Well, hello, hello. Welcome everyone to the live stream for the 2025 best reform podcast. Bracket kickoff. We've still got some people coming in. Um, I see some people dropping out coming in, but we got a full house tonight.

All right. Let's see. Let's see. Let's get brandon back in there. It's like he's jumping in. Uh adam from rockwall bible said he's going to be coming in. So, um, yeah, so this is the kickoff. What we do is we do a live stream before we kick off.

I do a live stream after each. Uh round of voting, um, which this year just so everyone watching and you guys listening.

It'll be uh 64 then down to 32. Then down to 16 then down to 8 then down to 4 and then the final 2. Uh, so we're gonna have a little more voting because we expanded it to 128 Podcasts this year. Tell us a little bit about yourself and uh, what business you bring to the table?

Yeah, so good to be here. Uh, I am a california native that transplanted to louisville, kentucky after five years in the army as a chaplain's assistant. Worked at the southern baptist theological seminary handling their 31 million dollar annual operating budget before eventually transitioning into personal finance.

Uh, and we basically just do everything so full service financial planning and wealth management from a distinctly reformed point of view. So we help you with your budgeting help you with debt paydowns and savings accounts and life insurance and retirement planning and estate planning.

And business coaching kind of the whole nine yards and we do that all for free. Uh, we're independent brokerage agents. So we we get paid on the back end when we set you up with a with a carrier with a with a company.

They pay us because as far as they're concerned, we just brought them a client. They didn't have to go looking for it. So it's a way for us to kind of structure our business and pull into the egyptians while providing top tier financial planning without compromise.

Yeah, so my name is terry man. Um I'm one of three partners in patriarchy art company. We're based out of uh, southern oregon.

Um.

Basically, uh. A couple buddies and I at our local church. Uh, our wives were not real happy with our cigar budget. So we thought what can we do to to try to help that and so we started a cigar company.

And uh, that's that's kind of how it started. Um, but really we we've got A real similar vision. I think a lot of you guys we've actually we've talked to josiah. Um, We just want to build something that's christian and I think cigars are a great way to do that.

You know, it's just If you're a cigar guy, you know when you come around a great cigar with some some guys it's just a great time to slow down and have some good fellowship and uh, we we just Thought it was a great thing for some christian brothers to be involved in and are ultimately we want to have you know a local brick and mortar here cigar lounge a place that people can just meet and um, you know, whether it's bible studies to just just whatever kind of Fellowship, we just want to facilitate that any way that we can.

Um, and we're all three partners. I'm, um myself. Uh, brian ferguson and ethan harris. Uh, we're all full-time. I'm a logger. We've got a family logging company. Brian's a cattle rancher and ethan's a forester with with warehouser.

Um, you know, so this is kind of our our hobby side gig that's turning into a lot of work.

So i've been waiting for my funny hat and my robe. But i'm pretty excited about that. But yeah, well, we're reformed. We're not catholic or eastern orthodox. Well, I still want a funny hat my head gets cold, you know, i'll see what I can find.

Yeah, so we started um, I started this Um a few years back. Um got really into video editing. I started uh filming, uh weddings. And uh did that for a while. And then the brides got really tough to deal with.

So I was like, I don't want to do that anymore, but I I fell in love with the podcasting space made some great friends and.

Got really good really quick parker. Just so you know reform guys can be just as catty as brides. Yeah.

Yeah, well, I mean that's that's I mean if you've been on twitter for you know, five minutes you've. You you you find that out real quick. But um, but no what I mean, it's real simple. Uh, we we do podcast editing so that we can put the creator in the best possible.

Uh position or or seat that they that they enjoy, uh to be in so they they create. They do all of their filming so that they can be in uh, complete creative control. And then they upload Their raw files to the cloud.

They I download it and I edit it for them and send it back. Um, so that's awesome.

That's what we do.

Can I just say really quick too is I will go through my reels and I will sometimes skip over someone's podcast. That's did a little clip, but I always find myself watching all of yours and after about 10 of those I was like Why am I naturally gravitating towards that your quick edits?

Um, you're always in hd. Uh your text on the screen grabs you so you have not only the technical. But you really do have a creative eye for that stuff and I would say anyone listening that has a podcast.

That's at that space. They go look at I want someone to professionally edit do the audio. Even help me a little bit creatively to get more views and have people actually stay on my site or my reel instead of bouncing.

I'm not worried bro. We got this but uh. Uh, i'm a co-founder of eschatology matters, uh, we. We are essentially a content publisher, uh a lot of people know us from youtube because that's where we spend a lot of our our time and energy, but we are on.

Uh, the fight life peace network and we do podcasts on apple and spotify.

Uh.

We're not huge, but we we continue to grow every year very steadily and god's been good in that and we just want to.

Um.

You know, I was raised dispensational in in a charismatic dispensational environment, which was pretty Intense and so I had a pretty skewed view of eschatology and so our goal is to. People usually fall into two ditches.

They are very fanatical about eschatology and you can think of all the cults that have been started because of eschatology. Or they're very indifferent because they don't think that it really matters.

And so our goal is to go right down the middle and say hey, this should be a source of joy And motivation for you in your daily christian life. And so that's what. That's what we're about. Um. And so I I used to host conferences.

I might host one this year, but until I do i've got i'm sitting on a lot of books that uh Companies have sent me and so i've got some stuff to give away.

Um.

And I don't know if the winner I know we haven't talked about this. I don't know if you want, you know someone that's Participating or uh voting to get these or if you're wanting the podcast that wins to get them.

I don't know if they'll need them, but I have a Uh commentary on revelation, uh here this is actually it's from james hamilton. Tell us a little bit tell us a little bit about the business. How long you been doing it? What kind of stuff do you do? Do you do just bibles or do you do all books?

Yeah, yeah, I can do uh, basically any book as long as it's a sewn binding. Uh, we've been selling rebinds for about a year now. Uh, it's gone gone really well. Um, and so I had plenty of business. So I just want to thank everyone out there who has uh put in orders with us.

Um, you know, i'm i'm kind of slow at work and I just do it part-time so I have a. Have a regular day job and then three three girls under four. So um, it's just kind of uh when I can get to them thing and.

Uh, but it's been it's been really good and the lord has blessed it. Uh, and in you know proceeds from from me selling bibles it kind of started off as a way for for me to eventually uh pay for their christian education, so whether that be uh, you know a christian school or.

Uh, maybe starting a school someday or or homeschool. One of the three um, so, you know when you buy a bible from us, that's what it's going to go to.

Another one is even andrew rapaport from rap report because I agree into this. And he goes deep into his like email list and he goes over to his facebook page and posts it. He's like guys go vote for me.

He went a couple rounds last year and almost beat. Uh, James white which is a tall order but came came pretty close and you go man. He might have a path that takes him far into the bracket. Um, just thinking is always a sneaky one if they actually post about it if virgil and those guys actually post and go hey.

Listeners go vote. He could be one that goes far. It really comes down to for all the podcasts listening to this is only on x so if you have interaction. Or you repost i've seen much smaller podcasts meet larger podcasts just because they were engaged and said hey guys.

Could you vote for me and move them to the next? Uh, you know to the next round in the bracket, which I found very interesting. So it's just not necessarily how big the podcast how many listeners or how many?

X followers you have it really is a like how active are you during that 11 day period? And will people respond to the request, you know?

Yeah, and i'm i'm just gonna i'm gonna stay it right now. I think watch. Well, I think we've got a good chance.

Oh, I I. Uh, who are you up against in. Uh, we're up against the ezra institute. Oh, yeah, because you're already taking him down. You've already got uh, we've got names rolling.

They see it when they get tagged in the post so from there they're on, you know, they've been warned. So if they've got a very active Uh acts where they're on there every day or they have a social media manager that's actually looking at it They'll see it and they'll retweet it.

Yeah, so. Another funny one too is center for baptist leadership. Yeah, and and william wolf. Asked me to write it that way because that's the name of the podcast and I said brother unless I tag you Uh with your name I don't know if you'll get any votes.

I don't know if anyone listens to center for baptist leadership now. I i'm, sorry william if you're watching i'm sure it's a very popular podcast, but everyone just knows william wolf. You know what? I mean?

They just know the name because that he's he's on x that way. So I told him I said don't blame me if the new startup for the king podcast, uh, you know. Uh, maybe gets past you in the first round. You got to be out there retweeting it.

I don't care if you are meeting with trump or not. You say mr. President. I have a bracket to attend to. I need to go retweet greg's tweet.

You asked president trump to tweet out the bracket.

There you go. Mr. President. You uh. Yeah, can you can you tweet this out? But uh, yeah, so overall man i'm excited because we have 128. When we get down to that 64. It'll clear things up a little bit and then it really gets fun in the third round at that 32 because once you get through Two rounds then it really starts getting into tough competition and you've got people who've been voting for you multiple times.

So the 32 and the sweet 16 are always very exciting. But just for everyone watching, uh, just so you know, we're going to start monday night. That's the 10th at 9 a .m. Eastern standard we're going to start from the upper left.

In the upper right side and we're going to do 16 matchups. So we'll get rid of 32 a day. So there's going to be four days of just first round voting then it goes down to 64. At eight matchups, so that's eight or i'm with uh, 16 a day.

So that's two days of second round voting and so on and so forth when we get down to the final 16. We'll probably do four a day essentially it works out to about 11 days and for anyone watching. Uh, I do not work, uh do brackets or do any podcasts on sunday?

So we will go monday through saturday. We will skip sunday and then we get right back to it monday tuesday wednesday and finish up on thursday. So. Um, you know if you're on x daily or every other day, I would say be on daily check in at real real dmw podcast.

You're going to have multiple votes going all day. They're all 24 hour votes. So they'll start at 9 a .m. They'll end at 9 a .m each day. So we'll have 24 hour votes and you get to vote for one or the other.

And then we tell him up at the end of the day and we put him in the uh bracket. So you can see it and you you will be able to see every day. Who is it who's advanced to the next round that seems to work out the best?

But guys, did you have any uh final words for anyone out there? Uh for the couple hundred people watching right now, well at least on x. I can't see on my youtube um, uh that are that are watching anything about the bracket you want to tell them.

I would just say that um I would just say go vote because you know, we all know that you know, all of us guys that make content how much work it goes. It goes into, you know, Bringing a message to an audience and uh, even even just voting.

You know voting for your favorite podcast goes a long way. So I would say just go vote and support the podcast that you really really like. And even if you don't support them vote. Just vote for someone that you Like when you see the poll just vote for somebody because it means a lot to us who create the content.

You know, I just want to echo that very quickly. Yeah, I just say share share this stuff vote you know, uh promote all the stuff you can and You know, i'm i'm judging everybody's Reform so you got to tag me in it if i'm going to see it.
