Behold I Am Alive Evermore — Bakht Singh

This contains the message on Behold, I Am Alive Forevermore by the Lord's Servant, Brother Bhagat Singh, during the All India Holy Convocation held at Ebron, Hyderabad, on the evening of 2nd November 1965.

The message, translated into Telugu and Hindi languages by the Lord's Servants, Brother Sonra of Guntur and Brother Bendisamy of Vilaspur. The following song, sung by the Lord's Servant, Brother Martin, from the songs of Zion in Telugu, the number is 673.

We thank Thee for gathering us together. We thank Thee for the desire to speak to us. We thank Thee for the heavenly joy and perfect peace and everlasting life being offered to us so freely and lovingly.

We thank Thee for the day of grace when any siddha of any degree can become just and righteous in Thy sight. And we thank Thee for the efficacious blood of the avalanchic covenant to cleanse us and to keep us clean.

We thank Thee all who are here to receive their portion of the heavenly blessing. We claim everyone a worthy portion. On their behalf, we lay hold of Thee. Wherever they might be, any part of the compound, either here or elsewhere, may Thy Word enter every heart this evening hour.

The life of the Lord may begin to flow like a river in many hearts. This evening may be remembered in eternity. And by faith we mind-shatter and pray in the name of the Lord our Savior. I am he that liveth and was dead.

The Living Christ and His Promise to Return

And, behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And have the keys of hell and of death. Behold, I am alive forevermore. By these days, our attention is being drawn again and again to the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ.

And that is a very, very important subject in the Bible. There are two hundred and sixty chapters in the New Testament. And in these chapters, you find three hundred and sixty references only on this subject.

See, in these so many chapters, you find three hundred and sixty references on the last second coming. And twenty-eight chapters are wholly and solely devoted to the same subject. And the only subject which is dealt so exhaustively in the Word of God.

So, it is not without a purpose that this subject is being brought to our attention again and again in the Holy Convocation gathering. And we do trust that the Lord may help us understand fully the meaning of this wonderful subject.

Revelation’s Repeated Promise of the Second Coming

Now, see how many times the very same matter is repeated in this first chapter of Revelation. Chapter three, chapter one verse three, last part, the time is at hand. Then verse four, which is, which was, which is to come, which is to come, verse seven, behold he cometh with clouds, every eye shall see him.

Verse eight, and thereupon Omega, the beginning and the ending, said the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Now, you see how the same thought is being repeated in the whole book.

And that is the main purpose of the book of Revelation, to prepare us for the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ. If we keep ourselves ready for his coming, we can be saved from many dangers and many deceptions and many defilements.

From the beginning of the 6th century till the end of the 15th century, you find for a thousand years no reference made in sermons or books or teachings on the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ. As a man of God, John the Apostle was the most beloved disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. And that is repeated six times in John's Gospel. The disciple whom Jesus loved, and the same disciple is found now in prison in Patmos for the word of God and the testimony of Lord Jesus Christ.

Full of discouragement. Because at that time, things were happening among the believers which were beyond understanding. Same thing will happen in the end days also. We again remarked it this morning also, how the enemy becomes very active in the end days, as we see in chapter 12 of Revelation.

He will come like a roaring lion, he may come like a ravening wolf, or he may come like an angel of light. Or he may come like a flood. These are the four ways the devil uses to attack God's people in the end days.

And then you find, it is only by this very same matter, we can come victorious. When our Lord appeared to John the Apostle, and he found him so discouraged, he reminded him. I am the same who will come again.

And now what you cannot understand, you will know on that day. There is no need to be impatient. Lord, you shall answer all your questions, one by one, when you appear in glory. And also, the work of salvation will only be perfected on that day only.

Only on that day we know the fuller meaning and the greatness of our great salvation, and the greatness of great saviour. And that is a peculiar joy, in keeping yourself ready for that day. See how our Lord draws attention of the Apostle on some very important matters in the first chapter.

The Church as Christ’s Golden Lampstands

In verse four, he is rising upon his throne. The seven spirits which are before his throne. In the following verses, he is up on his feet again. In verse thirteen, he makes you see the glory of the seven golden candlesticks.

That means what kind of church our Lord is building. See how you find so many people only think of the church in terms of numbers and building activities. They don't know what church is. Even though it is a simple subject, and a very important subject, they don't know the real meaning of the church which our Lord is building.

They are spending so much money and energy on the building and the furniture and activities in the building. They don't know what church is. So these seven golden candlesticks tell us what the church is.

Then we see our Lord as our great heavenly high priest, as our laughing high priest, walking in between those candlesticks. And we see our Lord in new glory. He is here like a white ball. And with cloudiness like a beautiful midday sun.

Eyes like a flame of fire. From mouth going towards his sword. Feet like burning brass. And his hands like a thermostat. And wires like many waters. Garments very long and beautiful. As a golden girdle.

And these few details tell us about the glory and the beauty and the grandeur of our saviour who loved us and died for us. And there is a message for you and me in all the features of Lord Jesus Christ.

And we can spend many many hours in meditating upon the meaning of these features and their message. The Lord also knew that even John the apostle will find it very hard to understand fully the meaning of those features.

And that is why he is saying in verse 17 and 18. Fear not, I am the first and the last. Verse 18. I am heat and liver. And there lies a great secret. I am heat and liver. Unless we have a fuller experience of the living Lord Jesus Christ, we can't understand what he is saying now.

They don't enjoy these truths. Unless we have that deep experience of living Lord Jesus Christ, whatever is being said in this book of Revelation, other books will not help you. Experiencing Christ’s Resurrection Life

Now can we say like Paul the Apostle in Galatians 2 .20, Christ liveth in thee. Now can we say like Paul the Apostle in Galatians 2 .20, Christ liveth in thee. No doubt we know it by theory, by the experience.

And that's our burden this evening. That before we go further in the Holy Convocation, we might have a deeper and a fuller experience of the living Lord Jesus Christ. It is such experience which will help you to enjoy the meetings and the prayer and the fellowship, whatever you have over here. It is such experience which will help you to enjoy the meetings and the prayer and the fellowship, whatever you have over here.

The food they give you over here, you enjoy it fully. However you are staying, we might give you the best food available in whole Hyderabad. We might give you 25 eggs for your breakfast. And 35 cups of coffee also.

And whatever kind of food you want. And 25 pillows for your head also. Even then you will be found murmuring and complaining. You will never satisfy. But we love to come here to you. Comfort and convenience are handicapped.

And also even when you go from here, whatever may be your situation, your joy will be abundant. And your life will be triumphant and victorious. And that is why our Lord was again, to live in us. Now many people say in theory, yes, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe.

But they haven't got the experience of it. But they haven't got the experience of it. We see Romans 6 chapter. And verse 5. If we have been planted together in likeness of death, we shall be also in likeness of resurrection.

Now these two go together. That word planted speaks of the grafting. You have seen the fruit tree being grafted in your villages or cities. Every best fruit is produced by grafting. Mangoes, apples, apricots, peaches, whatever they may be, all by grafting.

Oranges. Mangoes, oranges, apricots, peaches, whatever they may be, all by grafting. You find how a tree yielding small fruit, sour fruit, can yield larger good fruit. Any small fruit, sour fruit, can yield larger good fruit by grafting, can yield larger good fruit by grafting.

Now you have seen in your village, those trees yielding very very small mangoes and sour mangoes. You have seen in your village, those trees yielding very very small mangoes and sour mangoes. And how, later on, the very same tree was yielding nice large mangoes.

And you can see that the same small and sour trees are now yielding good and large fruits. How did it happen? They brought one branch for the tree. Not a very long one. And then it was grafted. And they found some change taking place in the first year, second year and third year.

And in the first year, second year and third year, you can see some change taking place in the tree. And the whole tree was changed. Leaves have changed, fruits have changed, everything changed. And that is happening every day in every part of the world.

And your pastor uses the very same word, planted or grafted in the death of Lord Yesterday. And he says, and likewise in resurrection. Then he says, there must be some change taking place in you also.

If this tiny little branch of one tree can accomplish a big change in the whole tree. How much more the victory of Lord Yesterday in your life and my life. Otherwise there is no use of his dying. He did not die just to cover your tears.

He did not die to get your compassion and shed tears for him. As many people think, they think that before Easter week, by not taking meat, they have a cloth in them. In that period, they won't take meat also.

They will look miserable. Some even fast in that period. The Lord did not die for that purpose. He died to benefit you for eternity. He died to give you eternal life. And he died to make you a new creation.

And make you triumphant and victorious anytime, everywhere. Have you found that experience? Are you conscious in you, working in you, working through you? We have seven real proofs of the fact that he is a living saviour.

Seven Proofs That Christ Is the Living Savior

Anybody want to question us, how do you know, how can you prove he is a living saviour? We can give seven proofs by God's help. First of all, the promises made in the old testament by many prophets. Those of you who go outside, don't again come back please.

You remain outside the pandal, don't again come inside. Those of you who go outside, remain outside the pandal, don't again come inside. Book of Isaiah. And chapter 25. Isaiah 25. God says, He will swallow up death in victory.

Lord God will wipe away tears on all faces. Isaiah 26. And verse 19. My dead men shall live, together my dead bodies shall they arise, awake and sing. Hosea 13. Verse 14. Arrest them from the grave. Redeem them from death.

O death, I will die praying. O grave, I will die reception. Verse 16. Verse 10. The will not leave my soul in hell. There will not suffer the Holy One's corruption. That's our first dead proof that our Lord is a living saviour.

Nobody ever dreamt of conquering death. Only one case in the whole world history. He will swallow death in victory. And He had done it for you and me. He had done it for you and me. The prophecy the Lord Himself made to His disciples before being crucified.

Saint Mark 8 .31. Saint Mark 8 .31. He began to teach them. When a man must suffer many things. Be rejected of the elders. And be freed. And strive and be killed. Out of three days rise again. Mark 9 .31.

Mark 9 .31. He taught disciples. When a man must suffer. Hands of men. They kill him. I was killed. He suffered it. 10 .34. 10 .34. They will mock Him. Scold Him. Spit upon Him. They will kill Him. Third day He will rise again.

John 10 .18. John 10 .18. No man take it from Me. It is Myself. I have found it down. And power to take it again. That is our second proof. Lord Jesus Christ very clearly. Plainly. Repeatedly. Told disciples.

How you will suffer. Our sake. And be spit upon. And be revived for our sake. Then rise again. Lord Jesus Christ very clearly. Plainly. Repeatedly. Told disciples. How you will suffer. And be spit upon.

The testimony born by the angels. On the early Easter morning. He is not here. But it is done. Then fourthly, and verse three, they entered in and found out the body of Lord Jesus. The empty sepulchre.

It can be seen today in Jerusalem. Everyday people go there who all part of the world to see it. That is our fourth proof. The empty sepulchre. No other sepulchre is found in any part of the world. Other sepulchres and graves full of dead men's bones.

The empty sepulchre. Go and see it. That is fifthly, our Lord appealed ten times to different disciples in forty days. I will rule again. Five times on the Easter day. Again five times from his second day till the day of the ascension.

He first appeared to Mary a sepulchre. Then other women who were returning from sepulchre. Then he appeared to Simon Peter. Then he appeared to other disciples going to Emmaus. And in the evening he appeared to all the disciples in the room, doors being shut.

Then sixthly, he appeared to five hundred disciples in Jerusalem. And you see in first Corinthians chapter three, number six. Then he appeared to James the apostle. And then he appeared on the spot to Thomas Sachs.

On the eighth day, he appeared eighth time to Thomas Sachs. And then in John chapter 21, he appeared ninth time at Lake Tiberias. Then he appeared to Bethany before he ascended into heaven. And like that he appeared ten times in the forty days.

To show us the same way. That he may come into us by the power of resurrection. Whosoever we are. And then sixthly, he appeared to Stephen when he was about to be stoned. And he was being reviled and mocked.

And when Stephen was about to be stoned, he was being reviled and mocked. And in seven chapters, family was fifty-four and fifty-five. When they heard him sing, they were covered with heart. They gnashed on him with their teeth.

But he was full of holy ghost, looked up. Then he went to heaven and saw Jesus standing in front of God. And he said, Behold, I see heaven opened and Son of Man standing in front of God. When they heard him sing, they were covered with heart.

This is our sixth year proof. How he appeared to men like Stephen and men like Saul became fog. How he appeared to men like Stephen and men like Saul became fog. There is one more proof. Which is much more important than the other six proofs.

Which is much more convincing to those whom you speak to. Which is much more convincing to those whom you speak to. He lives in every believer. All who believe on him in any period, any part of the world.

He comes to live in them. All who are here can say the very same thing. He lives in me. He lives in me. But it ought to be a true testimony. And that's why we put the same question to you. Does the Living Lord Jesus live in you?

Christ Living Within the Believer

We don't wish to know your name. We don't wish to know your name. Whether your name is Matthew or Matthew, we don't care. Whether it's gold or gold. We don't have much of a difference. We don't have much of a difference.

You are Benjamin or Ephraim. The question is, does the Living Lord Jesus live in you? We don't care how much money you are giving and where you are giving. We don't care how much money you are giving and where you are giving.

It's a simple question. Which you must answer. And ask before God. You can't see man but not God. Does the Lord Jesus Christ rule again for you and me, live in you? Does the Lord Jesus Christ rule again for you and me, live in you?

If He lives in you, there must be some proof of His coming to you. If He lives in you, there must be some proof of His coming to you. Then all your questions will be solved automatically. Then new life coming into you will lift you up.

And that's called the power of resurrection. It's a death conquering power. It's the highest power in the whole universe. That power which overcomes death. That power which can make a mortal man immortal.

That power which can make a worshiper a king of God. That power which can make a sinner a king of God. It's a gift of God. Very simple. Very simple. Yet it makes it so complicated. If you say, I believe the Lord Jesus died for my sins.

If you say, I believe the Lord Jesus died for my sins. Then you also got to believe automatically, the same Lord who died for you, also rose again for your sake. Then you also got to believe automatically, the same Lord who died for you, also rose again for your sake.

And that's why in that fragment Romantic chapter,. And that's why in that fragment Romantic chapter, and verse 5, if we have been planted together, in the likeness of death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

In the likeness of death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, then surely we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

Don't think like this, Lord, I am sorry, I am a sinner, I believe in sin, this is how you will get it. If you say, I believe the Lord Jesus died for my sins. And if you say, I know, he rose again for my sins.

If you say, I know, he rose again for my sins. But he has to come into you. But by faith we have to welcome him, receive him, and believe he has come in. But by faith we have to welcome him, receive him, and believe he has come in.

He died so that we might die in the old nature. It is in all nature responsible for all your troubles. There are some skin diseases with a very, very deep hidden root. People try to cure that disease by outward ointment.

Whenever they have any itching sensation, they get some ointment outwardly. And they feel better for few hours. Or maybe even few days even. Now, yes, I am now quite alright. I don't see any sign over here.

But again they find the same thing appear, same spot. I know of people of the same nature, who are scratching their legs and their hands and their feet for the past 25 years. Always. Like this they go on scratching.

Sometimes they want some piece of stone to scratch also. At that time itchiness is so bad, that they have to take a piece of stone and scratch. And then their children come and start scratching with the stone.

But they do not know the root cause of the disease. Unless the roots are cured, they won't go away. So by some injection you can kill the root also. Then you find the same disease is cured no time. They have been scratching and scratching morning, midday, night, the whole day.

They have been scratching for many many years. Empty so many box of ointments. And it will get worse now. Get your roots pulled out please of disease. Don't worry about sinful nature. Every human being is about sinful nature.

And that nature can't be changed by fasting or noted or meeting the religion. You got to take into you by faith the power of death of Lord Jesus Christ. That is the only remedy. There is no other remedy.

Only by that power you can die completely. And that's why you need the Holy Spirit and understanding. To live a better life you require a divine nature. You can't become an Englishman only by putting on a suit and tie.

Even though you might have a pale complexion like Benjamin. Then you are Indian also. You got to be born in a new country. You got to have a divine life. The life will give you new hunger and new thirst and new desire.

It will lift you day by day more and more. That's why I will ask again. To live in us. To work in us. And to work through us. And to make us completely new. And finally make us immortal king and priest.

Suffering as Preparation for the Eternal Kingdom

He is seeking you for a higher purpose. He wants you for a very big purpose. For an everlasting kingdom. And that's why in chapter 1 revelation. He made John to see his throne. His heavenly kingdom. And showed to him.

John I am preparing these people for my everlasting kingdom. Not for a earthly kingdom. And all these sufferings and trials are for a purpose. So for a true believer every suffering is a blessing. It is not a punishment.

For a sinner it is a punishment. For a rebellious it is a punishment. And for a strong heart it is a punishment. But for a believer any suffering of any kind is a blessing to you. And by that you are being prepared for your heavenly vocation, heavenly calling, heavenly kingdom.

And by that you are being prepared for your heavenly vocation, heavenly calling, heavenly kingdom. And you get a fuller appreciation of things of eternity. Now there is a flower of jasmine in North India.

And it gives the strongest fragrance and darkest night. And a molded night and sunlight not too sweet. And the darkest night you find the strongest fragrance. And the darkest night you find the strongest fragrance.

Same way you find the life of Lord Jesus Christ. You find your dead body more precious, more sweet, more inspiring in your toil and suffering. That time you are being taught many many hidden divine mysteries.

That time you are being taught many many hidden divine mysteries. I will never learn these truths by any book or any scholarship. I will never learn these truths by any book or any scholarship. The Lord himself became more precious and more near in these sufferings.

The Lord himself became more precious and more near in these sufferings. That will prove that power in new way. It is wonderful. How that power is given to us when we ask for it. How that power is given to us when we ask for it.

But we don't ask for it. We long for knowledge, we long for other things but not this power. Now please tell me truthfully. Are you conscious of the living Lord living in you? Does he speak with you? When you pray, does he ask you a question?

And when you walk with him, do you feel better, do you feel happy, do you feel strong? And when you walk with him, do you feel strength, do you feel freshness? Do you long to go to him? Does he teach you something new everyday?

Are you conquering your temptation and your sin day by day? Then what else found the same joy and peace to you? Otherwise he has not taught you. He has not come into you. Even though you may love him and respect him and say, I believe in him.

I may go on saying, so and so is a great doctor. Wonderful doctor. Very clever doctor. I respect him. I love him. I know him. I have seen many being cured by him. And what about you? How about you, Signal?

I can't say about that. I can't say about that. None of these things can help you that way. You got to have a definite first experience of living Lord Jesus Christ. Then you won't have to go about with a sorrowful face.

The Risen Christ’s Call to Forgiveness and Faith

We find Easter morning. And our Lord appears to Mary. She was weeping. Our Lord said to her. Woman, why weepers thou? Whom seekest thou? Woman, why weepers thou? Whom seekest thou? She never knew who was speaking to her.

She thought he was a gardener. She thought he was a gardener. Then our Lord called her by her name. And straightway, everything disappeared. Her job was so great. We find everywhere weeping believers.

But a very small thing they start weeping. They weep very, very loudly. They can be heard even in America even. They can be heard even in America even. Very small things they start weeping. They weep before their wealthy uncles.

They weep in front of a very famous relative. Weeping in Delhi, weeping in Hyderabad. Weeping in Delhi. Then walking with a very strong pain. The whole world look at them now. Now our number is six, then seven, then eight, then nine.

Then we go on and worry and nothing else. Then we go on and worry and nothing else. Then we cross the river weeping for something. They don't know of their failure. They don't know of their power. They don't know of their strength.

They don't know of their love and grace. They know the game to be with us. Behold, I am with you always. For every purpose, you find every question fully answered by the living Lord Jesus Christ. But first of all, you must forgive yourself.

Then, and then only, it comes into us. Did you ever hear these words, my son, my daughter, my child, thy sins be forgiven thee. Then day by day, my son, I am with thee. The very same word our Lord spoke to John the Apostle.

Fear not. Don't look at the situation. Fear not. I am alive. For your sake. I am alive. To carry you so triumphantly, that will be your daily experience. But you must now receive Him as living Savior.

Please, do not remain in false position. There are some people, who are only compounded. But they boast as doctors also. They can give injections. That's quite all right. They can give penicillin and also other tablets.

They are not even doctors. Please, don't be in a false position. Be a true believer. Lord Jesus Christ rose again for your sake. Now shall we pray. And please don't move in prayer. And we don't give a chappal to be finished, a cycle.

Falling, those who are going, can't leave.
