I Couldn't Find a Good Bible Literacy Test... So I Made One
Ever wondered how well you really know the Bible? I've created a free adaptive Biblical Literacy Assessment that measures your understanding of Scripture, not just trivia facts. The 25-question test adjusts to your knowledge level in real-time and covers the big story of Scripture, key people and events, important themes, and how the Bible is structured.
Most people score in the 2-3 range (even lifelong Bible readers), so don't expect perfection, this is just about knowing your present level of knowledge.

Hey, everyone. I just launched a free, adaptive Bible literacy test on my website, and I want to tell you why
I built it and how it works. So a while back, I started searching for a free online biblical literacy test.
I just wanted to take one, you know, just to see what kind of result I'd get.
I didn't want a trivia test, but a real literacy assessment, because knowing
Bible facts isn't the same as understanding how it all fits together. Literacy means grasping the big story of Scripture, key people and events, important themes, how the
Bible is structured. It's about comprehension, not just memorization.
And I could not find a good free option. The ones I found were either more like Bible trivia games, or they were
PDFs you had to print out and grade yourself. I wanted something comprehensive that would give me real feedback on my biblical knowledge.
So, with the help of Anthropic's Claude AI, I wrote my own.
I'm making it available for free on my website at ReadyForEternity .com.
I needed AI assistance because I wanted this test to be adaptive, and that involved a lot of math that's way over my head.
What do I mean by adaptive? Simply put, the test adjusts to your level as you take it.
If you answer a question correctly, the next question gets a little harder.
If you miss one, the next question is a little easier. This back and forth allows the assessment to zero in on your knowledge level without having to ask you a hundred questions.
It's more efficient and, hopefully, more accurate than a traditional test.
The assessment covers all the major areas of biblical literacy. The big story of scripture, key people and events, important themes, how the
Bible is structured, everything that's needed to assess your literacy of the
Bible as a whole. Now, let me set some expectations. Most people are going to score on the lower end of the scale, and that's completely normal.
The test uses a 1 to 5 scale. A 1 means you're a relatively new
Bible student. A 5 is seminary graduate school to PhD level knowledge.
So unless you've done some serious, dedicated study of scripture, don't expect to score a 4 or a 5.
Even lifelong Bible readers will probably score in the 2 to 3 range, and that's perfectly okay.
This is about knowing where you are, not about getting a perfect score. One more really important thing.
Don't guess. Don't Google. And don't pull out your Bible while you're taking this.
This is meant to measure what you know. If you don't know the answer, there's an
I don't know option. Use it. That's how the test stays accurate. There's only 25 questions, so the whole thing should take you less than 15 minutes.
When you finish, you'll get immediate results with your literacy level and some feedback on how you did.
And don't worry. Your results are completely private. Nothing is saved or shared.
This is just for you. So if you've ever wondered how well do
I really know the Bible, now you can find out. It's completely free, and it's available right now on my website.
Head over to ReadyForEternity .com and take the assessment and see where you stand.
