What is the Gospel?

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10

God sent Jesus into the world to be the propitiation for our sins.
00:12
To put it plainly, that means that Jesus died to satisfy the wrath of God.
00:21
God is holy and just. Mankind is sinful and unjust. Because God is holy and just,
00:27
He must punish sin. And He did. That's what this is all about.
00:40
So Jesus died to satisfy the wrath of God. God sent
00:46
His only begotten Son into the world to die as a sacrifice.
00:51
To make atonement or to propitiate the wrath of God against sinners.
00:57
That's the gospel. So what happened? God is too holy to look at sin.
01:03
He could not bear to look at that concentrated monumental condensation of evil.
01:10
So He averted His eyes from His Son. The light of His countenance was turned off.
01:20
All blessedness was removed from His Son whom
01:25
He loved. And in its place was the full measure of the divine curse.
01:34
That's what Jesus did for you. God is love.
