A TLP Snippet 5: Transgenderism is Child Abuse

Welcome to this TLP snippet, Parenting Wisdom in Five Minutes or Less. I'm your host A .M. Brewster and I want to remind you of something very important that happened a year ago this week.

In March of 2016, the American College of Pediatrics issued a statement on transgenderism and children.

It was authored by Dr. Paul McHugh, who is a Johns Hopkins Medical School of Psychology professor.

I'm gonna share part of their statement in a moment, but first we need to understand that science belongs to God. He created it and even secular man can learn about God and come to biblical conclusions when they rightly interpret the natural world.

This is why this article is so beneficial. They list out eight arguments concerning why gender reclassification is harmful from what they believe to be a secular standpoint.

Whether they intended it or not, the observations are honest and truthful. You likely already believe that transgenderism is harmful, but I encourage you to listen to this and this list and be knowledgeable.

You will likely meet proponents of transgenderism who will need you to speak scientific truth into their lives, but you'll also have to address these concepts at some point with your kids because they're growing up in this culture and they too need to understand how

God created the world to work. So here are the eight arguments. Number one, human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait.

XY and XX are genetic markers of health, not genetic markers of a disorder.

Number two, no one is born with a gender. Everyone is born with a biological sex.

Gender, which is an awareness and sense of oneself as male or female, is a sociological and psychological concept, not an objective biological one.

Three, a person's belief that he or she is something they are not is at best a sign of confused thinking.

When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind, not the body, and it should be treated as such.

Four, puberty is not a disease and puberty blocking hormones can be dangerous. Reversible or not, puberty blocking hormones induce a state of disease, the absence of puberty, and inhibit growth and fertility in a previously biologically healthy child.

Five, according to the DSMV, as many as 98 % of gender confused boys and 88 % of gender confused girls eventually accept their biological sex after naturally passing through puberty.

Six, children who use puberty blockers to impersonate the opposite sex will require cross -sex hormones in late adolescence.

Cross -sex hormones, like testosterone and estrogen, are associated with dangerous health risks, including, but not limited to, high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke, and cancer.

Seven, rates of suicide are 20 times greater among adults who use cross -sex hormones and undergo sex reassignment surgery, even in Sweden, which is among the most

LGBTQ -affirming countries. And eight, conditioning children to believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthy is child abuse.

You see, in the beginning, God created a man and a woman. His sovereignty knows the best sex for us and we have no biological or biblical right to pretend we are anything other than God created us.
