INSTANT REGRET: They Quote Jesus, then Got Exposed!

Okay, sure, just a standard radical left billboard promoting the ending of pre -born life, right?

But take a look at this small text down here. Love your neighbor as yourself.

There is no greater commandment than these. Mark 12, 31. Paid for by Newsom for California Governor 2022.

So, this billboard was not only created by Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, but it also tries to quote

Jesus to support acts of unbelievable evil. These billboards are utterly twisted, blasphemous, and evil.

And because of how absolutely unbelievable they are, California pastor John MacArthur issued a strong response, writing an open letter to Gavin Newsom and delivering a video message regarding Newsom and his billboards.

MacArthur states something that should be obvious to all Christians living in Western nations by now, that Western culture is clearly experiencing the judgment of God.

So, we're watching a culture that is under divine judgment. And you can think about that in terms of a culture, or you can realize that the people who defy

God in the culture are under divine judgment. Then, MacArthur brings up Gavin Newsom as a prime example of God's judgment upon this nation.

Governor Gavin Newsom, who has decided that he is going to lead the nation in providing the slaughter of the children that God creates in the womb, has postured himself as if he were

Herod. It has become abundantly clear that Newsom stands for everything that is anti -God and anti -Christian.

I just want to share and add my voice, the voice of quite literally tens of millions, hundreds of millions of Americans, and express my outrage about the decision the

Supreme Court appears to have made as it relates to rolling back our constitutional rights. The rights have been well established and affirmed over and over again for close to half a century.

Although Newsom quoted Jesus in his billboards, MacArthur is right to be concerned about the state of Newsom's soul before the holy and righteous

God of the universe. And I am deeply concerned for the jeopardy of his eternal soul. This actually isn't the first time that MacArthur has communicated with Newsom.

I have talked to him in the past. I would just like to ask the mayor as a practicing Catholic, do you believe the

Bible is the word of God? Look, Pastor, I'm not going to get in a theological debate with you. No, that's not a theological debate.

That's just a straight question. Do you believe the Bible is the authoritative word of God? Yeah, with respect,

I guess I do. Now the response. Well, then the Bible says when God created man, he said, one man, one woman cleaved together for life.

That's a family. Jesus in the New Testament reaffirms that. All the writers of the Old and the New Testament affirm it.

Then MacArthur brings up the insanity of Newsom's recent billboard campaign regarding the evil of ending pre -born life.

But a line was crossed this week that really, really gripped my heart. He began putting up billboards all across America, advertising the website in California that you can connect to if you want to have an abortion.

And of course, what makes these billboards particularly twisted and evil is that they use the words of Jesus to promote this evil.

This is a blatant, unashamed mockery of Jesus Christ and Christianity. He had the terrifying audacity to use the words of Jesus to support the slaughter of the ones that he creates in the womb.

But MacArthur isn't responding to Newsom's blasphemy because he hates Newsom.

On the contrary, MacArthur expresses love and concern for Newsom's soul since it is clear that Newsom has put himself firmly against God and his moral law.

The jeopardy of his soul is evident. I say this because my heart is grieved that Christ should be so dishonored.

Billboards across the country with the words of Jesus trying to support abortion. MacArthur's ultimate message to Newsom and his followers is that they are sinners who need salvation just like everyone else and that God is a gracious God who can forgive all sin no matter how heinous.

We want the governor and all who follow him and all who reject the Lord to know that no matter what they have done, he offers salvation.

He offers salvation. MacArthur calls upon Christians within the church to respond similarly with prayer and concern for the souls of these people who so unashamedly mock

Jesus Christ by using his words to support the very evil Christ hates. I think with a new kind of resolve,

I want to ask you to begin to pray for the salvation of the governor and the people around him.

We can't do anything else. There's no political solutions to anything. We can cry out to the

Lord to be merciful because we care. This is why the church is in the world. Finally, MacArthur wants

Newsom to hear the full, true gospel of Jesus Christ, to recognize his serious sin before a holy and righteous

God, and to repent of this sin that he might be saved from the wrath to come.

And that he would understand what he has done, that he would turn from sin. He would repent along with those who accommodate that, follow that, and cry out for mercy from God who will grant it through Jesus Christ.

Amen? Of course, Gavin Newsom isn't the only person who quotes Jesus' words to promote a message that is completely contrary to what

Jesus actually taught. Both Oprah and Stephen Colbert profess to be

Christian, and in this interview, they discuss their favorite Bible verses. Do you have a favorite passage from the

Bible? Yes, I do. Do you? I do. Okay, let's hear yours. Colbert says his favorite Bible verse is from Matthew 6.

Mine's from Matthew. I like it because Jesus says, So I say to you, do not worry, for who among you by worrying could change a hair on his head or add a cubit to the span of his life?

What I like about it is that it's a commandment to not worry. And Oprah says her favorite Bible verse is

Psalm 37 .4. Okay, mine is Psalm 37 .4. Delight thyself.

I love the word delight, don't you? I'm so glad that David knew it. Oh, David was into delighting himself.

Yeah, yes. Even when they're reciting their favorite Bible verses, they make an extremely crude, inappropriate joke on live national television.

Yeah. It says to me, if you focus on being a force for good, then goodness will come, which is also the third law of motion, which is also the karma, which is also the golden rule.

Oprah loves Psalm 37 .4 because it's about God giving people the desires of their hearts.

And not only that, but Oprah also compares Psalm 37 .4 to the third law of motion, karma, and the golden rule, which shows that Oprah's Christianity isn't really about God and Jesus Christ, but rather, it's a universal, general concept about being rewarded for doing good things.

Obviously, this isn't Christianity at all. And of course, Colbert and Oprah love quoting the

Bible, yet they support and celebrate sins such as homosexuality and ending the lives of preborn babies.

And Oprah's magazine supported the atrocious Shout Your Movement. There are even

Christian pastors who quote Jesus to promote teachings that are contrary to the actual Christian gospel.

For Osteen, when we declare things to be true, these things actually will come true. But of course, this is not at all the gospel that Jesus Christ taught, which doesn't involve expecting

God to give us all the desires of our hearts, but rather is about trusting

God, even if God doesn't give us what we think we need. Christianity is about trusting in God's wisdom and goodness, in spite of our sufferings, not about expecting that God will take away all our sufferings.

And then we have T .D. Jakes, who takes Osteen's subtle prosperity gospel teachings and makes them much, much more explicit.

The more you give to me, the more I give back to you.

Again, Jakes quotes the Bible to teach that the more we give to God, the more God will repay us materially, and that this repayment by God is guaranteed.

I started giving on that level so that God would owe me. Oh, y 'all don't hear what I'm saying? You can't handle that.

It's exactly this kind of teaching that has so enriched prosperity preachers like Jakes, so that he owns an enormous mansion, an expensive car, and a private jet.

I've heard people criticize you for having so much. Now you drive a wonderful car, and you have a plane.

How do you explain that? It's also extremely common for politicians to quote Jesus and the

Bible to promote their unbiblical and anti -Christian agendas. Here's Kamala Harris quoting the

Bible to support forced vaccinations without sufficient justification. The act of getting vaccinated, the act of administering the vaccinations, well, these acts are the very essence of what the

Bible and so many faiths tell us about the importance of our role and our power when we say, love thy neighbor.

And I truly believe in the power of that. And here's Joe Biden saying that Donald Trump should actually read the

Bible sometimes. The president held up the Bible at St. John's Church yesterday. I just wish he opened it once in a while instead of brandishing it.

If he opened it, he could have learned something. They're all called to love one another as we love ourselves. Now, I wish

Joe Biden himself would actually read the Bible once in a while and realize that almost all of the policies he is promoting are completely antithetical to Jesus and the

Bible. And Kathy Hochul, the governor of New York, used the Bible in an even more unbelievable way.

Yes, I know you're vaccinated. You're the smart ones. But you know there's people out there who aren't listening to God and what God wants.

You know this. You know who they are. I need you to be my apostles. So first and foremost, it's important that we get the gospel right.

Because if we don't, there are people out there, including ourselves, who will be duped into believing that they are right with God when in fact they are at enmity with him.

You believe the wrong gospel, it doesn't matter how sincere you are in your belief. You are merely sincerely wrong.
