The Attributes and Nature of God as the Foundation of Theology

The attributes of God is a very important study when we look at theology because all of our understanding of theology will be rooted in the attributes and nature of God. One of the things that many people make a mistake about is to think that they can study theology and not spend the time to understand who God is.

Most of your theology will be rock solid if you get one thing right. The attributes and nature of God. God cannot work against His nature. Always remember that. So when we look at the nature, the attributes of God, it will help us in our theology.

We want to start a study looking at the different attributes of God so that when you study the scriptures, when you study theology, you will know that you have your theology right when it doesn't mess up with any of the attributes of God.

It's one of the things you will often find, especially with cults and false religions, they ultimately will mess up in one way or another the attributes and nature of God. They're going to say something that He doesn't say about Himself.

And so when we want to know if our theology is in error, we are going to know it when it messes up with the nature of who God is. A very simple way and that's what we're going to start a study on in the next couple of podcasts.
