But anyway, it caught my attention, and I thought, this cannot be real. But it is real.

Of course it's real. I mean, we're talking about the charismatic movement, after all. You will not believe this scam coming from Ron Carpenter.

Talk a little bit about him in just a second. When you look at the history of the charismatic movement, it is littered with prolific false prophets, egregious, brazen heretics, and sexually immoral people.

It's a pattern in that movement. And also con artists, scam artists.

And that goes all the way back to the beginnings of the charismatic movement. John Alexander Dowie was a con artist, as was

Charles Fox Parham, the father of the Pentecostal movement.

Boy, if you ever do some research on that scoundrel, oh my word. But he had a couple of different scams to raise money from people.

Maybe I'll do some more on him later. But at any rate, this is a pattern in the charismatic movement.

So why should it be any different today? It's not, of course. You won't believe this scam.

So Ron Carpenter is the pastor of Redemption Church. It is a large church.

There are two branches of it. One in Greenville, South Carolina. The other in San Jose, California.

And as best I can tell, has about 22 ,000 members.

So I've never talked about Ron Carpenter on this channel. Maybe you've not heard of him. But he has one of the largest churches in the country.

So he is very popular. I actually ran into him one time at the airport. And challenged him on his theology of healing.

He's word of faith, basically. Prosperity theology. Always God's will to be healed.

And I challenged him on that. I will say he at least talked to me for a few minutes.

But once I... I've seen this with Joel Osteen. I've seen it with Jesse Duplantis.

Two other well -known charismatic preachers I've been able to talk to personally. Once they realize you know what you're talking about.

Once they realize I have a little bit of theological wherewithal, I suppose.

To put it that way. Then they don't want to be challenged. They leave real quickly.

And it was that way with Ron Carpenter. He has got this new money -making scam.

So Ron Carpenter has this app, apparently, that's coming out. Where you can talk to Pastor Ron.

You can carry Pastor Ron around with you. 24 -7, 365. On your iPhone or your

Android or whatever. And if you ever need to talk to Pastor Ron, You can just whip out your phone and hit the little app there.

And talk to Pastor Ron. And he just gave an example of that. He said,

Pastor Ron, I'm not feeling well. And there's this little pause. And Ron Carpenter's own voice comes back.

It says, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. What an absolute joke.

This app, apparently, is going to cost you $49. So let's just round it up to an even $50, shall we?

$49 looks a little bit more affordable. It looks better for the eye. It's a little more pleasing to the eye.

But not for $50. Dear friends, When you shell out $50 for that app,

And you think you're carrying around Pastor Ron in your pocket. And you can call

New Testament. And Peter describes false teachers like this. I want to show you this.

This is from 2 Peter 2. Let's look at this. But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies even denying the master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be malign.

Now I want to pause there. Peter does not say that there might be false teachers among you.

He says that there will be false teachers among you. And how will they introduce their destructive heresies?

With flags waving, guns a -blazing, saying, I'm a false prophet, I'm a hireling, I'm a wolf, look out for me.

No, of course not. Secretly. They will have some truth in what they teach.

Every false teacher has some truth in what he or she teaches. But mixed in with that truth, heresy, theological poison.

In their greed they will exploit you with false words. How do you think it is that these prosperity preachers, these word of faith, health and wealth gospel preachers, afford these palatial mansions?

And apparently from what little work I did, Ron Carpenter himself lives in about, oh, was it

I think a $7 .2 million parsonage? Pretty impressive, especially in a state like South Carolina, which has pretty reasonable living expenses.

But at any rate, how do they live in such palatial houses?

Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, has the largest private residence in the state of Louisiana, 35 ,000 square foot parsonage.

Bigger than Ron Garbiner's. How do they afford it? Because they are exploiting you. You're poor?

Jude verse 12. Jude says, these are men who are hidden reefs.

He's talking about false teachers. Men who are hidden reefs in your love feast when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves.

That is one of the hallmarks of a false teacher. A false teacher does not care about you, does not care about God, cares only about himself or herself.

You think Ron Carpenter had his tech guys come up with an AI app, synthesize his voice because he cares about you.

Some of you have heard me say before that one of the hallmarks of or one of the reasons rather that false teachers are so prominent is that false teachers are, in and of themselves, part of God's judgment.

Sometimes people ask me, Justin, how can people believe these folks? They're so outlandish.

They've had so many false prophecies. They've had so many scandals. Their tales are so fantastical.

How can people be duped by these false teachers?

They are part of God's judgment. God said something very interesting in Jeremiah chapter five, verses 30 and 31.

God says, I have seen a horrifying thing in the land. The prophets prophesy falsely.

The priests rule on their own authority. And then God says, And my people love it so.

My people love it so. They want to be deceived.

Some people want to be deceived. People are getting to the point, as Paul said in 2

Timothy chapter four, where they will no longer endure sound doctrine, but will heap to themselves teachers who tickle the ears, people who have itching ears, and they'll heap to themselves these false teachers that tickle the ears.

Won't endure sound doctrine. That's exactly what we're seeing today. And so God, in an act of judgment, is basically saying,

Okay, you don't want sound doctrine. You won't endure that. You want someone to tell you it's always

God's will to be, always my will to be healed. Yeah, okay, here's Benny Hinn. Here's Kenneth Copeland.

You want someone to tell you that the most important thing is health and wealth. You know, have your best life now.

Here's Joel Osteen, and Kenneth Copeland, and Jesse Duplantis, and Joyce Meyer, and Joseph Prince, and Ron Carpenter, and Andrew Womack, and Todd White.

You know, how can people be so dumb to believe that Todd White is actually lengthening people's lives?

How is it that Michael Brown can give a full endorsement of Todd White, you know, a supposed intellectual in the charismatic movement?

If you will truly come to Christ in a godly sorrow over your sin and trust

Trust in Christ and His completed work on the cross. Not a false Jesus. Not a false

Jesus that promises health and wealth. No, a Jesus that actually promises persecution.

Christ who has satisfied God's wrath, His holy wrath that burns against sin.

And if you will come to Him empty -handed, He will save you. And if God grants you true repentance, true faith, true repentance, if He is kind enough to grant that to you, that repentance will be evidenced by you coming out and saying, you're a liar.

You've been giving false prophecies, teaching heresy, putting words in God's mouth that He did not say, and exploiting people with false words.

Boy, if there's ever been an example of 2 Peter chapter 2 exploiting you with false words, oh my goodness, how much more false can you get than from some
