03:00
We've never actually done this before, and actually, I didn't ask my board, so I may have gotten in trouble.
03:06
We'll see. I just made the executive decision that we were doing half off to save us from moving all the inventory.
03:14
So what do they believe? What do we believe? It'd be a great time to buy those.
03:19
We have a lot of those, so if we can carry less of them when we move out to Pennsylvania, we're moving everything out there, so that would be helpful.
03:31
Again, just to remind you, Justin Peters has got a new website, so check that out.
03:38
Also, as just a reminder here, please be sharing this on social media.
03:45
We want to be able to have people get this teaching, but if you'd like us to come to your church,
03:51
Justin and I can do that. We do something different. Justin, you brought up in the last session some things with social justice, and what we're doing is when we come to your church, we could do an all -day
04:02
Saturday, which would be similar to what we're doing here, but if your church wants to have the
04:07
Friday night session, what we end up doing is including two new sessions that we haven't done that will include social justice, and we include another speaker,
04:16
Anthony Silvestro, and if Anthony can't get there, Justin and I do the social justice because we've both talked about that.
04:24
Those are some things that are available for you, and what we'll do now is – and I don't know,
04:33
Justin, do you have any other announcements that you need to make? Anything going on with ministry? Anything going on with ministry?
04:40
No, I'm working on a book right now. I'm turning my Clouds Without Water seminar into a book.
04:47
I'm going to write two books. The first one is going to be a short book. It's going to be translated into Russian really soon, and I'm working on that right now.
04:56
I hope to have that finished in the next couple, three weeks, and then, Lord willing, later, since this will be a short book,
05:03
I'll put some more meat on the bones and make it into a longer book, a bit more comprehensive.
05:09
So turning Clouds Without Water into a book. That will be very helpful because one of the questions we were getting was resources, and so that'll be helpful.
05:19
Well, what we're going to do now is we will transition into going through the book of Jude, and so I'm going to let
05:29
Justin put him in the backstage, and this is now identifying false teachers.
05:36
What I'd like to do with y 'all is to go through the book of Jude, and Jude is this whole book we're going to cover because this book is going to help us to identify false teachers.
05:56
We're going to go through the book of Jude. Now, just have no fear. It only took me four months to preach through this in church, so I hope y 'all have your snacks, your coffee, your pillows.
06:06
You're all ready, but we're going to do it in less time than that. We're going to look at 28 traits of a false teacher.
06:15
Now, Justin can do these things with eight and five points. I'm doing 28, so we're going to be here a little bit, but let's talk about false teachers.
06:25
Maybe you can identify some of the people here. There's a number of false teachers, and that number continues to grow.
06:33
We must have an understanding of how to identify these people.
06:38
Why? Because the Bible commands us to identify and mark false teachers.
06:45
In order to mark a false teacher, you first must know how to identify a false teacher.
06:51
Justin will often mention that every book of the New Testament except for one mentions false teacher.
06:58
Which one? I'll get to that in a bit. Let's start by the fact that what
07:04
Jude says in Jude, the first two verses, Jude's introducing himself.
07:09
Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and the brother of James, to those who are called, beloved in God the
07:16
Father and kept in Jesus Christ, may mercy, peace, and love multiply to you.
07:22
Then he gets into the meat of his letter in verse three. He says, beloved, although I was eager to write to you about our common salvation,
07:32
I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
07:43
The issue is he desperately wanted to talk about the common salvation that they have, but he was pressured to ask them to contend for the faith.
07:53
That's when you end up seeing the Greek word there. It means to be pressured. It means that he felt the pressure that because he was worried about these false teachers, he felt there was an obligation that he had to put aside what he'd prefer to speak about.
08:08
And Justin and I share this as well. The two of us would love to sit here and spend this day with you talking about the common salvation we have.
08:17
We could talk about the glories of Christ, the riches that we could see in the person and nature of Jesus Christ, to talk about the glories of what it will be like to sit at his feet and to rejoice with him without sin.
08:32
That would be so wonderful to speak about. And yet, because these false teachers exist, we are pressured.
08:39
It is necessary for us to have to do this to teach people how to discern false teachers.
08:46
We don't want to be here warning about false teachers. Both Justin and I would prefer that we didn't have to do this at all, that there wouldn't be any false teachers and we wouldn't need to be doing these sort of seminars.
08:58
We'd much rather talk about that common faith. However, we too are pressured to do so.
09:04
And so let's begin. We're going to work our way through. And unfortunately, I didn't number each of these.
09:09
I probably should have, but this is the first of them. And I'll say it's the first and forget the rest of the numbers because I won't remember.
09:16
But I could give you the full 28 that we'll have in these slides.
09:21
But the first one we see in verse 4 is that they creep into the church unannounced. For certain men have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation.
09:35
Ungodly people. We'll get to the rest of that in a bit. So first thing we see is that they slip in stealthily.
09:41
That's what we see in this Greek, how they crept in unnoticed. It means that they slipped in stealthily.
09:47
Nobody wakes up and says, I want to be a false teacher today. No, they slowly are deceived or deceiving.
09:54
You have to remember something about false teachers. They are likable people. If they're not likable people, they don't get followers.
10:01
People follow the truth and they'll follow someone who stambers and stutters and just can't get words out.
10:07
They will follow someone like that if they're preaching the truth because that person is more interested in the truth.
10:13
But someone who's not likable is not going to get an audience if they're not teaching truth.
10:20
And that's the thing you have to recognize about false teachers. They are likable people. And because of that, they slip in stealthily.
10:28
They slip in and become something that where people just look at them and like, well, I like them.
10:34
You know, we already spoke about Francis Chan. Justin brought that up. Francis Chan, graduate from Master's Seminary, one of the best seminaries in the world that we know of.
10:45
Master's Seminary grad now promotes the Roman Catholic Church. We're going to show that. He's not only promoting
10:52
Benny Hinn and Todd White. He now promotes Roman Catholic doctrines.
10:58
We're going to see that in a little bit. What you end up seeing is why is it that people sit there and still defend him for a very simple reason.
11:05
They like him. Why is it that Francis Chan is promoting Benny Hinn and Todd White?
11:11
Well, he already says why. Because he likes them. He got to meet these people. He meets
11:16
Bill Johnson and likes him. But just because you like someone doesn't mean they're teaching truth.
11:22
And just because you like them doesn't mean you don't call them out. One of the things that I appreciate is men in my life who just because we're friends and they like me, that doesn't mean they won't call me out.
11:33
In fact, this is a known thing that I'd say all the time. But to get to be a board member at Striving for Eternity, there's two things you must do.
11:43
One, you have to have a heart for the ministry. But two, you have to have displayed a willingness to correct me.
11:50
In other words, we don't want people on our board that just say, well, I like Andrew. I don't want to say anything.
11:55
No, I take that so serious that I want people around me that will correct me. It's one of the things I love about Justin.
12:01
I know that if I step out of line, Justin is going to be one of the first people to call me up and let me know that.
12:09
I surround myself with people that are willing to confront me because I want to be more like Christ and I need that.
12:14
Maybe some of you guys don't need as much as I need, but I need a lot of it. And so that's the thing is what you see is these people are likable.
12:23
That's how they slip in. You have the Beth Moores. Beth Moore used to be a conservative. Now she hangs out with Word of Faith.
12:29
She's talking about dreams all the time. You already saw that in Justin's earlier talk this morning where Justin's showing the clips where she is no longer wanting to say the word of God is enough for her.
12:39
We're going to see that even more in this session. But you have guys like Andy Stanley.
12:45
Andy Stanley, who used his father's name and who started out as Southern Baptist conservative, he now denies the word of God.
12:53
Andy Stanley now says, well, we need to set apart the Old Testament. We need to unhitch the
12:59
Old Testament from the New Testament. One of the things Andy Stanley doesn't like about the parts of the
13:05
Old Testament is that it talks about things like slavery. He doesn't like that very much.
13:10
He doesn't like some of the things that are mentioned in the Old Testament. So he wants to unhitch the Old and the New. Well, Justin has mentioned many times that every book of the
13:19
Bible, every book of the Bible, sorry, every book of New Testament warns against false teaching except for one.
13:24
Well, you want to know something? Every New Testament book also refers back to the
13:30
Old Testament except for one. And it's the same one, Philemon. What is the topic of Philemon?
13:37
Slavery. Oops. There goes Andy Stanley. He's got nothing left. If he unhitches the
13:42
Old Testament from the New, he has to remove every book of the New except for Philemon, which is the one he won't like because it talks about slavery.
13:51
So he's got nothing left. Okay. Now, here's the thing I want you to notice.
13:57
As we look at this, it says, who long ago were designated for this condemnation. You recognize this.
14:03
These false teachers, they do not surprise God. God is not surprised by these false teachers.
14:11
He knew these false teachers would be teaching what they do and long ago designated them for condemnation.
14:18
Now, it's interesting because in the Greek air, the word designated and condemnation are definitive articles.
14:25
So that is that they long ago that who were long ago were the designated for the condemnation.
14:34
And so what we see right off the bat is the fact that they creep in unnoticed.
14:41
That is important to recognize because God, through Jude, is letting us know that this is something that we should expect to see, that there will be people that try to sneak into the church and end up teaching things that are, well, ungodly, as we see in both verse 4 and verse 15.
15:04
And we see here in this ungodly, we see here that they do not seek the things of God.
15:11
They're always going, false teachers seek selfishness. They seek self and to please self over pleasing
15:19
God. Justin already brought that out. You're going to see a lot of overlap here because there's nothing new under the sun with these false teachers.
15:27
Many of these false teachers keep to an inner circle of people. What you're going to see with false teachers is they don't want to have general, a regular contact with the congregation.
15:38
They want to have us close themselves off to the people, to the majority of the congregation.
15:44
And that way they can end up having just the few who they trust and know them. They limit themselves to those few that already know the pattern of life and have no issue with it.
15:55
Those that have issue with it usually get, they get rid of them, but they're ungodly. They pervert the grace of God with sensuality.
16:04
We see that in verse 4 as well. So not only were they designated for condemnation, but they are ungodly people who pervert the grace of God into sensuality.
16:14
We see this, that the word sensuality has the idea of an extreme immorality.
16:21
Not just a small immorality, not something with just having a straying eye or something.
16:27
No, they go to the extreme. And what they do is they take the grace of God and they pervert it into sensuality.
16:36
You can see this throughout. You could look at men like Joseph Smith, who used his claiming to be a prophet and speaking for God, so that he could end up having relations, supposedly having multiple marriages.
16:49
And he would marry not only women who are already married. He'll marry sisters, even if both of them are married to other people.
16:57
He would even marry children. And so you have serious issues with people that take the grace of God and they pervert it for sensuality.
17:06
There's two major issues that you're going to see with false teachers, and you're going to see this repeated throughout this talk as you saw it in the last talk, is sensuality and authority.
17:17
That's two areas false teachers have a consistent problem with. I had a couple that once came to me asking, they were getting ready to get married, and they asked me a question.
17:27
They wanted to know, how far can we go before we get married without sinning?
17:33
How far physically can we go? And my answer to them was, you already went too far.
17:38
In other words, the fact that you're asking that question, how far can we go? How close to the line can we come before it's sin?
17:45
Well, asking that question exposes a desire for sensuality that's unhealthy. And the problem with false teachers is they don't just have that desire.
17:54
They push the limits of it. That's the idea here. They're pushing it to see how far they go. How far are they going to go?
18:00
They're going to go to the point where they deny Jesus Christ. You end up seeing that in verse 4.
18:06
And they deny our only master and Lord, Jesus Christ. They end up denying
18:12
God. This has the meaning that they disown or disregard
18:18
God. They profess to be God's servants the whole time.
18:24
While they're denying the very teachings, they're denying him in their very teachings and their practice.
18:30
They only give lip service to God. Justin already mentioned that. You end up seeing, what are they known for?
18:36
They're not known for their godliness. They're not known for their teaching about God or their teaching about the
18:42
Bible. They're known for teaching about themselves. They teach things that will cause people to stray from God.
18:50
They may hold up a Bible or use it to read from.
18:56
Joel Holstein, every week, he's going to hold up a Bible before service. And he's going to refer to the
19:03
Bible in the beginning of service. And that's the last time in the rest of the service that he's going to use the
19:08
Bible. Everything they teach is to pull you away from the Bible, is to pull you away from God and to get you into their ministry.
19:17
Why? Because they want you to put your money into their pockets. That's where it goes. Their goal is not to help you be more like Christ.
19:26
Their goal is that you would be more like their father, the devil.
19:31
Don't believe me? Well, let's listen to Todd White deny the eternal deity of Jesus Christ.
19:38
And he's even going to say that people who are challenging him and they're just wrong.
19:45
And Jesus was tempted at all points. That scripture alone verifies that when he was here, he walked this out as a man.
19:54
People have taken that doctrine that I just said to you, twisted it on YouTube and said that Todd White take the deity away from Jesus.
20:01
No, what you've done is you've taken what Jesus said he was away from the
20:07
Bible. See, if Jesus didn't do what he did as a man, there's nothing for us to model.
20:13
There's no model for us. And then we're always left with, well, that was Jesus. No, Jesus was tempted at all points.
20:21
He was tempted at points that none of us have ever been tempted at. He was tempted at all points for everyone in every area.
20:27
All of it. Jesus was. And he sinned not. He never, ever, ever, ever gave a license to his flesh to sin.
20:40
Guys, are you hearing me? When it comes to the miraculous, if you don't understand this, then you can't pray for the sick.
20:48
Why? Because that was Jesus. I'm not Jesus. No, Jesus never healed the sick as God.
20:54
Jesus healed the sick as a man in perfect relationship with God.
21:01
Jesus was here. The Holy Spirit comes down upon Jesus, rests it upon him, and remained.
21:08
And when Jesus healed the sick, it was God through Jesus. Jesus said several times. He said, you know, if you don't believe me through the things that I say, at least believe me through the works that I do.
21:18
For it's the Father who dwells in me that does the works. Notice what he does there.
21:26
He's denying the deity of Christ. He is saying that there's not two natures in one being.
21:33
No. Or in one person. What he's saying is that he's arguing here that the
21:39
Father is separate from the Son from the Spirit. And that Jesus isn't doing anything on his own.
21:45
He's doing it because the Father's doing it through the Holy Spirit on him. And what's he arguing? That he's doing it as a man.
21:51
And as a man, do you hear what he's saying with this? He's denying not only Christ but going to the extent of saying that this is insane to think about.
22:03
That this man, Todd White, could be sinlessly perfect the way that Jesus is sinlessly perfect.
22:12
Now, he's going to argue for his sinless perfectionism. You've already seen that this man goes on the streets deceiving people.
22:18
We're going to see more of him later. But this is not a perfect man. All right? And so what do you see?
22:24
You see that they deny the deity of Christ. Verse 5. We see that they do not believe
22:30
God is capable of doing what he promises. It says in verse 5, Now, I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that God who saved a people out of the land of Egypt afterwards destroyed those who did not believe.
22:51
So, notice, who saved Israel out of Egypt? Jesus did.
22:56
So, who saved Egypt in the Old Testament, by the way? Yeah, God. So, interesting.
23:02
The very next verse, after saying that they deny the deity of Christ, the very next verse says that Jesus, who is
23:09
God referred to in the Old Testament, saved Israel out of Egypt. In case people don't know that Jesus was
23:16
God, there it is in the very next verse from where he says they deny the deity of Christ. So, Jesus did this.
23:23
He is the one that brought them out. For those who want to say that Jesus isn't
23:29
God, you could find this everywhere in the Gospels, everywhere in Scripture. It is there.
23:35
So, Jesus is credited for what God did in the Old Testament, and those who did not believe were the ones in verse 5 here that are going to be destroyed.
23:45
They did not believe God was capable of doing these things. So, you have these Jewish people, and just put yourself in the mindset here.
23:53
You come up to a sea. God just says, okay, let me just part the water, and you're going to walk on dry ground.
24:00
Okay, let's get millions of people across. You get across. You get there. You see the
24:05
Egyptians. They're coming in the water. They're chasing you on their chariots, and they're going like, hey, how's this water standing up here?
24:12
Wow. Okay, and then what does God do? Closes the water, and they're gone. Enemy disappeared. They have no food.
24:18
God is raining down bread from heaven, and sitting there, the bread's coming down. And what are they doing?
24:24
They're complaining they don't have enough meat. They don't believe God can do this. They see the promised land, and they don't believe
24:30
God is going to be able to take them into the promised land and be able to protect them.
24:37
Are you kidding me? Did you not see all the miracles that he's done? This is what it is. This is the reference that Jude is making.
24:45
These faith healers have similar claims. They claim that they can heal. Well, you know what? I trust absolutely no faith healer that says he has an ability to heal, and there's a local hospital filled in his neighborhood.
24:57
He doesn't believe himself that God is capable of doing what he claims that God is capable of doing because he doesn't go to that hospital and empty it out.
25:07
It exposes that they do not believe in what they claim
25:12
God's promises are, let alone the promises God actually says. You know, one of the things you can notice, and I meant to put this picture in here, but I just noticed it's not in.
25:22
You never want to trust a faith healer that wears eyeglasses. I have a picture of Jesse Duplantis and his wife.
25:29
They're reading the Bible. Both of them needed to put their glasses on to read. Never trust a faith healer that needs eyeglasses, okay?
25:39
So I want you to note that Jude states that it was Jesus who saved the
25:45
Israelites out of Egypt. Furthermore, Jude mentions that they fully knew it.
25:52
Thus, in the first century, it was known that it was Jesus who must be
25:57
God that brought Israelites out of Egypt. It says that they fully knew it.
26:03
So we go on and we see the next one, and we see here that they seek a position of authority.
26:11
You see in verse six, and the angels who did not stay in their own position of authority but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the day of judgment.
26:28
The angels who did not stay in their own position of authority. This is interesting, as Jude expects them to understand the historical account.
26:42
Now, many scholars, modern scholars, struggle with reference. But the interesting thing is that Jude is referring to something that was understood in Judaism.
26:52
And so because of the fact that, as we see here in verse six, that he is referring to something that they understand with these angels, then we would assume that Jude is confirming the teaching that we would see in Judaism, that these angels are angels that refer back to Genesis chapter six, when it says the sons of God had relations with the daughters of men.
27:17
We don't fully understand that, but that is what was taught. And it seems that Jude is using that as an illustration of these angels that didn't keep their proper abode.
27:28
And so some will think that this is referring to angels leaving heaven and coming to earth.
27:35
And some will think that this is referring to Genesis chapter six, where you have them leaving their abode and trying to do things with men in some way, whether they're possessing human beings or not, we're not quite sure.
27:47
But these angels were seeking a position that was not theirs to have. And false teachers do the same thing.
27:55
They seek a position of authority that's not theirs. They claim an authority that is
28:00
God's alone, and they claim it for themselves. They end up arguing and teaching, as you just saw a moment ago with Todd White, that they are little gods, that they could do everything
28:12
Jesus could do. They will teach that they have the position that God has. Now, if you read your
28:18
Bible carefully and you go back to Genesis chapter three, you're going to see that's exactly what Satan said to Eve.
28:24
That was the exact way he deceived her. So when you look at these false teachers, just know something. They're teaching the same doctrine that Satan taught to Eve.
28:33
Scary to think about it. But that you could be like God. We see it in Mormonism.
28:40
We see it in word of faith. We see it in NAR, New Apostolic Reformation. We see it multiple times where some person puts himself in a position where he has the authority.
28:51
We see this in the Roman Catholic Church and many other cults when they put themselves in a position where they say they alone have the authority to interpret
29:00
Scripture. When you set yourself up as the only authority that can interpret Scripture, you have just put yourself in authority above Scripture because the
29:11
Scripture is meaningless without your authority to interpret it. And so when a person or organization says that you need them for the interpretation of Scripture, they've just belittled the
29:21
Scriptures and raised themselves up. And that's what you get from these teachers. They're doing the very same thing.
29:27
They're setting themselves up. They're saying you should trust them with their interpretations.
29:32
And was already mentioned earlier in Justin's first talk, they will talk about their dreams to show that they're more spiritual than you.
29:39
You should trust them because they know what they're doing. That's going to be the argument they end up having.
29:45
And they have this argument because of the fact that they know they must deceive you to keep you following them.
29:55
They want an authority that's not theirs. They want God's authority. Ultimately, what they want is to dethrone
30:01
God and take his throne. No different than Satan wanted to do, just so you know who their father is.
30:08
The nice thing is Justin already named names, so I don't have to worry. You can all yell at him. And he's too nice of a guy.
30:15
No one will ever yell at him. Well, actually, no. They say things about him. They just don't yell at him. Verse 7, we see a series of things here.
30:24
First, they indulge in sexual immorality. In verse 7, you end up seeing it says, just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities likewise, they indulge in sexual immorality.
30:38
Sodom and Gomorrah is now an example. So you see that Jude is going through a lot of history with the
30:45
Israelites, things that the Israelites would know, things that they would be aware of. And he's turning to them and saying, you understand
30:52
Sodom and Gomorrah. This is an example he's using for teaching the many things they did in these towns around them, how wicked they were, how sinful they were.
31:00
And Jude uses them as an example of this false teaching. These towns were an example that caused an extreme judgment because of their homosexuality.
31:10
Their sexual perversion was so bad that God destroyed the cities in a supernatural way.
31:19
Just as Jude used these angels in a previous example, in an example of eternal punishment, so here we see the same eternal punishment for this sin.
31:29
The Greek word that we end up seeing here means to commit fornication. So this is the third time now that we have seen the issue of an eternal condemnation being mentioned.
31:40
This term that is used here for sexual immorality, it refers to one that is given over to homosexuality.
31:47
That's what this word refers to. And so as our culture is promoting homosexuality, you end up seeing people who are in solid churches.
31:57
It was already mentioned. Some of the questions that came in, we'll probably get to it in Q &A, was Matt Chandler. And people are saying, has
32:03
Matt Chandler gone bad? Well, Matt Chandler has gone what's called woke. If you understand social justice, you understand that.
32:09
But what is woke? Well, being woke is that you're woke to the injustices of people.
32:15
And here's the progression you end up seeing. People who want to fight for injustices, and then the first thing they're going to do is they're going to fight for women's rights, and they're going to say, we have to be egalitarian, not complementarian.
32:25
The difference there being complementarians believe that there's a complement between men and women. So there are certain roles that God has given to men that he hasn't given to women and women that he hasn't given to men.
32:35
Motherhood, men don't give birth, but men are to lead and teach in the churches.
32:41
That is a difference. Egalitarian says, no, it's all the same. Everyone's equal. I'm still waiting to watch the men give birth.
32:47
Yeah, I understand the women who call themselves men are claiming to give birth, but that's still a woman, okay, that's giving birth.
32:55
And so what do you see here? What they end up doing is after they go egalitarian, then they go the next step of promoting homosexuality.
33:01
We're seeing this over and over and over again. But this is even worse. These false teachers indulge in it.
33:08
They partake of it. Now, do they always partake in homosexuality? No, the word means commit fornication, but it does have the sense and it is used to refer, especially in the context with Sodom and Gomorrah, to homosexuality.
33:22
So what you end up seeing here is that they are perverse in their sexual immorality.
33:29
Not only that, but they pursue unnatural desires. Again, in verse seven, you see that.
33:35
It says that just as Sodom and Gomorrah and their surrounding cities, which likewise indulge in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desires, serve as an example by undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
33:50
This word unnatural desires is a reference to homosexuality.
33:56
Let's hear from TJ Jakes on him explaining his evolution on homosexuality.
34:03
A question coming in from Black 185 in our digital community said, do you think,
34:09
I'm assuming, the LGBT community and the black church can coexist? Absolutely. Let me push that question because that's sort of an obvious yes.
34:16
Church ain't turning nobody away. How should the black church and LGBT community exist? I think it's going to be diverse from church to church.
34:22
Every church has a different opinion on the issue and every gay person is different. And I think that to speak the church, the black church or white church or any kind of church you want to call it, are all the same is totally, totally not true.
34:35
And all gay people are not the same. The types of relationships that are afforded are based on the types of people in each individual case.
34:43
And LGBTs of all types and sorts have to find a household of worship that reflects what your views are and what you believe like anybody else.
34:53
And the church should have the right to have its own convictions and values. If you don't like those convictions and values, you totally disagree with it, don't try to change my house, move into your own and establish that sort of thing and find somebody who gets what you get about faith.
35:09
And trust me, I've talked to enough LGBT. They are not all the same. Oh, for sure. Anymore than all Christians are the same.
35:15
No, no. But how do we, first of all, is your thinking evolved on this? Evolved and evolving, evolved and evolving.
35:22
So he's evolved and evolving. Now this man calls himself a bishop. He says, hey, it's okay for us to do what we want in our house.
35:30
Just don't, you know, don't try to come into our house and change. And yet here's the thing. What are they doing?
35:36
Exactly that. He wants to say that churches can be accepting homosexuality.
35:42
You know what he's not doing? He's saying, what does God say? As you end up looking at the rest of that video, the guy interviewing kind of presses.
35:49
The guy from The Huffington Post is going to press him a bit. And he just keeps waffling. No, the reality is that the guy doing the interview understands better what the
35:58
Bible says than T .J. Jakes does because T .J. Jakes is not appealing to the Bible and what the
36:04
Bible says. He's appealing to the emotion of the person who practices homosexuality. He's more concerned with the person and what the person feels and thinks than he is with what
36:15
God feels and thinks. And that's why T .J. Jakes would be a false teacher because it's more about self.
36:21
He wants to feel better about these people and not ruffle their feathers. But the reality is when they come in and want to change the word of God, they are coming into our house.
36:29
And men like T .J. Jakes says, hey, just stay out of our house. You go to the house that accepts you. Well, the reality is they're in the house when you teach these sort of things.
36:38
They end up having these kind of things. And people like this are going to go soft on this.
36:43
And you're hearing he's evolved and evolving. Why? Because he's working it out.
36:50
But people like this often work it out and then end up getting into it. Let's talk about this.
36:55
We talked about this a little bit. But in verse 8, they rely on their dreams. It says, yet in like manner these people also relying on their dreams.
37:04
Their dreams are more authoritative than Scripture in their lives. You see this over and over again.
37:11
Justin already dealt with this when he talked about the sufficiency of Scriptures. They don't think the Scriptures are sufficient.
37:16
They think they need something more. Not only does God judge evil angels and the wicked people of Sodom and Gomorrah, but Jude includes people who in like manner to this.
37:32
What is the like manner of these people? Well, Jude describes them as relying on their dreams, defiling the flesh, rejecting authority, and blaspheming
37:41
God's glory. Many false teachers appeal to a dream. Why? They're going to appeal to a dream because, as Justin said, it makes them seem more spiritual.
37:50
Because you are not having the dreams they're having. You're not having this constant revelation from God, constant dreams.
37:58
It makes you feel that they're in a better, more special position. They're more spiritual than you.
38:04
That puts them in a position of authority. That's why they all claim to have these dreams. They want to claim that they have something, a more close relationship with God, a more spiritual relationship than you do.
38:14
And the person in the pew is left with that feeling that the false teacher is more special, is more a child of God than they are.
38:22
Because they don't have those sort of dreams. It's the purpose that they do it is to make the person in the pew feel that the false teacher is more spiritual and has a more special relationship with God than you do.
38:36
And let's start with, well, Beth Moore. This is Beth Moore explaining her understanding of a dream that she had about Stephen Chapman's daughter.
38:47
What I'm about to explain to you is one reason amid a thousand that I love
38:53
Jesus Christ. Okay, remember, and this one's one I'm going to chop up. It's a longer one, so we're going to chop it up and talk.
39:00
This is what, what did she just say? This is why she loves Jesus Christ. Not because of scripture.
39:06
She's going to, she's going to belittle that in a bit. She loves it because of a dream. Watch this. Whoops, helps if I click the right one.
39:12
What I'm about to explain to you is one reason amid a thousand that I love
39:18
Jesus Christ so much for. I mean, this is the kind of thing that just blows my mind about him.
39:25
Okay, now I'm stopping this for a reason. I want you to watch where her eyes are. I'm going to teach you guys a little bit of a trick when, what law enforcement, people that are trained to detect lies will do.
39:38
All of us have certain micro expressions we do. We don't even recognize we do them. And people all over the world, there's been people who've done studies all over the world that there's certain things people do that you can detect a lie in most people, unless they're trained how to prevent it.
39:54
Now, I want you to notice she's looking, she's going to look up and to her right, not up and to her left.
40:01
I'm making a distinction there. Why? When someone looks up into their right, they're making up a story where when they look up into their left, they're recalling an event.
40:12
Which way does she look? Months back, I was sleeping regular all night.
40:21
And I need you to know something. In all of these 53 years of living, I just never have had a meaningful dream. And it's not been because I haven't asked for them.
40:29
No, do we have a scripture that says we should be asking for dreams? She's asking for them. There's some scriptures say we shouldn't.
40:36
Why does it keep switching? Sorry about that. Close my mind about him. A number of months back,
40:42
I was sleeping regular all night.
40:48
And I need you to know something. In all of these 53 years of living, I just never have had a meaningful dream. And it's not been because I haven't asked for them.
40:55
If there is a manifestation of God or the Spirit, I've somewhere asked for it. I mean,
41:00
I'm just going, I will. I will. And most of the time he goes, you know what? Some people are safer with the word on the page.
41:07
Do you see how she belittles the word on the page? And everyone's laughing. Like the very words of Almighty God are not enough for Beth Moore.
41:18
She needs more than that. Nope. I got to stop. I got to click on this. Sorry about that.
41:26
And it's not been because I haven't asked for them. If there is a manifestation of God or the
41:31
Spirit, I've somewhere asked for it. I mean, I'm just going, I will. I will. And most of the time he goes, you know what?
41:37
Some people are safer with the word on the page. And so he just, I'll tell you what we're going to do with you.
41:43
We're not going to lose a dream on you. So what you end up seeing is that God is not going to waste a dream on someone that believes in the sufficiency of Scripture.
41:54
So she's something special because she has something, she believes in more than just the sufficiency of Scripture. And I saw
42:00
Mary Beth Chapman in my dream. And it was the oddest thing because I was in an arena, the likes of which
42:06
I've spoken in many, many times through Living Proof Live. It was a large arena. And the back of the stage was like everyone
42:15
I've so often seen, all these heavy cords, all the gaff tape down on it, all the sound tables, all the machinery that it takes, all the lighting.
42:24
Notice all the detail she has in her dream. I can see in my dream all of their, you know, their headsets on so they can talk to one another.
42:32
A scene that I have seen more times than I can possibly count. Now why does she do that? That's to help people to show that she's, what she's trying to do is show that she is, can relate to this, right?
42:42
To this dream. Well, edge of one of the tables watching everything. And I was in my dream.
42:48
I see Mary Beth and Maria walk up in the dream. For the context, for those who don't know, this is, this is
42:56
Mary Beth and Maria. Maria was a child who died. Mary Beth is the mother and wife of Stephen Curtis Chapman.
43:04
What Maria had on in the dream comes up with Mary Beth. Maria is right to her side, right about that five years old, kind of has on a big white collar.
43:13
Those chunky bangs are down on her face. And she just kicking around and laughing and they come to talk to Mary Beth.
43:20
And even a guy that I work with all the time was talking to her. And I could tell that she was the one about to speak.
43:26
And Maria was just like twisting her almost into a pretzel right there. And I was beholding this whole thing and thinking how
43:32
I could not wait to hear it. And boom, I awakened. And I mean, in that moment, my eyes popped open like this.
43:40
I'm holding the covers up like this. And I thought, Whoa, I knew it meant something. Yeah, I would say,
43:46
Whoa, too, if you're interpreting the dream and thinking that it has anything more than, as Justin said earlier, it's a dream.
43:52
That's all it was. She was thinking of her friend. She had a dream of her friend. Is it anything more than that?
43:58
Scripture doesn't tell us it is. But the point is going to be this. Here's how you could tell a false teacher because she's going to show how her dream that she's going to say was a prophecy was false.
44:10
I knew that it did. I thought that I even maybe knew what it was. I thought that maybe it was
44:16
God showing me in a dream that part of the Chapman's healing and specifically
44:22
Mary Beth Chapman's healing would be that she would minister hope through what she had been through and that people would be able to see how it had turned back on the enemy and glory had come to God and good had come to mankind.
44:37
So where does she say this? This glory is going to come to God. It's it is not from the word of God.
44:42
It's from a dream. And I felt like somehow her healing is going to come in part through her pouring it out.
44:49
Now, you need to know something. Mary Beth was not speaking at this time. This is not her thing.
44:55
It's not her husband was the one out front. It was not her. So this was very out of the box, but I just was certain of it.
45:02
And I didn't think that that somehow Maria was some kind of ghost next to Mary Beth.
45:11
I knew that Maria was in heaven. I knew that the symbol of her in the dream was that in telling that story and in telling the redemption and healing
45:21
God brought that there would be healing to her soul and that their joyous memory.
45:26
Now you think about this by what verse of the Bible says that she's going to get healing through a dream. We know we get healing through the word of God and through God himself and the personal
45:36
Holy Spirit, but a dream. What verse is that? It's about Maria would be restored and they would overtake the ones of such tragedy and such just a violent kind of injury.
45:48
And so I was like, whoa, notice how she keeps saying, whoa, she does this because this is drawing people in emotionally.
45:55
That's what she's looking to do. So she's going to talk about this story, what she's going to do with it.
46:03
Well, a couple of days later, it was Mary Beth Chapman's birthday. And so I thought, I'm going to text her.
46:08
I was at an event and I knew she had a big thing that weekend too, but I texted her.
46:13
I said, happy birthday, my friend. And I said, listen, I was really nervous. Even when I texted, I said,
46:19
I had a dream and I don't have dreams. And I just want to ask you if it has any.
46:26
Now, this must be one of the earlier ones because she's had plenty of dreams since this time, by the way, just for the record.
46:31
Significance to you. And if it's not a confirmation, because I don't, I don't think God works that way. I think he just tells it to somebody.
46:37
No, no. Here's the thing to notice. Notice how she says, I don't think God works this way. But have you noticed how everything she's leading up to is the fact that God does this work this way in her mind.
46:46
She asks for these dreams. She asks for these things to happen. So she has expectation of them.
46:53
And then she says, I don't think God works this way. Now saying, I don't think God works this way is just a way of saying she has plausible deniability when people like me will challenge her on these things.
47:03
But her dream is going to actually be a false prophecy. I think it comes as a confirmation.
47:09
I said, if it's confirmation, great. If it's not, dump it. Don't trust it. So she writes me back. She said, that is a very.
47:14
And so where did she think the confirmation would come? It's going to come from Mary Beth, not from the word of God. Notice that that's what they do with these dreams.
47:22
When are you going to call me? I said, well, I'll call you after I get home. Okay. I call her and I'm nervous. I'm nervous because I said, okay, let me tell you this.
47:31
And so I went through the whole dream, every detail of it. And then dead silence.
47:36
I said, well, now I don't know for sure what it means, but I thought maybe it meant. And I began to sit dead silence.
47:43
Okay. So she interpreted the dream. She wanted confirmation. She's given the interpretation. I mean, the perspiration is breaking out on my, on my face.
47:51
I think, okay. You see now when you recognize son, do you see how she's a likable person? She is trying to use all of the emotionalism, all of the things to, to build up to the climax.
48:01
And she takes a long time to build up the climax, but she does that for emotional reasons. They can't just teach the truth.
48:08
They have to build up to it. Okay. Suddenly she begins to sob, sob.
48:14
And when she starts sobbing. Now I want you to, oh, I can't believe I clicked that again. What I want you to do is notice if I can get back to that spot.
48:22
I want you to notice what Mary, Mary Beth Chapman. I went through the whole dream. What she ends up claiming is the confirmation.
48:32
She said a few nights ago, y 'all stay with me here. A few nights ago, they were with a pastor friend of theirs.
48:39
And she said she just was having a bad day. Y 'all seeing the chills coming up on my arms. And she said she had talked to Steven Curtis and she told her husband,
48:47
I just want to dream about her. I just want to see her in a dream. Okay. So, so here's what you end up having.
48:54
Mary Beth has wants to dream about her daughter. Did she have the dream? This is supposedly
49:00
Beth Moore's confirmation that Beth Moore had the dream for her. Well, then that isn't the same thing, right?
49:07
If she wanted to dream about her daughter, she wouldn't give, then it's not confirmation when someone else dreams about her because she wants to see her.
49:15
Here's another person that has dreams. And that's Kenneth Copeland. He had a prophecy on March 19th of 2020 about the end of COVID -19.
49:27
We're done with it, folks. We don't have any more COVID because he had a dream. Friday night at 924.
49:35
And suddenly the word of the Lord came to me. So I jumped up and got my notepad and wrote it down.
49:44
924. This disease called CODV -19 will be over much sooner than you think.
49:55
Christian people all over this country praying have overwhelmed it.
50:04
Give me all the glory, saith the spirit of grace. And many, many people will come to know me through it.
50:14
I'm still Lord over this nation. I'm on the throne and faith in me changes things.
50:24
Glory to God. Aren't you glad to know that COVID -19 two months later is gone?
50:30
It's gone and we don't have any more COVID -19. Oh, wait. It's still here. So what we end up seeing is that they defile the flesh.
50:40
They defile the flesh. What we end up seeing here is that this in verse 8, it says that they defile the flesh.
50:50
It is that they seek to satisfy fleshly desires, usually referring to sexual sins but not always.
50:57
Justin already covered that. They reject authority. They reject authority. God's word is the authority.
51:04
They reject it with their dreams. They reject it with themselves. They reject God's authority.
51:09
They defile the word of God and they do not like the scriptures because the scriptures judge their sin.
51:15
And so they twist the scriptures and they defile the scriptures to try to change its meaning to be what they wish it said rather than what it does say.
51:23
Because what the scriptures do say is a judgment on them. So they just reject it.
51:28
They look to their dreams rather than the word of God. They do not like the word of God telling them what to do.
51:35
So they don't want to submit to that. So though they end up having followers, they want everyone to follow them and not the word of God.
51:45
These false teachers who claim that if you address them in public, you must go to them privately.
51:51
You'll hear this all the time. They say that, no, you're violating scripture. They have no problem addressing other people publicly, but you have to come to them alone.
52:01
So they'll give lip service to the authority of scripture. They just don't follow it themselves.
52:07
False teachers seek to protect self. They will blast anybody in order to protect themselves.
52:14
They're more concerned with themselves than they are about God. One way we see them, they reject authority.
52:20
It was just sent to me that I may have earlier said that the Master's Seminary promotes
52:27
Catholic Church. It doesn't. I meant Francis Chan promotes the Catholic Church, and here's the evidence of it. Listen to Francis Chan deny what he was taught at Master's Seminary and promote what the
52:38
Roman Catholic Church has taught. What is they teaching? They're teaching that the church has the authority, not the
52:45
Bible. Why did it not play? Let's get that back. I didn't know that for the first 1 ,500 years of church history, everyone saw it as the literal body and blood of Christ.
52:59
And it wasn't until 500 years ago that someone popularized a thought that it's just a symbol and nothing more.
53:06
I didn't know that. I thought, wow, well, that's something to consider. And while I won't make a strong statement,
53:14
I will make a statement about this. It was at that same time that for the first time someone put a pulpit in the front of the gathering because before that, it was always the body and blood of Christ that was central to their gatherings.
53:32
For 1 ,500 years, it was never one guy and his pulpit being the center of the church.
53:39
It was the body and blood of Christ. And even the leaders just saw themselves as partakers.
53:45
And, oh, man, we're not worthy. We're not worthy. We're not worthy. I say that because the church is more divided than any time in history.
53:55
What does this book tell us clearly? That he does not want any divisions in his church.
54:01
And for 1 ,000 years, there was just one church. Did you know that? We're so used to growing up in a time when literally there are over 30 ,000
54:10
Christian denominations right now. But for the first 1 ,000 years, it was just one. So, obviously, church history was a class he must have skipped.
54:19
Because, yes, there was one because the Catholic Church killed anyone that disagreed with them.
54:25
That was their policy. That doesn't make them right. He's appealing to the authority of the Catholic Church of saying there should be one church, that everyone had one view.
54:34
Well, actually, no, Francis, everyone didn't have that view. But what does he do? He's denying what the scripture says and supporting his, well, newfound friends.
54:45
What do we end up seeing? We see that they, in verses 8 to 10, they blaspheme what they do not understand.
54:57
They blaspheme what they do not understand. Verses 8 to 10, we end up seeing that it says,
55:04
In like manner these people were lying on their dreams, defiling the flesh, rejecting authority, blaspheming the glorious ones.
55:10
But when the archangel Michael contended with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, the
55:21
Lord rebuke you. But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasonably animals, understand instinctively.
55:35
They make blasphemous things out of things that they can't comprehend and don't even want to understand.
55:42
They blaspheme God and further their blasphemy by getting others to do the same when they don't have scripture on their side.
55:50
They blame others and say that no one can question them and claim that what they do is in the name of God.
55:58
So if they claim to heal you and you're not healed, it's not on them, it's on you.
56:04
We have one woman that's not far from where we are for our church.
56:10
She came out from Bethel. She used to work directly for Bill Johnson. She volunteered for him.
56:17
She had cancer. She ended up with a cancer that would have been treatable. But Bill Johnson, teaching her about living by faith, convinced her to stop doing surgery or doing the procedure that would have cured it.
56:30
She trusted God. The cancer spread. She left California to move to Pennsylvania so that she could die because the cancer was riddled throughout her body.
56:42
And who is it that Bill Johnson blames? Oh, no, not himself. No, no, no. That's all on her not having enough faith.
56:48
They play the victim when they're attacked from people who expose them.
56:53
They play the victim with Justin all the time. The truth, they'll say, is divisive. And it's true.
56:58
The truth is divisive. It divides truth from error. And so what they do is they do is to blaspheme
57:06
God over and over, as you already saw with Todd White. Tom, you're going to see him sit there and blaspheme
57:13
God and say that God does things that God's not doing. That's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. When you say to the work of the devil is the work of the
57:21
Spirit, that's what blasphemy of the Spirit would be. Not when you sit there and deny speaking in tongues or miracles of, you know, the gifts of miracles and the gift of healing.
57:32
That's not blasphemy, okay? But when you claim that you're doing something that's actually a work of the devil and you claim that to the
57:39
Spirit, I would say that is. They walk in the way of Cain, wanting God to accept them on their terms.
57:45
The way of Cain was wicked in the sense that he wanted God to accept his offering.
57:51
Not the way God determined, but the way that Cain determined. God had set a way he wanted offerings.
57:58
Cain didn't like that. Cain wanted his offerings to be accepted his way. These men follow
58:04
Cain's ungodly ways, that they want God to accept them on their terms, that they have their own agendas.
58:10
And they don't want to bow down to God. They want God to bow down to them. They have an overemphasized view of self, and they reduce
58:18
God. We see that they abandon themselves for the sake of gain. This is
58:23
Balaam's error in verse 11, where it says, Woe to them, for they've walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain.
58:32
To Balaam's error, and they perish in Korah's rebellion. What was Balaam's error? Balaam was someone you can read in Numbers 22 to 25.
58:39
Now, if you read Numbers 22 to 24, it seems like Balaam is a very good person. He's not willing to blaspheme against God and curse the
58:49
Israelites. But when we look in Numbers 25, we see that there's counsel given that Balak ends up wanting to destroy the
58:59
Israelites, comes up with a plan of taking the women, bringing them into the Israelites, and having the men marry these women, and that God would bring a curse.
59:08
Well, Numbers 31, 8 to 16 shows that that was actually Balaam's counsel.
59:14
And so why did he do it? Because he wanted money. He was offered a lot of money, and when he wouldn't curse God, God's people, what ended up happening was
59:22
Balak said, Well, we're going to get rid of you, Balaam. And so how do I get my money? I want to keep the money.
59:28
He came up with a way that he thought might be a workaround, that he himself wouldn't directly curse the
59:35
Israelites and break God's word, but he could keep the money and give them away that God would bring judgment on them.
59:41
And so Jude refers to them in that same manner, being like that. Here's Todd White doing the very same thing as he promotes the prosperity gospel.
59:49
People call prosperity some kind of twisted doctrine. God wants you to be in good health, and he wants you to prosper.
59:57
He wants your soul to prosper. He wants the prosperous soul to hit you so much.
01:00:04
See, because when you have a prosperous soul, money doesn't matter to you. The more you have, the more you give.
01:00:12
I promise you, the more God gives you, the more you funnel, and you just become a giver, and you give, and you give, and you give, and you give.
01:00:22
Why? Because God so loved the world that he gave. So that's what we as Christians do.
01:00:28
We give. We give. We give. People are like, Well, you're just after money.
01:00:34
No, God's not after you. He's after you ever being had by money.
01:00:39
Money doesn't make the world go round. Jesus does. Do you know when you become a radical giver, and you become just a radical tither, and a radical offerer, and a person that just blesses people, you actually step into the
01:00:54
Abramic blessing? The devil doesn't ever want you to get a revelation of finances, ever.
01:01:01
Because if he does, he loses control of you. Okay, so notice the thing, though. What do you see with these faith healers?
01:01:06
They got lots of money stored up. They got their private jets and all that. They're not giving, are they? Oh, it's promote giving to people who give to them, because they want the money.
01:01:17
But they sound spiritual. The money doesn't make the world go round. Jesus does. That sounds spiritual, doesn't it?
01:01:23
But you don't see him giving. He's not living on a modest means.
01:01:28
No, all these guys live it up. Why? Because they want money for themselves. You end up seeing this with Korah's rebellion.
01:01:37
They're seeking to overthrow for the purpose of gain of power for self.
01:01:44
And that's what you end up seeing over and over again. Korah's rebellion was that he ended up wanting to rebel against Moses.
01:01:50
He didn't want Moses, his cousin, to be running the congregation. He wanted to run the congregation. And so what his desire was is that his purpose was out of selfishness.
01:01:59
He wanted to rule over Moses. And God judged him for that. The purpose of this was for selfish gain.
01:02:08
And ungodly people have that. This was no different in the first century church. Here's a clip of Kenneth Copeland.
01:02:16
COVID -19. It was done March 30th. Now this was only a couple weeks after he got the revelation that it would be over.
01:02:23
So here he is declaring as an apostle. Notice how he claims an authority that's not his own.
01:02:29
But I want you to notice how he ends up arguing that it's done. And he's doing it in an authority that he's claiming from God.
01:02:37
We'll exercise judgment right now. In the name of Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Standing in the office of the prophet of God, I execute judgment on you,
01:02:51
COVID -19. I execute judgment on you, Satan. You destroyer.
01:02:57
You killer. You get out. You break your power. You get off this nation.
01:03:03
I demand judgment on you. I demand. I demand. I demand a vaccination to come immediately.
01:03:18
All you done. I call you gone. You come down from your place of authority, destroyer.
01:03:30
You come down and you crawl on your belly. Like God commanded you when he put his foot on your head in the garden of Eden.
01:03:44
You will destroy through COVID -19. No more. No more.
01:03:49
No more. No more. It is finished.
01:03:55
It is over. And the
01:04:02
United States of America is healed. And well. Thank you.
01:04:08
Again. Praise. Sayeth. The mighty. Hallelujah. Glory. Peace.
01:04:14
Who is also the prince of war. So who did he just say? Jesus Christ.
01:04:20
He just said that the God of peace, Jesus Christ, just by his statement. It's over.
01:04:26
Aren't you glad to know that COVID -19 it's over vaccine immediately. These people just.
01:04:33
Just say whatever they want for their selfish gain and they want money. I don't know why that keeps playing it back.
01:04:40
Okay. They, they fear verse 12. They do not fear. You see this in verse 12.
01:04:46
These are hidden reefs at your love feasts as they feast. With you without fear.
01:04:53
They do not fear God. You see that as he can, he can say that he speaks for God and he's got no fear of God.
01:05:00
When he could say things like this, they don't fear God. They use God to deceive people and take advantage of people for their own gain.
01:05:08
A man like Todd Bentley that would stand on stage and claim that he does the work for God while being drunk.
01:05:14
He has no fear of God. They feed themselves in verse 12 shepherds feeding themselves.
01:05:20
They call themselves shepherds, but instead of feeding the flock, they want to feed themselves with the money from the flock.
01:05:27
Justin and I were in the Philippines. There was a Filipino pastor, Oriol Balalo, who says this quote, others say the
01:05:34
Bible mothers say in the Bible, the love of money is the root of all evil.
01:05:39
This is, this is different. The lack of money is the root of all evil. Seriously, ask your wives, try to live without money and you'll see the devil will come out in the flesh as your wife.
01:05:51
Unquote. This is what they teach. This is a man who, who says life is too short. So drive a nice car as he has a picture of himself with two
01:05:58
Lamborghinis, the Philippines. The thing we understand is where he is. People have a much less of a, of a living than we do here in the
01:06:07
United States. It's it's everything costs much more and he can sit there on the backs of the poor and make statements like that.
01:06:14
They are spiritually useless. We see this also in verse 11, verse 12. It says that they're, they're waterless clouds swept along by winds, fruitless trees in autumn, twice dead uprooted.
01:06:28
They are spiritually useless. These false teachers are useless. They are like waterless clouds or to quote some other seminar clouds without water.
01:06:39
They state a Jude states that these false teachers, though they claim to be shepherds, they're feeding themselves and they are, they're useless to people.
01:06:47
They're like a cloud that offers no rain. You see in verse 16, they're grumblers. They complain when they don't get their way.
01:06:54
Anytime you, you confront them, they grumble. They're, they're going to be grumblers, malcontents, which is they complain about their lot in life as they live it up.
01:07:04
They're, they're not happy when things aren't going their way, when they're not getting more. They're, excuse me, they follow their own sinful desires.
01:07:13
They don't follow the Bible. They follow their desires and their loud mouth boasters. They, they boast of their own works, not the works of God.
01:07:22
You see Paul boasting about what Christ did, but you don't see that with these false teachers. They boast about their own works.
01:07:28
They're not boasting about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the death, burial, resurrection, the glories of God.
01:07:34
No, they're boasting about what God has done for them. Instead, they're boasting about God.
01:07:41
They boast about self. Now watch Kenneth Copeland brag about his ministry as he's going to be complaining.
01:07:49
He's going to do all that we just said. He's going to be grumbling. He's going to show his malcontent.
01:07:54
He's going to show that he's a loud mouth boaster. A lot of people think it's unbecoming for a preacher to live a life of luxury and to fly around in private jets.
01:08:03
What's your response to that? Very simple. It takes a lot of money to do what we do.
01:08:10
We have brought over a hundred. Let's see this. The latest figures just came out, uh, 122 million people to the
01:08:19
Lord Jesus Christ. Let me give you another example. Last May I was scheduled for Lagos, Nigeria.
01:08:29
That's a long ways. I had a week off and I was scheduled for Peru and I prayed about it and I thought,
01:08:37
I'm not missing that dedication in Jerusalem. We flew in 21 days, 70 hours, 40 ,000 miles, touched five continents and preached face to face personally with 125 ,000 people.
01:09:00
Sounds pretty impressive. But he didn't save anybody as he claims God does the saving.
01:09:06
And so that's where he misses the mark. But you notice how they, they, they boast about their own efforts and don't give the credit to God.
01:09:14
Verse 16, you end up seeing, it says these grumblers, malcontents who follow their own sinful desires.
01:09:19
They're loud mouth posters showing favoritism to gain advantage. The, they show favoritism to people.
01:09:26
They, they, you'll see this with false teachers. They want to look for people with money and they're going to play it up to those people because they're going to want the people with money in position.
01:09:35
They want those people with money in position to enrich them. So they're going to show favoritism to gain an advantage over those sort of people.
01:09:43
They're scoffers. The false teachers, they mock God. You see this in verse 18, they, they say to you in the last days will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions and that they're going to cause divisions.
01:10:01
Okay. This is very interesting. They, they, they seek to, they seek to divide biblical churches and they blame others for division.
01:10:09
You know, I'll tell you this, Justin kind of referred to it. You want a great example is just mentioned something about Beth Moore, put something out about Beth Moore and you're going to see that her followers, boy, are they vicious.
01:10:21
They will come out with after you with knives and daggers. If you dare mention that Beth Moore endorses false teachers, which she does or mentioned that she is a false teacher, which she is, then her followers are going to come out after you with a vengeance because they are the ones that are divisive.
01:10:40
They're, they're viciously divisive. We're divisive in the sense that we're wanting to divide truth from error.
01:10:46
It's not about the person. We're not attacking the person, but the teachings they want to attack the person.
01:10:53
They're worldly people. They want everything that the world has to offer and they want it now.
01:10:59
Listen to this in this interview of Kenneth Copeland, explaining his need for private jets.
01:11:04
Why have you said that you won't fly commercial? You said that it's like getting into a tube with a bunch of demons.
01:11:10
Why do you think that? No, listen to me, just saying not the people.
01:11:15
The main reason is because of the need. If I flew commercial,
01:11:23
I'd have to stop 65 % of what I'm doing. That's really the main. Isn't it true that you want to fly commercial so that you can fly in luxury?
01:11:31
How much money did you pay for Tyler Perry's Gulfstream jet? For example? Well, for example, that's really none of your business,
01:11:38
Isn't it the business of your donors? A lot of people think it's unbecoming for a preacher to live a life of luxury and to fly around in private jets.
01:11:48
What's your response to that? Very simple. It takes a lot of money to do what we do.
01:11:54
Without the airplane that we have that I bought from Tyler Perry, and I didn't pay anywhere. Tyler's one of the greatest guys.
01:12:01
He made it. He made that airplane so cheap for me. I couldn't help but buy it. Do you ever use your private jets to go visit your vacation homes, for example?
01:12:12
Yes, I do. Okay. Again, you have how many planes? We have the
01:12:18
Gulfstream, and we still have our Citation team. And then we have a little small airplane.
01:12:23
But those are the two ones that we use, and we use them all the time. The main reason was
01:12:29
I could no longer do what I called to do and be on the airlines.
01:12:35
Besides that, I need my clothes when I get there. And you have some fancy clothes.
01:12:41
I do. For a pastor, you are living a life of luxury. You've got great homes. You've got great planes.
01:12:47
You drive in limos. I'm a very wealthy man. You're a very wealthy man. Yes. To those critics that say that a preacher should not be living a life of luxury, what is your response to that?
01:13:00
They're wrong. They're wrong. You know what? Justin travels around the world, and he somehow manages to get on commercial even with his scooter and his crutches and his clothes.
01:13:12
And he seems to be able to manage to do it. He's not giving up 65 % of what he does just because he doesn't have a private jet.
01:13:18
They want worldliness. And so you see that they're—do we go backwards?
01:13:25
No, they're devoid of the Spirit. Now, let me—false teachers are devoid of the Spirit. If they're devoid of the
01:13:31
Spirit, then they're not saved. That's not me saying that. That's the Word of God saying that, saying that these false teachers, in verse 19, it is these who cause divisions, worldly people devoid of the
01:13:43
Spirit. I want you to watch this. This is Kenneth Copeland. Now, watch this because this is something that Justin Peters has said.
01:13:50
There's only two people he actually believes is demon -possessed that he's been in the presence of, and it's
01:13:55
Kenneth Copeland, but Todd Bentley is the other. I want you to notice how quick Kenneth Copeland can lash out this reporter.
01:14:02
He could be all, oh, so sweet, but when he says something she doesn't like, watch how quickly he could change.
01:14:07
And I'm just saying, if you look at this guy's eyes, it just seems that something's wrong. Something is off with this guy.
01:14:14
I kind of wonder if Justin's not right. You said that you don't like to fly commercial because you don't want to get into a tube with a bunch of demons.
01:14:22
Do you really believe that human beings are demons? No, I do not. And don't you ever say I did.
01:14:27
We wrestle not with flesh and blood, but principalities and powers.
01:14:32
And so this is what you end up seeing from false teachers. So why does that leave us?
01:14:38
Well, it leaves us in this place. What our job is to do is to identify false teachers and their followers.
01:14:45
Identify them. Use these 28 characteristics to spot who these false teachers are. Spot their followers so we could teach the truth to them.
01:14:53
But you also avoid false teachers. Do not give yourself over. Do not sit there and say, well, let me just try to learn from them and see what
01:15:00
I can learn. No, once someone promotes themselves as a false teacher, they are to be marked and avoided, not encouraged.
01:15:07
You want to encourage their followers to do the same, to avoid them. Not to keep listening to see if there's some truth there.
01:15:13
But also, and this may seem strange to some of us, pray for them and their followers.
01:15:19
We're to pray for them. We have to remember that 2 Timothy 3, 13, we have to remember that they're deceived and deceiving.
01:15:26
Some of these people are deceived themselves. We are, as Jude would say, we are to snatch them out of the flames.
01:15:32
For many think they're walking with Christ and they're headed to an eternal lake of fire.
01:15:38
What we should do is try to snatch them from the flames. And that's what we're trying to do with this seminar.
01:15:45
I think of no better way to end the seminar than the way that Jude ended his letter here with a doxology.
01:15:53
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy.
01:16:03
To the only God and Savior through Jesus Christ, our Lord, be glory, majesty, and dominion and authority before all time, now and forever.
01:16:14
Amen. I think of no other better way to end our time with this than to talk about that.
01:16:20
We should be praying for them. We should be, and that may seem strange for folks to think about praying for false teachers, but we should be.
01:16:28
They need our prayer. So I bring Justin back in so we could close out. We will take one more break and then we're going to have a
01:16:37
Q &A, a time of Q &A. But Justin, just as a reminder to folks, we do want to let people know that they can, as I share that, they could have you and I come and do this same seminar in their church.
01:16:54
We would be happy to come. You would be happy to go, wouldn't you? Absolutely. Definitely would.
01:17:04
You're dragging me to, I keep saying Cambodia, to Guatemala. And so I guess
01:17:10
I'm dragging you to India, huh? Yeah. We got some trips ahead of us and neither one of them will be on a private jet.
01:17:21
Yeah, I know. I know. You know, have you ever flown on a private jet before? No. No?
01:17:27
But you have been on a private jet before. Yes, I have sat on one, inside one private jet.
01:17:34
Yep. All right. It was Kenneth Copeland's private jet. Now, okay, you're going to have to explain, how did you stealthily sneak on, crutches and all, to Kenneth Copeland's private jet?
01:17:48
Yeah, so 11 or 10 or so years, about 10 years ago, I was doing my seminar at a church in Fort Worth or north of Fort Worth there, and very close to Kenneth Copeland's compound.
01:18:02
And the pastor, a friend of mine named Randall, asked me if I'd ever been on Kenneth Copeland's compound.
01:18:08
I said, no, never have. He said, would you like to go and look around? I said, sure, yeah, it's just right down the road.
01:18:14
So we did. And so I just got in the car with him and we went in and the gate was open. And we drove right in and kept driving around the facility there.
01:18:22
And there was his hangar, you know, his private hangar. And we drove down to it and the hangar doors were open.
01:18:29
And so we got out and just kind of walked around in there. And there's two private jets, two other airplanes that were his just kind of his toys, prop planes, a
01:18:42
World War II era fighter, and then a biplane that he uses. Those are just his toys and fancy cars, antique cars, ski boat, motorcycles.
01:18:52
I mean, just full of stuff. And so we're but we walk up to the private jet and a lady walks out and she says, can
01:19:01
I help you? And she was very nice. And my friend Randall, he said, yeah, my friend here just likes to he likes aviation, which is true.
01:19:08
I've always had an interest in aviation. And he wanted to see Mr. Copeland's new jet, which at the time he had.
01:19:16
It's his old one now, but it was new at the time. And so she started telling us about it. And she said, would you like to go inside?
01:19:23
And I was like, OK. And so she opens the door. And my friend, my best friend,
01:19:30
Randall, he helped me up the steps and I climbed up the steps and found myself sitting inside Kenneth Copeland's private jet.
01:19:37
And I don't think I could get away with that now. He knows who I am now. OK, two things.
01:19:44
One, what in the world was she doing, thinking, like, here's a guy on crutches and he's like, that doesn't fit with Copeland's ministry.
01:19:51
And the second question, did you leave a gospel track behind? Yes, I did. I left one in the seat.
01:19:59
I wonder if Kenneth Copeland ever wondered who left that gospel track for him. What's that?
01:20:05
I wonder if Kenneth Copeland ever wondered who left that gospel track for him. Yeah, well, it apparently didn't have the desired effect.
01:20:16
Well, I know we had a couple more people register for this event.
01:20:23
I don't know how many people. I couldn't see how many people were watching during it. But we now have over 2 ,500 people that registered for this event.
01:20:32
So I guess more people have been watching us coming in and out. I know people are going to be watching throughout the week.
01:20:37
But we're going to end up selecting some people that we'll just get to spend some fellowship time with on a
01:20:45
Zoom meeting. And there are some winners. Let's see. I don't know who
01:20:50
I've mentioned. I don't know who has because I haven't checked the email. But we have winners for different books.
01:20:57
Cindy Brown is receiving What Do We Believe? Ryan Leach is, oh, he already contacted us.
01:21:04
David Ross has got What Do They Believe? Stephanie Montgomery, What Do They Believe?
01:21:11
Les, R -E -G -N -E -R -U -S, has Origin of the
01:21:16
Kinds. Let's see. Justin and Gloria Altham have Do Not Hinder Them.
01:21:23
They won that. And let's see. Rocky Mount Princess got
01:21:28
What Do We Believe? And so some new people that we have is David King. David King, you are receiving a
