.

And I wouldn't assume that automatically of a pastor. And I've had situations like this before where I've had to correct a brother and I've had to say, brother, your involvement with those guys is a problem.

But when I do that though, it's not to say, I think you're approving of Mormons because I don't know where his heart is on that matter. Rather the way that I approach that is, you are communicating to people that this is okay.

Like that we are of the same cloth as a Mormon and that's just simply not true. Yeah. I mean, it bothers me the way many Protestants will just join right along with Roman Catholics. Now, if we are marching with Roman Catholics in a pro-life event or something like that, that's totally different.

But if we're attending some sort of faith gathering and we're thinking that we are alike on doctrines, Roman Catholicism is heresy. It's legalistic Pharisaicalism. It is everything that Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for on steroids.

We can't have partnership with that. We cannot be in the light and therefore fellowship with darkness. So there are very important doctrines that we must adhere to and know that we cannot fellowship with those that are in disagreement with those doctrines.

When it comes to an opportunity to pray in public, regardless of who's there, I'm gonna try to put elements of the gospel in my prayer. So in case anybody is listening, they have heard the gospel when I pray.

But I think that the situation is going to differ from one case to the next. So kind of a case-by-case basis.

Well, I was gonna ask what do you suggest about the public school setting? Because in a public school setting, there's so much against Christianity to begin with. Do you recommend he go ahead and take the opportunity that's given?

So here he says, often at sporting events and even in class, kids will pray together. Catholics, Protestants, agnostics, and an occasional Jehovah's Witness or Mormon. My question is, are there any circumstances where a Christian can pray with people of other faiths?

I don't know what this means as praying with them. So you're a teacher. If the students are praying, then as a teacher, I would just kind of stand and observe. But I wouldn't necessarily be one who is praying along with them.

Now, I will say that as a teacher, I've been a teacher. And in a situation like that, I'm always leading. So I don't ever pick students and say, hey, you pray, especially if I don't know whether they're a Christian or not, I'm not gonna ask for volunteers.

There was a Christian school that I taught at where we would draw straws basically. It was like draw a stick at the beginning of class and then whoever's name is on the stick, then that's who's praying.

But I didn't continue that practice. If there were other teachers that did it fine, but I didn't do it. Because I was sure there were students in that class that weren't Christians. So I'm not just gonna give a prayer responsibility to a student that was not a Christian.

I'm just leading it. So, hey, we're gonna pray. Let's take a moment to pray. And then we're praying. And even knowing that there are students there who are not Christians, I'm the one leading the prayer.

So it is a prayer to God. And I'm hoping the words that I'm saying also is penetrating their hearts and bringing them to the Lord. Yeah. Yeah. So hope that's helpful to you, Brian. I think it is good to be rigid in some of those situations.

Other times, maybe a little bit more tolerant. Yeah. But we definitely do have certain fellowships that we can align ourselves with. I think you're right in being cautious about that. Yeah, definitely.

In the public school setting, I think it's just tricky because we have been persecuted in a way, I guess, that we're. No, like some places don't even allow you to pray. And so I don't, I wish I knew a little bit more about the situation to give more advice, but yeah.

Well, yeah, I grew up in a public school where every single one of my teachers attended church. Every one. The librarian, I remember, went to the Catholic church. And I think she was even the only one.

Everybody else was Protestant. So it really was a very Christian teaching core. With the students, it was much different. It was probably half and half. I think half the students attended church, half of them did not, were from families that were not regular churchgoers.

Yeah, I couldn't tell you. It didn't matter to me.

Yeah. So I didn't pay any attention. I know, that didn't become a thing for you until much later in life.

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I knew who went to the Catholic church. Yeah. On at least Eastern Christmas. Because you were a cradle Catholic? That was a cradle Catholic? Cradle, yeah. Catholic from the cradle.

Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. And then, so we knew who went there on Christmas and Easter and for Lent, but that was it.

Bible Study Resources for Daily Reading

Last question. This is a real quick one from Cindy. Hi, Becky and Pastor Gabe. I'm looking to study and meditate more from my daily Bible reading. Are there any Bible study books you could recommend to go along with this, rather than just reading the text?

I am so thankful for all that you do. Aw. Well, Cindy, I rarely ever study from another book outside of the Bible. Like right now, my son and I are reading the Bible together every morning and we're just going a chapter at a time.

Yeah. Now, we both have the same study Bible, so we'll read the study notes with each other as well. But otherwise, it's just reading from the text, asking questions of each other and talking about it, not really following a Bible study guide.

But there are some books out there. I can't give you a first person recommendation as in I've used this book, so therefore it would be good for you as well. But if you go to heritagebooks .org, this is the Reformation Heritage Books store, and I enjoy a lot of things they have.

We will buy things from this store just to have at our church to hand out to folks. But they've got some individual books, individual study books. So say, if you're going through the Book of John, then you can order their In the Word Book of John, which will give you notes on John and then also journaling space where you can write notes and things like that as well.

Oh, that's cool. And for somebody who is a woman, there is a series that they publish specifically for women that is a study through certain books of the Bible. They're written by Sarah Eville or Iville.

I'm not sure how you pronounce her last name. But like if you're studying Proverbs, for example, she's got a book that will guide you through the Book of Proverbs. So you're reading it from your own translation and then getting the Bible study notes from her.

So I don't know if that would be helpful to you, something else that you can check out. But again, the website is heritagebooks .org.

And then what study Bible do you use?

I use the English Standard Version Study Bible. I think it is the best study Bible. But I will tell you, I really enjoy the Reformation Heritage Study Bible as well. So that's also found at heritagebooks .org.

It's in the King James. They only publish it in the King James because the King James is not copyrighted. Oh, okay. So they don't have to pay for anybody else's translation. They can just print the King James and then have their own study notes.

It's Joel Beakey who was the editor of the Reformation Heritage Study Bible. But the notes are like what you would read in the English Standard Version, but there's also questions with every chapter. Oh, okay.

So every chapter ends with like a Q &A. You can ask the questions of yourself. If you're doing a family study, it's good for follow-up. Like after the family has read a chapter, you can read the questions at the end and have everybody continue to discuss.

So I like that aspect of the Reformation Heritage Study Bible. That might be something else that you would be interested in also. But I have that Bible just for the study notes. It's not for the King James because I don't study out of the King James, but it is a great study Bible.

I recommend that one as well. So my top three are the Legacy Standard John MacArthur Study Bible, the English Standard Version Study Bible, which I still think is the best study Bible. They really do have the best notes.

And then the Reformation Heritage Study Bible is another one to check out as well. Very cool. All right, well, everybody, that's it for the Q &A. And if you have any questions that you want to send to us, send them to whenweunderstandthetext at gmail .com or a voicemail by going to www .utt .com and click on that voicemail tab.

You can record a question from your phone or your computer. Still got about 20 minutes of the program to go, but what you're gonna hear next is my review of the Chronicles of Narnia trailer for the film, The Magician's Nephew, that is coming out in February to theaters and then to streaming in April.
