The Freemasons are a secret society, though they prefer to be known as the largest fraternity in the world.
A local gathering is called a Masonic Lodge. With secret handshakes and rituals and high -profile members, the
Masons have been the subject of many conspiracy theories. Freemasonry began as a guild of stone masons and somehow went from stone cutters to strange cult.
Their emblem is a compass and square, often with a G in the middle, said to stand for Geometry or God, but most likely it's for the
Great Architect of the Universe, their universalist name for God. To be a Mason, one must believe in a
Supreme Being, and some lodges require belief in the Christian God. But this is not a Christian fraternity.
Masons want members to ignore the exclusivity of Jesus as Lord and Savior. You can go to heaven by good works, but Ephesians 2 .8
and 9 says we are saved by grace through faith and not our works. The Masons do not regard the
Bible as the only inerrant word of God. It's just one of several volumes of sacred text, a moral guidebook equal to the
Quran or Rig Veda. Masons do not regard man as sinful, just imperfect, able to improve himself through acts of charity and civic duty.
Anyone is capable of achieving moral perfection. All of this is Antichrist. Jesus said,
I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father but by me. And 1
John 2 .22 says, Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the
