- 00:04
- Hi guys, welcome to this special broadcast of Apologia Studios and End Abortion Now.
- 00:11
- We are in front of the state capitol in Baton Rouge in Louisiana. I'm here with Zach Conover.
- 00:18
- He is the director of communications for End Abortion Now. I'm Pastor Jeff. We're standing outside the capitol because big things are happening right now.
- 00:26
- People honking as they go by. You can't see it right now, but behind you is a Jumbotron that we rented that has a huge screen.
- 00:33
- It's facing all the cars and traffic passing by. It is an awful scene because we're playing the pictures and the videos of the babies who were murdered in Washington D .C.
- 00:46
- and also playing an invitation video to come to the rally that we're having here at the state capitol on the 30th of this month at 10 a .m.
- 00:54
- So if you are in Louisiana, anywhere, or surrounding states, we want to plead with you to come and join with us on April 30th, 10 a .m.
- 01:03
- right here in Baton Rouge at the state capitol. We're holding a rally for our bill. The bill is
- 01:08
- HB 813. It is in the legislature now.
- 01:16
- It's not hopeful. It's in right now. HB 813 is the abolition of abortion in this state.
- 01:22
- It would give all human beings equal protection from the moment of conception that would establish justice for the preborn in the state of Louisiana.
- 01:30
- So we have good news. Not only is the bill in, but the Louisiana conservative caucus approved abolition just last week.
- 01:41
- Yeah. Was it just last week? They approved abolition, the abolition of abortion, and our bill is right there. So we have the legislators that we need in Louisiana to pass our bill to provide equal protection for all humans from conception.
- 01:55
- It's the abolition of abortion in Louisiana, HB 813. The Louisiana conservative caucus approved abolition as a move forward for the legislators.
- 02:07
- So we are going to get a hearing for our bill. We're waiting for word on when the hearing is. The last we heard is probably the week of the 25th, which is next week.
- 02:16
- We are going to testify at that hearing, Lord willing, but our plan is to come testify at the hearing as well. So we may be here all of next week.
- 02:23
- We're not sure. They're going to give our bill a hearing and we have our rally on the 30th. So I want to ask you truly from the heart, if you desire justice for the pre -born, if you truly want to see this injustice ended in our nation and in this state, we need you to help.
- 02:45
- We need you to help. You know, I was talking to Zach and the team about the fact that we always want to do better. We always want to be growing and saying, okay, you know, where are we falling off?
- 02:54
- What do we need? And what we recognize that over the last couple of years, as we've gotten bills into various states of equal protection, the one thing that we do need is we need the church, the people of God in that state that we're working in to stand together, to work together, to work the ground, to speak the truth to the legislators, to talk to their churches and their communities, their neighbors about what's happening, about encouraging the legislators of that state to pass the bill.
- 03:24
- So getting the bill in is one thing, getting it heard is another, getting it passed is another.
- 03:31
- And the one thing that we want to do is come alongside churches and encourage you and support you and your work and your state to end it in your state.
- 03:40
- So we've got the bill in, it's getting a hearing. We got the approval of the Louisiana caucus, and now we need
- 03:47
- Christians in the state of Louisiana to stand up, speak to your pastors, talk to your congregations, tell them what's happening.
- 03:55
- Come to the rally, 10 a .m., April 30th, right here in Baton Rouge. Come and show support.
- 04:01
- Show these legislators, show them that they have the support of Christians in their state to once and for all end the injustice in this state.
- 04:09
- So we need you to join us. If you're in this state, April 30th at 10 a .m.,
- 04:15
- meet us here. We're going to be here. We're going to be here for this rally, for the bill that's already in. You don't need to go to abortion mills anymore.
- 04:22
- I was just talking to a lovely sister in Christ who's feeling what we all feel, going to the abortion mills, feeling the discouragement of where's the church, all that stuff, feeling the discouragement of all these babies being led to the slaughter.
- 04:35
- She's feeling it. And the question is like, where's the church? And she wants to, you know, how do we get the churches more involved?
- 04:41
- You know what the good news is, is right now in the state of Louisiana, we can end it so you don't have to stand there anymore.
- 04:47
- How about that? Yeah. Praise God. How about that? No more worrying about going to the abortion mill anymore because it's ended.
- 04:55
- Justice will be established by God's civil magistrate to say that it's criminal, it's not allowed, it's abolished in this state.
- 05:03
- And so let's focus our efforts right now on a bill like this and a state like this to say, well, let's go ahead and just end it.
- 05:11
- Let's end it. We can finally shake off all of us together, the cobwebs of apathy and indifference towards this and that's really highlighting what we're doing here today.
- 05:21
- This is a form and an extension of the prophetic ministry of End Abortion Now.
- 05:26
- We need to expose the unfruitful works of darkness. There comes a time when good men can no longer afford to be indifferent towards the immoral actions of their government.
- 05:37
- And that time is now. And so that's why we're here today. You see this all throughout the
- 05:42
- Old Testament, the New Testament, the prophets themselves. You take, for example, the prophet Ezekiel in chapter 22,
- 05:51
- God speaking through him says, will you judge? Will you judge, O son of man, the bloody city?
- 05:57
- Then declare to her her abominations. Show to her the innocent blood that's being shed in her midst.
- 06:03
- And so all of these things taken together, the millwork by Christians, the talking to their legislatures, the calling of the heads of these committees that the bills are in right now that we have been promised we'll get a hearing, all of these things together, the prophetic ministry, the visual representation of what this is, it needs to continue.
- 06:24
- It can't stop just because we have momentum right now. We have tremendous momentum here, more momentum than I think we've ever had anywhere else in any state.
- 06:34
- But if you're connected to our network, you've seen, you know, we sent out a notice for you guys to contact the heads of these committees and don't stop doing that just because they've given us the word that they will.
- 06:46
- We need to stay on top of them and make sure that they follow through and do the right thing. One thing
- 06:51
- I've noticed is that the people here are largely in support of what we're doing. Pro -life all the way.
- 06:56
- They're driving by the grossest, most horrific images imaginable.
- 07:02
- And they're giving us thumbs up, they're honking their horns, they're encouraging. That's something you didn't see in Denver.
- 07:09
- No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I think the main issue here is, okay,
- 07:15
- I'm glad we're in agreement on this. I'm glad we're in agreement on how heinous it is and we're working to do away with it.
- 07:22
- So now let's put the nail in the coffin and be consistent when it comes to justice, when it comes to protecting all these children, when it comes to telling the federal government that they have no right to legislate from the bench and determine what's going to happen in our states.
- 07:40
- This is the time for that right now. Right. And what we're saying right now, I want everyone to understand, is rooted in the word of God.
- 07:47
- I know, I'll just confess it. This gets tiring.
- 07:54
- It's exhausting hearing about it. It's awful looking at these pictures. So sometimes we may feel very tempted to simply see like a broadcast like this and say,
- 08:05
- I'm behind you guys, I support you guys, but I just don't want to bother with this right now. I don't want to hear about this right now.
- 08:10
- Well, the reason why we have to keep talking about it and we keep plugging away at this and we keep laboring is because it's not over yet.
- 08:19
- It's still an injustice. Upwards of 3 ,000 babies are murdered every day in our nation. It's still happening.
- 08:25
- It's happening every single day. It's not over yet. And that will be 7 ,000 in Louisiana this year.
- 08:30
- That's right. And so God commands us to love our neighbors. These pre -born human beings are our neighbors.
- 08:36
- God commands us to hold them back from the slaughter. That's a word from God. That's what we must do as Christians. God tells us in his word that he rejects the worship of his people when they sit there with injustice all around them.
- 08:49
- He tells them to cease to do evil, to learn to do good, to correct oppression. That's a command of God when his people are involved in all kinds of religious activities, all kinds of religious worship.
- 09:01
- They're doing all the things. He says, I don't want any of it. It's become a burden to him. And he says, cease to do evil, learn to do good, correct oppression.
- 09:09
- He says, bring justice to the fatherless. That's what this is about. So when someone says, I just want to be about the gospel in my life.
- 09:16
- I want to be about the gospel. I want to serve Christ and preach Christ. This is an area. It's one.
- 09:22
- Admittedly, there are so many others. This is one area where we need to preach Christ. And I want to say, we've said it a lot, that over 50 years or so of Roe versus Wade, what's happening right now in states where there's abolition bills, criminalization bills, equal protection bills, that's coming from the church of Jesus Christ.
- 09:43
- It's coming from the church. It's coming from churches. Apparently God does have something to say to the political realm.
- 09:49
- Right. And so this movement forward that's actually getting closer and closer to the ending of it is not taking place through the major corporations that are the pro -life establishment and industry.
- 10:01
- It's taking place through the church. It's taking place in the church, from the church, in rather small numbers in terms of comparison towards the pro -life establishment and industry.
- 10:12
- It's coming from the church. A bill of abolition in the Louisiana legislature that's scheduled for a hearing, that's going to be heard, that could abolish it in the state, that's coming from the church of Jesus Christ.
- 10:24
- So someone says like, oh, you know, I agree with you guys, I just want to, I want to think about something else. Well, how about we think about something else when this injustice is over?
- 10:32
- How about we do that? How about we say, I'm going to serve Christ, I'm going to love these children, I'm going to give towards them my time, my talent, my money,
- 10:41
- I'm going to do it until it's over. Right now you can do that. If you go to endabortionnow .com, you can get free training and free resources for your church to go save lives at the mill in your state.
- 10:50
- You can also support what we're doing right now by contacting the legislature in this state and telling these legislators, do your duty before God, do your duty before God.
- 11:03
- Stop the murder of these innocent children. Approve this bill. Give it a yes. HBA 13,
- 11:10
- HBA 13 will end abortion criminally in the state of Louisiana.
- 11:15
- And so we need you. We need your support. We need the churches in the states that we're working in to gather together and to fight and to speak the truth.
- 11:26
- And you need to apply pressure. Give it all you've got. I would say to those of you guys who do mill work and save lives at the mill, you need to dedicate some of your time to this as well.
- 11:38
- I mean if you think about it, if we had 10 ,000 Christians all just spend 20 minutes making phone calls to the legislators in Louisiana, that would be an epic moment that would show these legislators they can do the right thing.
- 11:52
- They can do the right thing. And so again, if you're just getting on a live stream, I'm Pastor Jeff Durbin with End Abortion Now.
- 11:58
- This is Zach Conover, our Director of Communications. We're at the Louisiana State Capitol, Baton Rouge. We have a rally on the 30th at 10 a .m.
- 12:07
- right here at this location. We got a bill in right now that would abolish abortion. It's supposed to get a hearing. Abolition was approved by the
- 12:14
- Louisiana Conservative Caucus. That is a very big move and a very big deal. Behind the cameras right now is a big jumbotron with a screen playing images and videos of the murdered children in D .C.
- 12:26
- and pointing people towards the bill, HB 813. We've been in the city all morning.
- 12:32
- We had the jumbotron at a different location earlier while traffic was going by, and now we're here making sure people know what's going on in this state.
- 12:41
- Yeah. If maybe you want to give out specifics too about the committees and who they need to contact.
- 12:46
- So the committees themselves, there's actually two bills that we're working on. One is the
- 12:52
- Abolition of Abortion in Louisiana Act, HB 813, and then there is HB 344, which is the
- 13:00
- Defy Roe bill. And both bills actually have clauses in there.
- 13:06
- The central thrust of them is to defy Roe versus Wade. It essentially says that when abortion is outlawed and if or when the federal government decides to try to intervene and violate the
- 13:19
- Tenth Amendment of the Constitution and the law of God and say that this state must continue to operate in killing babies and children, that states like Louisiana have the not only right but duty before God to defy that, to not show up, to not give any credence whatsoever to an immoral court opinion.
- 13:41
- And so if you've heard the basis for this before, you understand that the doctrine of the lesser magistrates was actually instrumental in giving us the
- 13:51
- Reformation. It was instrumental throughout church history. It's been instrumental during the time of America's founding.
- 13:59
- There are numerous examples that you could point to, but it's essentially this. Acts 529, we must obey
- 14:05
- God rather than men. So when men violate the Constitution and violate the law of God, Christians especially, but all men have the duty to not follow along into disobedience to God and His law.
- 14:21
- So very simply, the doctrine is this. When the higher ranking civil authority issues immoral law, policy, or court opinion, the lesser ranking magistrate or authority or follow along down the line, whoever is interposing on behalf of the pre -born, not only has the right but the duty to resist that.
- 14:43
- And so that's what both of these bills have in them, the HB 813 and HB 344 are both testifying to the federal government that this is our state, you can't tell us to kill babies, and that provides an opportunity really to instruct everyone here as to what's going on, to teach.
- 15:01
- And that's I think something that we've missed in all of this. Scripture says that the law is a teacher. It's a tutor that leads us to Christ.
- 15:09
- What these magistrates are doing, the office that they're occupying right now, and this is the way it was always intended to be, is to get men to consider the state of their eternal destiny.
- 15:20
- Because they're the ones that bear the sword of justice against the evildoer. There's a harmony and a cohesion here between justice and mercy.
- 15:31
- Justice is performed by the state, mercy is offered by the church, and we are to preach the gospel of the kingdom, this good news, to the magistrate in accordance with obedience to King Jesus so that they execute justice.
- 15:47
- And so that they make men consider matters of eternity and preserving innocent life.
- 15:53
- So that's our goal here with these two bills, to instruct. The law is a tutor, a teacher unfortunately.
- 16:00
- The past five decades have seen us teaching the culture the wrong things when it comes to this issue.
- 16:07
- So whether you're talking about pro -life laws that dictate where, when, how, and who can kill the baby, perform the abortion, these exceptions, yes this group of people will be protected, but no not this group of people will be protected.
- 16:20
- Yes we're going to exempt this person from prosecution, and we're going to sentence the innocent to death.
- 16:25
- We have been teaching and discipling the culture as to what's accepted when it comes to this issue.
- 16:32
- So this opportunity to be before our magistrates and in front of other Christians is the opportunity to have the law fulfill its proper function in society and to instruct people as to what is righteous and what is just before God.
- 16:47
- So very simply it's this, life begins at conception, therefore protection must.
- 16:53
- There can't be any exceptions to this, and all children, born, unborn, all human beings have to be protected equally.
- 17:03
- Any and all previous pro -life or unjust laws that actually sanction the killing of pre -born children have to be done away with.
- 17:12
- They are void and of no effect, and likewise so is any attempt by the federal courts to override the efforts of a state to protect its citizens.
- 17:21
- All of those elements are present in these bills, and that's why we stand behind them, and that's why this is what we're proclaiming.
- 17:27
- It has to be as Christians. So again, go to endabortionnow .com to get signed up with your church to get the free training, free resources.
- 17:36
- Be here April 30th at 10am at the state capitol here in Baton Rouge. That's where our rally is, that's what time it is,
- 17:44
- HB 813 is the bill that's in right now. If you have any desire to see abortion abolished,
- 17:53
- I am asking you, partner with us. Be a part of this with us as the church.
- 17:59
- This isn't our thing. We are just your brothers in Christ. We are trying to serve the King of Kings. We're trying to establish justice, but we need the body of Christ.
- 18:08
- And so join us. Come to the rally. 10am on the 30th. Make a drive of it. Run a bus.
- 18:14
- Bring your church. Do what you have to do. And if you care at all about establishing justice for the pre -born, you have a bill right now in your state that would end it and establish justice, equal protection.
- 18:27
- It's in right now. Not potentially, not in theory. It's in. And so we're supposed to be getting a hearing.
- 18:34
- If you want to see it ended in this state, we are dependent upon you to make it, make it happen.
- 18:40
- I don't want to forget this. What you can do right now, a lot of you know this, is contact Tony Bacala, who is the vice chair of the
- 18:48
- Criminal Justice Committee. That's where the bill resides. He's the one that's promised to give it the hearing that we need.
- 18:54
- So look him up, contact him, encourage him to continue to do the right thing and not buckle under any pressure.
- 19:01
- Greg Miller is the other representative that's over the different committee with HB 344 in it.
- 19:08
- Contact those two men. Greg Miller and Tony Bacala are the men that you need to reach out to to continue to exhort them to justice.
- 19:17
- And then the meeting tonight, too. Do we want to... Yeah, yeah. In case there's anyone local watching. We came into town, quick trip.
- 19:23
- It's about to get a hearing. That's what we were told. And so we wanted to come here to make sure we let everyone in Louisiana know that it was happening.
- 19:29
- We want to partner with everyone in Louisiana who is a believer, who believes this needs to be about the gospel and we need to establish justice.
- 19:36
- So we have a meeting. We've called together 6 p .m. tonight in Baton Rouge. The name is the...
- 19:43
- Grace Fellowship Bible Church, I believe. Grace. Well, we'll get that right here in a second. We don't want to send anybody to the wrong spot.
- 19:49
- 6 p .m. We're just... We're going to gather together. It's not a conference. We are just meeting together as brothers and sisters to pray and to get everybody here who can serve to make this a reality.
- 20:03
- Come. Be a part of this. We need you. And so 6 p .m. tonight, we're going to be doing this meeting.
- 20:09
- Grace Bible Fellowship. It was. Grace Bible Fellowship in Baton Rouge tonight. There is limited space, but if we had a thousand people show up, we'll meet out on the sidewalk.
- 20:18
- I don't care. We're just gathering tonight to say, let's pray and let's work together as believers in this state to make sure these legislators know that they'll have your support and let them know that they have a duty before God to protect these children.
- 20:33
- That is what they're supposed to do. That is their specific role under God. And we need to encourage them to be courageous.
- 20:39
- But we need your hand in our hand. We have got to do this together, brothers and sisters.
- 20:45
- We have to. And so we need you. So don't watch this and say, somebody else has got that. I'm sure someone's going to take care of that.
- 20:51
- Nope. That's what everybody thinks. That's what everybody thinks. Do you know what's amazing? Is we had a bill of equal protection go into Texas.
- 20:59
- Yeah. Texas, brothers and sisters, right? Texas. So we should win, right?
- 21:06
- That rally, can we use the word pathetic? Was pathetic in terms of the numbers of people who were there to support a bill that would criminalize abortion in Texas.
- 21:18
- Big red state, right? Red state, Texas, pro -life. Where was everybody? In Texas.
- 21:24
- This is not me complaining. This is me demonstrating we need you. In Austin, we had the rally.
- 21:30
- We had the bill. But the numbers of people we had show up from churches, there was almost nobody there.
- 21:37
- So we need you. Because everybody thinks somebody else has got that. We need you to show up with your feet, show up with your mouths, show up.
- 21:44
- Let these legislators know that they have the support of the church in this state. You'll stand behind them.
- 21:50
- Do the right thing. They need that. They need that encouragement. They need to be courageous. And so they need the church to stand behind them.
- 21:56
- So, 30th, 10am, Baton Rouge, rally, tonight, 6pm,
- 22:02
- Grace Bible Fellowship, Baton Rouge. Make sure you contact the legislators in this state,
