Welcome to the Rapid Bull, daily edition, where we provide a quick biblical interpretations and applications.
00:12
This is a ministry of striving for eternity. You've heard someone say, well, I used to be a
00:17
Christian. They often say that as a way of claiming some authority, that they know what they're talking about when they disagree with Christianity, and that they used to be one and understand it.
00:29
But to be a Christian means that your ultimate authority is God and His Word, the
00:35
Bible. Therefore, if someone's ultimate authority is God and His Word, they cannot disagree with God and His Word.
00:44
And therefore, when they make this claim, they're really saying that they said that their ultimate authority was
00:50
God and His Word, but realistically, we end up seeing that God was not their ultimate authority.
00:57
They were their ultimate authority. They reasoned themselves out of believing that they were
01:03
Christians, and that now they're saying that they're no longer Christian, but they used to be.
01:10
However, if they used to be a Christian, then their ultimate authority would have been God and the
01:15
Bible, and they couldn't have been convinced unless God and the Bible said otherwise.
01:21
And God and the Bible does not say otherwise. Now what we're going to look at tomorrow is that there is one key verse in Scripture that anytime someone comes to you and says,
01:33
I used to be a Christian, trying to claim some authority and claim that they know what they're talking about, that you can use to prove,
01:41
I mean, totally demolish their argument. There's one verse, a key verse, that you need to know.
01:48
So you want to stay tuned for tomorrow to find that verse. This podcast is part of the
01:53
Striving for Eternity ministry. For more content or to request a speaker or seminar to your church, go to strivingforeternity .org.
