The wonder at the Beautiful Gate gives occasion for the Word to go forth to many people. Peter calls Israel to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus. In the same way, God can give us opportunity to share the Gospel. But when that time comes, we must sound a clear Gospel call.

God must do this miracle of granting repentance that leads to the knowledge of the truth so they come to believe and know the truth.

So it's important to remember this. Repentance is a gift from God. But our part is to teach the truth.

And that is exactly what happens in Acts chapter three. Go back to Acts three, we're almost done. There is a problem in Israel.

Not one of us can lead our friend or our family member to Christ. We don't have the ability to change their heart but we can preach

Christ. And notice the simplicity of the gospel. Second Corinthians 11, three and four says that we need to return to the simplicity of the gospel so we won't be led astray.

The simplicity of the gospel. One, the person of Christ. Two, the work of Christ. Three, that this is according to the scriptures.

What the prophets foretold were told. Four, repentance and faith.

Five, the promise of forgiveness of sin and eternal life. This is what we need to be able to teach.

We need to be able to preach Christ, call people to repentance, promise eternal life, forgiveness of sin in his name.
