A while ago I was talking about the Lighthouse Ministry International Procedures Manual, how to set the captive free, step -by -step procedure to minister deliverance.

I thought that was kind of odd, because step -by -step procedure to, like, reverend deliverance, to be delivered from reverends.

Satan, so I thought that would make a good radio show today. I talked about breaking lineage holds and curses in the past, but now we're going for the big guns.

I thought I'd just read this, and when the focus is upon Satan, his hordes, the demons, principalities and angels and all these kind of things, it's just the wrong focus.

Now I will say this, my next comment is going to be kind of cheesy, but I'll say it anyway because I like to make a point, and it's my show.

After all, it's my show. When you talk to God, what do you call that?

So I've got a question for you, and that's a legitimate question and a legitimate answer, and theologians from James Pettigrew Boyce to Henry Martin would agree with that.

How did I pick those two names? I just looked over my biographies and just picked out the first two that I saw. I could have said

Hudson Taylor to Augustine. I could have said Thomas Cramner to William Tyndale.

I could have said George Whitefield to David Martin Lloyd -Jones. They would all agree with those things, that when you talk to God, you call that prayer.

Prayer is simply talking to God. So I have another question for some of my deliverance ministry friends, although I don't think

I have any. I'd like to. It'd be nice to have, especially if I had some ministers to get deliverance from.

I think I'd like to have a deliverance ministry from T .D. Jakes, from Joyce Meyer, and from Benny Hinn.

Step -by -step procedure to minister deliverance. When you talk to Satan, what do you call that?

Now, I know you'll say, don't do that, and that's not right, and you're setting us up.

But here I have a statement to bind Satan, and I'm addressing Satan. You know, the good news for Christians, we have an advocate.

And we have an advocate, and his name is Jesus Christ. And so when Satan tempts me to despair, no, when

Satan is wanting to condemn me for my sins, when

Satan wants to go to the throne of God and is able to go to the throne and show the great triune

God my sins, the Bible says, my little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin.

Now that is in 1 John, the first letter of John, chapter 2.

Now one of the things I like about the epistle of John is he tells you several reasons why he writes.

So if you ever want to find a purpose statement, which is good to have ahead of time, so you can help yourself understand the book.

It says in chapter 1, for instance, verse 4, and we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Some manuscripts that your joy may be complete. So the letter is written, so John and the apostles' joy would be complete, or our joy would be complete, and in addition, now there may be more, but here at least in chapter 2, secondly,

I'm writing these things so that you may not sin. Certainly John doesn't want to promote sin.

God's glory is on display when he forgives sin. But that, Romans chapter 6, verse 1 and following, is no reason or catalyst to sin.

It says that you might not sin, but if anyone does sin, and he just got done talking before about if we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us. We still sin.

Now, the penalty of sin has been taken care of by Christ Jesus when he died for our sins past, present, and future.

Isn't that a neat reality? He died for all your sins, cleansed you from all those sins.

The guilt of all those sins gone. But the presence of sin won't be done away with until we get to heaven.

Power's been broken even. We now can say no to sin. Before you were a Christian, you always said yes to sin.

Now, we can say no to sin. And then it says in 1 John chapter 2, but if anyone does sin, so for those who are listening who are

Christians, here comes the good news. This is the indicative. We have an advocate.

We have an advocate right now. We're always having an advocate. We're having a defense lawyer with the

Father. So when Satan comes to the Father and accuses us, then the text we see, the text says, we have an advocate with the

Father, Jesus Christ, that is, Jesus himself, the

Messiah, the Anointed One, the King of the Jews, the Righteous. And so that's a little apposition there,

Jesus Christ equals the Righteous, that is, the Righteous. Jesus Christ, the

Righteous One, maybe your translation says. Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

And He, the Righteous One, is our advocate. Now, don't you like to have your focus on Jesus?

Call me crazy, but since I'm a Christian, I like to think about Jesus. And that's one of the problems with these deliverance ministries.

There are so... Now, of course, do they talk about Jesus? The answer is yes, especially when you say, in Jesus's name, that that's the slogan to somehow make

Satan put his proverbial tail between his legs and cower and run. But there's too much

Satan talk, too much talk to Satan. Friends, if you talk to Satan, stop it.

Now, I want to be an example to you. I want you to imitate me as I imitate the

Lord. But I don't talk to Satan. I never talk to Satan. I don't want to ever talk to Satan.

I never need to talk to Satan. I don't have an opportunity to talk to Satan. Do I believe that He exists?

Yes. Do I believe He's a person? He's an actual angel, that is, He's not a force or a power.

He does have power, but He's a being. Do I believe that?

Yes. But I never talk to Him. It just seems so strange to me.

First of all, He's the God of this world, and He'll do whatever He wants. Second of all,

He'll only do what God providentially—well, let's use sovereignly—allows

Him to do, whatever He's ordained to do. He is, as Martin Luther says, the hardest -working servant for God, because He never tires.

He's always working. We have to go to sleep, and sometimes we can't serve. Even the best missionaries have to get some sleep.

But Satan always does the work of God. Satan is always doing things with wicked, evil intent, yet God turns those things for His glory and for our good.

Anyway, here we go. Statement to Bind Satan. Now just tell me, does this strike you odd, especially in light of 2

John? By the way, 1 John goes on to say, He is the propitiation for our sins.

When your sins need to be forgiven, expiated, to go away, that is an important aspect of Christianity.

But here, He is the propitiation. That means God is holy, and God has a holy and just wrath upon sin, and that justice must be meted out.

God's wrath must be assuaged, either on you, in hell, forever and ever and ever, or upon Christ Jesus as He bore our sins in His body on the tree.

How great is that, that we have a substitute, fully manned, so He's our representative, yet dying in our place as a substitute.

You have to keep your mind upon Jesus, the risen King, who was A, our representative, and B, our substitute.

He's a propitiation for our sins, not only ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And by this we know that we have come to know Him if we keep His commandments. So all the
