Sadducees, even the scribes, all trying to discredit Jesus by challenging him with difficult questions that were difficult only for humans.

And they thought that they could discredit him with the other Jews because Jesus was exposing their hypocrisy.

But now it's time for Jesus to ask the questions. And you see, starting in verse 35, that Jesus is now going to start asking them, how can the scribes say that Christ is the son of David?

And this is from the Psalms, and what you see is that in the Psalms it says,

So Jesus says David called himself, calls him Lord. So how could his son be

Lord? Now the idea here being is, how can you have someone who is a descendant of yours, but you call him
