- 00:00
- So, Elon, um, a few hours ago, you made an offer to buy
- 00:05
- Twitter. Why? I don't know.
- 00:16
- If Elon Musk were to take control of Twitter, we would all be able to find out exactly what it is that Twitter has been up to in recent years.
- 00:23
- And of all the social media companies, Facebook, of YouTube, and all of the really very dishonest things that they do and say that they don't do, but actually do, the shadow banning and much more the silencing of conservative voices, pretending it's not a speech issue, all of that would come out.
- 00:38
- And nobody is worse about that than Twitter. And all of Twitter's dark arts would become clear.
- 00:44
- And I think that's what the board are protecting. There is no other reason, other than their personal status, why they would be fighting so hard to stop
- 00:51
- Elon Musk taking over the company. Elon Musk is on a mission to buy Twitter because he recognizes that it is extremely dangerous for big tech to censor viewpoints it does not like.
- 01:05
- No, I think the, like I said, we're, in my view, Twitter should match the laws of the country and really, you know, there's an obligation to do that.
- 01:19
- But going beyond that and having it be unclear who's making what changes to where, having tweets sort of mysteriously be promoted and demoted with no insight into what's going on, having a black box algorithm promote some things and other, not, not other things.
- 01:36
- I think this can be quite dangerous. Musk tweeted, free speech is essential to a functioning democracy.
- 01:44
- Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle? Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of respondents answered no.
- 01:54
- Musk followed up this tweet with, given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to the free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy.
- 02:07
- Twitter has become kind of the de facto town square. Um, so, uh, it's just really important that people have the, both the, uh, the reality and the perception, uh, that they're able to speak freely within the bounds of the law.
- 02:21
- Musk is right. First, Twitter essentially does have a kind of monopoly over public discourse, which makes it, as Musk said, the de facto town square.
- 02:32
- Twitter is effectively the public square these days. People say, well, if you don't like Twitter, you can go to another platform.
- 02:38
- Not really that true. It has an incredible monopoly. Uh, and so, and it is the place where politics is fought out.
- 02:46
- Culture wars are fought out much more so than any other platform. So he realizes that if the public square is effectively dominated by censors who pretend they're not censors and are highly political activists who can just chuck parents off Twitter, if they happen to say something that's true, um, then that, that, that platform has become rancid.
- 03:07
- That platform has become corrupt. And therefore the public square is corrupt. Elon Musk knows that.
- 03:13
- And second, Twitter has a history of unfairly and disproportionately censoring tweets from conservatives.
- 03:21
- Let's take a look at some examples. Votibacham, a conservative Christian, is barely active on Twitter.
- 03:29
- Yet Twitter has been placing a sensitive content warning on all media related to Bacham for absolutely no legitimate reason.
- 03:37
- But real quick, you wanted to say something about fault lines. Yeah. Um, so I wanted to say something about these cards and, and, and why we're doing this, we've never done this before.
- 03:46
- But when, uh, a friend of mine, uh, posted, uh, on his
- 03:51
- Twitter about this book upcoming, um, Twitter put a warning on it. And then another friend, you know, did that and Twitter put a warning on it.
- 03:57
- I put something up about Twitter, put a warning on it. And we were telling people about pre -ordering the book.
- 04:03
- Um, and so, you know, this is considered, I guess, I don't know if it's the book as much as it is me, because a lot of people, you know, when they put posts of up, uh, they come with a warning or whatever.
- 04:16
- So we're trying to get around that obstacle as it relates to the promotion of this book.
- 04:22
- Hey, this is Michael. Yeah. The real Michael. If you like these videos, would you consider subscribing?
- 04:27
- It helps YouTube spread this message to more people. I'm giving away a beautiful handcrafted leather Bible every week, and I'm trying to pass
- 04:33
- Kenneth Copeland in subscribers to show that truth wins over false teaching. Thank you so much for your eyeballs and support.
- 04:47
- Sarah Jung, who was hired as an editorial writer for the New York Times, published numerous tweets that were blatantly racist.
- 04:56
- Dumb effing white people marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs pissing on fire hydrants.
- 05:02
- Oh man, it's kind of sick. How much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.
- 05:09
- Are white people genetically predisposed to burn faster in the sun, thus logically being only fit to live underground like groveling goblins.
- 05:17
- Twitter took absolutely no action against Jung's tweets, but when Candace Owens, a conservative who now works with the
- 05:25
- Daily Wire, conducted an experiment where she first qualified her tweets as being parodies and then published the exact same tweets as Jung, but replaced white with Jewish, Owens immediately received a notice from Twitter saying, your account has been locked for violating the
- 05:44
- Twitter rules, specifically for violating our rules against hateful conduct.
- 05:50
- After conservatives pointed out Twitter's blatant hypocrisy, Twitter restored
- 05:55
- Owens's account, but made her first delete the tweets. Owens responded,
- 06:01
- I actually agree with Twitter. These tweets are an example of hateful conduct.
- 06:07
- It begs the question, why was it okay when the hate was directed at white people?
- 06:14
- Why are her tweets still up? In every way imaginable, Twitter has just proved my point.
- 06:21
- Racism in this country has been sanctioned against white people. Matt Walsh, another conservative at the
- 06:28
- Daily Wire, was suspended by Twitter for saying, the greatest female Jeopardy champion of all time is a man.
- 06:35
- The top female college swimmer is a man. The first female four -star admiral in the public health service is a man.
- 06:45
- Men have dominated female high school track and the female MMA circuit.
- 06:51
- The patriarchy wins in the end. Walsh's tweet was a reasonable critique of the left's ideology.
- 06:58
- Yet, instead of allowing discussion on this topic, Twitter opted to censor his viewpoint.
- 07:05
- What rules did these two posts violate? Well, the company said that I had run afoul of their policy prohibiting hateful conduct.
- 07:12
- What is hateful conduct? That's, this is the only explanation they offer for that. They say, you may not promote violence against, threaten or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.
- 07:29
- It should be noted that you can still promote violence against them if you just disagree with their opinions, because people do that to me every single day.
- 07:35
- I mean, every day someone is telling me they're going to kill me or wishing death on my entire family. But that's okay, because they just hate me for everything
- 07:41
- I stand for and believe. And that's totally fine. Hate somebody for their race or gender, on the other hand, well, that is unacceptable.
- 07:47
- But did I promote violence? I mean, did I make any threats against anybody? I said the patriarchy wins, but that was simply an observation, not a threat.
- 07:55
- Similarly, the Babylon Bee was banned from Twitter for tweeting, the Babylon Bee's man of the year is
- 08:02
- Rachel Levine. Again, despite the entirely legitimate argument that biology determines whether a person is male or female,
- 08:12
- Twitter opted to simply completely censor this side of the debate. The greatest weapon that Christians have is the objective, universal, undeniable truth of God's revelation in the
- 08:25
- Bible. We've been fed these approaches to apologetics that basically have us saying, you know, we pull out our
- 08:31
- Bible. Somebody says, I don't believe in the Bible. So we go, okay, I'll put away the Bible. Well, here's what you've just said.
- 08:38
- Here is the authority. And they say, I don't believe in that authority. I believe that there are authorities that are higher than that one or more important to that one, or at least equal to that one.
- 08:49
- And the minute you close your Bible, you say you win. And it is clear that because non -Christian worldviews have no rational answer to what is objectively and obviously true, organizations like Twitter are seeking to shut down our ability to even make our arguments.
- 09:07
- This is why Musk's mission to buy Twitter, to make it more transparent, is significant.
- 09:14
- One of the things that I believe Twitter should do is open source the algorithm and make any changes to people's tweets.
- 09:22
- You know, if they're emphasized or de -emphasized, that action should be made apparent so anyone can see that that action has been taken.
- 09:30
- So there's no sort of behind the scenes manipulation, either algorithmically or manually.
- 09:37
- And this is why so many people, both Christians and conservatives in general, strongly support
- 09:45
- Musk in what he's doing, even though he is certainly not a Christian and certainly holds many positions that are contrary to scripture.
- 09:54
- If Musk succeeds, Christians can have greater confidence that they will be able to freely communicate the undeniable truth of God's word.
