Russ Kenny shares from Proverbs 3:5-6, telling how the Lord has helped him live out these verses.
- 00:01
- Proverbs 3 verse 5 and 6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
- 00:10
- Mean not on your own understanding, but acknowledge
- 00:16
- Him in all you do, and He will guide your paths.
- 00:24
- Okay, so what are we looking at here? Our trust in the
- 00:31
- Lord with all your heart. Okay, we all know what our heart does.
- 00:39
- Our heart pumps blood through our body, keeps us alive. So how can we do anything for Him who created us?
- 00:52
- What's that going to do for Him if we trust in Him? That word trust we could probably replace with many other words.
- 01:06
- Trust, of course. Worship, follow, praise.
- 01:21
- Lean not on your own understanding. What does that mean? Lean not on your own understanding.
- 01:31
- Well, why do we lean? Lean against your partner sitting next to you.
- 01:40
- Lean against the wall when you stop on the way out. Why do we lean?
- 01:48
- For support. We lean for support. And here the
- 01:55
- Bible is telling us lean not on your own understanding, but acknowledge
- 02:03
- Him in all you do. Okay, Him, who's
- 02:11
- Him? Capital H -I -M, Him.
- 02:17
- Acknowledge, acknowledge. Talk about, share, tell others.
- 02:32
- Make Him part of your life. Acknowledge Him in all you do.
- 02:40
- You open the door for someone to come in the room. Praise Jesus, thank you,
- 02:46
- God. Acknowledge Him. Whatever you're doing, work, home, play, whatever, and He will guide your path.
- 03:00
- Guide your paths? Think about it. You probably prayed a little bit on your way here today.
- 03:11
- He was guiding you. Didn't He bring you here today?
- 03:16
- And hopefully He'll guide you home. But if you put that all together,
- 03:27
- I see, maybe many of you see, God has us in His arms.
- 03:36
- He's got His hands on us. He's guiding us. He's telling us when to make a left, when to make a right, when to stop, when to go.
- 03:50
- God is in control. I've shared that with many people, and they ask, well, how can you stand being in that wheelchair?
- 04:06
- Well, because I truly believe that's where God wants me at this time in my life.
- 04:17
- I've learned to trust in Him, and I am what
- 04:24
- I am. I do what I can do.
- 04:30
- I trust in Him. I really believe that God has used my situation to help me share
- 04:44
- Him with many others who can't understand how
- 04:52
- I can be that open and free -minded and clear while I'm sitting in a wheelchair.
- 05:06
- Well, think about it. Riding a wheelchair, a lot easier than walking around.
- 05:14
- You don't have to open doors for people.
- 05:21
- They open them for you, and I thank them for that. In Jesus' name,
- 05:28
- I thank them. That's so... It has really become a thing with me praising
- 05:38
- Jesus because of where I'm at, who
- 05:44
- I am, what I'm doing, and how He's using me to spread
- 05:51
- His word. We not only understand, but acknowledge
- 05:58
- Him in all you do, and He will guide your trail, guide your path, guide your life, which is what
- 06:10
- He is in full control of. We need to accept that.
- 06:17
- We need to make the best of that because God wants the best for us, whether at first you like it or not.
- 06:28
- Think about it. Meditate on it. Find where God is in it and give
- 06:38
- Him the praise and glory that He deserves for where you're at today.
- 06:47
- May He always bless you, protect you, and guide your paths.
