Politics, Morality, and the Presidency

The Rapport Daily Edition where we provide a quick biblical interpretations and applications. This is a ministry of striving for eternity.

Since this week we're going to address the issue of politics, let's address the elephant in the room, the current president. I find it interesting that many that do not support President Trump want to argue that Christians somehow should not celebrate him, promote him, or endorse him because of his sexual immorality.

Now, here's the interesting thing. Those very same people, well, they were very supportive of President Clinton and he was far more immoral than President Trump was. However, the real issue is not whether I agree with his morality.

I do not. It's one of the reasons I had issues to vote for him back in the last election. However, one of the things that we have to remember is we are not voting for pastor. That's right. We're voting for president.

When it comes to the voting, we have to vote on the person who can do the best job as president. We are a very unique country because we're based on Christian values. The founders valued that we, as individuals, have the right to have a say in our elections, in our government, and we must take that serious.

We are not voting purely on morality, though morality does count. Clearly, we don't want an immoral president, but given the choices, who's going to rule the best?
