The TWISTED World of False Christian Teachers

How do we know which Christian teachers are dangerous and should be avoided? Of course, we should look at whether the

Christian teacher is teaching heretical doctrines. Another thing we should look at is what kinds of other

Christian teachers a particular Christian teacher is endorsing and promoting. Now, some accuse

Vodibachum of partnering with and endorsing, or tacitly endorsing, false teachers.

Keep all of this in mind as we begin with Vodibachum's staggering compromise.

Beginning with the Singh Conference, that little circle down there is none other than Chris Tomlin, one of Joyce Meyer's worship leaders.

This is false worship. So did Vodibachum not look at the roster when he was invited to the Singh Conference, to a worship conference?

Did he stop following his own philosophy of ministry and philosophy of worship?

Did he just stop caring? Exactly what happened here? It was Vodibachum himself, doing favors for favors, networking with his friends, to the not mere exclusion of truth, but to the militating against it.

But tacit endorsement is a pretty nebulous term. No one knows what it means, but it's provocative.

Vodi actively teaches against the teachings of false teachers. This movement essentially tells us that we can have everything we want and Jesus, whereas Christ has come, bid us to come and die.

This movement says you don't have to. Your flesh doesn't have to die. Your yearnings, your desires don't have to die.

Your materialism doesn't have to die. In fact, you can have it on steroids and still be all that Christ has called you to be.

And we'd argue that he never explicitly endorses heresy or Christian teachers who teach blatant heresy.

Vodi once shared this photo with Tony Evans on Instagram, which generated some controversy.

Vodi used to speak at Tony Evans' church quite a bit until their doctrinal views went other directions, different directions.

They disagree and they have made it very clear by their teachings and preachings and writings where they stand.

So if you've done any homework into who these two men, you know that they disagree theologically and this is not them endorsing each other.

While we certainly have some strong theological disagreements with Evans. But I believe that Jesus Christ in his death covered original sin, that the thing that the death of Christ did was cover and overrule original sin so that no man is condemned because they're born in Adam, but men are condemned because they consciously reject salvation.

We wouldn't go as far as to say that Evans teaches a false gospel.

You can start with the bad news of why the gospel is needed in the first place. And that is

Romans 3 .23, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In contrast, let's connect the dots between some other church leaders and see where they lead.

Make sure to watch until the end because many of these dots lead to a surprising person.

Kenneth Copeland is clearly a false teacher who teaches the prosperity gospel.

He's continually bumping me in that direction, trying to get me over into my prosperity place, trying to get me over in my healing place.

And numerous other heresies. When I read in the Bible where he says, I am, I just smile and say, yes,

I am too. Because Copeland's teachings are so clearly and thoroughly problematic, we should at the least be extremely wary of any supposed

Christian teacher who endorses, promotes, or praises Copeland. For example,

Todd White has praised Copeland. Kenneth Copeland has taught me so much.

I, I, you guys can think what you want. There's people that have said, I've had partners that are partners with lifestyle.

They're like, well, now that we know that you're in cahoots with this false prophet, we don't want to partner with you. I feel bad for you.

I do. I don't, I don't need your partnership. It's not about that. See, you don't know that Kenneth Copeland is one of the most generous people alive on the planet.

Perhaps the reason White never mentions Copeland's countless problematic teachings is because White himself believes most of these things too.

Joel Osteen, although much more likable than Kenneth Copeland, is also clearly a false teacher who explicitly says that rather than talking about sin, he just wants to talk about how people can live better lives.

I probably categorize it bigger, but I don't feel like I'm supposed to go and beat people down. Most people know what they're doing wrong.

I know I'm not a traditional pastor in terms of I'm just going down teaching scripture by scripture because what

I would teach would just be more how to live a great life. Of course, this is not the gospel, and Osteen also teaches heretical prosperity in word of faith doctrines.

I want to talk to you today about how your words become your reality. Words are like seeds.

When you speak something out, you give life to what you're saying. If you continue to say it, eventually that can become a reality.

You are prophesying your future. Now, let's take a look at who praises, promotes, and endorses

Osteen. Carl Lentz, former pastor of Hillsong Church, said this about Osteen.

Well, first of all, I love Joel, and I'm thankful for men like him who have paved the way for younger guys like me.

His message of hope is similar to ours. I think we both believe that Jesus can change your life. Joseph Prince, pastor of the megachurch

New Creation Church in Singapore, appeared with Osteen in an interview and agreed with Osteen's completely unbiblical view of repentance.

You know, the word repentance, like Joel said, is from the Greek word metanoia, which literally means change your mind.

And every time like Joel or me preaching the word without using the word repentance sometimes, but people's minds are being changed all the time, from thinking this way negatively to thinking positively.

You know, repentance is going on all the time in Joel's church, in my church, and hopefully in your church as well. And you don't have to have this breast -beating shout,

Oh Jesus! Judah Smith, pastor of Church Home, the church that Justin Bieber seems to be attending, said this about Osteen.

And one of the things I admire about you most, Pastor Joel, is that you are not attempting to live what you preach, but you're already living it, and then it just comes out of your life.

I want to thank you for that. It's so inspiring when I see you preaching and teaching. Chad Veach, pastor of Zoe Church, the church that Chris Pratt attends, said this about Osteen.

Best time with Joel Osteen today. Hashtag faith forward future. Stephen Furtick, pastor of the immensely large and popular

Elevation Church, has preached at Lakewood, the church that Osteen pastors. Man, what an honor to be here though.

Really, really have looked forward to it and anticipated it. I want to take a moment and honor my friend,

Pastor Joel Osteen. Some of the greatest messages that I got from him were on my phone when he was texting me encouragement to tell me in seasons where it was difficult for me to deal with criticism and just the things that come along with a growing ministry that I was going to make it.

And so has Joyce Meyer. Hey, right now, I'm so honored to have somebody that we admire greatly, we love.

Ms. Joyce Meyer, one of a kind, has changed the world. She comes twice a year.

And so has T .D. Jakes. I will give thee the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.

I'm going to unlock stuff that nobody knows but me and you. T .D. Jakes is arguably even more influential than Joel Osteen, despite being much more blatantly a false

Christian teacher. Jakes teaches numerous heresies, including modalism, a distortion of the

Trinity. If you want to best understand the relationship between Christ and God, next time you have a glass of water, put some ice in it.

How can one element be three things at the same time and still be one?

It happens in your kitchen every day. And the prosperity gospel.

I started giving on the level where I put God in debt and God said, I'll owe no man.

I started giving on the money that I wanted to make. I started giving on a deal that hadn't closed yet and that God had to open up the windows of heaven and pull me out of blessing because he wasn't going to be in debt to me.

Who praises, promotes and endorses Jakes? Pretty much the same group that endorses Osteen.

Stephen Furtick gushes over Jakes. Deep down, all preachers and leaders hope that at the end of our lives, we will have preached one sermon as good and true as Bishop T .D.

I get a chance. Most significantly, we find that both Joel Osteen and T .D.

Jakes praise and endorse Oprah, who, despite claiming to be a Christian. I am not talking about religion.

I am a Christian. That is my faith. I'm not asking you to be a Christian. If you want to be one,

I can show you how. Is obviously not at all even close to being a

Christian. One of the mistakes that human beings make is believing that there is only one way. We don't accept that there are diverse ways of being in the world, that there are millions of ways to be a human being and many paths to what you call

God. If it brings her to the same point that it brings you, it doesn't matter whether she called it God along the way or not.

Yet, Osteen treats Oprah and her audience as if they don't need to repent of sin and turn to Christ for their salvation.

I think it's just so important to never speak negative words about yourself, your family.

It may come to your mind, but don't give your words life by speaking them out. Could you lead us in a few

I am's? Absolutely. Okay. I am strong. I am strong. I am healthy. And Osteen goes out of his way during a church service to acknowledge and praise

Oprah. Today, we are so honored to have a world changer, a history maker.

One of the great voices of our generation, Ms. Oprah Winfrey is right here. Likewise, Jake's teaches life lessons about human goodness and potential to Oprah and her audience, suggesting that they do not need to repent of sin or turn to Christ for their salvation.

It is only when you are able to get it down to the core. Okay. The core essence, when you touch the core and you get down to the seed, you have then gotten to the place where you can find as fullest and best potential.

The sea turtles are born on land. The first thing without any training, any background, any experience or anybody to guide them, the first thing they do is turn to the water because instinctively they know that they were created to be in the water.

What do you do instinctively? What is your sweet spot? And when you flow in it, it is natural to you.

And Jake's makes a video praising Oprah without mentioning her sin or need to turn to Christ for salvation.

Dear Oprah, you have inspired an entire generation, informed us, exposed us and challenged us.

You made us forfeit the dismal waters of mediocrity to experience the blissful while of becoming the highest expression of ourselves.

When we connect the dots between popular Christian teachers, we find a theme. When we start at Oprah and see the lines of supposed

Christian teachers who supposedly Christian messages, even someone like Oprah would approve of, it's easy to see which

Christian teachers are teaching a false gospel message that doesn't properly acknowledge sin, repentance and the need to turn to Christ alone for salvation.
