I have actually had people over the last few years come to me and tell me how greatly and spiritually changed they were by reading a book called

The Secret. I was really very excited about it because basically the message of The Secret is the message that I've been trying to share with the world on my show for the past 21 years.

The message is that you're really responsible for your life. You are responsible for your life. I've known this.

You may have seen it in an airport bookstore written by Rhonda Byrne. It's sold, and still selling by the way, in double digit millions.

For a while it was going at 150 ,000 books a month, which is pretty good.

I'm thrilled for the success of The Secret. I think that the message needs to go further because I think the mistake that was made with The Secret is that they tried to, don't know who they are, they tried to let that be the answer to all questions.

It's not the, it's just one law. The law of attraction is one law. There are many laws working in the world, but it is very true that the way you think creates reality for yourself.

There are other factors going on, so it's not everything, but you really can change your own reality based on the way that you think.

The Secret is a book based on Eastern pantheism, I guess you could say.

All things are one. You are one with the universe. We are the light.

We are the I am. We are the truth. We are God. That's some of that Eckhart Tolle nonsense.

But the appeal of The Secret is that you have within you the force, the energy, the power to create whatever kind of life you want.

But surely the number of people who believe this kind of nonsense is pretty small, right?

Well, you'd be surprised. Here's Drake, one of the most famous rappers in the world.

Yeah, and I also feel that things that I repetitively think about or say,

I'm able to manifest. Like, you know, this house, for example,

I manifested this. And here's Jennifer Lopez, one of the most popular singers in the world.

I have so many affirmations that I do. And I've done affirmations for a long, long time.

I believe that how you think, and I teach my kids this, your thoughts create your life. And so you have to think positive thoughts all the time.

You have to force yourself to think positive thoughts at times. And here's Post Malone, another of the most influential rappers in the country today.

If you want to achieve something, if you want to do something, you got to speak it into existence. And the list goes on and on and on and on.

Okay, but surely Christians can see right through this lie called the law of attraction, right?

Well, Oprah has identified as a Christian, and so does Steve Harvey, who also says this about the secret and the law of attraction.

And one book that resonates with me all the time is this book right here. It's called

The Secret. It is the most powerful book outside of the

Bible that I have ever read in my life. And the book is based on the law of attraction and how that principle, once you master it, can help you find wealth, happiness, better health, whatever you're looking for, relationships.

So let me share some of the concepts that have helped keep me on my game.

So the first one is like attracts like. You have to understand you are a magnet.

Whatever you are, that's what you draw to you. If you're negative, you're going to draw negativity. You positive, you draw positive.

And, you know, I just, it's hard to put into words, real metaphysical esoteric nonsense, but I feel very strongly that we are who we choose to be.

OK, but surely the mainstream Christian church would identify the law of attraction as a pagan unbiblical concept, right?

Well, just take a look at what's being taught in popular churches around the country today. I want to talk to you today about how your words become your reality.

You are where you are today, in part because of what you've been saying about yourself.

Words are like seeds. When you speak something out, you give life to what you're saying.

If you continue to say it, eventually that can become a reality. Whether you realize it or not, you are prophesying your future.

That's not just being positive. You are prophesying victory. The plans you have, thoughts become reality.

You are one idea away from what you saw in your dreams, in your prophecies that God spoke over your life.

You are one idea away. You are not waiting on God. God is waiting on you.

Faith calls things that be not as though they were.

And as I said yesterday, that's really difficult to a person's mind until you learn that that's the way faith operates.

Faith does not call things the way they are. If you call things the way they are, they stay the way they are.

You can't call the cat and hope to get the dog. That's why the battle or the struggle really does occur in the mind.

The mind is the battlefield. So the quality of life that I live is determined by the quality of mind that I have.

In essence, our life is what our thoughts make us. Therefore, if I can ever change my way of thinking,

I can change my way of living. I am valuable. I am beautiful.

I am victorious. I am victorious. The message again is this.

You have so much power in you that you literally can create reality by speaking it.

The internal creative power that resides in you can be released in words.

And these words have supernatural energy that literally create the world the way you want the world to be, that literally give you the circumstances and the situations and the relationships and the achievements and the accomplishments and the fulfillments and satisfactions that you want.

The thoroughly unbiblical philosophy of the secret is called the law of attraction in the non -Christian world.

But it has a direct Christian equivalent called word of faith, which is perhaps the most popular form of Christianity today.

I had the privilege of being part of what is known as the word and faith movement.

And I've been a Christian for a long time, but there was a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the church and a lot of just a lot of teaching about faith and a lot of teaching about healing.

And, you know, it was wonderful. It was a wonderful time. What's so sinister and deceptive about word of faith, the

Christian equivalent of the law of attraction, is that it tells people that being a Christian means that you have the power to attain all your worldly desires for health, wealth and power.

If this is the case, then who wouldn't want to become a Christian? You know, you're supposed to control the weather.

I mean, Ken's the primary weatherman at our house, but when he's not there, I do it. And I looked out the window and that tornado came down just like this, down toward the ground.

And Ken said, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. You get back up there. So this is how

I learned how to talk to tornadoes. I saw this and that tornado went. If becoming a

Christian means I'll have the power to control the weather, then of course, sign me up.

And it's exactly this kind of lie and manipulation that countless preachers use to take advantage of desperate people who aren't interested in repenting of sin or serving

Jesus Christ, but who are merely interested in healing money and worldly success.

You have been exposed, sadly, to this kind of muck in a vast religious

It comes in forms like this, the Word -Faith Movement, the Prosperity Gospel, the

Name It and Claim It Movement, and names like Hinn and Hickey and Price and Meyer and Copeland and Heggy and Tilton and Kuntz and Roberts and Hagen and Crouch and many more lesser lights, if you can be a lesser light.

They all claim that every so -called Christian has the personal power to recreate life's reality into exactly what he wants.

The only thing they add is they throw the name of Jesus in, and Jesus is just waiting to be activated by you knowing what you want, believing that you're going to get it, visualizing it, and speaking it.

It's a very successful Ponzi scheme. These people are really, really good at what they do, and they take most advantage of the desperate and the lonely and the isolated and the ignorant.

As Christians, we must reject and speak against everything related to the law of attraction and the word of faith movement because it is a false philosophy and false religion from the depths of hell.

This is a false Christianity from hell. All of Satan's temptations are driven at fallen corruption, selfishness, pride, indulgence.

In this system, there is no biblical understanding of God. There is no biblical understanding of man, and certainly there's no biblical understanding of sin.

There's a very obvious reason why you will rarely, if ever, hear proponents of this kind of manifestation philosophy talk about sin.

And that's because sin gets in the way of what people really want, which is not God at all.

They simply want to use God to get the kind of life they want for themselves. But for true

Christians who truly understand the Bible, sin is absolutely necessary and foundational to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

If we were to talk about the doctrine of total depravity for a moment, you could understand it simply as man's universal inability and unwillingness to come to God.

He is both unable and unwilling. No man seeks after God, nor does any man have any capacity to come to God.

This notion that you have so much goodness in yourself that you can literally speak your desires out, and God somehow jumps out of the little genie lamp and gives you everything that you desire because you're such a noble person created to be a winner and a champion is a lie right out of hell.

So here's the question. Why are you a Christian? Are you a Christian because you want something from God?

Or are you a Christian because you recognize your sin and utter dependence upon God for salvation from hell itself?

Are you completely submitted to God's sovereign will, no matter what God has ordained for your life?
