I do not disagree with you that it is not the secular state of Israel that is in view with the references to blessings and curses. Nevertheless, I think it is possible from a plain reading of the relevant texts that the Israel in view is the family of Israel or the people of Israel wherever they may be and that, even in their apparent current apostasy, for God's own reasons and for His glory alone, they may have a special place in this world not withstanding that each individual Jew must also be chosen by Christ and be in His family for them to be with Him in paradise and not consigned to eternal punishment for rejecting the Son. And, most certainly, is not praying for the salvation of the Jews, each individual Jew and not a monolithic Jewish state, in fact blessing the family of Israel and turning our backs against the plight of the Jews in fact cursing them, incurring cursings down upon our own heads.
