Hello and welcome back to Daily Bites God's Word. This is Andy Cain, and it is a joy to be back with you once again.
Today we're looking at Psalm 119, verse 61. It says, This chords of the wicked, this was a phrase that was used in this time to sort of describe being trapped, being sort of encircled on all sides.
If you're a town or if you're someone that's being invaded or somebody that's, you know, got your enemies coming up against you and they circle all around you, you talk about circling the wagons, you know, you're all circled around and you're sort of covered on every side.
This is sort of the idea here. The chords of the wicked have encircled me. There's no exit.
There's no side where there's opening. It's full. It's all around you and it can make you sometimes you can feel this way.
Sometimes it really is this way. And you have a lot of things coming from all angles. Well, regardless, the chords here, these chords of the wicked, they're encircling
David. They said they're encircling me. I feel trapped. But he says, This is important.
See, we don't need to make excuses. We can't say, well, you know, things are pretty hard for me right now.
And that's my excuse for not following God's Word. Or you know what? I don't have enough money or resources, you know, things are just really hard.
People are coming after me all the time. Yet, it'll be alright if I get by with a little sin, right? Well, no.
The goal of the Christian, the goal of what we should be is that even if wicked people, wicked sinful things are encircling us, the trials and sufferings of life have us feeling trapped, whatever it is, we don't forget
God's law. We don't forget to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, to love
His law, to love His Word. Amen? Well, I want to encourage you, next time you feel yourself encircled, next time you feel yourself like this, don't forget the
Word of God. Don't neglect it. It's the very food for your soul that you need. Amen?
