TLP 547: What’s Coming in Season 29

I've recently finalized my longitudinal study, and I'm so pleased with the results that I've been talking about it more and more. Parenting isn't about us. In fact, parenting isn't even about our kids.

Parenting as Worship and the Mission of Truth, Love, Parent

Parenting is just one way Christian dads and moms are to worship God. So welcome to the Truth, Love, Parent podcast, where we train dads and moms to give God the preeminence in their parenting. Welcome to the Truth, Love, Parent podcast, the best podcast for Christian parents.

I'm your host, A .M. Brewster, and today we're going to take a couple minutes to wet our appetites for season 29. I can't believe it's been eight years. Now if you're quick with math, you know that eight times four is 32, but we're only coming into season 29 because we took some time off here and there.

But it really doesn't matter how many years, seasons, series, or episodes there are. It's a divine privilege to have the opportunity to speak into your parenting, and I do not take it lightly. Your parenting is just one way that you worship God, so it's an honor to be able to counsel you as you seek to glorify God in your family, and I recognize the significance of that honor.

So as we prepare for season 29, I want to give you a preview into what the Lord has laid on my heart for the next three months. But before we pull back the curtain, this episode is brought to you by the year-long Celebration of God.

The Celebration of God and its podcast is a tool that I created for biblical parents to help them disciple their kids. It has since become its own ministry, but that has only made it a more powerful tool for family discipleship.

Visit CelebrationofGod .com, listen to the podcast, and use the resources to help your children worship God better this year than they did last year. Okay, so in the past couple of years, I've had the opportunity to go on a couple of podcasts to talk about Expectational Education.

Introducing Expectational Education

But you have never heard me talk about that here on this show, and that's why I want to start season 29 talking about it. Expectational Education is an educational model on which I've been working for the past few decades.

I've recently finalized my longitudinal study and am so pleased with the results that I've been talking about it more and more, well, at least on other people's podcasts. And that's really because I really wasn't ready to unveil the whole system here until now.

A Five-Part Series on Children’s Minds and Learning

So I would like to do a short, five-part series to start the season. Now obviously there's way more than can be covered in just five episodes from Expectational Education, but I'm hoping that I will have the opportunity to travel and present this information at homeschool conferences and teachers' conferences.

Maybe one day I'll even publish the work, but already I have too many irons in the fire here at Evermind Ministries. Of course, that doesn't mean I shouldn't present the material to you, the faithful, truth-loved parents who listen to the show.

By the way, if you'd like to listen to the two previous interviews I did on the subject of Expectational Education, you can listen to them by logging into the Evermind app and selecting AM Brewster on the Learn tab.

So with Expectational Education as the foundation of this season, a lot of the following episodes are going to deal with your children's minds. We're going to talk about what it means to think, how the anti-intellectual culture in our world today may affect them, the truth and lies of developmental stages, and what the best version of your kids really looks like.

I'm also planning to talk about the pitfalls of merely moral parenting, how to destroy the world with your children, and then tie all the strands of this season together by discussing why a traditional college will likely be pointless for your child, but also why there's a post-high school education that your child probably really needs.

Why This Season Matters for Fall Education Decisions

I'm really looking forward to this season because I've been sitting on a number of these topics for years, but they're super important every day, but especially as we consider and reconsider our children's education this coming fall.

I know it seems maybe too early to bring up education here at the end of June, but Season 29 will be wrapping up at the end of August, and so this really is the time to get it out on the table. Please share this episode on your favorite social media outlets so that other biblical parents can subscribe to this podcast and join our Season 29 study.
