Last week, then, we started a series on abortion, and we talked about what the
00:09
Bible says regarding abortion and about the unborn. That God values the unborn just as much as He does people who are born, and that to kill an unborn child is equated with the same punishment as murder.
00:25
And so, many of you all may have caught the news that recently happened with Roe v.
00:33
Wade being overturned by the Supreme Court. And there's a lot of changes coming in our nation that are going to be some for good and some for ill, because it's going to really cause,
00:47
I think, a lot of polarity between the states, the liberal states and the conservative states, and things are really going to get, looks like they're going to get pretty intense.
00:59
We just saw people protesting this past Friday in downtown, so people want their right to kill their babies.
01:07
You know, it's a sad state of affairs, but I'm hoping that we can continue to tackle this issue from a biblical perspective and really make sure that we can engage this issue with whoever we come across.
01:22
And another way of reminder, so if you all haven't picked up a copy of your book, Lime 5 yet, by Mark Crutcher, go ahead and feel free to take a copy, or for anybody else that you might know that could benefit from it, an expose on the abortion industry.
01:36
It's a very in -depth expose of what goes on in the abortion industry. So, like I mentioned, last week was the biblical case for why abortion is murder, and for the unborn, how
01:48
God values the unborn just as much as He does the born, people who are born. And this part two is going to be a really interesting section,
01:57
I think. It's the spiritual reality of abortion and the spiritual warfare of abortion, because there are definitely spiritual things going on, and you're seeing this climate come out in this recent overturning of Roe v.
02:14
Wade. But one thing I wanted to mention, a few clarifications from last week.
02:22
We must all learn to play devil's advocate, to test all things and to anticipate objections.
02:29
And this is something that I was thinking about when I finished my sermon last week, that I kind of realized a few things.
02:40
And revisiting Matthew 1 .18 through 23, when I read the passage in the
02:47
NASB version, the New American Standard Bible, where it says that the child which is conceived, that, however, is not what the
02:56
Greek actually says. The Greek doesn't say child specifically. It says that which is conceived.
03:03
So the ESV, for example, says in Matthew 1 .20, it says,
03:09
But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying,
03:14
Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the
03:21
Holy Spirit. So that's what the Greek literally says. But of course, what it obviously means is the child.
03:28
It's talking about the child. It refers to the child as a child that was conceived in other verses, including
03:35
Matthew 1 .18. So in Matthew 1 .18, it says, this is the
03:41
ESV now. Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother,
03:46
Mary, had been betrothed to Joseph before they came together, she was found to be with child, with child from the
03:55
Holy Spirit. So that Greek phrase is engastri ekousa.
04:02
And gastri is like if you know, there's a gastrologist or gastronomy, the study of like food, making good food.
04:11
It's talking about your stomach, your belly, or for women, your womb. And so it's having a child in your womb.
04:21
That's what it means, literally being pregnant with a child in your womb. So it's still a human child.
04:28
And it's very clear that the Bible still affirms that at a conception, the child is still considered a child in the eyes of God.
04:37
And even some may object. This is what I was thinking because the verses that we talked about don't explicitly address the scenario of a woman killing her unborn child.
04:50
And that's what the professor was trying to get at, right? That there's no verse in the Bible that explicitly talks about whether it's wrong for a woman to kill her unborn child.
05:00
But we're going to cover some of that a little bit more today because we already established the fact that killing somebody is murder, including unborn children.
05:11
That is still murder. And some object, some may object.
05:16
This is what I mean by testing, you know, being careful to test what we say and really making sure that we're getting to the bottom of something or to the central issue of what's going on.
05:27
So some might object that Christ's birth doesn't count because it was exceptional, because it was a virgin birth, right?
05:35
However, Jesus was fully God and fully man, right?
05:41
He was a full human person, human being. He had a full human nature.
05:47
Therefore, it still counts because if you're going to say that Jesus doesn't count because he wasn't human, then you're a heretic, right?
05:56
That's heresy. To deny the full humanity of Christ is heresy. The exception to Christ's birth is not the fact that he was conceived, but the fact that the source was different.
06:10
Instead of the source being a man, the source was the Holy Spirit. So the source of Christ's conception was
06:18
God, the Spirit. But the conception itself, everything from the conception to that point on was still fully human.
06:25
It was still a fully human process. Christ became man in every single way that we do.
06:31
The only exception being that the Holy Spirit conceived
06:36
Christ in Mary's womb. That's the only difference. So even so, in Luke 137, which is one of the passages that the professor mentioned, it says
06:52
Elizabeth, in her old age, has also conceived a son. And I missed that when
07:00
I read it last week. It says she conceived a son. So at conception, it's already referred to as a son.
07:09
Just like a son who is born, it's a son when it's conceived or a daughter when it's conceived.
07:15
It's fully conceived. It's a full son or daughter. It doesn't take nine months for it to become your son or your daughter.
07:23
It's your son at conception or daughter at conception. Then also, to take another human, and that was a fully human birth.
07:32
That was not the Holy Spirit. And then in Genesis 19, 35 to 36, that's the case with Lot and his daughters.
07:42
So they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose and lay with him.
07:48
And he did not know when she laid down or when she arose. Thus, both daughters of Lot became pregnant or they conceived with child by their father.
07:59
So there you see another human example in which there was an incestuous relationship because they wanted to preserve the father's seed,
08:08
Lot's seed. And so when
08:13
I quoted... So this is really interesting because when I quoted Amos 1 .13
08:21
and Exodus 21, 22 through 25, those were cases where the mother was attacked by somebody else, right?
08:30
If two men are fighting, they accidentally hit the woman. She was attacked by somebody else, not herself.
08:38
So the child was attacked from somebody else that was not her mother. And then in Amos, I think it was the
08:47
Ammonites. The Ammonites were killing, ripping open the pregnant women and killing the children.
08:54
So again, it was somebody else who was attacking the child. It was not the mother herself. And so you see this kind of perverse logic that the professor uses to say, well, it doesn't address explicitly a woman killing her child in the womb.
09:09
And of course, this is just really perverse logic because we already saw God values the unborn.
09:16
He has a predestinating... His predestinating power already has purpose for every single human being.
09:21
And if you thwart that purpose, that life, whether it's before the womb or after, you're going to be held accountable to God.
09:28
It's capital punishment in the Old Testament. Even if it's an accident, like we saw in Exodus, right?
09:34
Even if it's an accident, you're still punishable offense by death. So this actually takes us to a very applicable scenario in our society.
09:44
Our society is extremely schizophrenic when it comes to abortion. Most states actually have homicide laws protecting the unborn in a similar scenario to Exodus 21 and 22.
09:59
In Texas, for example, under a law signed in June 20th, 2003, and effective
10:05
September 1st, 2003, the protections of the entire criminal code extend to an unborn child at every stage, from gestation, of gestation, from fertilization until birth.
10:17
The law does not apply to conduct committed by the mother of the unborn child or to a lawful medical procedure performed by a physician or other licensed healthcare provider with the requisite consent.
10:31
This is SB 319. It's called the
10:36
Prenatal Protection Act. So in other words, if somebody kills your baby in the womb, they'll be liable for homicide.
10:47
They'll be guilty of homicide and they'll be punished as a crime. It'll be punished as a crime, as a homicide, crime of homicide.
10:55
But you saw the twisted logic there. It doesn't apply to the mother, to conduct committed by the mother of the unborn child or to a lawful medical procedure performed by a physician or an abortionist with lawful consent.
11:14
So the exception is you're not allowed to kill a child without the mother's consent.
11:22
But if the mother concedes to you killing her child, if it's under a lawful medical procedure, you can go ahead and kill the child.
11:31
It's totally schizophrenic. And that's the kind of times that we live in right now, with the fact that it's perfectly legal to kill your baby if you're the mother that consents to it.
11:50
And if the abortionist helps you kill the child or kills the child for you with your consent.
11:58
So now this is where we get to the sticking point of abortion.
12:07
Because now with Roe v. Wade, we saw some trigger, they're called trigger laws, how Texas, for example, enacted a trigger law that if Roe v.
12:15
Wade gets overturned, it's going to become illegal completely to do any abortions in 30 days.
12:22
They have 30 days to stop doing abortions since Roe v. Wade has been overturned.
12:28
So and several different states did something like that. So now they're becoming more consistent, which is a good thing.
12:35
At least the conservative states are. The liberal states are still going to be a mess. But the question now is, what if the mother is the one who wants to kill her baby?
12:47
Does that make the situation better or worse or excusable? Does that make it excusable because it's the mother that wants to kill the baby instead of somebody else?
13:00
Obviously, in fact, not only is that still inexcusable, it's actually worse, I would say, because when it's the mother that's willing to kill her own child, that's child sacrifice, right?
13:14
That's basically child sacrifice. That doesn't change the fact that it's still murder and that it's child sacrifice.
13:23
So we have this is where it's really coming to a head here.
13:34
And, you know, an analogy to this when it comes to abortion, when a mother wants to kill her baby, she hires an abortionist to do it, right?
13:53
Abortionists are a lot like hitmen. A hitman is somebody you hire for you want somebody dead.
14:01
You hire them, they kill them for you, right? It works very similar with abortion doctors, except they're basically the only legal form of hitmen that we have.
14:12
Except that when the government does it, too. Sometimes the government is allowed to do that. But, quote -unquote.
14:19
But, you know, a lot of people in the pro -life movement are really messed up about this because they claim that the mother is innocent and even in some cases the abortion doctor is also innocent.
14:39
And there's no question that the abortionist is a vile, wicked man. Abortion is evil.
14:47
Killing babies for hire is an abomination in God's eyes. That's very clear.
14:54
However, would the abortionist kill the baby if the mother had not conceded?
15:03
Obviously not, right? Yeah, yeah.
15:11
But the issue here is the mother has to initiate the death.
15:20
She's the one who has to concede first. And so this got me thinking, like, who bears the most responsibility?
15:28
Who really bears the responsibility here? Because without the woman's consent and without the woman hiring and paying the abortion doctor, that abortion will not happen.
15:40
And in fact, if no woman wanted to get an abortion, abortionists would be out of a job, right?
15:49
So the issue here becomes an issue of choice.
15:56
And here we see again, we go back to the Proverbs 6, 16 through 19. There are six things that the
16:02
Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him. Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who soars discord among brothers.
16:17
So here we have a situation in which the woman, I believe, bears the most guilt in this process.
16:28
Now, we have to address other issues involved. There's obviously issues of propaganda and deception on behalf of the abortion industry.
16:37
There's no question that the abortion industry lies through their teeth about babies, you know, being not real persons and things like that.
16:47
But let's continue here and let's cover a little bit more Scripture to kind of start to get a feel for the setting here.
16:56
Now, one very important verse is Psalm 12, verse 8. Psalm 12, verse 8, which says,
17:05
On every side the wicked prowl, as vileness is exalted among the children of men.
17:12
This verse is very powerful because it really reveals what our society, the state of our society today.
17:20
When you exalt vileness as a nation, like the killing of the unborn, abortion, the wicked prowl on every side.
17:30
The wicked roam free because they're not punished, right? There's no justice being served when wickedness and vileness is exalted.
17:41
And that is what we see. But now we see this coming to a head with Roe v. Wade being overturned. We're starting to see some change and some would say a positive direction, but not without cost,
17:56
I think. And so now we see here in John 10, 10.
18:04
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
18:11
I talked about last week how the professor didn't even mention that the devil's agenda has always been to steal, kill, and destroy.
18:20
The thief who steal, kills, and destroy. He wants to rob people of their life. He wants to kill, right?
18:26
He's a murderer. And Christ is the one who says that you may have life and have it in abundance.
18:33
So whose side? What do you think about when you think about the issue of abortion, which is killing the unborn?
18:39
Obviously, it falls on the side of the devil's agenda rather than God's agenda.
18:47
And I'll even raise you one. In John 8, 44, Christ is rebuking the
18:53
Pharisees, the Jews and the Pharisees. And he says, you are of your father, the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires.
19:03
He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him.
19:12
When he lies, he speaks out of his own character for he is a liar and the father of lies. The devil is a murderer from the beginning.
19:21
And that is 100 % in line with abortion because abortion is to kill an unborn child.
19:29
But now, let's talk a little bit more about the issue here of the spiritual reality of abortion.
19:38
Now, before we do that, going back to the issue of whose choice it is, what is the motto of those who support abortion that you hear?
19:50
They are pro -choice, right? They're all about choice.
19:56
They're all about being pro -choice, the woman's choice and right to choose to kill her baby, right?
20:04
So by their own agenda, their own affirmation, their own desire to give the woman a choice to kill her child, she by that very fact bears the most responsibility because it's whose choice.
20:21
It's the woman's choice, right? That makes her the most guilty party in this.
20:30
And that's where we have to face the reality of the situation because they are condemning themselves and saying that it's the woman's choice.
20:43
It's a woman's right to choose. Therefore, you are responsible then for that crime.
20:51
And that's just a matter of fact, but the fact that they make this their motto and their propaganda device, they are condemning themselves.
21:03
And so that is really important to understand with respect to who is guilty in this.
21:10
It doesn't absolve the abortionist or the abortion industry. They are still guilty. But ultimately, the woman's choice to kill her child, she bears the most responsibility in that.
21:22
And of course, you know, some people, this is where we have to have balance because some people say, some people in the pro -life movement, a lot of Catholic organizations too, they'll say, no, the woman is a victim.
21:33
The woman is a victim in all this. And she can't be held responsible for, even in Texas, the laws that just passed do not charge the woman with a crime.
21:48
The woman is not guilty even now. If she were to commit an abortion, the woman would not be guilty in Texas after these new laws.
21:59
So there's still a very dysfunctional understanding of justice here because we've been so conditioned by the devil's agenda in our society to victimize the woman who is the primary sinner in this aspect.
22:14
And, you know, some people say there's a lack of balance in this issue because some people say, well, the woman is completely guilty, period.
22:25
She needs to pay the consequences without any other consideration for the situation because the reality of the situation is the woman could very well be deceived herself.
22:38
She can fall prey, especially young girls, you know, young girls that get in a situation with a pregnancy and are scared for her parents finding out, or, you know, they get scared and they get manipulated by abortionists or Planned Parenthood abortion clinic to kill her child.
22:57
That's all very possible. But that still does not absolve her from her crime.
23:05
It is still her sin that she killed her child. And the scripture is very clear about that.
23:12
And a lack of a lack of knowledge or lack of see then that's the reality of the situation is nobody is fully ignorant of this reality that you are conceiving in your womb a child no matter how much you know,
23:30
Planned Parenthood may lie about it. It doesn't change the reality what God says about the child what the word clearly says about the child that it is full it is a full person and therefore it is a murder to kill your unborn child.
23:45
So we have to be careful to keep a right balance in this issue and consider the reality of the situation that, you know, we somehow it's almost
23:56
I think it might be like a Catholic thing because they hold up mother Mary, you know mother
24:01
Mary is this immaculately conceived person because she bore Christ and and it's like, you know, the woman the just because the woman is bearing the child that doesn't make her guiltless.
24:12
It doesn't absolve her from the fact that she's the one who elected to have the abortion ultimately and therefore primarily the one responsible.
24:22
So really something to think about we have to think very carefully about this issue biblically now
24:28
Ephesians 6 10 through 18. We're going to talk about the spiritual reality here of abortion and this is where it's going to get really we're going to really dig deep into the spiritual aspect of this.
24:45
Ephesians 6 10 through 18. It says this finally be strong in the
24:52
Lord and in the strength of his might put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against rulers against the authorities against the cosmic powers over this present darkness against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
25:16
Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand firm.
25:23
So this passage is describing the reality of the situation that we face as believers. Our enemy is not primarily flesh and blood.
25:32
Our enemy is spiritual. It's the devil and his minions.
25:38
It's the devil and the demonic entities that pursue his agenda on the earth.
25:47
This is very important because a lot of times this can get overlooked as well.
25:54
The reality is that abortion is spiritual warfare. It is the frontline of spiritual warfare in many ways.
26:03
If we turn to Leviticus chapter 20, we're going to talk about there's there's two there's two devils primarily associated with abortion in the scriptures.
26:15
One is Molech and the other is Lilith. We're going to talk about Molech first in Leviticus chapter 20 verses 1 through 5.
26:27
Leviticus 20 starting in verse 1. The Lord spoke to Moses saying say to the people of Israel any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be put to death.
26:45
The people of the land shall stone him with stones. I myself will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people because he has given one of his children to Molech to make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name.
27:01
And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech and do not put him to death then
27:10
I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech.
27:20
Molech is a gruesome false God in the Old Testament. I'm going to read from a
27:26
Smith's Bible dictionary about Molech. The fire God Molech was the tutelary deity of the children of Ammon the
27:34
Ammonites and essentially identical with the Mohebites Kemosh. Fire gods appear to have been common to all the
27:43
Canaanite Syrian and Arab tribes who worship the destructive element under an outward symbol with the most inhuman rights.
27:51
According to Jewish tradition the image of Molech was of brass hollow within and was situated without Jerusalem.
27:58
His face was out of a calf and his hands stretched forth like a man who opens his hands to receive something of his neighbor and they kindled it with fire and the priest took the babe and put it into the hands of Molech and the babe gave up the ghost.
28:14
This is one of the most gruesome things that would happen in the
28:19
Old Testament when people would worship Molech you had a hollow.
28:25
There was a big idol. It had a hollow stomach because they would put fire kindle a fire inside the stomach and it was made of brass so it would get hot when you would heat it up and it had hands laid out like this like human hands and the people who wanted to offer their children would heat up Molech.
28:46
They would start playing drums and then they would offer the baby into the skillet and it would become incinerated and die from the skillet.
29:00
It is a gruesome horrendous thing, but abortion is not much different from that gruesome of a sacrifice.
29:09
It's very much along the same lines. And so the reason they would beat out the drums, they would beat the drums.
29:16
You all might suspect why they would beat the drums because of the screams of the child dying.
29:22
And so this is what happens when we cannot turn a blind eye to this because it's very, you know, it's like beating the drums to something that's so clearly immoral and clearly murder.
29:35
And so some scholars even say that they would try to make the baby laugh before burning it to make it an acceptable sacrifice.
29:46
And so we cannot afford to ignore this kind of issue and some of the ways you abort a child, some of them,
29:54
I don't think it's practiced anymore, but it used to be practiced that you would put salt, saline solution in the womb and that would burn the child alive.
30:05
It's very similar to Molech, them offering children to Molech.
30:12
And here you see the children are obviously born. They're obviously born. So it doesn't, like the professor said, it doesn't explicitly address the issue of an unborn child being offered up, but it still doesn't change the reality that, you know, back in those days it was more difficult to get abortions done.
30:34
But again, the child sacrifice is still child sacrifice.
30:42
We're still talking about a child in the womb. The only difference is location.
30:48
That's the only difference is either it's in the womb or it's outside the womb. That doesn't change the fact that it's still a child, that it's still a baby, a human baby.
30:59
So this was really gruesome. And this is, in fact, there are so many parallels to the abortion issue with the
31:09
Holocaust. This is something similar happened during the
31:15
Holocaust when Nazis would be killed, when they would gas them.
31:22
Churches, neighboring churches would often sing their, they would turn up the hymns.
31:29
They would turn up the music to drown out the screaming sounds of the Jews being killed, the people being killed in the gas chambers.
31:36
And it's a very similar parallel to the Nazi Holocaust and the abortion
31:41
Holocaust that we have in this country, except now the abortion Holocaust is six times worse because we're talking about over 60 million babies killed in 50 years where Hitler only got a chance to kill 10 or 11 million.
31:58
So we have to be really careful to be aware of the issue and to really pray, to fast and to pray and to seek to be salt and light in Good Samaritans with respect to the issue of abortion because it is an abomination in the eyes of God.
32:19
And this is where you see God punish very clearly child sacrifice and that's ultimately what abortion is.
32:28
It is child sacrifice. You are sacrificing your child for your benefit, for some kind of benefit.
32:36
Just like Molech would offer you health or wealth or prosperity, you think that by killing your child, you're going to be more prosperous or more wealthy or more better off because you won't have to be chained down by some baby that you have to take care of.
32:50
That's the lie of the devil. And Psalm 106 34 to 31 describes a summary of what would happen with Molech, with what happened with the false worship of Molech.
33:05
In Psalm 106 verses 34 and on, it says, They did not destroy the peoples as the
33:12
Lord commanded them, but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did. They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
33:20
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons. They poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan.
33:32
And the land was polluted with blood. Thus they became unclean by their acts and played the whore in their deeds.
33:39
Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage.
33:47
He gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them. So here you clearly see that God executed justice on Israel for this wicked sin of child sacrifice.
34:02
God will not clear the guilty in this. And that's why it is very necessary, it is very important for us as a people of God to offer forgiveness and hope exclusively through Christ and his gospel.
34:21
That is the only way that men and women who are guilty of the crime of abortion can be absolved of this murder.
34:30
Only through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ on the cross, through the gospel, and by believing in him alone.
34:40
So you see in the case with Molech, abortion, this child sacrifice, is sacrifice done unto demons, unto false gods.
34:52
Here is the context. Here's some more context of the demons and the pagan nations in Israel.
35:00
In Babylon, if we turn to Isaiah 13. In Isaiah 13, in verses 1 -3 and then 9 -19, it's going to give us a little bit more context as to this issue.
35:14
Isaiah 13, 1 -3 and 9 -19. The oracle concerning Babylon, which
35:20
Isaiah the son of Amos saw, on a bare hill raised a signal, cry aloud to them, wave the hand for them to enter the gates of the nobles.
35:29
I myself have commanded my consecrated ones and have summoned my mighty men to execute my anger, my proudly exalting ones.
35:39
Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land of desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.
35:48
For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light. The sun will be dark at its rising and the moon will not shed its light.
35:58
I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity. I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant and lay low to the pompous pride of the ruthless.
36:07
I will make people more rare than fine gold and mankind than the gold of Ophir.
36:14
Therefore, I will make the heavens tremble and the earth will be shaken out of its place at the wrath of the
36:20
Lord of hosts in the day of his fierce anger. And like a hunted gazelle or like sheep with none to gather them, each will turn to his own people and each will flee to his own land.
36:31
Whoever is found will be thrust through and whoever is caught will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed in pieces before their eyes.
36:40
Their houses will be plundered and their wives ravished. Behold, I am stirring up the meads against them who will have no regard for silver and do not delight in gold.
36:49
Their bows will slaughter the young men. They will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb and their eyes will not pity children.
36:58
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the splendor of the pomp and pomp of the Chaldeans will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when
37:04
God overthrew them. So here you see the fierce anger with which
37:12
God judges a nation that engages in this kind of sin. It is so fearsome that he will say that their own children, their infants will be dashed in pieces before their eyes in God's judgment.
37:24
God will judge them by plundering their houses, ravishing their wives and dashing their children to pieces in judgment over their wickedness that they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb and they will not pity children because of God's fierce judgment on them.
37:46
And in Isaiah 13 and verse 20, it says she will never be inhabited or settled from generation to generation.
37:54
No nomad will pitch his tent there. No shepherd will rest his flock there. But desert creatures will lie down there and howling creatures will fill their houses.
38:04
Ostriches will dwell there and wild goats will leap about. Hyenas will howl in her fortresses and jackals in her luxurious places.
38:12
Babylon's time is at hand and her days will not be prolonged. So you see the desolation that God will cause in a nation that is guilty of these kinds of sins that God said that he will destroy people so utterly he will make them more rare than fine gold.
38:36
And in Isaiah 13 verse 21, the King James Bible says wild beasts of the desert shall lie there and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures and owls shall dwell there and satyrs shall dance there.
38:53
There's some interesting words here being used. The satyr shall dance there.
39:01
Ellicott's commentary says this in the satyrs literally hairy or shaggy ones we may find either goats translated as goats as in Leviticus 4 24 or 16 9 or as the
39:15
English version suggests a mythical form of grotesque animal life the demons or devils of Leviticus 17 7 and 2nd
39:24
Chronicles 11 15 a goat shaped form like that of Greek pan. So here it's talking about the word satyr is used for the word for a demon a devil and it resembles a like a hairy goat kind of like the the the
39:41
Greek the Greek version of the pan the false god pan and like the like the satanic god
39:49
Baphomet Baphomet is a false god with the head of a the head of a goat and it has the the chest the torso of a woman and the it has a legs of a goat.
40:02
So this is what's often referred to as a satyr. And so here we see more demonic activity.
40:13
It's basically describing the desolation that God will cause on a nation and make it a ruin and a breeding ground for wildlife and for devils to inhabit.
40:26
So in Isaiah 34, we've we come across yet another spirit called
40:31
Lilith. And this is the spirit of feminism and abortion and Isaiah 34 verses 1 through 6.
40:41
We see here Isaiah 34 1 through 6.
40:49
It says draw near all nations to hear and give attention
40:55
O peoples let the earth hear and all that fills it the world and all that comes from it for the
41:01
Lord is enraged against all the nations and furious against all their hosts. He has devoted them to destruction and given has given them over for slaughter.
41:10
Their slain shall be cast out and their stench of the stench of their corpses shall rise. The mountain shall flow with their blood all the host of heaven shall rot away and the skies roll up like a scroll all their hosts shall fall as leaves fall from the vine like leaves falling from the fig tree for my sword has drunk its fill with the heavens behold it descends for judgment upon Edom upon the people
41:37
I have devoted to destruction the Lord has a sword it is sated with blood it is gorged with fat with the blood of lambs and goats with the fat of the kidneys of rams for the
41:48
Lord has a sacrifice in Bozra a great slaughter in the land of Edom. So this is describing how
41:53
God is judging the nation of Edom the Edomites. Isaiah 34 verse 14 from the
42:00
Amplified Bible says the creatures of the desert will encounter jackals and hairy goats or the
42:06
Seder will call to its kind indeed Lilith or night demon will settle there and find herself a place of rest.
42:17
There you see God's judgment laying waste to a nation making it a ruin and a breeding ground for wild animals wildlife and for devils a breeding ground for devils to inhabit.
42:31
The Lexham English Bible says and desert creatures shall meet with hyenas and a goat demon the
42:37
Seder shall call to his neighbor surely there Lilith shall repose and she shall find a resting place for herself that word
42:45
Lilith there in other versions it gets translated as screech owl but there's other words for screech owl the only word time the word
42:54
Lilith is used is in this passage and it's significant and the
43:01
Good News translation excuse me, it says wild animals will roam there and demons will call to each other the night monster or Lilith will come there looking for a place of rest.
43:15
One author says Lilith is a female spirit a demon also found in the
43:22
Old Testament Isaiah 34 14 Lilith supposedly Lilith and her followers roamed the world to seduce men and kill infants.
43:33
There's also a related Midrashic tradition. So Midrash in Hebrew and Jewish tradition is stories that fill in parts of the
43:44
Bible that the Bible skips over or leaves out. So the Bible as you may know encompasses thousands of years and a lot of these years are skipped over.
43:55
They're not they're not really they don't go into much detail because otherwise the Bible would be a huge massive tome.
44:03
So Midrashic traditions are stories that people tell to fill in certain parts of the
44:09
Bible that the Bible doesn't speak to. One of them mentions the first Eve in which this is a curious idea first recorded in the medieval alphabet of Ben Sira that the demon goddess
44:23
Lilith was Adam's first wife who abandoned him after their first and only sexual affair.
44:33
So so and this is also cited referred to in literature, for example in Ulysses James Joyce's Ulysses.
44:44
It's a famous poem. It says then spake young Stephen Orgulas of mother church that would cast him out of her bosom of law of cannons of Lilith a patron of abortions.
45:00
So this was common knowledge that it was kind of understood that Lilith was this demonic spirit that would go after children and seduce men.
45:09
Ellicott's commentary for English readers says this. The English satyr expresses fairly enough the idea of a demon brute haunting the waste places of and palaces of Edom while the screech owl is the
45:22
Lilith the she vampire who appears in the legends of the Talmud as having been
45:28
Adam's first wife who left him and was turned into a demon. With the later Jews Lilith a sucking the blood of children who was the bugbear of the nursery.
45:38
Night vampire would perhaps be the best rendering. So there you see again and the pulpit commentary says the screech owl the word here used
45:46
Lilith occurs only in this place. It may be doubted whether any bird or other animal is meant.
45:51
Lilith was the name of a female demon or wicked fairy in whom the Assyrians believed a being thought to vex and persecute her victims in their sleep.
46:01
The word is probably derivative from Layla night and designates the spirit of the night. A mischievous being who took advantage of the darkness to play fantastic tricks.
46:11
A Jewish legend made Lilith the first wife of Adam and said that having pronounced the divine name as a charm she was changed into a devil.
46:20
Because she basically disobeyed Adam. She refused to submit to Adam and therefore
46:25
God turned her into a demon according to the story. It's not true. The demon is real but the story is not true.
46:33
That's just used for enticement for people to get into the worship of this demon.
46:40
And so it was her special delight to murder young children. And this is from an article called
46:48
Lilith a feminist in paradise. Lilith was first talked about in Genesis 1 as a woman who was created by God to be co -equal to Adam in all measures.
46:57
But then why was she cast out of paradise only to be replaced by Eve? In the story illustrated in the alphabet of Sirach Lilith appears as a woman made from the same clay as Adam and as does proclaim as his wife and she was created on equal footing with her husband.
47:12
Lilith wanted Adam to treat her as his equal in all respects. She refused to be subservient to him and ran away from paradise.
47:20
When Adam turned to God for an explanation God allegedly took Adam's side and was furious with Lilith. So God sent angels to drag
47:27
Lilith back to Eden and there as the angels found her by the Red Sea Lilith is suddenly portrayed as a killer and is deemed to become the first demoness on earth.
47:36
So even before the existence of humanity, there was a woman who was fighting for equal rights only to be met with male dominance and the crushing patriarchy.
47:44
Of course, this is her feminist perspective talking. God and Adam didn't think that it was a woman's place to be on the same footing as a man and just because Lilith raised her voice to call them out, she was turned into a demonic figure warning any naysayers to keep quiet or be ready to be shunned by society.
48:01
And so Lilith's defiance of societal expectations and her challenging the oppressive system in which she was placed makes her a strong symbol of empowerment.
48:10
She has become a token of female power and independence as her story is open for interpretation has inspired several feminist movements.
48:20
So this is why a lot of feminist organizations use Lilith as their motto, as their symbol.
48:29
And this is the spirit of feminism and of abortion. And the strongest, the movement that has most strongly pushed for abortion in this nation is the feminist movement.
48:40
The radical feminist movement is what has most promoted women's rights, the women's right to kill a child.
48:50
Lilith was also portrayed as a female demon. Angels don't have genders.
48:58
They don't have genders because Jesus talks about how angels, when we die and go in heaven, we won't have reproduction.
49:08
The Mormons are completely wrong about that. You're not going to produce babies in your own planet. That's totally false.
49:14
Jesus says that we will not reproduce in heaven. There is no, there is no, there will still be men and women in heaven, but spirit angels and demons don't have genders.
49:27
But they portray themselves as female or male sometimes, like incubus and succubus and Lilith and Molech and things like that.
49:37
But they don't necessarily have a gender because they're spiritual. They're demonic spiritual beings.
49:45
And so Lilith is also portrayed in Victoria's Secret because the models are women with big angel wings, right?
50:02
That's the symbol of Lilith. It's a woman spirit with demonic wings.
50:08
And so now you know what Victoria's Secret actually is. It's Lilith. It's the spirit of feminism.
50:15
Now, this is where we have to recognize the reality of the spirit behind abortion.
50:25
It is a demonic spirit. And we need to be mindful of that because, like the Bible says, we have to wrestle against this spiritual wickedness and pray against it and pray that God will rebuke these spirits from its victims and from society, from our nation, from this wicked spirit of abortion and of feminism in our nation.
50:50
And so something to be mindful of and to pray against when we pray for God to end abortion, for God to judge the wickedness and to put an end to abortion and to bring an end to the reign of this spirit in our society.
51:07
And so now we see we're going to come to the third phase of our journey here, which is being abortion in politics and in society.
51:19
Now we see how this spirit manifests itself in society and how as Christians, what our responsibility is to fight against it.
51:30
So in an excellent article by John Robbins called
51:35
Abortion, the Christian in the State, he has a section here where he says, in addition to finding out what the
51:45
Bible says, which is what we went through, all Christians and especially Christian lawyers ought to learn a little more about the
51:52
Constitution as well. There are two doctrines of law that explain why the Supreme Court decisions of 1973 have been regarded as the law of the land, but there is no basis for those doctrines in the
52:04
Constitution. The first of these is the notion of judicial review, the notion that the courts, particularly the
52:10
Supreme Court, have the exclusive power of finding a law unconstitutional. The second is the notion that the
52:16
Constitution means what the Supreme Court says it means. To take the second idea first,
52:22
Charles Evans Hughes, later Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, stated in 1907 that the Constitution is what the judges say it is.
52:30
On the contrary, the Supreme Court is what the Constitution says it is.
52:38
We have adopted, this is a Roman Catholic view of the Constitution, a
52:43
Romanist view. The Supreme Court is to the Constitution as the
52:48
Roman church or the magisterium in the Catholic churches to the Bible. The Roman church gives us the infallible interpretation of the document.
52:59
The Bible is what the Roman church says it is. We must return to the original Protestant view and the original constitutional view.
53:08
The church is what the Bible says it is, not the other way around.
53:14
The Bible, God's word, defines what the church is. As for judicial review, such different leaders as Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln agree that the power of judicial review is not granted to the
53:27
Supreme Court. Here's a quote from Jefferson. To consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions is a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy.
53:42
The Constitution has erected no such single tribunal, knowing that to whatever hands confided with the corruptions of time and party, its members would become despots.
53:52
It is more wisely made all departments co -equal and co -sovereign within themselves.
53:59
In other words, the three branches of federal government, the executive, judicial, and legislative have co -equal and co -sovereign.
54:09
Not one branch of government has the exclusive power to define or to speak against the other two with some kind of superiority.
54:21
It doesn't work that way. They specifically design it to be checks and balances.
54:26
That's the term, the political term. So here we see, even though systemic racism, you hear in our time critical race theory, that we have systemic racism in our nation and that as a society we have become so racist that it's embedded into our society, into our infrastructure.
54:51
But this is actually demonstrably false. But what is a systemic corruption that people should be concerned about?
55:03
See, this is where you see the hypocrisy of these people. The systemic abuse and corruption is with the abortion industry and abortion in this country.
55:12
That's systemic corruption. If you want to see systemic corruption in a nation, look no further than abortion.
55:19
All of the signs of systemic corruption at every single level, from the laws to the practice to the lack of justice, it's all over the abortion industry.
55:33
That book, that book, Line 5, will give you an in -depth view of just how systemic the corruption of abortion really is.
55:43
This is where people need to be focusing on. Forget about this, quote unquote, racism and subtle racism and all this.
55:50
Not to say that there isn't a sin of racism. That still exists. But to claim that it's systemic is simply a lie.
55:57
It's just a lie. It's not true. That's why in my speech to the county commissioner's court,
56:03
I said, I dared them to find an organization more corrupt besides the mafia than Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry.
56:11
You will not find one. They are corrupt at every level, every single level.
56:19
And so this is very important because we have to recognize, know your enemy, right?
56:27
We have to know our enemy and understand the real problem here is that abortion is a sin.
56:35
It is vile murder. It is child sacrifice. It is demonic.
56:41
It is demonic sacrifice and worship to devils. It is gross sin.
56:47
We need to rebuke it repent of it and there is forgiveness for it in the gospel of Christ.
56:56
Now this brings us to how we should respond to this issue as Christians. We are called to be pro -life but that word means different things to different people to be truly pro -life means to have no exceptions to being pro -life whatsoever.
57:16
There are no exceptions to being pro -life no exceptions to abortion abortion is wrong period end of story.
57:28
There is no instance in which abortion is permissible abortion once again being being now we have to define our terms again abortion is the intentional killing of a child.
57:46
So you'll often hear common exceptions in the plural in the pro -life movement in cases of rape incest or the life of the mother being being threatened in none of these situations is abortion permissible because again in none of these situations should you have to kill a child even when the life of the mother is threatened.
58:13
Okay, like an ectopic pregnancy in which the baby starts to develop in the fallopian tubes and therefore starts to cause health problem.
58:23
The mother will could die if the if something isn't done about the ectopic pregnancy.
58:29
The mother will die likely died now, but even in those situations the doctor does not has no need to intentionally kill that child.
58:40
He may have to extract a child from the mother and the child may die because of it, but you never enter a procedure with an unborn child with the intention of killing it.
58:51
Does that make sense? That is why there is no exception to this being pro -life.
58:58
We cannot have any exception to being pro -life even if it's one if it's to save the mother you take that you may need to extract the child and yes, you're not hoping that the child will die the child may still die because it cannot survive outside of the mother's womb if it's too early, but there should never be an intentional killing of that child.
59:24
Life must be preserved. And so that is extremely important to be mindful of because you will often try to and then and then you know, man, this is
59:35
I really want to get to this so we also have to be careful with in vitro fertilization a lot of times in in vitro fertilization when a woman cannot have children or she wants to have a child they'll go to the fertilization clinic to fertilize a bunch of eggs and then she gets to pick one of the eggs, but then what happens to the other fertilized eggs?
59:59
They get discarded they get frozen and some like refrigerator or something and what when does life begin at fertilization that the fertilized egg at conception.
01:00:12
So you're killing unborn children potentially there. So we need to be careful with in vitro fertilization as well.
01:00:20
That can be an immoral thing to be mindful of now when we're talking about abortion.
01:00:27
We have to also make sure not to dance with the devil not to give a devil even an inch because even with an inch the devil will take advantage of it.
01:00:42
You play with fire. You're going to get burned. That's what Ephesians 427 says give no opportunity to the devil whatsoever.
01:00:51
No temptation. No opportunity and other in order to do this. We must play devil's advocate to test our position like first of the first Thessalonians 521 to 22 also says test everything and hold fast.
01:01:04
What is good abstain from every appearance or form of evil and Matthew 1016 as well.
01:01:12
Behold. I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. So be wise as serpents. Why is the serpents and innocent as doves?
01:01:21
Why is there no exception to this rule? Then why should we have no exceptions to abortion? In order to think about this.
01:01:28
You have to think like the devil. Think like the other side think like them if there is an exception because the devil is crafty, right?
01:01:38
The the serpent is crafty and is and is always looking for loopholes always looking for ways to get in and to invade.
01:01:48
So if you were to allow abortion in the case of the life of the mother being threatened, how do you think people would react?
01:01:56
From the other side will address that. How do you think the devil will address that? Think about this. If the life of the mother is allowed for if you can allow an abortion with the life of the mother being threatened, then all the other side has to claim is that well, if you don't give me an abortion,
01:02:20
I'm going to commit suicide, right? That's the devil's mentality.
01:02:28
So if you give even an inch to this movement even an inch to this abortion in cases of the life of the mother being threatened, all they have to do is claim.
01:02:37
Well, I'm going to commit. I'm going to kill myself unless I kill this baby and then they're going to they're not going to have a way around that because now they have to try to well, she's going to kill herself.
01:02:51
So her life is being threatened with this child. This is the perverse form of logic that you're going to that you will see play out.
01:02:59
That's why we have to be careful not to allow any exceptions to this. No exceptions whatsoever.
01:03:07
Okay, we have to think very carefully about this issue discern very biblically how to apply the word to our time in our situation and to discern the enemy's agenda in this.
01:03:19
This is where it's really important to get this right and to be united to be of the same mind because we need to fight a united front in this issue with those who are like -minded.
01:03:33
That's why no exceptions can be made to abortion. And I ran a little long again.
01:03:41
I apologize for that and but I hope you got some something out of this and we're going to continue this this this discussion in the next sermon about the politics of Roe v.
01:03:53
Wade and what else is is implied with the
01:04:00
Constitution and the political rights that the unborn should have. So with that said, let's go ahead and close out in prayer.
01:04:09
Our gracious precious Heavenly Father. We thank you Lord for the opportunity to gather today again as a people to worship you and to hear the preaching of your word
01:04:17
Father God. We ask that you would bless that you would bless us that you would enable us to be of the same mind of a sound mind with respect to the issue of abortion and with respect to the unborn
01:04:32
Lord. Give us your eyes. Give us the mind of Christ and your eyes to see the unborn and the issue of abortion the way you see it
01:04:40
Lord through your word and through your sound doctrine Lord. Help us to be diligent with respect to how to mobilize ourselves and to strategize against the wiles of the devil against the flaming darts of the evil one and to how to combat the spiritual wickedness of Lilith and of Molech and of the demonic nature of this this this sin of abortion
01:05:04
Lord help us to empower us were Lord with your spirit and your word to be emboldened by the truth and to share the truth with others
01:05:17
Lord the truth of the gospel and to share a consistent perspective on all of these areas with respect to the sin of abortion how we should view abortion as a crime in society and how and who should bear the guilt in this crime and what the unborn should be protected politically as persons legally
01:05:43
Lord we thank you for this. We ask that you bless those who couldn't make it today. We ask that you would help us to continue to sanctify us
