- 00:00
- And all those things came together in that moment to where I realized, okay, I'm called to do something in this fight against abortion.
- 00:09
- The abortion mill was located on a hill, and I would soon find out that that hill would be called
- 00:15
- Hell's Hill. I would go back to the abortion mill, and again, really not sure what to do.
- 00:27
- And I began to pray, and I began to learn the environment. And I felt like the Lord gave me three words.
- 00:32
- He said that you're called to go in humility, love, and truth, and you're not called to compromise any of them.
- 00:39
- And I would operate and function in those three words. And I would begin to have conversations.
- 00:44
- My first rescue came from a lady named Tina. Tina was a young Asian woman who was pregnant, who was going in.
- 00:52
- At this point, I hadn't really had any conversations, wasn't even sure if I could have a conversation or even change anybody's mind.
- 01:00
- But that day, I asked Tina if she would come over and talk to me, and she did. We had a simple conversation.
- 01:06
- I shared the gospel with her, and she looked at me and she says, what do you want me to do? And I told her,
- 01:11
- I said, well, you're here for an ultrasound. Why don't we go get an ultrasound somewhere else? And so she got in her car,
- 01:16
- I got in my car, and we drove about ten miles away to a pregnancy resource center.
- 01:23
- She went in and got her ultrasound that day, and she came out and showed me a picture of her little boy.
- 01:29
- And she said, look at my son. I said, what are you gonna do? And she says, I'm gonna keep him.
- 01:35
- His name is Austin Jay. He's eight years old today, and he's doing fantastic.
- 01:41
- But it was that rescue that gave me confidence and boldness to go back to the street and proclaim the goodness of our
- 01:49
- Lord and call women out of these horrific situations. And so that one rescue would lead to many rescues.
- 01:55
- It would lead to my fifth rescue, my tenth rescue, my 20th, my 100th rescue. And so as I was engaging people going into the mill,
- 02:04
- I would engage cars driving by on the street. And one day, this young couple pulled into the parking lot.
- 02:12
- They were in this little bitty yellow car. They had their windows cracked about two inches, and there was a man in the passenger side.
- 02:21
- There was a young lady in the driver's side. And so as I looked at the car, I realized that their windows were down, and that was just enough room for me to speak the gospel, to get some good news into that car.
- 02:31
- And so I began to speak, and my words were getting through. I could see that they were looking back at me, and this guy gets out of the car.
- 02:41
- He's a very intimidating guy, a lot stronger, a lot bigger than me. And he just stares at me, and I tell him who
- 02:49
- I am. I tell him I'm Pastor Scott, I'm not here to shame you, condemn you. I'm here to love you and call you to a better place.
- 02:56
- He doesn't give me any emotion. He sits back down in his car. And so he leaves his window cracked, and I began to speak to him.
- 03:04
- And I quote the Psalm 139 that talks about how the Lord intricately weaves that child in the womb, how that child is fearfully and wonderfully made.
- 03:12
- And in that moment, there's a ton of emotion in the car. The car's actually shaking, and I thought they were fighting.
- 03:18
- And I thought he was getting ready to harm the young lady that was in the car. And about that time, this young man, he jumps out of the car again, and he's looking at me.
- 03:28
- We're staring at each other. And I continue to quote Psalm 139. He begins to walk towards me, and he's not showing any emotion.
- 03:36
- I'm not sure if he's going to hit me or if he's going to try to tackle me, take me down or what.
- 03:42
- But I stood my ground and just began to proclaim the goodness of our Lord to him. And when he gets up to me, he stares at me, and I'm looking up at him.
- 03:50
- He's probably 6 '4", and he looks down at me and throws his arms wide open, and he grabs me and he hugs me and he holds me.
- 03:59
- And he begins to cry. I began to cry. And I said, man, what's going on?
- 04:06
- And he said, you began to quote a scripture. And when you began to quote whatever it was you were quoting, we have never felt the baby move.
- 04:16
- My girlfriend had never felt the baby move, and in that moment, the baby began to jump.
- 04:22
- And we were so excited that we both got emotional and both started crying.
- 04:28
- And at that time, the woman got out of the car, and she came over, and there's about 10 of us there, and it's very emotional.
- 04:36
- And she then proclaims the gospel to us. And it was just an incredibly powerful moment.
- 04:43
- And they left there and went and had a beautiful baby. We had a time where a mother and a daughter were coming up to Hell's Hill.
- 04:54
- The young lady rolled down her window, and I could tell she was with her mom, and there was a lot of emotion.
- 05:02
- And I asked her, I said, hey, what's your name? And she told me her name. And I knew in that moment, I can't think of her name right now, but I knew in that moment,
- 05:09
- I knew the meaning of her name. And it was a Swahili word for peace.
- 05:15
- And I said, do you know what peace is? And she goes, no. And I said, well, peace is ultimately, yes, the removal of something that takes away the pain that you're feeling.
- 05:27
- But I said, biblical peace is more than that. It's completion. It's shalom. It's when you have a relationship with a
- 05:33
- God who is complete, that He fills you, not only does He remove things, but He fills you with His goodness.
- 05:41
- And there was a lot of emotion in the moment. I looked at the mom, and I said, ma 'am, what's going on with you?
- 05:49
- And she said, 17 years ago, I was in this parking lot, and I was here to abort my daughter.
- 05:56
- And she said that an angel showed up, and she changed her mind.
- 06:02
- And here I am with my daughter today, 17 years later, and I'm here to abort my grandchild.
- 06:09
- And an angel has showed up, and they decided to keep their child. And so, just another powerful testimony of what
