Hi, Jack.
Can you come forward? Yeah.
Jack, come up here with me.
You made the announcement, was it last week or two weeks ago? Two weeks ago.
Yeah.
That you were going to be retiring as an elder after over 50 years.
In that area.
Of service in the church.
Yes.
Not trying to call your age.
Give or take.
Give or take, yeah.
And we are very grateful for all that you have done.
I enjoyed it and loved it.
Today we have some of your family joining us.
I don't know if you noticed.
Yes.
Did you notice back there? Yes.
Oh, no.
Well, Jack, we are grateful for all that you have done for the church.
And as a token of our appreciation, we have produced for you an ornament for your wall to remind you.
It says, Jack Bunning, because of your faithful service to this church body, which has spanned for more than a half a century, we honor you this day, March 21st, 2021.
Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor with deepest appreciation and affection, the congregation of Sovereign Grace Family Church.
Thank you very much.
To God alone be the glory.
Amen.
Amen.
Just let you know, the elders that you have, the pastor and the two elders, and then the best you could get.
I learned a lot being an elder with them.
I enjoyed my time being an elder, but it comes to a time that I need to step back when I see that I haven't finished, but I'm just not able to do some of the things I'd like to do.
I'm still going to go around and shake your hand and hug.
As a man told me when I was a young boy, 27, Mr.
Mosley, he would go around and he would hug the girls.
And I says, Mr.
Mosley, does it not offend your wife when you go and hug the women? He said, son, at my age, it doesn't make any difference.
He said, remember, you shake the man's hand and you hug the women.
He was in his 60s and I was in my 20s.
Thank you very much for the confidence in allowing me to serve you as your elder in the church.
As I said, there's my other son.
Yes, you have a whole family.
See, this is the part that we have to tell you.
We've tried to keep it a secret, and I don't know if we did a good job, but we have a meal in your honor.
Callahan Chicken, your favorite, has catered the meal for you.
Oh, you're going to have some good food.
And we've invited Tanya and Troy and Todd and their families to be with us today to honor you.
And we want you to go and enjoy the meal and know that we love you.
And we were talking about him being in here to affirm the congregation.
You vote yes.
Right? Then you can go enjoy the meal, and we'll be in there directly.
You go ahead.
The food will be here any minute.
Go enjoy your family.
Go enjoy your family.
