- And let me tell you, in spite of inflation, in spite of over a decade past, that pregnancy test is still offered for $5.

- That is so that they can prey on young women who are struggling financially, just like I was.

- Fast forward. My husband and I had two more Children, and then the Lord blessed us with our fourth child.

- I'm an adoptive mother to a teenager. We received our fourth child at age 16.

- She'll be 18 in June. When we first got her, she was one of those kids that kind of kept her head down when we met.

- You see her now. She's drinking iced coffee with big sunglasses in her car, and she'd tell you life is good. Well, when

- I leave to go and speak a travel and and my kids will always say, Well, Mom, where are you going? And where are you talking about this time?

- And how long are you gonna be gone? And what's dad gonna feed us? They do ask that.

- And, uh, this time when I mentioned where I was going, she said,

- Mom, I wish I could be there. Look at my life.

- Look at everything I've been through my testimony. I'm the kind of kid they say you shouldn't have.

- But look what God did. Wow. You know, my own daughter reminded me this week that not only is abortion murder, it is a blatant underestimation of our

- God and his ability to move in any life and under any circumstance. Keep hearing

- America chant in different places. You know, Second Chronicles 7 14. If my people who are humbled, uh, her call by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then

They have two Children, six grandchildren, and he spent many years in grassroots organizing because he's not afraid to stand and speak up for what he believes is right, regardless of the pressure put upon him, because at the end of the day, he knows who he serves, and that's our

- I love to see you. Good crowd. Appreciate it. Uh, Saturday morning. I know there's a lot of things you could do, and I appreciate you taking the conviction to come out here today.

- I'm I want to come to you today and kind of I'm actually from North Caddo Parish, so I'm over four hours from here.

- So a lot of a lot of people are from this area, so you may not know who I am, and I want to take just about five minutes and just kind of give you a general summary of who

- I am and why I'm carrying these bills. I think that's important. I think it's important to know why each each story like Jenny shared her story while she's here today.

- I think it's I'd like to take about five minutes and just share my story with you. Like Jenny said,

- I've spent several years in the last few years trying to change this country grassroots organizing and then kind of through a series of events are my state legislature.

- He term limited. And after a lot of prayer and a lot of thought, I decided to run for office.
- 05:18
- And so I've been recently elected to office about three years ago. Never was in politics, never wanted to be, but felt like God.
- 05:25
- This is where God wanted me. You know, something is a Christian man that that we're taught nowadays, which is completely wrong.
- 05:34
- It needs to be that that that thinking process needs to go away. Is that that women should be the ones that carry these type bills that men cannot carry these bills anymore.

- This is it's not politically correct for that to happen. And I'm here to tell you, when I was a young man, things were different.

- Men were allowed to be men. They were expected to be men. Their wives expected them to be men.
- 05:56
- Their mothers expected him to be men. And and that that is what we need to do is men.

- We need to stand up in our communities and we need to be leaders to kind of show you how we got how

- I got here today. Also, I was at me and Jenny were a national conference, and we had this young lady to come up to us.

- Want to talk to me about running bills here in Louisiana to end abortion. We had a long talk.

- I didn't. You know what? Me and Jenny talked about it. We need to pray about this. And I've kind of reached out to some of the groups in Louisiana that you would think that would support this type legislation, and they weren't that enthusiastic.

- So, you know, we decided, you know, maybe this is not the time, because when you come to Baton Rouge, you've got to come with the people.

- You've got to bring an organized group of people here. That's what makes the change. And after a few months went by after I decided, well, you know,

- God, God's not leading me in that direction. I got a call from Pastor Brian Gunter and said,

- I heard you may be interested in running some legislation to end abortion in Louisiana. I said, well, you know, uh, that's that's not what
- 07:03
- I come to Baton Rouge for, but I've been praying about it, and we'll sit down and talk about this.

- I went and I sat down with Brian, and he told him told me about the different organizations that he had been working with and about his grassroots level work, the way he's starting care pregnancy centers, reaching out to these young mothers and how much expertise that he had in this field.

- So, you know, and one of the thing I'll share with you that made it difficult for me through the that I had to get right in my head when

- I was praying about running this legislation, you know, as Christian men and women, I mean, as a
- 07:42
- Christian man, we were taught and we should believe that we need to protect women and Children.

- That's that's our thought process, and that puts us in a precarious situation in this this movement. Sometime it really, it really pulls on your heartstrings.

- But we have to realize if abortions murder, we have to stand against it, and it's really just that simple.

- You know, I look at this is to be my cross to bear to some extent. Like I said, I didn't come to Baton Rouge to run this.

- I run constitutional carry. I'm a big ball headed country boy. Constitutional carriers right up my alley.

- You know, I know that from front and back sideways. This was not the bill.

- This is not the bill that I thought I was going to carry, but I do want to be obedient to Christ.

- And for for here and now I'm in this fight, and I want you to know that I've settled that fight in my mind, and I'm gonna be here to the end.

- I'm gonna be here with this team, but we can't do it without you. You know, we we think this fight is going into this building, and it's not.

- This fight may end of this building, but it's gonna start in your hometown, in your church and the community.

- I honestly believe to turn things around in Louisiana. We've got to start saving these preborn babies that are being murdered.

- I think that's it. But that comes with a revival. We've got to change the hearts and souls and minds in our hometowns and our home churches.

- We gotta expect our Christian men and women to step up and take on this fight. You have to be apostles and go out and spread this word.

- We can't do it. We're just up here. We're a voice for what you have to do, and we want to stand with you and what we want to help you.

- He is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Livingston, Louisiana. He's married to Trish, and the

- Lord has blessed them with four Children. Brian was first taught by Rusty Thomas to preach the gospel at the gates of hell, and he has continued to proclaim it on the sidewalk outside of abortion clinics in Texas and Louisiana for the last 14 years.

- He is the founder of Sin Law Pregnancy Center in Alexandria, where hundreds of babies have been saved from abortion.

- Over the past eight years, Brian has worked with many legislators and elected officials in Louisiana to fight and end abortion.

- Let's give a warm welcome to Pastor Brian Gunter. Brothers and sisters, as we come here today, we come fighting a monumental battle against the greatest evil to ever plague this land.

- And I mean those words exactly. I want to begin by saying that it takes incredible courage for state

- Representative Danny McCormick to introduce these bills. The reality is that there are very few legislators who would stand directly in the line of fire on this issue.

- And the reason that I approached Danny was because I realized that he had the guts to stand up when everyone else would be pressuring him to sit down.

- And just as he has decided to stand, we must do the same. The reality is, brothers and sisters, we have sat along the sideline as children have been murdered by the millions for too long.

- And it's time that we bring it to an end. Now, I was trained by this man standing to the right of me over here,

- Rusty Thomas. Back in 2008, I went to the
- 12:10
- Planned Parenthood in Waco because God had broken my heart over the murder of these
- 12:15
- Children. And I said, I'm gonna go to the nearest abortion clinic, and I'm going to go and offer help to those women, and I'm gonna present the gospel to them.

- And as I arrived with my wife on the sidewalk that morning, there was this crazy man in a cowboy hat leading a group of brothers and sisters in Christ to, as he would say, preach the gospel at the gates of hell.

- You see, we call abortion clinics the gates of hell because they are the most evil places on earth.

- They are altars of the pagan God, Moloch, in our land, where Children are offered as living sacrifices upon the altar of convenience, that we would put our own lives and our own comfort before our own

- Children, that we would tear them apart limb from limb rather than us have to bear the inconvenience of raising these little precious ones.

- It is wicked, and we all know it. Look at the pictures here this morning.

- When we talk about abortion, that's what we're talking about. And some say you shouldn't show those pictures.

- I wouldn't understand how evil the Holocaust against Jews was in 1930s and 40s

- Germany unless I saw the stacks of bodies. I wouldn't be able to grasp what that's like until I saw it with my own eyes.

- And the same is true of abortion. They are killing

- Children. They are killing Children. Louisiana law requires that the

- Department of Health report how many abortions take place in the three abortion clinics in Louisiana, which are located here in Baton Rouge, in New Orleans and in Shreveport.

- And at those three abortion clinics last year in 2021, the Department of Health says that 7444 babies were legally murdered in our state under our watch.

- What are we gonna do to put an end to it? That's an average of just over 20 babies killed every day.

- So we've introduced two bills to put a stop to it. HB 3 44 defy row says that we do not recognize
- 15:20
- Roe v. Wade in the state of Louisiana. The Bible calls it an iniquitous decree.

- It is wicked. It is evil. We will not have Children murdered in our state because nine justices in robes and D.
- 15:37
- C. Told us that we have to have those Children killed in the 18 fifties.

- The Supreme Court said that a black man was nothing more than a piece of property in the dread

- Scott versus Sanford ruling. They said that states in the north had to take escaped slaves and return them to their slave owners in the south.

- And do you know what the states the free states did after the dread

- Scott ruling? They defied the dread Scott ruling. They said we won't do it.

- It's evil. There is a higher law. The Supreme Court is not the final court.

- There is a higher court. It is in heaven, and there is one judge there.

- His name is Jesus Christ. He's not up for reelection. He doesn't need our permission.

- He is the king of heaven and earth, and we will all stand before him one day soon, and he's going to ask us on that day.

- What did you do to protect these Children? So what are we gonna do if I were to tell you that someone was going to go into a local elementary school and shoot 20

- Children, murder them in cold blood? Would you do something about it?

- Or would you say, Well, that's not my problem. I can't stop it.

- Would you call anybody? Would you call the police if they didn't listen? Would you go there to stop him?

- Would you do everything in your power to protect the lives of those 20 Children in a local elementary school?

- If the answer is yes, then the next question I have for you is, are you doing the same to protect 20

- Children whose lives are just as precious, who are being murdered right now today in this state?

- Right now, babies are being dismembered limb from limb. What are we going to do about it?

- The second bill we've introduced is H B 8 13. We call it a bill of equal protection.

- It says this Children in the womb should have the exact same legal protections as all other persons in Louisiana.

- You murder a child in the womb. You will be charged with the same crime as if you murdered any other innocent person in this state.

- Abortion is murder, and it's about time we start acting like we really believe it.

- We say they're human beings from the moment of conception. Then why don't we protect their lives from the moment of conception, just like we would anyone else's?

- I want to thank publicly State Representative Tony Bacala because he has scheduled

- H B 8 13 for a hearing this Wednesday at nine a .m. Inside this building,

- Representative Bacala ran as a pro life state representative, and he's keeping his word.

- He's endorsed our bill, and there are over 40 other legislators who have endorsed our bill.

- We're gonna show up this Wednesday at nine a .m. And I need you with me. I need you in the room.

- House room number 69 a .m. This Wednesday, right here, fill out a green card in support of our bill, and I, along with others, are going to be testifying in favor of that bill, and the legislators will vote.

- Are we going to protect Children in the womb equally as we do all other persons?

- Yes or no. And if they vote no, the blood of those babies will be on those legislators hands.

- But there's another bill H B 3 44 that I mentioned earlier defy row, and I hate to tell you this, but there is a pro life politician, state

- Representative Gregory Miller, who is the chair of the House Civil Law Committee.
- 20:06
- And though he ran telling his constituents he would end abortion in our state, he is stonewalling our bill and will not schedule it for a hearing.

- Now, over the past few months, I've made repeated pleas to Representative Miller, and he's yet to schedule the bill.
- 20:24
- And I am publicly calling out state Representative Gregory Miller. Either schedule it for a hearing or tell your constituents you lied to them and you aren't truly pro life.

- Which is it? I don't want to hear excuses. There is no more urgent matter than Children being killed every day in this state, and it's time that our legislators do their job, which they promised to do and put an end to it now.

- Now, you may know that I have worked in the pro life industry in the state of Louisiana for the past eight years, five years of which

- I was a staff member for the largest pro life organization in our state. And for a number of reasons,
- 21:17
- I left that position. And one of those was that I am absolutely convinced that we must be bold.

- We cannot peel abortion back layer by layer. We cannot wait on permission from the
- 21:33
- Supreme Court to protect these babies. I had some pro life leaders, as they are called, plead with me to get
- 21:43
- Representative McCormick to pull these bills. It's not the right time. Let's wait and see what happens in June when the
- 21:51
- Supreme Court decides dogs. Meanwhile, 20 babies are being murdered every day.
- 21:57
- And so I was asked, We'll just wait till next session next year. I said,

- Oh, that will only cost us the lives of 7444 more babies.

- I'm sorry. That's a price I'm not willing to pay. I won't bargain with their lives.

- Furthermore, we do have a trigger law in the state of Louisiana. It was passed in 2006.

- It's called the Human Life Protection Act, and this bill has been touted. But do you know what happens if row gets overturned in June?

- Do you know what the effect will be in Louisiana? Yes, abortion will be banned. Do you know what the penalty will be?

- A $1000 fine for the abortionist. It's a little bit more than a speeding ticket.
- 22:48
- A $1000 fine for the abortionist. Do you know what the fine is for cruelty to animals?
- 22:58
- If you kill a puppy in this state, do you know what the fine is? $25 ,000.

- So if we overturn row, we'll finally be able to value the lives of puppy dogs 25 times more than the life of a human being in the womb.

- That is absurd. That is not enough. We need to pass

- HB 8 13 and make the crime for killing a baby equal to the crime of murdering any other human.

- And we need to pass HB 3 44 defy row to require the state of Louisiana and all of its officials and all of its offices and all of its authorities to enforce those laws.

- Yeah, now people tell us, well, you can't do this. The Supreme Court is the law of the land.

- We can't defy row. First off, it's been done before in American history. Second off, and more importantly, it's what

- God commands us to do. Now, Peter and john, and they were preaching the gospel in the book of Acts.

- They were arrested and in prison. And if you read the story in Acts three, four and five, an angel broke them out of prison, and they went right back into the temple and kept preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

- And they were arrested again. And the authority said, We strictly charge you to no longer speak in the name of Jesus Christ.

- And Peter and john looked at those government officials, and they said in acts five verse 29.

- We must obey God rather than men, brothers and sisters.

- It's very simple. We must end abortion now. No excuses, no exceptions.

- The same crime is murdering any other human. We must end it now.

- We cannot wait. I will not listen to excuses from politicians. We end it now because we must obey

- Versus 10 through 12 are written for the church for Christ's bride, whom he atoned for.

- Brothers and sisters, we're living in a time of adversity. Are we going to faint showing that our strength is small or be going to rise to the occasion, declaring that our strength is founded and rooted in our creator.

- It is not a suggestion but a command to rescue those who are being taken away to death and to hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.

- There is no better opportunity to do so than this. Dear legislator, if you hear this, if you say, behold,

- Will he not repay you according to your work? Proverbs six teaches us that God hates the hands that shed innocent blood.

- And in Joel three, God promises to make Egypt desolate and eat them a wilderness because of the innocent blood that was shed in their land.

- In Leviticus 20, not only does God promise to set his face against those who practice child sacrifice, but also against those who close their eyes to this abomination to them and their clans.

- Christians, where does this leave us? Where does our nation fall into this legislator?

- Which category would God place you in? I want to speak for a minute about our founding fathers.

- Overall, our founding fathers rightly understood this. And as Zach Lautenschlager has said, and he's going to speak here after me, these men were literally willing to lie face down in the mud so that generations after them could walk across their backs in freedom.

- We are still reaping the benefits of their steadfastness today. Although if the church does not quickly rise up, we soon may be literally staring down the barrel of tyranny.

- These men lived and breathed first Corinthians 16 13, which has be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men be strong.

- Unfortunately, so many men who claim the name of Christ have forgotten this untold numbers of men have neglected our duty to be watchful, to stand firm in the faith, to act like men and to be strong to the degree that men have deliberately and cowardly remained silent, are chosen not to fight for the lives of our pre born neighbors.

- This must start in the pulpit with faithful and courageous pastors like Pastor Brian, for example, willing to fight for liberty and justice for all, including the pre born.

- Probably the greatest influence on our founding fathers, the government issued history books have failed to mention was the

- Black Robe Regiment. These courageous men were the faithful pastors of our founders. They trained up their congregations in the word while also preparing them to fight for the

- God given rights for their God given rights and liberties to lead the charge from their pulpits.

- One of my favorites who has had a tremendous influence on me as a pastor was the Reverend Jonas Clark.

- His work and his ministry has had such a tremendous impact on me that I actually named my son after him.

- Jonas Clark was a farmer, patriot and the Presbyterian pastor of Christ Church in Lexington, Massachusetts.

- He was best friends with the father of the American Revolution, Samuel Adams, and his wife's cousin,

- John Hancock. On the night of April 18th, 1775,
- 32:50
- Adams and Hancock were staying at Clark's home in Lexington, which they frequently did.

- The British had learned of the whereabouts of these men and were on their way to capture them.

- The men were greeted by Paul Revere, who had intentionally stopped at Clark's home during his famous ride to let them know that the

- Clark if the men of Lexington were ready. He replied, I trained them for this very hour.

- They would fight and if need be die to under the shadow of the house of God.

- The next morning, April 19th, 1775, Pastor Clark led his Lexington Minutemen out onto the battlefield to face the invaders.

- The British ordered this makeshift citizen army to throw down their arms in the name of the
- 33:47
- King of England. But the response from the Clark trained and prepared patriots was we recognize no sovereign but God and no king but Jesus.

- Clark recognized the importance of fighting a defensive battle and not an offensive one, therefore preparing his men not to fire unless fired upon.

- What happened next was the infamous shot heard around the world. Jonas Clark lost 18 members of his congregation that morning who were innocently murdered by the

- British, willing to lay their lives down for their God -given rights. They were prepared to pay the ultimate sacrifice in order to ensure equal protection of life and liberty for all of their neighbors.

- On April 19th, 1776, Pastor Clark delivered a sermon on the one -year anniversary of the shot heard around the world.

- This was three months prior to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. His sermon text was a passage

- I already mentioned, Joel 3, 19 through 21, which says, Egypt shall become a desolation and Edom a desolate wilderness for the violence done to the people of Judah because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

- But Judah shall be inhabited forever in Jerusalem to all generations. I will avenge their blood, blood

- I have not avenged, for the Lord dwells in Zion. As demonstrated when facing the

- British, Pastor Clark lived and breathed the mantra no king but Christ. He rightly understood

- God's rule over all nations and firmly believed that all governments should bow their knee in submission to their
- 35:31
- Creator. As Psalm 212 states, kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled.

- Blessed are all who take refuge in him. In this sermon,

- Jonas Clark taught, next to the acknowledgement of the existence of a deity, there is no one principle of greater importance in religion than realizing belief of the divine government and providence, to realize that God is governor among the nations, that his government is wise and just, and that our times and changes are in his hands and at his disposal.

- He also understood what impact the shedding of innocent blood has on a nation and ultimately he wanted nothing to do with it.

- In this sermon he also said, blood is to be cleansed or avenged when justice has taken place and the murderer is punished.

- God may be said to cleanse the innocent blood which may have been shed among his people by the sword of oppressors or enemies when in providence he undertakes for them, avenges their blood upon them that slew them and reduces them to reason or ruin.

- Pastor Clark was spot -on. Pastors, if you're here or you're listening, when will you have the courage to lead your congregations like Pastor Clark did?

- When will you fan the flames of liberty like the Black Robe Regiment did? Legislators, the shedding of innocent blood will not be avenged until justice has taken place and justice will not take place until the murderer is punished.

- You have the perfect opportunity to do this now, to either be a hero or play the coward.

- The choice is yours. Choose this day whom you will serve. In the words of the

- Apostle Paul in Philippians 1 20 through 21 it says, as it is my eager expectation hope that I will not be at all ashamed but that with full courage now as always

- I want to end with this blessing from Jonas Clark at the end of that sermon. He said, may that God who is a

- We realize this is not a biological issue but a moral one. It is a sin issue that flows from hearts and rebellion against God.

- It is for this reason that we proclaim to you today that abortion will only end in our land through the power of God's Spirit that renews fallen men and women applying the work of Jesus Christ and his righteousness to them as a gift by faith.

- That is the heart of the gospel. Well we say in accordance with God's law that this is murder and that God commands us not to murder.

- This has been the church's proclamation since the very beginning. Nothing has changed.

- The problem is it has become the en vogue thing for many when they see

- Christians involved in public matters such as this to retort separation of church and state.

- Separation of church and state. Have you heard this? We say this is

- God's word. Obey him. The response comes back separation of church and state or we can't legislate morality.

- We believe in that by the way. That came from the recognition on the part of believers that God has clearly created separate spheres of authority that he designed to be distinct from one another but completely in subjection to him and accountable to his word.

- This is why those in the church are called ministers of grace while those that serve as magistrates according to Romans 13 are ministers of justice.

- They serve the God of heaven whether they realize it or not. I guess somebody should tell them.

- Our forebears meant something by a wall of separation. They were fearful that the federal government would establish and enforce a national denomination thus violating their jurisdiction by encroaching on the affairs of the church.

- The reality today is this has become nothing more than a trope to silence the voices of Christians in the public square.

- No longer. The other side has been perfectly content to impose their standards fighting for child sacrifice to be enshrined as a religious sacrament to a false

- God and meanwhile those that ought to be putting an end to this are regulating it as health care rather than criminalizing it as murder.

- The truth is we are gathered here today to call on the state of Louisiana and its elected officials to legislate

- Christian morality as it relates to pre -born children. But we must be very clear about this.

- Our friends over here could do well listening to this word as well holding up signs that say say no to religious laws.

- But understand my friends someone's view of good and evil will govern our land.

- Everyone has a religious basis for their morality. All law deals with moral issues and everyone has an ethical framework from which they derive their values.

- Therefore lawmaking is inescapably religious. We will either impose a morality that protects babies in the womb or they will impose their morality on the child in the womb and fight for the right to do so.

- It is unavoidable and inescapable. It's not a question of whether a standard will be imposed but which one.

- Righteous laws do not change wicked hearts that are filled with hate. Only the gospel empowered by God's spirit can do that.

- But righteous laws do restrain hands set on shedding innocent blood.

- Therefore for the sake of little image bearers of God we can and must legislate morality because that is all anyone can do.

- This is the righteous use of the law. First Timothy 1 7 tells us this that the law is not laid down for the just and obedient but for the unjust the lawless to restrain it.

- And if we love our neighbor we will fight to publish laws that protect their lives. Love is the fulfillment of the law and the law restrains hatred towards our neighbor because the essence of the law is love for God and love for neighbor.

- So this is why we're here today fighting to establish justice for the pre -born. That's what equal protection means.

- The same laws that apply to everyone else ought to be applied to the baby in the womb. Christ says second greatest commandment love your neighbor as you love yourself.

- How do you want to be protected? Protect them like that. Do unto others as you would have done unto you the golden rule.

- Do not show partiality and judgment. Do not use unequal weights and measures.

- Do not acquit the guilty and punish the innocent as you'll hear more about shortly.

- These are things that God considers abominations. Abominations bring the judgment of God on a people.

- You know so often we hear in the modern evangelical context all sins are the same.

- All sins are the same. Well all sins may be the same in that they condemn us before God's eternal justice as individuals but not all sins evoke the same response from God in his dealings with men on earth and in real time.

- He is not only the just judge that we will stand before as individuals on the final day.

- He is the covenant Lord of history that judges entire nations for their obedience or disobedience to his word.

- That's why our task is so urgent. Can I say that to you today? That is why our task is so urgent.

- The shedding of innocent blood has brought a curse upon our land and some would say just preach the gospel.

- Stay out of it. Stay out of politics. Well what is that good news that we are to be proclaiming?

- Is it not the good news of a kingdom with a king who has a law and a domain of jurisdiction as the supreme emperor of all things created?

- I want to exhort us today to not only make the confession. We're Christians here.

- We're gathered today. What is the Christian confession? Jesus Christ is Lord. Amen.

- That is the Christian confession but we have to understand what that means. This is something that our forebears understood that we desperately need to recover.

- You know someone responded to our invite of the rally, a pastor and said give me just one example of either

- Jesus or the apostles involving themselves in government. Give me just one example.

- Well we have to ask ourselves why did that confession Jesus Christ is

- Lord cost the apostles and faithful brethren throughout history their very lives?

- Why? It was their confession that put their lives in danger.

- How so? If Jesus is Lord then Caesar is not.

- If the Word of Christ is the final authority then he and not man is the source of ultimate sovereignty which was precisely the message they proclaimed.

- It was said there is no other name given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved than that of Caesar and the apostles take that phrase in Acts 4 13 turn it on its head and say there is no other name given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved but Jesus Christ.

- He's referred to as the Lord of glory. That was a title that was assigned to emperors and self -fashioned men who thought that they were gods.

- They believed that the political realm was their arm of salvation to the world and that they could transcend the distance between heaven and earth by virtue of politics by virtue of their works.

- It was salvation by works and the apostles come out of the woodwork and they say there is one mediator between God and men the man

- Christ Jesus. Salvation is not mediated through a political figure a man that can ascend to the status of deity.

- Salvation is mediated through God himself who entered his own creation took on human nature.

- He was fashioned as a man and he was obedient to the point of death even death on a cross that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven on earth under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is

- Lord to the glory of God the Father. One mediator between God and men.

- Did that involve the apostles with their government? Remember when

- Paul writes to Timothy saying he's about to be killed because of his confession and says get ready Timothy they're coming for you next.

- He exhorts him to make the good confession as Christ did before Pilate Revelation 1 5 tells us that Jesus is the faithful witness the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of kings on earth and what does

- Christ say to Pilate? Pilate comes to him and says why don't you talk? Don't you know I have the authority to crucify you or to let you go?
- 50:50
- And Jesus says you would have no authority over me unless it had been granted to you from above.

- There is an authority above the government and above the king. Pilate asks are you a king?

- Jesus says for this reason I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth everyone on the side of truth hears my voice.

- What was he saying? If you disobey my voice it's as if you disobeyed God because he's

- God. That was something that men reserved for themselves to say and Jesus claims that for himself.

- Do you think that involved Jesus with his government? What was the result of that confession?

- Did it seal his testimony in his own blood or not? Sorry I get fired up when

- I hear these things. Indeed they crucified him but he did not stay on that cross and he did not stay in that tomb.

- The point is Christ is king over the state as well as the church. He has all authority in heaven and on earth.

- Obey him. Should Christians involve themselves in matters of government?

- Here's my answer. Jesus Christ is Lord. There is a law higher than the

- Supreme Court. Yes the Constitution but above that the word of the living God. So magistrates hear his word today particularly the ones that claim to be pro -life.

- Isaiah 10 1. Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees and the writers who keep writing oppression to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right that widows may be their spoil that they may make the fatherless their prey.

- Stop making laws that do less than what justice demands of you.

- Do what God requires for these children. Psalm 82 2.

- God walks among the Elohim. Another word referencing judges and he says to them how long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked?

- Give justice to the weak and to the fatherless. Maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.

- Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them from the hand of the wicked. In other words the

- King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the blessed and only sovereign walks in these hallways of the magistrates and if they will not do his will then they will fall like any other prince whether they profess to be

- Christian or not. Proverbs 31 8. Written to a king.

- Open your mouth for the mute for the rights of all who are destitute. Yes the destitute have rights.

- Open your mouth. Judge righteously. Defend the rights of the poor and the needy.

- And lastly Psalm 2. What does it say? The nation's rage and the people's plot in vain.

- Kings of the earth set themselves the ruler state council together against the Lord and against his anointed saying let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.

- He who sits in heaven laughs. The Lord will hold them in derision. He will speak to them in his wrath and terrify them in his fury saying as for me

- I've set my king on Zion my holy hill. I will tell of the decree the

- Lord said to me you are my son. Today I have begotten you. That refers not to the incarnation but to the resurrection according to the apostles in the book of Acts.

- Jesus is the first begotten from the dead and then the father says to the son ask of me and I'll give you the nation's for your heritage the very ends of the earth for your possession.

- Do we think that Christ forgot to ask the father for the nation's for their rulers?

- We hold these truths to be self -evident that all men are created equal that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that to secure these rights governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

- Those are words you've heard before and sometimes they become a cliche but I want to remind you of them.

- I want you to stop and think about them not as words spoken on high by some old dead white guys but as the founding words that established the form of government that you are blessed to live under, that we are blessed to live under.

- Those are radical concepts in earth history. Do you comprehend how radical it was to say that government is instituted solely for the reason of defending and securing the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and that that government gets its power from the consent of the governed.

- Now I'm not here to give you a government lesson or history lesson. I'm here to very briefly remind you that this is your responsibility.

- This is not something that just happens. There were 56 men who helped draft and then put their names to that declaration.

- We call it the Declaration of Independence. More than two -thirds of them had some kind of religious training and so when

- Luke talks about the Black Robe Regiment you have large numbers of the signers of the Declaration who were trained in seminary.

- You have the oldest man who signed the

- Declaration. His name is John Hart. He was from New Jersey and he served with John Witherspoon, the man who started

- Princeton and who trained a majority of the founding fathers in religious degrees.

- You have to understand that they had theology degrees, many of them trained by John Witherspoon.
- 01:00:56
- Now the men after they signed the Declaration went home.

- John Hart, who served with John Witherspoon in the same delegation from New Jersey, returned to his home in Bear Tavern just in time for the

- British to invade and they moved in and marched up his driveway shortly after his wife left this world.

- They had 13 children and those 13 children were scattered. Some of them were grown, the younger ones were placed with friends and relatives wherever they could go.

- And John left his home and the British came and occupied it and he lived that winter outside for fear of capture.

- He did not sleep inside a building through the entire winter. You have to understand he is, at that time, he is at the end of his life.

- He is in his sixties. That winter broke him.

- As spring came, he was able to come out of the woods because the war had moved on, the

- Battle of Trenton had been fought. He held a few small positions of trust but his health was broken and he shortly after that died and went to be with his

- Savior and saw his wife again. He was one of eight of the 56 signers who gave their lives during the war and they knew that was possible because what did they write at the end of the

- Declaration? And for the support of this Declaration, we pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.

- Now we know what it means for them to pledge their lives and their fortunes. We know men like John Hart gave their lives.

- But you don't understand what sacred honor means, probably. You see, if they were captured by the
- 01:03:02
- British, they would not only be convicted of treason, they would be drawn and quartered. That means to be cut open from your chin to your waist and then to be hacked limb from limb.

- That was the penalty for treason. But that's not the end of it. Then the
- 01:03:24
- Parliament would pass a bill of attainder against you, which means your family name is tainted.

- Your Children and grandchildren. It's like having a criminal record. They can't get good jobs. They can't own land.

- They're doomed to poverty. That's what they meant by their sacred honor. Why would they do that?

- Why would they risk none of their lives and their fortunes but the future of their families, the honor of their name?

- They told us to secure the blessings of liberty for us and our posterity.

- That's you. That's me. Now, my grandma used to sit me down and tell me that story.

- Why was she telling me the story of John Hart? Because she would end it with. And that is what your grandpa did for freedom.

- Because you see, John Hart has millions of descendants today, one of which is me.

- And my grandma used to ask me, What will you do to defend the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

- That's a question that I'm here to ask you. I've thought a lot about it. I'm six sitting there, and she's asking,

- But what are you gonna do? And how do you live up to that? Right? Well, the good news is we don't have to.

- That's the point. Our forefathers sacrificed to that level so that we can stand and fight for the rights to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness using political means.

- And that's what I've dedicated my life to doing. When I got started in politics, there were no states that had passed the bill

- I was trying to pass, which is intensely controversial. And now it has been passed in 25 states.

- Praise God. Praise God. It can be done. I've seen it.

- You can do it. What do you need to do? Well, first of all, you need to understand the blessing that you have been given.

- If you are not fighting to the level that God has called you to fight, if you are not looking for ways to take political action to defend life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, then you do not understand what has been sacrificed, and you do not understand the value of what you have.

- And then you need to start looking at it and asking, What is the difference between a state legislator and a U. S.
- 01:06:12
- Congressman? What is the difference between a state senator and a U. S. Senator who is from a state?

- How do you know how these things work? What happens in the building behind me? Is it really that hard to understand?

- How do we change law? How do we say I don't consent anymore to that?

- The Constitution or the Declaration tells us that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed.

- What do you do when your government does things you don't like? What do you do when when murder is legalized?

- That's the question you need to ask. Here's one of the first things you can do. How many of you have signed the petition that's going around?

- I want to leave you with this. That Declaration of Independence, written by our forefathers, established a country and the

- Constitution became the guiding the guiding principle or the guiding light.

- And many people point to that Constitution and say we have to do whatever the Supreme Court says. This is what they read.

- This Constitution and the laws of the United States, which shall be made in pursuance thereof, shall be the supreme law of the land.

- And the judges in every state shall be bound thereby anything in the Constitution or laws of any state to the contrary.

- Notwithstanding, it's called the Supremacy Clause. I mean, you've heard the Supremacy Clause thrown at you said you have to do whatever the

- Supreme Court says. Forgetting the little clause that says in pursuance thereof, this

- Constitution and any laws made in pursuance thereof, those who are throwing the
- 01:09:23
- Supremacy Clause that you and saying you just have to do whatever the Supreme Court says readily acknowledge that. Well, yes, it does have to be constitutional.

- Constitution say it's okay to murder people? The Supreme Court says it's in the penumbra.

- So you have Supreme Court justices saying, Well, we're higher beings and we can discern that in the shadow of what is written that there is a right to privacy.

- You need to know what's going on. The greatest enemy we have right now to justice for our pre born neighbors is the pro life industry.

- They can't sustain an argument against the truth. Our greatest enemy has been the pro life leaders who fund their operations with millions and millions of dollars of donations.

- They make promises to those who are partnering with them and giving all this money to them that we're trying to end abortion, that all human life is sacred, all human life needs to be protected.

- But in every single state, every single state that we've been in in the last couple of years,

- Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, Pennsylvania and now

- Louisiana. The opposition to these bills of equal protection and abolition has not come from the pro choice lobby or industry.

- It has come from the pro life leadership and pro life industry. They have been the greatest enemy.

- They go and we know about your conversations. Our legislators talk to us when we put the bill of equal protection in these pro life leaders in this industry goes into their rooms quietly out of the view of you, the givers.

- They go to their rooms and they say, don't pass that bill. It's not time. Don't pass that bill.

- Yeah, we agree with it. Yeah, that's exactly what we say. It's human from conception, but it's not the time.

- Not the time means that you're a coward. Not the time means that you're waiting for God to raise up the hero after you.

- It is the time for justice. As Brian said, you have at least 20 babies a day murdered in your state.

- The pro life industry is not consistent with their profession. They tell you they want your money and they're gonna fight for the lives of these pre born

- Children. They say all life is precious. All life deserves to be protected, but they will not be consistent with their profession that they believe that it's human from conception because they resist these bills of justice for the pre born human from conception in every single state we've gotten it in.

- They fought against every bill in Oklahoma. Tony Lounger, who was the vice president of national right to life, and I believe the president of Oklahomans for life.

- He went when the legislators asked him, How should we vote on this bill of abolition? He said,

- Don't pass it. He said, If you guys pass this bill, it'll do away with all our pro life legislation.

- Yes, praise God that it will. In Texas, Jeff Leach suppressed and blocked the bill of abolition in the state of Texas.

- In Arizona, Kathy Herod, one of the leading pro life leaders in my state, went to all of our sponsors and convinced them not to pass the bill of equal protection.

- Why? Because it's a foreign world view, she says, as the pro life industry typically does normally does generally does that the woman and the man involved in the abortion process, bringing their child to the abortionist are themselves victims like the baby.

- They say that there are two victims in abortion, the mother and the baby.

- That's a foreign world view. It's a foreign world view because God's word says in Proverbs 17 15 that the one who acquits the guilty and the one who condemns the righteous are both equally alike an abomination to God.

- We know what it means to see somebody who is innocent go through a trial and be called guilty.

- We call that abomination. We say it's an evil. We say it's an injustice and we need to fight against it. But God says he feels the same way about acquitting the person who actually is guilty.

- And the pro life industry has a foreign world view, not not based on the gospel in scripture that says the mother is herself a victim, which means that they have brothers and sisters robbed these women of the truth of the gospel and the hope of the gospel.

- My church is filled with women who have not just had one abortion but multiple abortions and they are honest about their sin and they are free in Jesus Christ.

- They are forgiven because they came to Christ recognizing what had been done and they gave it to the one who said it is finished on the cross.

- The pro life establishment says we are not Christian. They say it explicitly. They say we are not doing what we're doing because the word of God and we believe women are victims, brothers and sisters.

- The pro life industry will never end abortion like that ever. Everywhere the

- Christian church has gone with the gospel, we have done away with slavery. We have done away with infanticide and the murder of Children.

- And we are in that moment now, brothers and sisters, where the question is going to be asked to you. Will you speak the truth of God's word to your culture in the public square?

- My son, my fifth child, Augustine Gideon Durbin. I adopted him two years ago.

- He was diagnosed in the womb of his biological mother with the worst stage of spina bifida there is.

- He was going to be in surgery, they said, for up to six weeks in the hospital because his spine was wide open.

- We have the ultrasounds. He was gonna need brain surgery. He may never walk, they told us he was in the womb of his biological mother.

- And if this tribe had their way, Augustine would be murdered today.

- And Augustine is the most precious, beautiful boy in the world. And guess what? God healed him of the spina bifida.

- Children in Arizona, but not for the express reason that they have down syndrome or genetic abnormality.
