Christian Growth Is Progressive, Not Static

We're singing this hymn. There are a couple of suggestions, even in the hymn, that touch on this thought that we've had during these meetings so far. I think it was almost the first night, or first day, that we discussed these things of God.

Salvation From Glory to Glory

We were speaking of this whole matter of Christian life and development. Even the programs of the Lord are all progressive. There's nothing static. There's never the standstill. There's nothing that has a completion.

It's always a simple completion, partial for a greater completion, on and off. There's nothing static. Now, here it says, change from glory unto glory. I suggested it the other day. Most people think the only change that comes to us in our life span is the great, tremendous change, when we are changed from the old life of sin and bondage to spiritual life.

Well, that is a magnificent change. But that doesn't cover the whole ground. That is purely initial. And it's perfectly right for us to say, I am saved. You see, we can also say, I am being saved, because this salvation scheme, this program upon which we've entered, is a progressive thing that we have to come under continually, coming under new portions of the salvation scheme, which is over us like this.

We are changed. Now, he has it right. We're not just changed from sinner to saint. We are changed from glory to glory to glory to glory, because we are continually growing. What we are growing out of in the spiritual life isn't a bad thing.

We're growing out of a portion of it which we have received, and in one sense of the word, we have exhausted, that which it had to offer us. And we have to have something fresh, exactly the same as the truth.

We can't live under the impact of truth we had five years ago. We haven't. It's incorporated in our system, but there's something in us which is continually alive, pushing out, that demands push, light, illumination, understanding, concern, but we don't get down there.

And if you become static, immersed in any experience or any limited even vision of truth, no matter how profound it may be, we are frustrating the thing that God is at, the thing that we have. This is what we have.

We will pass right on. There's something more. There's something more. We're changed from one glorious building of God to another one. It's not changed from sin to a saint, but we're changed continually from one aspect of the truth as it has had power over us, and as we grow, we demand more.

Therein, God, I really demand more of Him in the way of truth and illumination. There's something in me that calls for it. And I enjoy what I had five and ten years ago, but there's something in there.

But what is it? It's a new creation. It's a brand new creation that seeks to become adjusted to this spiritual life and this spiritual realm into which we have been birthed. I said the other night, when we are born of the Spirit, we don't get born into heaven.

We haven't entered that. People enter paradise. But we are born into the kingdom. So when he says that kingdom, we're really in realm. We are birthed into the realm of God. That's the vast spiritual realm.

And we become conscious of that. And all of it has power. And the new birth, if it is a real, genuine new birth, is the thing that introduces us into that. It doesn't take us into a place called heaven.

We'll go to heaven, and I wish people would stop fussing around about it. I'm going to heaven, if you like it or not. I don't worry anything about it. I never pray the last thing I know of taking me to heaven.

I say, well, there they'll go. A child of God that's walking with them, sheltered and consecrated and wielded as your heart desire, and desiring to do His will, in the last minute, be sure to get me in.

No, I don't do that. It isn't a boldness, exactly. It's what I believe is the pleasing and honoring to Him. Had we died to make that possible, then would I in the tail end of it be sure in? No. That's my destiny.

It's not my objective. It's my destiny. That's my destiny. And so I don't get concerned about that. Born into the realm of the Spirit, that didn't mean I was born to him, but people don't take that. They just say we must be born again to get to heaven.

We must be born, which is very true. Everybody ever enters into that glorious realm of every born of the Spirit, don't worry, but that is not what he was teaching, that at all. He had very little to say about what we call heaven and hell.

Very little. He was continually talking about a realm of spiritual reality. And then he would tell it to the Jews in a physical demonstration called a millennium. But he had very little to say about what we call heaven and hell.

Very little. I think there are about two to three references. But you have about twenty-five and they don't refer to it at all. And that's what makes Truckson get the significance of what he's teaching and its relation.

It would certainly upset a lot of your singing books. Certainly will. Because a lot of those things are based on sentiment. And sentiment necessarily isn't the truth. It's a beautiful sentimental way of looking at a thing.

And that doesn't make it real. So when we're changed now, we come out of and into and out of and into continually. Never allow yourself to feel smug and satisfied and delight in divine restlessness. I like it.

Divine Restlessness and the Need to Grow

I remember years ago, who I mean, Gordon, the quiet talks man. How many of you remember? Quiet talks on par, quiet talks on quiet talks, quiet talks. Well, he used to take our Sunday school class. Didn't have any time.

He was the teacher of our Sunday school class. He was a charming man. I mean, charming in a good sense. And he was always dressed in his little gray suit. And his whole personal conduct and all that he had was just like he liked.

There's nothing boring about him at all. How he detested it. Nothing at all. He was the most quiet. You know why he was quiet in the days that he was so popular? The soft-pedal evangelist. That was his name.

The soft-pedal. The soft-pedal evangelist. And I don't know why he had a fine dressing of God upon his nursing workers as there are many others who are not really pronounced soft-pedal. But he was soft-pedal.

He would come in graciously, quiet, and speak. And the God was right there, right in him. A little gray suit, very modest. And I remember one, this one started me off. I remember one Sunday he came to the class and he said, boy, I just don't feel like talking about the lesson this morning that's given to us.

We can have liberty, but we can talk about what the Lord has said to us. And then we always knew we were going to have something good. And then he opened it. And in that one special morning he says, God is, the Lord Jesus, he's talking about Jesus, is a divine disturber.

He said, you get settled into something that you think is now. Now this is the, this is the thing, this is just the right thing. And so if you begin living in that and allowing yourself to be governed by it, moving in a sense of divine restlessness.

I have restlessness. He spoke of it in a manner, I will give you rest. Now, how I will give, that's an immediate profession. But before it finishes, that's soft-pedal. You shall find rest. That means from birth to rest.

That is where it is progressive discovery. Why? Because you will have to find it. You get in there, you'll get enough to drink, you'll feel another restlessness. I've outgrown you. Where is more? Where is more?

And there is a divine restlessness in it. But he says, you shall discover rest. You discover it over here in the new arrangement which I have for you. So every little while, God sees what he's doing with us, rest will become static and contented and fixed.

I've said it before, I hope you don't get too worried. Don't get so tired during the talk, I think you'll be so tired during the talk you'll start to... You've heard me say many of these things, but let me say it again.

The two words that I like so much in my Christian experience, two words which I enjoy so much, they characterize it, they characterize my Christian experience and God always says, it's a blessing of the Lord.

Well, I do enjoy the blessing of the Lord. Although we've seen so many things that characterize the experience under which we have been ushered and loved by the Holy Spirit, there are two words which I like, I really do, grow and learn.

And I like them because there is progression in them, progression in both of them. If you see, when the seed is planted or we are introduced and brought into the first consciousness of this realm, born of the Spirit and we are based into that realm, this realm, don't call it kingdom, we are born into the realm of God.

So now there has to be discovery, adventure, growth. The other word is to learn. And to continually learn and learn and learn. There's no end to it, there's an end to it. And those are just two words that I rejoice in more than anything else.

I like the blessing idea, I get blessed so-so-so, but it doesn't disturb me, really. You hear that? It doesn't disturb me too much. You know what I mean? The blessing, that immediate emotional boom and all of those things, I'll take it as it's passing and it really doesn't disturb me too much.

I go right on back to the way I'm walking, to the Lord, to my normal, back to my normal. Those are a little extra, those are little bits of expulsion. How many of you come back again? Just mind it, good news to some of you.

That is not the level upon which you really demonstrate sufficient love. You have to come back and walk, and think now. It's the walking that, that is what matters, not the flight. Not the flight. The flight, good.

It gives you a little, a little distance, a little distance, but when it comes to the actual living, that's on the walk level. One old man in the meeting, you know, well, he said about some of us not so thoroughly there, and here is another person who is spirituality by emotional reaction, which is the fellow who, anybody's spiritual life by emotional reaction, they're saying, just a, just a, and there are many, there are many who, I say, have a mental image that almost all of their religious expressions consist of externality.

Their religion is in externality, whether in emotional blessings and all of that, which is a matter that is very, very, very, very, very deep. Well, the man who got a wonderful dress, and this man was very, very impressed by it, and the other man was a little wise about what he was doing, so he didn't feel too much about it.

He didn't feel, and the other man went up and he said, marvelous! That picture is marvelous, he said. I want to see how high he can jump. Well, the man said, that's interesting, but I want to know if he walks straight after he lands.

He said, that is very good. He wasn't interested in the height of the jump. He said, I know that's very wonderful, but he said, can he walk straight after he lands? Well, marvelous! With wings as an eagle, take the flight, and run under the power of it, and you'll come to a walking place, so that you pray.

And when you walk, don't expect to fly. And don't try to fly. Don't do. Isn't it awful when some try to fly when they should walk? The rest of them suffer a little bit of distress, but what? They better take off if they can't.

You know, they're not supposed to. But not knowing the movings of the spirit and knowing the movings of God, they have to learn. Then he said, change from glory, and there was another brave man there who was singing flashed over my mind.

It was a complete blast. Anyway, it's this whole idea of growth. So, I'm under the process of salvation now. And we're moving. This morning, we're coming into possession of much that has been given to us as our inheritance in the fact of my salvation.

I am so that I have to come continually under the power of its administration. Under the power of its administration. Possessing my inheritance. The children of Israel were in the promised land and it was theirs and it was their gift and they could get up and say it is mine and they would be very correct in doing this.

It's mine because God gave it to us. Jehovah gave us this. But they never seemed to want to finish the rest of it. Jehovah didn't only say, this is the land I have given you, but he said, if you really want it, you've got to possess it.

Now go on and possess it. Well, what do you do in possessing it? You have warfare and conflict and overcoming and a hundred things expected of you which we have to offer. That's our part to get our possession of the thing which we already own.

But it's not mine till I possess it as I said last evening. The truth is there but the truth is never yours, never mine till it is personalized. And when that truth that we are very familiar with, it is not ours.

You've read that poem, the plowman. His plowshare was eternal truth but within me the soil of my selfhood and burr to the open openings of the spirit. The form of righteousness and the air of the spirit is exposed through open air and sun my selfhood of the pleasant.

Yes, there is. But after you go through a few plowings, they do something for you. I have been going through a lot of it and I was having a meeting in a place and I contacted the spirit. A fine preacher came to me.

He was a fine preacher. He could preach like a house of fire. Oh, why could he ever preach? And he had the theory of the things that he was talking about very well. Wanted to fellowship with him and when we were driving or this thing and thing and I would bring up anything that had real spiritual value or what I would call real worth.

There never seemed to be any response to him. He seemed to be pleasant but there was never anything from his part to offer to me in exchange. I like to break bread. I like to have a piece of bread that has done me good that has been adequate for me.

I break a lot of bread to you because it's bread that I have found adequate in my experience. I don't give you bread that I don't know anything about. I give you bread because it's a part of my life. It's a part of my living.

It's a part of me and I went to break bread with him and he had nothing to give me. He had food and he had nothing and I was a little distressed. He said, just a quick sentence. He has never been proud.

Come you get it. That's all he said and I knew right away not to expect more, not to judge him, not to be critical. Just bear it. So I smiled and he talked about the things he put and I thought oh dear, if he had only been proud how is it we could have broken bread?

That's all the spirit said to a veteran. He had never been proud and yet he would listen to what I had. I think I gave you the illustration once before along that very line. When the spies went over into the promised land they dropped back the grapes of Escalante, luscious things and those people who had not yet gone into Canaan were the ones who were eating it.

That's a funny thing, isn't it? And they were right in saying I am indeed the fruit of the land. That would be right. But you see we're too exhausted when it has to come from the hand of the one who has ventured into the field of the spies and he did it but after he did that that's all he has and he gets thrilled and he says hallelujah I have entered the promised land.

Glory to God I've entered the promised land. The fruits of the land are delicious. I'm eating them and they're right from the land and they just eat those grapes. Well, listen you're eating somebody else's grapes you've never gone into the land you didn't pick the grapes.

Well, I'm real it's real very real the humbling fruit is not the grapes that you have gathered you're being blessed and you feel I'm in I'm in the land no you are not dear you're eating some of the fruit that somebody has given to you and you like the sample very well.

The word says go in and possess the land and how do you know you'll get eradicated and when this man who has them disappears you won't be ever lost rather you're lost. Get cloud and then you'll have something tremendous something out of this world because your garden's been plowed and he's giving you is that hard?

I don't want to be hard I want to be very nice this morning and talk all about the sweet things and let's all get blessed. Well, gee I don't care about that. I'd rather tell you some facts so that when you face life and God begins to work with you you won't be ever lost and know what's gonna happen and when the plowshare that's the truth dips down into the crux of your living the crux of your living you can't get at you and when that happens and you plow right through that thing on it's not a really bad terrible thing it's nearly the same life that has to be torn up and exposed and dealt with and then by and by you'll get some fruit and you'll get some bread and you'll get some grapes and you'll get a whole lot of lovely things but you won't be brought from by the gods by venturing into these territories and coming back and it's quite a venture to be at some place.

I've eaten other people's grapes, haven't you? Oh, you've eaten other people's grapes, by the way don't look too dumb. But how many hours can one eat together? A few a few. Well, let's have a good harvest that will feed now, this morning I want to stir up two lines of sauce in my I don't know if I need the chocolate now let it go two lines of sauce.

Maturity Requires Progressive Possession

I want to finish somebody asked for this the reference and then I want to go on with the discipleship which we were dealing with yesterday. I have two three verses here concerning the marks of maturity.

Remember is this adolescence and youth manhood maturity. These these three things at least ought to be marks that we find in characteristics characterizing our life in this period that is there should be a gathering up of enough of it to give distinction to my life.

This ought to be the majority I would say the greatest strength of my spiritual life here should be characterized by this. As I grow I'm still bringing through to its maturity many items in my personality setup and my experience involved.

He doesn't mature it all at once and take every item in my being and all that's going to be required of me and all my possibilities of possession. He doesn't take all that right here and finish it here and finish it here.

He never does. He gathers up enough to give it identification. So we will know if it's an input and enough to give it identification. We're all over and overlapping just the same as here. No one says I ceased to be a child yesterday and today because I'm a grown youth and next week at two o 'clock in the afternoon I will become a man.

But they don't do silly things like that. These are all overlapping periods in which many of the items which have been dealt with, dealing with, push quickly out of here and then there's always the fringes of things left that have to be coming along.

They don't go at one instant finished thing. You may come to a crisis in which you may make your decisions and a crisis in which you say I desire to come into this. He says that's alright but both of these going to take all that's involved in one episode or one episode am sanctified but I am sanctified more and more and I'm going to be still more sanctified if you know what I mean.

I've had a crisis in which I have surrendered to God but I never finished all the work that had to be done. And if you think it's all finished and you've got an awful surprise coming. So don't be scared and don't be deceptive and call it something else.

Don't be deceptive. People are deceived in that and they're afraid of it. There are many things left here and left here and left here but they're coming but the majority the greatest issues are here. We're now supposing we come into this but the most of the items of our experience in God the most of these items could be characterized as times of maturity and manhood.

We know from experience that we can look back at this we can look back. We can't do that we can't look back at this. We look forward to it but here we keep looking back looking back that's the age. Age looks back through the vision that the old man dreams the dream.

Isn't that right? Psychologically that's true experimentally that's true in life and that's what I'm seeing here. It's a progressive growing thing when I say the greatest part of all these items that go to make us what we are that God is dealing with they give us the characteristic mark alright now these were the three that I said should be most manifest most pronounced they are not pronounced here.

The first one that I gave you yesterday was new horizons which the mature person begins to push out here the horizons of his living the child egocentric who has a very limited horizon who lives right here in the natural and in the spirit this is a natural picture but it has its analogy and parallel in the spirit and the newborn baby in Christ who may be a newborn baby 50, 60, 70 years old I've seen a lot of women who have been born and baptized in the spirit and loved the Lord and maybe for 10, 15 years who are yet in the spirit and who are not baptized 10, 15 years who are not baptized in.

Well, I think it's only fear. I don't think that's judgment in the wrong sense. If I didn't know there was a little boy, there's something wrong here. You've got to deal with it. And so it's fear. It isn't a judgment, it's because you sense that.

You sense it. They have nothing to give, nothing to offer, and here is an infant. There is an infant here because, you see now, his eyes are so limited. Everything you have in life knows it's all within this scope.

It's under this little dome here. The sky is lovely. But you see, fear, as I said, one of the marks that characterizes your maturity is the fact that your horizons have been pushed out. You push out your horizons in your thinking, in your living, in your spiritual apprehension, in your perspective of the thing that God is doing.

You push that right on out. God does it. The power of the Spirit is life. And where there's life, there's expansion and growth. That's a sign of it. Life is movement. Well, if life has its perfect outlet, you push out some horizons.

Then you need to remember that projection of these interests, and it's the setting of new goals, the little goals that satisfied us all the time here. They will serve. We put up new goals over here to intrigue you.

They call you. I'll tell you something, they challenge you. If you get one and do it, it'll challenge you right away. Think of the new goals that he sets up for us, and our experiences in him. You hear a message.

You read something. God deals with you. You read the Word, and the Spirit begins to speak through that Word. All of a sudden, he sets a new goal over there. He says, that's for you. Well, I didn't know about that before.

You know it now, don't you? Yes, sir. Well, that's your goal. We all have several new goals over here that we're going to be doing over here. Only just a little thing, just an idea of it. I didn't know exactly what it was, but it's there.

New goals, too far, I think, to go. Your first one seems 1024 in the Scripture verse of Solomon. Then in our second one was self-judgment, the valor that it takes and the courage that it takes to step out of this circle, out here, and judge yourself as God gives you light to see it.

Now, we were invited to do a party where all the folks were invited. You were invited to the places where you get blessed. And they said, my, what a wonderful experience she had. She got blessed powerfully, right?

I remember one serenade invited her down. She was wonderfully blessed. She came, she was, she was with you, but then she gave her testimony. She says, and the Lord blessed me. Oh, he blessed me terribly.

So, she blessed me, he blessed me terribly. Well, of course, that's all right. But he has another place for me where we do. It takes you quite a while to get used to it, to bless a Christian, even your first upheaval.

And then we try to fix it over or to do something to it. I think the best thing to do is disregard it. It's a wreck anyway. But a lot of Christian people can't see that. They think that they have to do something to it.

Well, now, there is a bad thing right there. Let's do something to it. No. I always say, let's hold this thing alone. It's now. It's bad. You don't do little items. It's the whole concept in itself. It is a natural thing.

And God is dealing with us in spirit with a new nature and a new being and a new spiritual concept of living. And that's what he's dealing with. So, we can't fix the other one over. Let's take this off and take this out and fix that.

It will be religious. It will be with the spirit. It will be the thing that God wants. It will be the thing that God is doing at all. Don't you know he says don't put a patch on the garment? Don't you remember that?

Well, even while he's talking about the philosophy of that, he's collecting the facts. That's real. That's good psychology and it's good philosophy and it's good teaching. But people won't. Even Christians won't.

They still are going to fix the other thing up some way. Take something out of it. Or put something in it or out of it. The whole thing is a wreck. Now, take your attention from that. Take your attention from that.

And take it from the fact I am not that. I am this. Paul says I am creature or a new creation. And he works continually from that premise in his recognition. And God does too. All the time you're fussing around that thing, that's lost time.

That's just, just it's lost time. And if you can hear him, I believe God would say hurry up. Get through with that. I want to go on with you. Some spend months under poor teachings and years because of poor teachings.

Poor teachings. Not scriptural but doctrinal. How many of you know you can have some pretty terrific doctrines but it's not spiritual, it's not scriptural, it is doctrinal. Doctrines are wonderful but they're not scriptural.

They're not workable. In the field of reality they do not work. In the field of theology they are tremendously interesting. Sometimes fascinating. But they are not workable. And God does not give us a thing that is not workable.

And from the premise of the fact I am a new creature in Christ Jesus he begins to work through it and he judges me and he sees me and he deals with me continually with that. That if I want not to live there, it is possible every time I want to go on I can step right out of that and be right over here.

When you were saved he didn't take you as an old creature and drown you in the Pacific Ocean. Come remember when he took you, saw your hand and he drowned you. He said this is a matter of faith. That's just as alive as it was the day you were born.

But judicially you see it as a good thing because death is upon us and it has died with me. But your Christian experience will grow from the fact that you know the differences and your choices continually swing with me here.

That's still there. Now, you don't get rid of it so easily. People say, oh well, well if we pray hard we can get rid of it. No, and you know after you are saved and sanctified wholly and baptized completely and almost truly glorified in this extremely lovely life and oh you just love the Lord terribly.

How do you know you still carry along with you a tremendous life that is veiled and any heart is deceived when he thinks it isn't there. Let's look at Paul for a minute. Now Paul is saved, believe it or not.

He is divinely called. He has been given a beautiful and wonderful commission. He is beautifully anointed of God so that he has supernatural visitations of God, inspirations of God to write inspired works.

Paul's Thorn and the Sufficiency of Grace

Now there is Paul's faith. What did he say? Lest I be exalted above measure. What's that mean? All that is in there that had never yet come to its surface and Paul was cast with that report from the third heaven.

He said, lest, lest means a possibility. What has happened? God has shown himself. Now don't pray and holler and scream and pound on the chair and beg for me to take that away. I am not going to take it away.

I'll give you a victory and I'm going to use an instrument, even your enemy, to do it. It's a great blessing because when I'm dealing with it, you misjudge the whole matter. You misjudge it. Now there is a tendency, a possibility is there that if it is given its right place, right environment, right condition, that can wreck the whole thing.

Now begin that. We can go like most people do. God is full of love and God is almighty and Jesus has died to give us deliverance. Amen. Oh, I've heard that. I want to say sit down. You haven't gone very far with the Lord yet and I can't bother with you just now.

Somebody please take them and go on. Let me go with this one. I can't get them anywhere. If, if, if, if, why doesn't that happen? It has to be instructed on just those lines and God doesn't say, and I'm going to just go boom like that and take that right away and it'll be lovely and you live with me and you'll have such a good time.

He did not. He says, you know, that it's in your own new creature in Christ that I'm going to use that. You should be exalted, which is the possibility. I'm going to give you something. This is the gift.

This is terrible too. He gives some terrifying gifts sometimes. They're not all just gifts of spirit. Fa la la la la. He says, I'm going to give you something. I'm going to give you a thorn in the flesh to keep you balanced where you belong.

I'd do it any other way. I'm going to give you a thorn in the flesh that it may counterbalance and take control of this situation. So then instead of being exalted and spoiling the whole thing, I'll give you a thorn in the flesh which will carry you through this.

No, it was the thorn first. But ooh, he would be going along wonderfully well and all of a sudden there would be some strange reaction. He would be... There were five of these reactions that he mentioned.

He was conscious of them every little while and it so disturbed him and his magnificent work. Never think of your work as being so terribly important. It's for you that's important. God wasn't after that work that Paul was going to do.

He's going to get that. It's God letting through anyway. He accomplished it. It's all God. Only through us. It isn't I. I don't do a thing. You don't do a thing. A man came back after he'd given his talents and all that story that Jesus told and he came back and he stood before him and the good master says, Oh my, I thank you so much for all these things you've done.

I never could have gotten along without you. He didn't even thank him. I mean, he never even thanked his servant. He did not. He didn't thank him. Well, why should you thank him for something I've done anyway?

Well, anything you accomplish has to be done in the spirit and that's of God. And nothing counts on that which is not in the spirit. Whatever he has has to be God anyway. He's going along. He just feels, Oh my, I'm so disturbed with this thing.

Now let me get rid of this thing. Let's have prayer and I'll get through this thing. It won't bother me anymore and I'll go on and do this magnificent thing for God to help him out. Poor God. He has had so many people help me out.

I'm so sorry. There are people when they work, that's the way they work. And the rest of them are defending him, going up and down the country arguing, doctrine and everything to keep him defended as though the Lord sat on a throne like he was teetering and he needed somebody to study him to keep him up on the throne.

Well, I meet people like that. I don't know. I'm very funny. I really just, I rarely talk to people. Well, there are very honest and there are far better people than I am. I wish I could be as good as they are.

What is his natural reaction? What does he naturally do? What's that thing? Seeming defeat. Here's an attack. Here's this and here's this. And they're all out interfering with you in your wonderful progressive boo-boo.

That's what I'm going to do. And so he prayed often. I don't know. That was quite popular. Well, you know there's three times an hour. Isn't that what they say? Three times an hour. So he tried three times and he went out.

He prayed again and there's no response. That means God isn't coming down and answered the prayer his way. How much easier, dear Lord, it would be if you shoot the devil. Well, I don't know. He didn't go to shoot the devil.

Why didn't God kill the devil, the young one, and let us all have a nice time? Well, the Lord doesn't want to. Can't you let the Lord have some things he wants to do? The Lord likes to have the devil around, you know, to use it.

He's the Lord's shepherd dog. He keeps sheep in the pastures. The Lord was brought up on a farm and when the cattle got loose, he had a dog that said, kick him, you know, and what'd the dog do? Well, he'd go down, hit the heels of the cow like that and get the cow over here with the dog.
