- Well, I remember and I ain't scared. We live in a culture today where sin is celebrated.
- 00:11
- And now that it is June, we are celebrating Pride Month, which kicks off today, according to the Library of Congress.
- 00:17
- Pride is meant to recognize the sweeping impact that members of the LGBTQ plus community, advocates and allies have all had on history in the
- 00:25
- U .S. and around the world. And righteousness is punished. Merrick Garland, the attorney general, and Christopher Wray, the director of the
- 00:32
- FBI, that resurrects this case on a minor offense and uses the full force of the federal government and the
- 00:39
- FBI to descend on this guy's home, to arrest him in front of his seven children. But if you're not going to let me, then
- 00:45
- I'll just. No, I want to know why you were banging on my door with a gun. You're not going to tell me anything.
- 00:55
- I tried. No, you didn't. You did not try. This is not acceptable.
- 01:02
- Can I have your name? You're not going to give me your name.
- 01:08
- You're not going to give me any information. We have absolutely lost our minds when it comes to human sexuality.
- 01:17
- Amen. We live in a world today where a Canadian man was arrested for using the wrong pronoun for his biologically female child.
- 01:27
- Of course, we didn't get to where we are overnight. First, it was, you know, the whole homosexual movement and that move from, you know, from sodomy to homosexual to gay.
- 01:42
- Isn't it interesting how, you know, the terminology just sort of fast forwarded on us? The LGBTQ movement has been extremely smart and manipulating terminology to change the minds of people in the culture at large.
- 01:56
- And now Christians are expected and more and more forced to submit to the cultural dominance of the
- 02:03
- LGBTQ agenda. We went from sodomy, which is a biblical idea of unnatural sex to homosexuality, which was more of a sort of sanitized, you know, kind of scientific sounding.
- 02:18
- Now, just gay, which was a word that we already had, right, that we understood, but now has been co -opted to mean something completely different.
- 02:27
- And the LGBTQ movement has been enormously successful in affecting the minds of leaders within the
- 02:34
- Christian community. So much so that the vast majority of megachurch pastors today have chosen to stay completely silent on the issue of homosexuality rather than risk offending the elites in the culture.
- 02:48
- This is why Joel Osteen only ever talks about homosexuality during interviews.
- 02:54
- And so, I mean, our message, I mean, you know, if you listen to my message, they're about lifting people up. And so it's not I mean,
- 02:59
- I really talk about the homosexuality when we get on the interviews. One, I don't necessarily focus on that. I only talk about that on the interviews.
- 03:05
- And when he is forced to talk about homosexuality, his answers are filled with qualifications.
- 03:11
- Will a gay person be accepted into heaven as you see it? Well, I believe they will. And I don't understand all those issues.
- 03:18
- And so, you know, I try to stick on the issues that I do understand. And I know this. I'm for everybody. I'm not for pushing people down.
- 03:25
- This is why T .D. Jakes compromised when he answered Mark Lamont Hill's question to him about homosexuality.
- 03:32
- And trust me, I've talked to enough LGBT. They are not all the same. Oh, for sure. Any more than all
- 03:37
- Christians. No, no. But how do we first of all, has your thinking evolved on this? Evolved and evolving.
- 03:43
- This is why Carl Lentz of Hillsong Church erroneously states that Jesus rarely talked about morality or social issues.
- 03:52
- Very rarely did Jesus ever talk about morality or social issues. And this is why both
- 03:57
- Chris Pratt and his pastor, Chad Veach, chose to distance themselves from issues like these, even to the point of Pratt saying he's not really a religious person.
- 04:09
- Chris says, look, I'm not really a religious person. I think religion has been oppressive AF for a long time.
- 04:16
- I don't know how I came to be viewed as this voice of religion. But there have also been a number of pastors who have chosen to stand firm upon what scripture clearly teaches and fight back against what the dominant cultural forces are pressuring them to believe and teach.
- 04:31
- One of the supreme tragedies in our day is reclassification of homosexuality as a non -sin, as a normal behavior, as an acceptable behavior.
- 04:41
- Even as a noble behavior, because that's the way you're made, instead of defining it the way the
- 04:47
- Bible defines it, as a perversion from which you need to be rescued. Homosexuality is sin.
- 04:53
- The Bible makes it very clear that it is a sin. Romans chapter one, for example, makes it very clear that homosexuality is a sin, that these are unnatural desires.
- 05:03
- But the culture is changing at a pace nobody could have ever expected. And we were right to be up in arms about that whole movement.
- 05:11
- And in this whole same sex marriage movement. But now that seems tame.
- 05:17
- Amen, somebody. The battle concerning homosexuality in gay marriage actually seems relatively simple and straightforward now, compared with the radical, insane battles we are faced with today.
- 05:30
- Did you ever think that you'd long for the good old days when all we had to fight about was the definition of marriage? Now we're fighting about the definition of a man and the definition of a woman.
- 05:40
- The battles we are fighting today about what is a woman and what is a man have gone from an obscure fringe debate to something that is now completely mainstream and normalized.
- 05:51
- Though many scoffed at the idea that this would happen, those who sounded the warning proved themselves to be completely right.
- 05:59
- Now, people were saying, that's ridiculous. You and I both know that would never happen. You're just being an alarmist.
- 06:06
- And a number of transgender athletes competed at the Olympics this year. Her name is
- 06:11
- Laurel Hubbard. Born a man, she has since transitioned to a female. And she's qualified for New Zealand's Olympic team as a powerlifter.
- 06:20
- What many Christians don't fully realize are the full consequences of what these new ideologies entail.
- 06:27
- So much so that we now have Chris Llewellyn, frontman and lead singer of the well -known
- 06:32
- Christian rock slash worship band, The Rend Collective. Posting things to social media such as, however you feel about the implications for sports, a wider conversation for sure.
- 06:44
- Calling a trans woman a man is hateful, unkind. Don't participate in this kind of hate speech.
- 06:51
- History won't be kind to you. Ideas have consequences, and we're beginning to see those consequences.
- 06:58
- We're now talking about birthing persons. Why are we talking about birthing persons? Because trans women are women and trans men are women.
- 07:07
- And now you have people who will argue like tooth and nail that men can get pregnant. The world we are living in is becoming more and more dangerous for Christians and for anyone who wants to defend children from these ideologies that are destroying countless young lives.
- 07:23
- We now have leading medical organizations calling on the Department of Justice to arrest people who have the supposedly wrong view on these issues.
- 07:33
- Yesterday, the American Academy of Pediatrics, along with the American Medical Association and the Children's Hospital Association, collectively published a letter which was addressed to the
- 07:42
- Department of Justice and which calls for me to be prosecuted and thrown in federal prison.
- 07:48
- That's the world that we're living in, and it has tremendous consequences. The world where, on the one hand, we want to say that there are no distinctions between men and women, and that a man today can be a woman tomorrow and a woman today can be a man.
- 08:01
- In contrast to what the culture is pressuring us to believe today, the truth about human sexuality comes from what
- 08:08
- God has revealed through his word. We need to think about sex from a biblical perspective, not just from an anti -cultural perspective.
- 08:17
- Our approach to human sexuality can't be limited to they do this, therefore we don't do it or they do this, therefore we do that.
- 08:25
- We have to have something more significant. There are a couple of key things we need to understand that go against what the
- 08:31
- LGBTQ movement and the culture is telling us today. First, we are not defined by our sexuality.
- 08:39
- You need to look no further than people who say, my identity is.
- 08:45
- I am homosexual. I am transgender. I am non -binary. I am. That's who
- 08:50
- I am. Well, the text rejects that. Look at the first verse again. Not concerning the matters about which you wrote.
- 08:56
- It's good for a man not to have sexual relationships with a woman. Celibacy is okay. Celibacy is acceptable because sex is not all you are.
- 09:04
- Second, the culture is doing everything it can to tell us that there are absolutely no moral standards concerning sex and human sexuality.
- 09:13
- The second idea that our world puts forth that is rejected by this text is the idea that there are no moral standards regarding sex.
- 09:21
- Our world would say when it comes to sex, if it feels good, do it. The culture wants us to believe that we are whatever we think we are and that whatever we think we are is inherently good and right.
- 09:34
- How do you know that your sexual identity is right? Because it feels right.
- 09:41
- And if it feels right, then it is right. How do you know that you're actually a woman in spite of the fact that biologically every cell in your body is male?
- 09:54
- Because I've always felt like a woman. But the Bible is clear that God created men and women to be distinct from one another and that it is good and right for men to be men and for women to be women.
- 10:08
- How incredibly insulting to the God who made us. We are fearfully and wonderfully made.
- 10:14
- And even when you get to the garden and God makes Adam, the words that are used in the Hebrew basically make it like this with Adam, he took some dirt and made it.
- 10:24
- But Eve, he fashioned not the same. Amen. Hallelujah. Praise the
- 10:30
- Lord. Not the same. The key we need to remember is that the elites in the culture constantly contradict themselves and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
- 10:42
- What they taught in the past constantly contradicts what they are teaching today. And then it's so incredibly ironic because we've been told for decades, right?
- 10:52
- We've been told for decades that all of these things are social constructs, the roles of men and women, the toys that they play with, the things that they like.
- 11:01
- Who are we to say that, you know, girls can't like trucks and football and, you know, boys can't like dolls and whatever, right?
- 11:09
- We've been told that for, we've been told that for decades, but now we're told, I've always known that I was a man trapped in a woman's body.
- 11:17
- Why? Cause I like dolls and pretty things. The exact opposite of what we've been saying for decades.
- 11:24
- The elites in the culture are simply hoping nobody will call them out on their lies and contradictions.
- 11:30
- However, we shouldn't let them get away with this. And what they hope is that either we don't remember or that we're so intimidated that we don't call them on it.
- 11:40
- Well, I remember and I ain't scared. In contrary to what the elites in the culture want us to believe,
- 11:49
- God tells us in first Corinthians chapter seven, that sexual immorality does exist.
- 11:56
- This text speaks clearly to the idea that there is sexual morality and there is sexual immorality.
- 12:01
- There are things that are acceptable and there are things that are unacceptable. And man is not the one who determines what's acceptable and what's unacceptable.
- 12:08
- God determines that because God is the one who created man and he's the one who created sex. There are numerous signs that the world is becoming more and more insane and is standing in direct opposition to God and God's design.
- 12:24
- First is the United Nations celebration of something as destructive as divorce.
- 12:30
- So convinced are they of this abusive power dynamic that Ari Horkman, formerly with the UN denounced the idea that high rates of divorce and out of wedlock births represent a social crisis claiming instead that out of wedlock birth and divorce represent a triumph of human rights over patriarchy.
- 12:47
- Yeah. You heard me out of wedlock births and divorce are good for women because it represents a triumph over the abuse of patriarchy.
- 12:56
- Yes. Better for you to have a baby by yourself and raise a baby by yourself and be left by a man to raise the baby by yourself.
- 13:04
- Then for you to live in a relationship where you'd have to live under the headship of a man. Next is the feminist movements portrayal of the very institution of marriage as being oppressive to women and therefore as being an institution that must be fought against and even destroyed.
- 13:20
- Listen to this from the declaration of feminism in November, 1971, marriage has existed for the benefit of men and has been a legally sanctioned method of control over women.
- 13:32
- We must work to destroy it. The end of the institution of marriage is a necessary condition for the liberation of women.
- 13:39
- Therefore, it is important for us to encourage women to leave their husbands and to not live individually with men.
- 13:45
- In stark contrast to what the United Nations and the feminist movement believes about marriage. The truth is that God designed marriage to be a delight for both men and women.
- 13:57
- Proverbs chapter five, verses 15 through 19 drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well.
- 14:04
- Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets, let them be for yourself alone and not for strangers with you.
- 14:13
- Let your fountain be blessed and rejoice in the wife of your youth. A lovely dear, a graceful doll.
- 14:19
- Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight. Be intoxicated always in her love.
- 14:26
- Amen. This is what the Bible teaches. So if people think, no, no, no. Christianity is rigid and uptight. And it's no, they're not reading the
- 14:32
- Bible. And if Christians are living like this, then we're not reading the Bible. Can't say amen. Y 'all don't say ouch. What the
- 14:38
- LGBTQ movement is pressuring everyone in the culture to believe is destructive and empty and will inevitably lead to misery.
- 14:47
- It's only through recognizing the truth of what God has revealed about sexuality that we can fully and joyfully live the kind of lives that God created us to live, understand that this picture of sex is something that is far more glorious than you and I can ever comprehend.
- 15:06
- Far more satisfying than anything that you and I can make up or derive on our own, far more beautiful than anything that the world is trying to offer us with its counterfeits, because at the end of the day, those counterfeits ultimately leave us empty.
- 15:21
- They leave us wanting, they leave us longing. As Christians, we can't let the world teach our children about human sexuality.
- 15:28
- We need to stand up, fight, and be active in being the ones who are teaching children about what's true and right about human sexuality.
- 15:39
- The world is saying to them, sex is awesome. Sex is glorious. Sex is beautiful, which by the way is all true.
- 15:48
- But what they mean by sex is something completely different than what we're talking about. And then those of us who have the
- 15:53
- Bible, which tells us that sex is glorious, sex is awesome, sex is beautiful, are saying to our children, no, no, no, it's ugly.
- 16:01
- Stay away from it. And the God who created them, created them in a way that they know that's not true.
- 16:06
- And so what do they do? They grow up and they learn that we're lying to them. And they look to the world which speaks about sex in the way that we ought to speak about sex.
- 16:17
- And they end up unduly influenced. No, they should hear from us that it's awesome. It's glorious.
- 16:23
- It's beautiful. But do not awaken love before it's time. Not because it's ugly, but because you don't want to do anything to detract from how awesome and beautiful and glorious it is.
