Hi there, I'm Dr. John White, WebMD's Chief Medical Officer and host of the Health Discovered Podcast, where we bring you fascinating stories and unique perspectives, like our recent episode on how heart failure can particularly affect women and Black and Hispanic communities.

We've documented it time and time again. She was young, she was Black, she was a woman. No one expected her to look like the face of heart failure. When you don't look like what someone expects, that's gonna lead to delays in diagnosis.

We all have to take this consolation of symptoms, treat it the same each and every time, whether it's a young person, a Black person, a woman. If someone presents to me with my heart racing and feeling winded, I need to get an echocardiogram 100 of the time, regardless.

Is God Fair?

With a rapid-pull daily edition, where we provide a quick biblical interpretations and applications, this is a ministry of striving for eternity.

Is God fair? Now, this often comes up when speaking of the extermination of the Canaanites, and somehow God is not fair that he would basically wipe out a whole group of people. Let's first deal with the first issue of is God fair, and then we'll deal with the Canaanites.

So is God fair? Well, absolutely, he must be, because the very definition of what is fair comes from the nature of God. That's how we know what fair and unfair is. It comes from the very nature of God.

Therefore, there's no way to even have a standard to judge what's fair and unfair without first precluding God, and the only absolute universal standard that you can have to judge what's something as fair is God himself, his nature.

The Justice of God and the Canaanites

So yes, God is fair, but what about the Canaanites? Wiping out a whole group of people, that doesn't seem fair. Well, those Canaanites should have been killed by the moment they disobeyed God's law. They should have had justice.

God was long-suffering with them, but they were so rebellious, they ended up, even their children have to be killed? Yes, even the animals? Yes, because they were so wicked, they were training children as young as four, five years old to be raped, to be having sex with animals.

The animals didn't know the difference, so the animals would keep having sex with humans. The whole population had to be wiped out because that was God's justice on a wicked population.
