The Incarnation, the Trinity, and the Virgin Birth

Let us make room in our hearts for the one who hallowed the Virgin's womb, the manifestation of God's glorious mercy. What child is this to be born who existed from all eternity in perfect unity and diversity?

Within the community of the Trinity, this season may we find an infinitely great affinity for the one who has explained the God shrouded in invisibility, meanwhile indivisibly maintaining the unconfused union of humanity and divinity.

Christ's Kingship Over Human Rebellion

It's this distinction that communicates the kingship of God's Messiah most critically. You see, if man is a creature, then he must obey the incarnate deity. Oh, but that's language of sedition. You see, in the state and in his own proclaimed sovereignty, man believes that he is his own authority.

He pridefully says to himself, My word is law. Who lives and who dies, I decide. And using the consensus of democracy, he manipulates the masses with the injustice of infanticide. As a rebellious act of ultimate rejection, he concocts an evolutionary plan of natural selection in which he devises new ways to do evil towards the less desirable, including methods such as, but not limited to, dissection.

He has to begin by stripping the institutions of marriage and family from all governing protections. These are a threat to his out-of-control reign and villainy. In his idolatrous infamy, he worships himself and perpetuates a nation full of continuous tyranny.

The Gospel, Propitiation, and the Incarnation

This affront of nationwide child killing is not only against God and the essence of his being, but against his plan of salvation. The familial nature of triune relationship is seen in the union of man and wife, held in sacred veneration.

So in killing, the fruit of the two coming together as one, man forsakes God's will to regenerate the nations. He believes himself to be beyond good and evil. Being the standard of morality in his own eyes, he deceives himself into believing the serpent's lies.

And so men and women sin together, propitiating their own self-will instead of accepting the only sin offering of propitiation. But true initiation from darkness to light can only take place if the light of the world entered darkness through the wonder of his incarnation.

How marvelous that the Creator, not a part of his creation, who prior to being born set aside the blinding white robes of his heavenly attire to ransom sons and daughters who trusted him back from the fire, would subject himself to this weakened flesh and have someone change his diapers?

But this is the Lord who condescended, whose seed was promised would crush the head of the viper. So let us proclaim joy to the cosmos. Let the expectant earth receive her king. Let freedom ring. For the sin humanity conceived that gave birth to death has once for all lost its sting.

The Humiliation of Christ and the Hope of New Birth

Now creation sings to be delivered from the anguish of its labor. Taste and see the savoring aroma of the all-powerful Savior, whose coming reign has made us obedient children from the heart to not only change our behavior.

The royal tailor donned the humbling confinement of swaddling clothes and in one fell swoop clothed death in its death throes, giving hope to those dead in their trespasses and sins. His mother Mary laid him in a manger with no room at the inn.

Amidst the filth of an animal trough, he overcomes man's resistance. He restfully arrested the transcendent distance, the one between us and our sins that we couldn't hope to cross, that his blood would cross out by his cross to redeem the treasure that is his people like X marks the spot.

Born so that we could be reborn, died and came back to life so that we would proclaim his praises to a people yet unborn. Scorned the shame of his sacrifice, the thrice-holy God has become our portion.

The Incarnation Against Abortion and the Sanctity of Life

Never forget that his entrance into history militates against the evil of abortion. So let us, like messengers of God who told Joseph to flee the wrath of Herod's murderous madness, once again warn a culture of death to flee misery and sadness.

Joy and gladness have come, but only through the sacrifice of the Son are the works of the evil one undone and seen clearly through their blackness. Against the backdrop of vengeful malice, Christmas took place and the crown rites of Jesus the Christ were definitively reclaimed.

It wasn't the choice of the Virgin, but the will of God for life that overcame. With one voice let the church exclaim that he ordains every unformed embryo in utero. As the author of life, he masterfully sculpts the future in the depths of the earth with the womb as his creative art studio.

Lest you say his law has changed, let me give it to you deutero, you shall not murder. Turn from your sin and trust in Jesus because resistance is futile. As his ambassadors, we will preserve life because we know that he has won and death has already had its funeral.
