Lord will be saved now I'm perfectly fine with that as an evangelism method to share the gospel with somebody else but I still think you need to have the law in there you have to show a person exactly how they have sinned it takes more than saying all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God you have to explain what sin is and how that person has sinned in in these occasions that I've had walking up to a person on the street or doing evangelism in this way

I rarely ever have anybody disagree with me regarding sin in that they will they will readily admit that they have sinned it usually goes something like this oh yeah but we've all made mistakes right everybody said

I think you'll do pretty good but today as we look at this particular section here in Romans 10 and I've quoted these verses to you already we have two very common verses when it comes to evangelism and two verses that are very often taken out of context as well and surely you know

I'm referring to Romans 10 verses 9 and 10 yesterday we finished off with verse 8 this is where we would be picking up today but what does it say the word is near you in your mouth and in your heart that is the word of faith that we proclaim that's important to keep in mind as we go into verses 9 and 10 exactly what

Paul says there in verse 8 remember how we finished up yesterday verses 6 and 7 the righteousness based on faith says we don't have a righteousness based on keeping the law we couldn't do that we failed at that but righteousness based on faith in Jesus Christ here's what that says do not say in your heart who will ascend into heaven that is to bring

God has saved you and therefore you believe you believe and therefore you confess these are fruits of the salvation or it is a it is a demonstration of the salvation that we have been given in Christ alone by faith in Christ alone we go on to verse 10 for with the heart one believes and is justified and with the mouth one confesses and is saved now notice they're justified and saved that's the same thing if if one believes and is justified then why does one therefore need to confess and be saved well remember that a lot of times saved salvation these words can also be synonymous with sanctification or growing in holiness so you are justified you're declared innocent before God by faith in Jesus Christ with the heart one believes and is justified but then further action is demonstrated showing this justification has taken place and that is the confession that comes from the mouth and so with these confessions as we continue to proclaim as we share and speak of the things of God we are being grown in sanctification we are becoming more
