This is a ministry of striving for eternity. We saw in yesterday's episode that Mark Chapter 12, the

Jews are challenging Jesus, and they're challenging Him about taxes. What was interesting was that the

Pharisees and Herodians, two groups that didn't get along, got together when it comes to Jesus. Well, now we see another group, the

Sadducees, who didn't get along with the Pharisees either. None of these three groups get along, but they do when they want to try to trap

Jesus. They want to discredit Jesus because He's exposing that they are wrong.

People don't like that, so what they do is they focus on trying to trap or challenge or discredit the person telling the truth.

That's exactly what we have here. So now we have a new challenge that the Sadducees come up with over the issue of the

Resurrection. The Sadducees did not believe that there was a resurrection, but the Pharisees did, and they had this question they would always ask.

Okay, so you have a guy, he has a wife, he dies, the wife marries the brother, he dies, and so on and so on, has all seven, and the question is, in the eternal life, in the next life, whose wife will she be?

The first son, the seventh son, one of the other sons, which of these brothers is she really married to?

And the issue that Jesus is trying to trap him with is the difference between whether there is a resurrection or not.

The Pharisees and Sadducees, the Pharisees couldn't answer this question. It was a struggle for them. Jesus could answer it easily because He knew something about heaven that they did not.

And His answer is, there is no marriage there. They're not given in marriage, but we're like the angels.

So the question was illogical. They didn't know that, but because He's God, He did. This podcast is part of the
