Apologia Moment | Asia Argento Accused

I'm Daniel Schultz, and this is an Apology A Moment. Actress Asia Argento, one of the leaders of the Me Too movement, has reportedly been accused of sexual harassment by a young male actor. Argento reportedly paid the young actor $380 ,000 after allegedly assaulting him when he was only 17 years old.

Argento had been in the news lately due to her accusations of harassment and sexual assault against media mogul Harvey Weinstein. Argento's fellow activists have been quick to distance themselves from her.

The Sinfulness of Everyone and the Failure of the Me Too Movement

The sad truth of this situation is that no one within this movement has an answer for these types of things. There is no repentance or grace in this movement, only condemnation. When thinking about this story, we should not miss how it illustrates that everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Argento was sinned against, and in turn sinned against another person. No one is free from the curse or sting of sin. As Christians, we must strive to live not as the world does, not being hypocrites who say one thing and do another, but instead we must strive to be like Christ, who was without sin, yet became the sin bearer for his people.

Judge not that you be not judged, for with the judgment you pronounce, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in.

Your own eye?

Or how can you say to your brother, let me take the speck out of your eye, when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

God calls us to purity in all aspects of our lives, including sex. Let us as Christians strive to be like Christ in all that we do, and let us not be like those who cannot see the log in their own eye, but instead let us judge with righteous judgments.
