That's right, tonight is New Year's Eve, and so many people have their plans. They're ready for what they're going to do.

Maybe you're like me, and you just look forward to getting a night of sleep. Actually, by the time this airs,

I'll have flown home from Ohio, and I will be glad to be in bed instead of staying up all night.

But here's the thing. As we look to another year, we look at making

New Year's resolutions. And, you know, Jonathan Edwards had made resolutions that he looked at and would go back to every year and re -examine his life.

And this is a good thing for Christians to do, to take a look at a new year, and in this case, even a new decade.

Where were you 10 years ago? How has God changed things in your life? How has he worked in your life?

Evaluate those things. Look at what you still need to work on with God. Where are there areas that you need some improvement, you need to work on, to focus on?

Identify those areas, write them down, and keep a log of them. That way you can see where you're making some improvement.

Because the reality is, if you just make a resolution with no goal to achieve it,

I can guarantee you're pretty much going to fail. But a resolution where you go back to and revisit is more likely to be one that you're going to look at in another year and say,

Okay, I've made improvement on that. Resolutions are a good thing. The question is, how are you doing with making them come true?
