The Truth of the Gospel in a Hostile Culture

Moms and dads, we don't stand out here to ridicule you, we don't stand out here to call you names. We stand out here to boldly proclaim the gospel and to speak truth to you. And sometimes the truth is offensive.

It's offensive to those who reject truth. It's offensive to those who hate the truth. See, we want to rebel against God because we love our sin. We want to reject the law of God because we want to live life how we see fit.

We want to be the arbiter of what is right and wrong, what is moral and immoral. So instead of submitting and obeying God, who has all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, who is the definer of truth and morality, instead of submitting and obeying Him, we rebel against Him because we don't want to submit to Him.

We don't want to do what He has commanded us to do. We want to live our lives selfishly. We want to elevate ourselves to the level of God so that we can live life however we see fit. But I promise you, ladies and gentlemen, that is a path to destruction.

That is a path to hell. So I stand out here to call out to you, begging you to turn. Change course. Don't continue down this path. Don't walk into this place to murder your baby. Don't do this barbaric thing.

The Sanctity of Life and the Image of God

We can't claim that we're the best nation in the world. We can't claim we're the most civilized nation in the world, that we're the most progressive, when we come from a nation that has murdered over 60 million of our own citizens.

60 million of our own children are dead. This is what is condoned and accepted and propagated in this country. So I beg you, Mom and Dad, don't follow along with what society says is right. Do what God says is right.

Be obedient to God. God declares in His Word what science is finally catching up and telling us, that that baby in the womb is a life, is a human being from the point of conception. Any science majors out there know that from the second the sperm touches the egg, it creates a zygote.

That's a unique, individual human organism. And that human being is growing. It's growing and developing. There's no argument that you can present that justifies murdering a child. All human beings are valuable.

We're worthy of dignity, respect, and love. And that's because we're all made in the image of God. That's the only way that justifies the way that we all live our lives. We expect people to treat us with love and respect.

We expect people not to come up on the side of the street and beat us, curse us. We expect that. We expect people to have decency towards us. But you can't justify that from an atheist worldview. You can't justify that from the worldview that we're all just matter in motion, that we're all just evolved protoplasm, evolved pond scum, bags of stardust.

You can't justify why you have value from that worldview. The only way you can justify that is if you're fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. See, God commands us to love our brothers and sisters.

And on top of that, not only do we love our neighbor, but He commands us to love our enemy. So I promise you, everyone standing outside there, all the women with the pink vest, believe me when I say this, we truly care for you.

We love you.

Repentance, New Birth, and Warning Against Lawlessness

If you were to take that vest off and flee that place, if you were to turn from this sin, we would welcome you with open arms. If you were to repent of this and turn from this wickedness, we would welcome you in as brothers and sisters in Christ.

But you have to flee from immorality. You have to flee from sin. God is clear in His Word. We can't knowingly live in sin and expect this attribute, God has a forgiveness of grace. We can't expect to have forgiveness when we knowingly rebel against God and knowingly live in sin.

Christ says, many will come to Me on that day. He's talking about the final day of judgment. And He says, many will come to Me and say, Lord, Lord, didn't we do all these things in Your name? Didn't we prophesy?

Didn't we cast out demons? Didn't we do all these things? And Christ will say, depart from Me. I never knew you, those who practice lawlessness. See, you can't practice lawlessness and claim that you know God.

You can't practice sin and claim that you're a Christian and a follower of God and His law. That doesn't mean Christians don't make mistakes. It doesn't mean that we don't sin. It means that when we do, we are riddled with guilt and shame because the Holy Spirit convicts us.

Repentance isn't just words out of your mouth. Repentance means a change of mind. It means you no longer think the way you used to when you were dead in your sins. See, Christ comes in, He gives you a new heart.

He gives you a new spirit. He gives you His spirit. And you're changed. You're made a new creation so you can no longer be like the old you. You can no longer live in your sin. So when you do stumble, when you do make mistakes, you turn from it.

You flee from your sin. You don't knowingly live in it and accept it and justify it. Ma 'am, please let us help you. This lady next to you is going to say all kinds of things to you. She's going to say, don't listen to them.

They're crazy. They're an occult. She's going to say whatever she can to hinder the furthering of the gospel. She doesn't want you to know the truth, ma 'am. And the truth is only found in Jesus Christ.

You need Him.
