This is a ministry of striving for eternity. So I was addressing yesterday the fact that there are sometimes people who make the claim that they used to be a

Christian, and they do this to claim that they have some form of authority when speaking on Christianity.

We talked yesterday about the fact that a Christian's ultimate authority is God and the

Bible. However, there is one key verse that I always bring up with someone. If someone says, I used to be a

Christian, I always turn to 1 John 2 .19. And it says, They went out from us, but they were not of us.

For if they had been of us, they would have continued with us.

But they went out, that it might be plain that they all were not of us.

The fact is that if they claim they used to be a Christian, then they believe what the

Bible says. And this verse says that if anyone leaves the Christian faith, quote -unquote faith that is, then it means that they were never of the faith.

They went out from among us to expose they were never one of us.

They were nothing more than hypocrites that stopped pretending. When someone claims they used to be a

Christian, what you know now is that they were once a hypocrite that stopped pretending.

They were someone that said they were a Christian when they were not a Christian. And they went out from among us to show the world and all of us that they were never one of us.
