I It may not pertain to you probably doesn't but I have figured out how to put closed captions on my youtube videos and I'm excited about it because there's been a few of the comments that I've seen

I'm sure I've missed some because I I can't read them all. But anyway I've come across a few comments from people and on my various YouTube videos asking for a closed caption because either they or one of their friends or family members is

Hearing impaired to one degree or another and the closed captions would help them and I've wanted to do this for a long time

But honestly, I just I didn't know how to do it. And I was I was searching for the wrong thing I was googling the wrong

I was I was googling Subtitles instead of closed captions. But anyway Last night with the help from a friend of mine

He got me going in the right direction enough to where I kind of stumbled my way through it and with a lot of trial

And error, I finally figured out how to do it And so I went through all of my videos last night and I added closed captions to all of the videos

Anyway that are pertinent. I have a few videos on my channel that we're just announcing some event coming up That's coming gone.

So it doesn't matter anyway There were a few videos though that for some reason I couldn't do it

It wouldn't let me do it on a few of my videos So I don't know why that is but every video that I could

I have added closed captions. So If you're watching this, maybe if you have a friend or family member who is hearing impaired send this to them and let them know that they can now watch my videos and and Maybe they're lip readers anyway, but whatever it'll help them.

I think it will so if you have your own YouTube channel and You would like to do this as well

And I would encourage you to do it because there there are people out there that would like to watch our stuff

And and they can't because they they can't hear Do this It doesn't detract at all from the video.

In fact according to Some statistics that were emailed to me by the the

YouTube channel itself If you have your own channel, you know what I'm talking about? But apparently according what YouTube says if you have closed captions on your videos people tend to watch them longer anyway even if they're not hearing impaired, so I don't know go figure but It would be a big help to those who are hearing impaired

So let me give you a real quick rundown of how to do this so sign in to your

YouTube channel course and go to YouTube studios and Go to Subtitles click on subtitles and then providing you screenshots here and walking out

In fact, this is gonna walk you through how I did it with one of my own videos So select the video you want click the link that is the title to the video

So click that link should be right beside your thumbnail there and then you should see this

Set language so on set language click the little drop -down menu and Then you have all the world's languages from which to choose.

Of course if you're in the United States Check English United States because there's kind of different some different versions of English There's UK English and India English and Ireland English or Irish English but anyway, click

Whatever language you have there click confirm and Then you should see this screen

All right, go over to where it says duplicate and edit. Now. This is where For some reason a few of my videos did not show me this option duplicate and edit

I don't know why it was a minority a handful of them But for some reason some of them didn't but the great majority of them did so you see duplicate and edit click that And Then you should see an overwrite track

An option to overwrite track. So click continue on that then you should see this screen and It should populate a transcript.

So And I read through it. It's it's pretty accurate I mean there there'll be a few mistakes here and there and the punctuation is all but absent in the closed captions

But it's not bad. I was surprised at how how good it is, even with some theological terms, and I didn't figure it would know but But it's but it's good.

It's plenty and plenty good enough so that people reading it can understand what you're saying

So it'll populate that transcript then in the upper right hand corner click publish and You should be in business it'll automatically add that closed caption to Your video and it'll be in sync with the time, you know and with your with your mouth with your what you're saying and if you want to check and make sure that the closed captions are there just go to your channel and Check your thumbnails and there in the bottom left.

You should see CC and Stands for closed captions. Imagine that so if you see that, you know, you're in business
