california um that's always a good thing uh sandeep uh welcome back man thank you yeah so just uh real quickly the real cliff notes uh we have some other content people can check out that tells your whole testimony uh you are a former uh hindu uh you grew up in india you're part of the highest caste system what was the caste system you're part of what part of india i mean uh uh north from the northeast part uh my ancestors they belong from yupi uttar pradesh not yeah and very much uh so that you came out of hinduism you came to christ out of hinduism you have a very unique perspective you live over in in jersey last couple years and in the new jersey area you grew up in india so i think in many ways you have probably a very unique perspective as someone who's been on the other side being a true believer in everything when it comes to reincarnation the different beliefs within hinduism the hindu scriptures you have quite a few in front of you we are going to be analyzing just some clips there's this current president running for president united current candidate running as a republican for president of the united states and while we don't get into politics that much on our platform it's kind of a unique conversation because he is running for president and what's his name again how do you pronounce his name vivek ramaswamy vivek ramaswamy okay i remember just it was interesting because i watched one of the recent primary republican primary debates and he kind of stuck out to me he seemed very acute articulate very intelligent very well spoken and what we're going to do is that i think that you know you have a very unique perspective of all of this our good friend ali best stuckey she had him on recently he was really kind of talking about are his values he's trying to appeal to kind of the modern american ideal of god family all that all that good stuff and i think ali has some good questions and i was very intrigued by his response and i thought since we're in here recording a bunch of content we'll do a quick popcorn episode of sorts just kind of getting your thoughts on some of his views and some of his beliefs so ali best stuckey is a good friend of ours we've been on relatable a couple of times so this is a recent episode of relatable we're going to give some brief commentary on andrew go ahead and let's play the clip i want to talk about your world view you mentioned a lot of things obviously that we care a lot about and talk a lot about on this show this is a christian show obviously in the republican party conservative movement you've got a lot of christians and there is you know christianity in the fabric of our nation that really founded the ideals upon which were established you are not a christian and yet you share a lot of the same principles that we do like where does that come from when you go back to why do i believe what i believe about what this country is supposed to look like where rights come from where right and wrong comes from where do you get that where equality comes from for that matter it didn't start in some piece of paper it starts because we're equal in the eyes of god we're equal in the eyes of each other because of that so it's interesting i did go to catholic high school i that was my first exposure and what ended up being a deep study of the bible but it actually started much earlier than that that's the that's the probably technical answer the real answer is the family i was raised in raised me in a tradition that it so happens shares those same values including overlapping with the same christian values that this nation is founded on duty sacrifice truth being grounded in the love of the family a belief that we are equal you know the way my parents taught me growing up in our tradition was we're all equal because god resides in each of us i think in the judeo -christian founding of this nation we say the same thing we're equal in the eyes of each other because we're equal in the eyes of god that we have duties that god put us here for a purpose for a reason and we are here to realize that purpose that there is a single truth and so for me when i even i would say in catholic school read the bible for the first time it didn't feel like i was reading it for the first time and i'm not running to be a pastor i would not be qualified to be a pastor of a church but in terms of leading this country as commander in chief as the next president i do share those values so deeply that i'm also in a position as a young person as a millennial as a first generation american and yes as somebody who's hindu not christian to stand staunchly for religious liberty in this country to stand staunchly and unapologetically for the values that this country was founded on and the truth is nobody's going to accuse me of being a christian nationalist or a white nationalist as i do it in many ways i am at liberty as a member of a generation of first millennial ever to run for president as a republican to do things with greater latitude and conviction than maybe even other politicians who are afraid of the political consequences may not be able to take on all right there's the clip right there and sandeep i i saw your head shaking at a few points that uh he was making i'm sure this is important to understand i want people to understand this so he was using certain words and phrases that christians would resonate with especially living the united states of america duty purpose equality equal but just like uh with the lds individual you can use the same words but have very different definitions and that's where things can get extremely confusing so sandeep what what did you think about what he was saying there where was he kind of blurring the lines and uh what was he really saying uh so vivek ramaswamy uh so let's study on this guy who is this guy vivek ramaswamy the ramaswamy last name again shows that he belongs from the higher caste the brahmins and vivek has many times he has said publicly that he is a proud hindu he is a vegetarian too i have read that so it shows that he really follows what hinduism teaches the modern hinduism teaches basically he goes to temple for sure but again what vivek is claiming that we are all made in the equal image of god you know and he says he went to the catholic school that doesn't change anything i mean it doesn't make you a christian if you're going to a catholic school but when vivek says that uh uh everyone is made in the equal image of god and he grew up with that ideology from his parents but here is the question when vivek goes to the temple when vivek says he is a proud hindu does vivek know any scriptures that's the question is vivek saying that what hinduism actually says does the rig veda like i told before mandala 10 which says that from vishnu's mouth came the brahmins the higher caste and from his feet came the shudras the lowermost caste and uh the mouth is always seen as the in hinduism the most purest of all uh one of the scripture which backs up that is manusmriti we uh which is also a hindu scripture it says in mouth is the most purest of all uh body parts so uh will does vivek's hinduisms will see a shudra uh in in the equal position to learn what hinduism is the best place to learn it from is india you know if anyone takes a trip to india you would see not a brahmin uh cleaning the sewage uh you know the the the drains or the the sewage all the dirty jobs you don't see a brahmin you see a shudra doing it you see dead bodies are being burned by you know the the shudras you know doing it the brahmin doesn't do it and vivek is very clever i i have uh i uh i have watched many of his videos even in the presidential uh the debate the the republican presidential debate he quotes god a lot and every time he says god uh you know let us put our faith trust in god back you know but which god are you talking about you know in kurma in kurma puran uh over there it says that uh literally uh 33 there are 33 million uh number of gods in in the sanskrit term it's called koti 33 karo koti so koti means millions so vivek are you talking about uh 33 million number of gods or you're talking about one uh god that is jesus and yeah or are you talking about krishna or vishnu yeah uh and and also one more thing is uh vivek can make up stuff you know and like um you know i believe in the judeo -christian worldview also but uh the judeo -christian worldview gives you freedom like i was telling before when i came to the west first i saw hindus having um like equal freedom like what christians you know have but the same thing can we do we see the same picture in india like i said there are anti -conversion laws anyone uh research this on google you will see there are anti -conversion laws in india like in uttar pradesh uh bihar chattisgarh these are the states where it has anti -conversion law do we have it in the united states we don't have it we don't have a that's called freedom so vivek when you if you if vivek becomes president my first question is will vivek take the oath in on the bible which almost all presidents have taken oath keeping their hand on the bible opening the book of uh the deuteronomy uh so or vivek will take oath on the bhagavad -gita which is seen as a national book in india everyone who becomes uh official like official member oh in india narendra modi is the prime minister in india he took oath by keeping his hand on on the vedas on the bhagavad -gita yeah so will vivek do that or will vivek keep his hand on the or vivek might be more clever you know he will bring the way the bhagavad -gita and also the bible you know and christians will think okay the you at least he has the bible but here is the thing there's a huge difference in the world view you know this caste system you know and and vivek is a vegetarian so he it seems like he's a he's a good hindu you know a lot of harikrishnas uh would like that because harikrishnas are all vegetarian you remember when we were talking with that a person we met in the krishnan temple he said he's a vegetarian yes meat is like something you just can't have but again like in manusmriti it's like you have to have meat you don't have meat you are cursed and he's kind as he's kind enough to give us two uh bananas yeah yeah he gave us bananas that was offering yeah yeah question for you so he said that we share values in terms of even duty uh so can you can you like help us think through that like when i think of duty with regards to hinduism i think you've mentioned it in uh uh other episodes that we have done with you but uh general arjuna i'm probably butchering the name but he had a duty to shiva right and that was to kill his relatives who were on the opposite battlefield because these people could be reincarnated one day anyways right uh that his duty was to uh god was that is i can't remember what the word is in hinduism is it dharma or is it dharma yes that's your dharma yeah yeah that's your dharma so that was his duty to that god right to shiva was murder your relatives because you're fighting in a war against them don't worry they'll be reincarnated so duty with regards to christianity is different though right because it's a different god do we even share do christians share the same dharma as the hindu just because we use the same word doesn't mean the same thing right right right uh uh first thing is maybe ramaswamy grew up in the united states you know so it's a judeo -christian worldview ramaswamy thinks that you know hinduism and christianity are all same you know in many of his clips here like in when he's speaking he says that it's the same thing we are one and and it's the same concept hindu hindus believe the god resides within us and christians also think that we are here for a purpose that's a whole different thing i mean christians as christians uh we don't think that we are god but in hindu scripture or if any hindu gurus if you ask they say that when you meditate uh you know or when you do kundalini uh yoga you know uh when you reach to the highest uh position when you reach to the highest state you reach to the state of moksha that's the ultimate reality you get to know that's the brahman you get to know brahman and again who is the brahman the scripture tells i am that brahman aham brahmasmi there is a sanskrit that's a sanskrit term aham means i i am that brahman that comes straight out of the chandogya upanishad which says that i am that brahman tat tvam asi these are sanskrit terms straight comes out from the hindu scriptures which says that uh that that i am i am that you know so uh ramaswami is just fooling everyone by saying that uh it's all same it's not not the same and like you were saying uh that arjuna had a duty absolutely there are duties for all the castes the priestly caste the duty is in the bhagavad gita even the duties are given for the brahmins the duty is to be priest to read the vedas uh shudra cannot read the veda okay many will say no no no sandip you you are just lying shudra everyone can read vedas you know ramaswami might say no everyone has the equal right is that the case let's open gautama dharma sutra it's one of the again a very prominent hindu scripture where it says even if a shudra tries to listen the vedas or tries to chant the vedas or tries to do a ritual a hot molten lead should be put into the ear of a shudra his tongue should be cut off if he tries to chant the vedas so vedas can only be chanted by the brahmins by ramaswami you know a kshatriya the duty is to fight to defend the faith to defend the religion that's called dharma arjuna's dharma was to fight the war to to establish truth and and krishna was just uh repeatedly telling arjuna you have to do this you have to fight this war and and arjuna was just not ready he had a forgiving heart and he wanted to forgive his relatives because he knew these faces yeah so in as uh vivek was uh giving that answer on that episode of relatable i noticed you're flipping through the bhagavad -gita yeah what were you flipping to uh i was i was flipping through the bhagavad -gita i was uh going through this uh uh book a number nine uh book number nine verse 20 it says that um how hopeless hinduism is you know no matter how yoga how much yoga or meditation you do uh you just come back to this earth the samsara cycle the karmic cycle never ends is just so hopeless you know yeah i'll just quickly read this verse you know uh that this is from book nine bhagavad -gita it's a part of mahabharata the epic mahabharata nine nine twenty it says those who study the vedas and drink the soma juice uh if you remember i was talking about the soma juice in ancient india they used to drink this kind of it's a hallucinogen uh drink where the gurus or the uh the sages they used to drink this to get high you know so they think that they they go to a different state so it says those who study the vedas and drink the soma juice seeking the heavenly planets worship me krishna is saying this indirectly purified of sinful reaction take they take birth on the pious heavenly planet of indra where they enjoy godly delights but here's the next verse it says in 9 22 it says when they have thus enjoyed the vast heavenly sense of pleasure and the results of their pious activities have exhausted they return to this mortal planet again thus those who seek sense enjoyment by adhering to the principles of the three vedas achieve only repeated birth and death that's it you just take birth and you die and again that goes on and and it never ends in in also book uh two in the book too also it says that as we change our clothes that's how human life is you change your clothes like you die you take birth you know so ramaswami uh might say all are same you know we have the same world view all are made in the equal image of god but he's a brahmin so he's for sure i believe he's very proud of his hindu faith you know he has to be proud you're a brahmin you know that's a blessing from the gods you know so you know brahmins can be equally worshiped as god actually many hindu scriptures says that even uh so he's proud and that's why he says that but will ramaswami allow a shudra you know or will ramaswami touch a feet of a shudra you know or will wash the feet like how jesus did you know washing the feet of the disciples you know he being the leader he being god you know and and he's washing the feet of his disciples will will ramaswami do that i don't think so if he goes back to india will that be allowed yeah maybe in america but not in india what's up everybody it's the super sleuth
