KJV, King James Version of the Bible, in 1611 was inspired by God.

But if those who believe that listen to this podcast, they may be upset with me.

But the King James Version of the Bible, in the original edition that was begun in 1604 and completed in 1611, contained the 39

Old Testament books and the 27 New Testament books. But for those who believe it was inspired, well, get ready.

You're going to support the Roman Catholic Church. Because yes, they also included the 14 books known as the

Apocrypha. These books were included in the original printing of the

King James Version. The history behind that, we're going to look at tomorrow. When we look at why it is that King James decided to commission a printing of the

English Bible. Because that reason has much to do with why the

King James Version included the Apocrypha. The 1611 edition of the

King James Bible is actually one that we would not be able to read today because its

English is so different. And it also was not the last edition. It went through a major rewrite in 1769.

And if you look at many of your authorized King James Bibles, that's right, because it's not the original

King James, it's been changed quite a bit. Most translations you look at today are back from 1980.
